I thought a pint was 16 oz. - They serve you slider size $20 burger, which hardly looks tasty - Since the burger doesn't come with any sides, everyone orders also a side of $9 fries, which is just a garlic bath. - So now you are down $30 for your mediocre slider size burger and fries combo, and another $8-9 down for your 14 oz beer, (looking at a $40 base price for your basic burger+beer outing) they add a default 5% to your tab for "employee benefits". I know here is SF and this type of behavior is common now. But this place is counter-order only and they only got like 2 servers. So I have to walk over to the counter, wait in line, order my 14 oz beer and small burger with fries, then you charge me a random 5% because it was too hard integrate this to your regular prices. Also, as the usual sneakiness of all of these places, that 5% is added after the tax, which makes it effectively more than 5%. - And as for the cherry on top, they let dogs go and sit on chairs indoors. Having dogs indoors is already a CA health violation, but here is SF, so what you gonna do. But having dogs on chairs is just another level. - Finally, on the only nice note about this place, the kitchen staff looked very on point and clean. Burgers not so much though. read more

I have had many delicious Fort Point beers and was glad to be stopping by during happy hour. It was packed on the Wednesday ahead of Thanksgiving. I will say that there were a lot of positives to the visit. The happy hour is great, there were a lot of beer options, and the happy hour snacks I tried were really yummy. The graphic design was cool and its location on Valencia is perfect for going to a concert, shopping, etc. During the visit there were also some challenges. There are a ton of large round tables at the front and often small groups take up most of them and they aren't the easiest to share. It was so busy that there was only one large table available at the back, filled with empty glasses and plates, and no where to bus them to. I tried to find a person to ask about the table and everyone was busy. Thankfully a two top became available and we sat there. I imagine due to the fact it was happy hour and the day before Thanksgiving was why it was both so busy and staff were swamped. Visited my on Friday around 5pm with a friend for happy hour. Bar was fairly busy, most tables were taken but was able to snag a spot by the window in a booth. Space is open and spacious with several smaller tables and larger tables that seems to be shared by groups which was nice. 3.5 stars. Fort Point Valencia has super cheap options for happy hour! I came here for the $2 oysters and $5 beers-on-tap. The establishment is quite beautiful and it's not too busy at all during happy hour. Oysters [3/5]: For the price, I thought the oysters were pretty good but not shucked very properly compared to most other establishments; out of the 10 oysters we ate, 90% had small bits of shell scattered throughout. Shrimp Cocktail [4/5]: A decent shrimp cocktail. Good sauce, shrimp felt a little dry and lukewarm. Crudo [3.5/5]: The choice of salmon for this was interesting, but the sauce and toppings were really good! Note: They are super strict about checking ID! I forgot mine and was denied beverage service (despite having a picture of my ID and passport on hand), and I later saw a cute old couple with gray hair get carded as well. :P read more

Just recently was the first time I had a beer from Fort Point. I am not sure how I missed this San Francisco brewery as far as getting it into my bookmarks but I am glad an opportunity arose for me to try it because I would have missed out! Steve and I had the Primo which was a pilsner that was highly enjoyable to have. It had a clean, dry and bitter characteristics. It was crushable which means it would be very easy to have more than one of these beers. What a great starting point with this brewery and I'd love another opportunity to try them again. It would be very tempting to get the same beer over again but I am curious to see what I think of their other beer styles also. read more

Dropped by on a Saturday night after dinner and was able to grab a seat easily for 2 people. Got a flight to share just to taste a couple of the beers, and they were all really great! My favorite that day was a Korean style lager in partnership with San Ho Won - I forget the exact name of the pour but it was really light and refreshing. The interior is a cool vibe with neon signs and dim lighting all around. The design of the brewery is very sleek and modern with a pretty open layout. Overall, decently spacious and would be a good spot to hang out with large groups of friends! It was Sunday afternoon, and it wasn't super busy so we were able to grab a table with the dogs, and enjoy a pint and some oysters. I usually go for their KSA but they had a Yuzu Radler that I had to try and it was hella refreshing. $8 pint for fresh local beer, well worth it. The oysters were tasty and I'd say comparable to most other spots. I do wish they had a more flavorful sauce or garnish, but it satisfied our oyster craving nonetheless. I saw they have a happy hour weekdays from 4-6, which had $5 pints, $2 oysters, and multiple seafood tapas for an affordable price. There's a few tables but it's not like a big ass space that can hold parties and gatherings. A lot of the focus is on the beers. It's expected, but many breweries care a lot more about the atmosphere it seems. The place isn't that big, so that could be why. Has a good variety on tap but not an overwhelming one with choices. It's about $8 a pint. A bit more expensive than many craft breweries. This is good beer though. Best one we had was the Animal. This is a tropical IPA. A stronger beer at 7.5% ABV. Helps you to get your money's worth. Also we got the Garlic Fries. It's $9 for a lot. These are about the only vegetarian food items to get it seems. Good location of a popular local brewery. Such a cool little spot with giant open areas! I love the neon blue they had lining this restaurant and bar. My boyfriend and I came for salsa on the streets since we were on Valencia Street and they closed down the street to traffic/cars. Bikes and people walking can still go through but we were able to get a refreshing beer and apple cider for me after we were done salsa dancing. Their bathrooms were a bit interesting. Lol. There were two actual bathrooms and then a basin of sinks that anybody could wash their hands in. Very inclusive or if you just need to wash your hands at least you're not taking/hogging up the bathroom. They tend to make the rounds when there is enough staff. They are knowledgeable and have always been friendly and efficient. Also, there's but 1 bar to order at so if you are going to spend 5 minutes deciding, they may put you on hold if someone else is giving them 'I'm ready' face. Ambiance- Brewery but with the clean girl aesthetic. Wide doors, natural light, and open windows almost make it feel like you are outside. Bathrooms are individual non-gendered stalls. Also most if not all of the chairs (high tops included) have backs! I feel like that's an SF rarity. Dog- I know you can have a dog hang outside with you when they have seats out. I got their double cheeseburger, holy f###ing s##t, It was amazing. It was juicy, well seasoned and the bun was nice and soft yet was able to stay together as I ate. My kid got the crab roll which was also fantastic. Ten out of 5 stars for the food. While I was underwhelmed by the yuzu radler and the mint pineapple cooler, the food was too awesome to ruin the visit. I'm a big fan of grabbing an outdoor table here on Saturdays when Valencia St is closed off to cars and sipping on a delicious sour with great company. Most recently, I tried a seasonal Halloween sour called Lawn of the Dead, which was delicious (although not too sour if you're looking for a super sour ale). I also had the Hirsute, which was more sour. I'm not a big fan of the food menu here after it was revamped to a more seafood focused selection because I don't usually pair beer with seafood. We loved the fish dip. The salmon roe was not necessary but tasty. Great way to compliment the beer with fatty deliciousness. The raw bar set was also delicious. Tasted fresh and good flavor. I think next time I would just get oysters though. The place wasn't crowded but we came on a Wednesday afternoon. I love the clean decor but wish they had TVs in case I wanted to watch a game.
