On a recent visit to San Francisco, Barebottle Brewing was top of my list to visit thanks to many excellent can selections we've gotten at the local bottle shop. Their beer is excellent, and I've heard nothing but great things about the place and people. We visited on a Sunday and met friends, who said it took a while to get a big table for us; it was surprisingly packed! It's a large industrial brewery, with the equipment chained off at the back. They make great use of the rest of the building with large tables, small tables, bar seating/standing room, plus an arcade area, outside seating area, and a few cozy living room style areas with stuffed furniture at the back. To the right on entry is the canned beer for takeout, to the left is their large bar and impressive tap list. We mostly get IPAs, so it was fun to try their other styles like rice lagers and a barleywine, everything was excellent. Their flights are huge, basically half size goblet pours in a six rack. Prices are reasonable for the well developed beer. They also had a food vendor outside, which we loved (see separate review). It's great to see a place equally rock great beer and a fun experience, I definitely look forward to returning sometime soon. read more

I come here fairly often with friends or colleagues since its in the neighborhood, great place with a lot of space and usually a food truck outside for grubbing! I stopped by here again last week with a friend who came up from San Jose, grabbed a few beers as the service is usually super quick even on busy days, got my usual IPA, and grabbed a seat outside as it was pretty hot. Great place to hangout, they have a mini-arcade for kids if you've got little ones, and of course a to go fridge if you want to grab some cans to go! This is definitely a fun place to be, and if you're watching sports, they've got Tv's as well! read more

Bare Bottle is probably one of the best breweries in California. Their beers are first rate and unique. I've been wanting to go here for a super long time and I was so glad we're actually able to do it. There was plenty of parking and it wasn't overly crowded. Lots of seating both inside and outside. The person who greeted us and took our orders was very nice and extremely informative. She make sure we tasted everything before we bought it. By the way I walked out with about $100. worth of beer in cans. Do yourself a favor and head over to Bare Bottle Brewing. For the price and for the service in a good ambience it's really the best! read more

We attended an engagement party here and it was a blast! They had a corner room that was very intimate and super cute. The actual bar set up was big and roomy and super chill. Video games, picnic tables and tall ceilings and loved the beers provided. Kid friendly and then the food trucks outside too. Super cool vibe. read more

Such a fun and spacious brewery! Lots of seating, arcade games in the back, and a patio area. I even got to try non alcoholic beer, and I honestly like it! I love the amount of tables and seating, such a great spot to host large gatherings. It's also very family friendly, kids were enjoying the games. Dog friendly - just note that there are a couple cats that roam around inside. Parking can be tricky if you're going during prime time, but generally, several street parking along the neighborhoods. Bare Bottle Brewery is about as close as you can get to a family friendly neighborhood brewery. Love the spacious industrial interior within view of the vats used to brew their extensive list of beers. There is separate non-alcoholic area with electronic games where kids can hang out. I stuck to the Beet and Apple Kombucha due to my low alcohol diet. It was delicious! But, my friends raved about the beers they sampled. read more

Enjoyed a flight here. My partner and I are into sours and Barebottle delivered! Service was order at bar and was quick and easy even though it was busy. When we came they had bbq in front and you can order pizza via a QR code that is next door. The bbq made indoors a bit smokey but wasn't too bad. Kids and pets are allowed indoors. Once again, this is proving to be a nice, local hangout that is family-friendly where families can come with their kids! There are some fun arcade games on one side and drinks on the other! I want to try all of the drinks - almost a Periodic Table-worthy size of drink selections listed in neat, logical order! The people there were awesome, the environment was friendly, but do reserve tables and lounge seating in advance! Pro tip, that was! Kinda difficult to find parking. We parked at the top of the hill by the neighborhood and walked down. I was surprised at how big this brewery was! Lots of games and people socializing indoors and outdoors. There was a Mexican food truck parked on the premise and they even have Spinning Dough and Rice Lyfe to order with your drinks! I mainly came for the food! I was able to sample a few drinks before committing to one. I liked the Lean mean machine (sour) since I'm not much of an IPA beer drinker. I wish there were more sour flavors or ciders. My friend went with the kombucha (beer and apple) which I didn't taste much flavor. We went on a Tuesday for trivia night from 7-9. If you do this, aim to come earlier for a table, and aim to get a table closer to the bar so you can see the TV screen, which is where all the questions are posted. Besides the trivia area, there's an arcade in the back, and a patio in the front. Sometimes, they also hold events in the back area near the bathrooms. Also, at least on Tuesdays, they always have a good truck food dinner, with varying prices. The beers are good. You're allowed to sample a little beer before you buy. read more

