I don't go there often but when I do it's always great! We've used them to cater for our family reunion in the past. The ribs are seasoned well and very tender. It's housed in a small space with a few bar stools to sit on while you wait on your order. I passed this place for years and finally was like I'll give it a try since its so close. Its horrible. The ribs are full of fat, the turkey leg I got was cooked only on the outside and pink all the way through the rest, and my beans were full of paste.. Almost more paste than the beans, and it's a big bowl of beans, i threw it away along with the turkey leg and used the salvagable ribs to get full, fries were over soggy I had to put them in the air fryer. Let me start by saying, we always try to support our local businesses. If we don't, who will? But on the other hand, businesses forget that there are MANY options, and should be mindful and appreciative when patrons choose to visit their establishment. I will give my review below, and hope this is a way for Mr.Cobbs to hear and change his business, service, and culture. You can never go wrong when you lead with kindness. I hope new customers will have a better experience. My RATING scale is based on a 1 (poor) to 5 (as the best). Service (to customers) - RATING 1: On several occasions, customers are greeted (or shall I say lack there of) by an older lady, as you walk in, watching you with a very unpleasant face as if she's disgusted. No words like, "Hello welcome...how may I help you?". As you stand there reading the menu board, gathering questions on the menu, you turn towards her, with reluctancy, her words with attitude while pointing to the board (as if you cannot read). Not to mention she's talking low and it's hard to hear through the plexiglass, no crack of smile. I ask myself, "Are we not blessed to breathe another day and thankful for it?" Oh well, I guess that's too much to ask. Food Quality - RATING 3: I generally order the spare ribs often, but this time decided on the double meat plate (ribs and tips), with mac n cheese, greens, and added addional side of baked beans. The sides are usually delicious, no issue. The ribs (4 bones) were dissapointing and very dry. Funny thing is...after spending almost $50.00, you are only given 2 small containers of bbq sauce for the entire plate. And I dare you to ask for additional sauce (you ARE met with response that it will cost extra!) It's okay, not a big deal after spending $50.00, but a good customer service approach would have said, "Sure, I can put an extra one in for you as a courtesy, thank you for your business!" Prices - RATING 2: Meat and combo plates are a little over priced. A small side of mac n cheese is $7.00. Small peach cobbler is $8.00. I understand cost and COGS, but come on you guys, really?! Catering Service and Handling - RATING 1: This one is a sad. I took my husband to Mr Cobbs for the first time a year ago and he was impressed. He decided to recommend their catering service to his company, whom caters food daily for the upper management teams and rotate between various restaurants at least twice a month. That was an "easy in" for Mr Cobbs to gain this account. Well after ordering from them during the 4th time, spending several hundred (each time), his company received the wrong order and called Mr Cobbs immediately receiving this huge order. Mr Cobbs told them that they will not fix the order. Not even a token of good business faith; providing a discount of some sort, towards the next order. Let's just say that was a foolish thing and making that last time ordering. My husband's company took their business elsewhere. Businesses that has a poor understanding of these factors cannot sustain a healthy growth of business because they fail to read reviews and do a deep dive into the issues (complaints) and work hard to fix the business. They often brush it off and classify negative reviews as a "disgruntled customer" and reluctantly respond (if they have the decency) with defensive banter. Please take the time to listen, reflect and change for growth, if you care. Came back and the food was just as good! Meat tender, seasoned and fall off the bone!! Tried the string beans this time around and they were delicious. The baked beans never disappoint. Stopped by as a result of positive yelp reviews. We ordered three meals and a side of Mac-n-cheese and everyone enjoyed their food. The portion sizes are good and the food flavorful. There's not space to eat inside of the restaurant and after ordering they ask you to step outside, which turned me off a bit. It's hot outside but they do have a couple of tables out there and a fan blowing. We were told it would take 20 minutes to get our food and it was done in about 15 minutes - so not too long of a wait. read more

This place has become a soul/comfort food staple for me lately. I am SO HAPPY to have finally found a barbecue spot that doesn't put pork in every dish (baked beans & collard greens most especially)... More places should follow suit. The brisket tends to be more on the fatty side for those who prefer it that way, but I think next time I'll just request some leaner slices. Also, if you go later in the evening the likelihood of them running out of some popular items (cornbread, yams, pound cake, etc...) is a little higher. Other than that, I really have no complaints. There are just two of us so we ordered way more than we could finish; leftovers turned into lunch the next day! The wings were not the best, not enough sauce, a little dry, and not hot (this part is understandable because we ordered to go). The buffalo sauce was supposed to be spicy but it was not. Uber eats drivers coming in to pick up food and they told them cancel the order, so if you ordered Uber eats you as the customer will remain pissed and hungry while the driver's pissed for wasting their time and gas. How can a customer experience all of these things before tasting the food! Haven't taste the food yet to give a food review because I lost my appetite with the bad experience. This is why a mom and pops business will always remain a mom and pop business because of poor business practices.
