Quaint vibe with a deep funky bass line. I came in serenades by 80s times from the cure, to Bikini Kill to Joy Division. A Pilsner accompanied the DJ/bartender's excellent choice of tunes. Excellent service. Sitting along the great window and having a mushroom empanada rounded out the evening. Turning a lugubrious day into light and laughter.

Solid empanada spot This was really good; Chicken empanada Will be back soon to try some others

Got some beers from this Castro brewery. It looks more like a store with a few things on tap to drink inside. Woods isn't like many breweries, because it seems like a place to come and sample some, and then get a pack to take with you. Has a good variety to choose from. The prices are kind of high but typical for a small craft brewery such as this. A small place with a center table surrounded by refrigerators to get beers to go. It's more like a store than a brewery to be honest. They brew here but in small batches though. Explains the high prices for beers. It's about $8 a pint. Best one we had was the Super Cerveza. This is an Argentinian Lager. Many of these are Latin American inspired. This one had flavor even though it was a bit light. Best place in the Castro for beer. It's not like a typical brewery however. There's a few on tap and you can drink inside and then get a pack for whenever.

Cute spot right next to Dolores park. Sell beer and wine to have in or cans to take away. Hot and delicious empanadas also available. Limited n/a options, they were sold out of the Best Day when I went so I got a La Croix. A bit loud inside for conversation.

Sat by the window and people watched for about an hour. Pretty tasty beer but can't really remember all too much. Nothing too unique but I remember it being a good vibe inside with a lot of plants. Right next to Dolores park which makes it a great place to stop by.

Excellent beer and natural wine. Chill down to earth spot, it's not brewery vibes, nor is it wine bar vibes, it's its own thing. The folks who serve you are always nice and professional. This location is great too because sometimes you want to get a nice wine or some local beers for the park that they couldn't find just anywhere. I've been purchasing from Woods for several years from all of their locations and they always get two thumbs up from me.

Only rating their Empanadas in this review! The location is right across the still from the legendary Dolores Park. Every time my friends and I go to the park we have to pick up some fuel from this spot. The empanadas are the perfect hearty pocket food you need for a good time of debauchery at the park. My personal favorite in the mushrooms one and many of my friends who are not halal love the ham & cheese one. Came for the empanadas, and stayed for the beer... While there are many beverage options at the park and in the area, Woods has some awesome drafts available for under $10 (a steal in the city) as well as cans as cheap as $5! While parking for your vehicle is difficult in this area, you're not gonna want the responsibility of a car while enjoying this establishment!

This place is a true local gem. The staff is always friendly, and the regulars are just as welcoming--it has that laid-back, neighborhood feel that's hard to beat. Whether you're in the mood to enjoy a beer, strike up a conversation, or just people-watch, this spot never disappoints. It's also surprisingly family-friendly, which is a big plus. Always has and always will be one of my favorite places

Nice place right next to Dolores to grab beer or wine. They have a shaded outside patio which was nice on this (rare) hot SF day. You can purchase to have a drink there or purchase to go

    Mushroom Acelga Empanada
    Michael W.

Came by on a nice & sunny afternoon in Mission! Currently you can't sit inside, and they have a table right at the front door that you can order at. Sadly they were out of most of the empanada options, there was only 1 Mushroom Acelga Empanada left and they were out of the beef, chicken, and hame & cheese. Went for the mushroom, and the filling was certainly full of mushroom-y umami flavor! The style they go for is a thicker tougher crust, which personally I like a little less, but that's up to personal preference. I found that most of each bite was crust, whereas I'd prefer a lighter crust that is a base to the filling. The filling was good though and was mostly mushroom which I appreciated. I'd come back again (earlier) to try the other empanada flavors & grab some drinks for a nice day at Dolores!

No wonder why I wasn't able to find Woods Lower Haight...they haven't officially named it yet so it's not available as a separate business on yelp yet. Stopped by while we were exploring the neighborhood. The server was really friendly and took us to the patio out back. Great selection of beers but the empanada. Wow. Their empanadas are legit! So tasty and perfect to pair with my IPA. Will be back to check out the other empanada fillings!!!

Local Honey Herbal Ale (on tap)
    Chance K.

This brewery makes some really excellent beers -- and at this location they have a small selection on tap, as well as a variety of canned options! The Local Honey Herbal Ale is absolutely delicious. It's a great location being right next to Mission Dolores park with views of the iconic Mission itself. The outdoor seating area has the potential to be nice but is unfortunately not particularly comfortable, so next time I would likely opt to just pick up cans here and take them to the park to enjoy.

For so many years I have been wanting to relax and enjoy a cold one at Dolores Park. A couple weeks ago, during my latest visit to the Bay, I finally did this and made a quick stop by Woods Cerveceria to purchase a beer. The guy manning this market was super knowledgeable and helpful and friendly. I told him I wanted a local brew and that sours are my favorite. He suggested Woods Smooch and it's now one of my favorite brews. Thank you Woods for making my experience at Dolores Park such a positive one!

The bartender wasn't super busy either. The drinks were hit or miss, espresso martini they had on the menu is probably premade bc I asked to change the liquor and he said I wouldn't be getting the one that's on the menu. Tried the one on the menu and lowkey hated it, tastes watered down and bitter. Although I tried my friends "butterbeer" cocktail and omfg if you have to order something get that. It was so good. Drink costs were about $16-$18. For me, it was nice to try and a fun experience! But probably one and done ToT

I liked it as well, but the sauce was a bit tart for me. The cheese was also good, but not something I'd order again when compared to the spicy vodka and pepperoni ones. The taproom is quite spacious and could accommodate several large groups; however, the night of our visit was relatively quiet, perhaps due to the cold weather. Since there weren't any large tables, our group spread out over three smaller tables. As people came and went throughout the evening, it was convenient that we could each order our own beer and food at the bar. I selected an IPA from Fieldwork, a local favorite, and the beer stayed cold and refreshing throughout the evening. The food menu was limited, but I was craving something warm and salty to pair with my beer. For nearly $10, the fries weren't cheap, but the plate was piled high with some of the best fries I've had in a while. They were served piping-hot alongside two dipping sauces - aioli and ketchup. My friends sitting around me couldn't resist them either, and the mountain of fries disappeared in record time. The servers at the bar were very friendly and checked in on our group often. We spent a few hours enjoying our conversation and beer, overall having a fun, laid-back evening.