Loved the Saturday day time vibe at this brewery - especially as a parent with kids! Love that this place is kid friendly with games, and lots of people bringing their little ones to hang out. I tried their non alcoholic ginger hibiscus soda (3.5/5) and my husband got their Muir Woods hazy IPA (4/5). You're able to bring outside food and drink which is a major plus, and shout out to Spinning Dough right next door that can deliver pizzas right to your table. You can also reserve tables and spaces in the brewery which seems nice for parties and events. As a big lover of sour beer, Barebottle Brewing Company is a great spot. They have a solid variety of sours, and honestly their beer selection overall is huge, so it seems like anyone can find something they enjoy regardless of taste. We came on a Tuesday night for Head Games Trivia (starts at 7pm), and safe to say this is not Gen Z trivia. It was pretty tough for my group and definitely had us laughing at how many questions we missed. Trivia night gets very packed, and people are a little indifferent about sharing tables, so it helps to arrive early if you want a nice spot to sit. There was a food truck outside that was open during trivia and the food was pretty decent, which was a nice bonus. I also really like that the space is indoors and dog friendly, so you can bring your pup along without any issues. Overall, great beer variety, fun atmosphere, and a solid place to hang out whether you are there for trivia or just to try a few flights. read more

Bear Bottle in Bernal Heights has become one of my go-to spots. Super chill vibe, zero pretension, and honestly some of the best beer you'll find in the city. The tap list is always rotating, and every time I've gone there's been at least a couple standout pils/lagers and a few interesting seasonal things to try. Staff is friendly without hovering, and they know the beer well enough to point you in the right direction if you're undecided. The space is big, comfortable, and never feels cramped even when it's busy. Great place to post up with friends, grab a bite from one of the food trucks (which are great as well), and hang for a while. If you're in Bernal or anywhere nearby, it's absolutely worth stopping in. read more

I've been to Baretbottle a few times. The first time I went was for a birthday party for a one-year old. I've been many times, including for a vinyl record pop-up event. A pretty great brewery all around from the atmosphere to the beer. They have a huge section of beer including a bunch of non alcoholic options which is great for so many people. I ended up getting the double hazy and it was a solid one: Fruity, juicy and a little funky which I like. There is plenty of seating but it fills up fast with how popular it is. Some of the spots are even couches but most are wood tables that extends to their outdoor area as well. There is a bunch of games from shuffleboard to pinball. The outdoor area isn't very big but has food trucks usually which is always a bonus. Parking can usually be found at the top of the hill where we saw tones of open spots. As far as San fransisco goes that's a rarely. Just make sure you are ready for a workout up you take that way though. Overall a great spot to hang out and get a beer read more

My go to place for headgames trivia, drinks are ample and the food is above average. The only issue is we always have trouble finding parking in such a crowded square. Service is friendly and if they run out of something they give an alternative with a heavier pour :). Light airy space with plenty of tables and seating arrangements. He continuously knocked out the line of patrons, always greeted us with a big smile and great attitude! His beer knowledge was great and he pours an even better glass of beer!! I've been to the Santa Clara Bare Bottle a few times and must say, with 8 sours on tap, the beer menu here puts that one to shame. It's no wonder, since this is the brewing site...but hey send some love down there! Having only experienced the SC location, I wasn't expecting this place to be so big and crowded. But, on a weekend afternoon it was a packed house, and a loud house too. It's a cool space with lots of games (pinball and some other machines) and a photo booth. Also dog friendly, so expect to see lots of cute pups. There are a few different seating areas inside - a couch section that seemed a little more cozy and intimate, the game section, and a bunch of big bench tables with more of a beer hall vibe, seating outside, and food truck on site - at least while we were there. We got beer flights which are $25 a piece, a hefty price tag until you see those pour sizes. Beer tenders were super nice, one even gave me treats so I could try to lure Hamachi, the brewery cat, over to get some love. Sadly he wanted none of it, but at least I got to see him from a distance and sort of got one pet in. Parking is pretty limited on the side streets, and they're super steep, but we got lucky and got a space under the overpass. Yet another brewery on my vast list that I have been wanting to try and always thankful when these beer tastings can happen. Fot Barebottle, Steve and I had the Macademia Dreamboat, a pastry stout. I do love having a pastry stout now and then. They are usually very rich and feels like I am sitting down to a dessert each time. Flavors to pick up with this beer is sweetness, maltiness, creaminess and caramel. On any given night, you can see a diverse crowd: families, work outings, sports fans, dogs, cats.. all are welcome! Tuesday night is trivia night. Come alone and join a group.
