The damage to my smile affected me tremendously, and I fell into a severe depression. I was desperate to get my teeth fixed and start feeling like myself again. I was referred to Root Vision Endo in Lakewood. It took some time for them to accept my insurance, but once they did, I scheduled an appointment. The office was clean, and although I was extremely nervous, I trusted that I was in the hands of professionals. The doctor examined and tested three of my teeth. Based on that evaluation, I was told that I needed three root canals. I trusted the diagnosis and agreed to move forward, paying $1,099 out of pocket because I was desperate to restore my smile. Afterward, I returned to my regular dentist and was devastated to learn that two of the teeth that received root canals could not be saved and would need to be removed. I cannot explain how upsetting that was. I had just endured three root canals, the pain and recovery that came with them, and a significant out-of-pocket expense--only to be told that two of those teeth still needed to be extracted. That $1,099 could have gone toward the bridge and restorative treatment I now need. Instead, my treatment has been prolonged, I endured additional procedures, and I am now facing even more dental expenses. I understand that dental outcomes are not always guaranteed and that different providers can have different professional opinions. However, based on my experience, I deeply regret not getting a second opinion before proceeding with three root canals. If you are dealing with a dental emergency or trauma and feeling desperate like I was, please advocate for yourself and consider getting a second opinion before agreeing to major treatment. When you're scared and just want your smile back, it's easy to put all your trust in the diagnosis you're given. I was in need of a root canal and Dr. Vasa from Peppertree dental referred me to Dr. Kim (who is literally down the street). I have never been so satisfied with the outcome of my procedure that I am now telling everyone I know to get a referral to Dr. Kim if they ever need a reliable endodontist. Dr. Kim knows patients are anxious, so after he listened to all my concerns he told me how I am under their care now, and just hearing that gave me a wave of assurance. During my procedure he was VERY generous with numbing me. I told him that I never felt this numb in my life, he laughed and said "he's not cheap". I kid you not, I almost fell asleep. I didn't feel any sharp pain, and I gotta say, the Hawaiian radio he has for BGM was a good touch. Dr. Kim is very attentive, understanding, and kind. His team is also a reflection of his leadership. Safe to say he has my fiancé's ultimate stamp of approval.
