I came here once for a facial and ever since then have become addicted to the place! I had my first facial with Katia (sp) two days before a wedding and I was stressing out about a massive cystic pimple on my cheek. The woman is an angel and managed to miraculously make all traces of the pimple disappear! And I would say that the customer service is just great. Positively fabulous. It's the cutest little house and smells fabulous upon entry. This was my first visit, and I'm hooked. I've been looking for a new wax salon since I moved to the area a few months ago and this is it. Everyone was super nice. The receptionist is very welcoming. My appointment was originally scheduled for Thursday, but I had some time today so I called to see if I could switch. They were very accommodating and able to get me in in about 2 hours. My appointment was with Rachel. Love her. So very nice and I think very...intuitive. She was easy to talk to, funny, but definitely not pushy or forceful as far as conversing. I felt like I was telling her my life, which I rarely do. In addition to her wonderful personality, the brazilion was virtually painless. She uses a combination of hard and soft wax, very efficient, and whatever cream/oil she used during the wax was amazing. One of the best waxes I've ever had. Didn't require any tweezing afterwards. It was a bit pricier than normal, but definitely worth it. And the best thing I didn't even try yet, they have bikini "facials." I'm going back to get one of those as well. I was really excited about getting a facial here after reading all the great reviews on Yelp. Basically, I just had some blackheads on my nose that needed extractions. However, I have red marks all over my face and I don't even have acne! I was told the redness would go away the same day, but it is the next day and I am still left with dark red marks. I'm really upset, I really wanted to like this place. Apart from the red marks on my face, Christina was very nice and made sure I was comfortable during the facial. read more

I received my first facial while visiting a spa in Napa and was told I had to find an salon that used organic products in Houston. I searched all over town as I was willing to drive anywhere to make sure I got the highest quality products and treatment. I found Bare Necessities in a humble building off Richmond. I walked in with quite a few questions and was immediately greeted by Paige and Emma. Emma answered everyone one of my questions in extreme depth. She ended up becoming my aesthetician and has been for almost two years now! I absolutely love her. I go to her every five weeks and my skin looks completely different. I have little to no blemishes anymore, where before I was a picking frenzy. She has also increased the collagen in my face, neck and chest, which is something we all worry about...wrinkles. Not only is she my aesthetician, but she has become a wonderful friend. The massage she does while getting the facial is incredibly relaxing as well. I literally countdown the days until I get to see her. I purchase the lotions, oils and serums for home use as well, which have shown vast improvements. Amazing Service! Christina is the BEST waxer I have ever used. She is polite, gentle, and extremely helpful. I have had Brazilian bikini waxes numerous times before, and it is an extremely painful and uncomfortable process. However, with Christina it's a totally different story. I absolutely love it here. they've done a great job making it look neat, clean and nice at the same time and really focus on their customer. I take a little longer to get a brazilian wax because I personally feel that it's the most painful experience ever (though I've never birthed a child) and I never feel rushed out or made to feel silly for this. They even tweeze out individual hairs wax may miss. They even have free wine to help relax you before your session (just remember to ask for it). I've also had facials here. I love love love it. the products feel great on my face and i always leave with a healthy glow. Definitely try it. read more

I cannot say enough good about this salon. The environment is calming and CLEAN. The ladies that greeted me (in and out) were very friendly and efficient. Rachel is AMAZING! This was the second place I've gotten a Brazilian at in Houston, and the first was pretty horrific. I was VERY anxious, to say the least, about trying another place, but it was so necessary. And I'm so glad I did. Rachel was very gentle and made the process as painless as possible. She gives you the option of hard or soft wax but uses a combination of both (depending on the are and your type of hair) if you don't have a preference. She talked me through the entire process and kept me calm. She gave me great tips for aftercare as well. Also, the regrowth process is by far the best I've experienced of all other salons I've been to. I HIGHLY recommend this place. You can find less expensive places, but you get what you pay for. I'm fairly new to waxing I would say my first experience was late 2010. My first time I went to another well known Wax/Spa in Montrose and the experience was not bad, however, I thought I would try another well rated Spa and that's where I met Shanna. Shanna was awesome, she made me feel so comfortable and that's when I realized how big of a difference experience make's in your spa experience. I never have to wait more than a few minutes and the place is always clean. I was so pleased with Shanna I followed her when she started Bare Necessities. Yes, there is another spa closer to where I live, however, I believe that it's worth going out of your way for such a personal service. The ladies at Bare Necessities are awesome, if you are on the fence about waxing or if you are a waxing veteran you should give these guys a shot...IT'S WORTH IT. read more
