Unsurprising review based on what every other review has said - the vibes and outdoor patio are incredible, especially when you find yourself here on a beautiful SF afternoon. We ordered the Local Honey, Pilsner, and one of the IPAs and really enjoyed all of them, especially paired with a few Lovely's burgers and fries. Obviously what you've also probably heard is true, any place with good beer, food, and vibes will be slammed in the city. We grabbed some beers and waited in line for about 25-30 minutes, which we didn't mind given the good drinks and beautiful weather. Thankfully people seemed to be thoughtful about not lingering *too* long at their tables, which is a bummer since it'd be such a good spot to stay at for awhile but also appreciated. This is my favorite spot in SF to grab a casual drink and bite to eat. All the beers are great, but my go-to is the Fuzz. They are partnered with Lovely's and the burgers/fries are delicious. It gets pretty busy on the weekends with a line down the block, so it's nice that you can order drinks while waiting for a table. All the Woods locations are great for beer and wine, but this one specifically is my favorite due to the burgers and the outdoor patio. read more

The fries (all we ordered) and drinks (we all got wine) were great. The seating situation left us a little confused and frustrated. There is a huge outside patio with lots of heat lamps and ample wind coverage. They ask you to first order a drink and then find a seat (which was not clear). Once you go outside you are focused on finding a seat (esp when it's crowded) that you don't see a sign that says "please wait here to find a seat". We ended up waiting in the line but there were some other people who didn't ...we let the waiter know and he said it wasn't his job to mediate whether or not people were following the rules (even though the person admitted they didn't know there was a line). Great beer, service, and vibes. Love the backyard outdoor space! Great for groups, families, kids, and also dogs (I love seeing families and kids here!) There's a fire pit and cozy bench seating and lots of space heaters. There'll be lines on weekends and Fridays when Lovely's (a great burger place in Oakland) offers burgers as a pop-up here. We went to this place cuz it was trending on tick tock and also to catch up with some homies. I can see why it was trending because the outdoor ambiance is nice! Lots of green with the standard gentrified light strings, they got heaters and benches with plenty of seating. The service is attentive once you get seated. It's a burger spot so be sure to flag them down for additional service for drinks if you're done eating. Also there's a station of napkins, and where you can put old dishes and water at the door just before heading to the patio entrance. The actual food was alriiiiight. It's a burger with sesame buns. The meat was actually the highlight while everything else was kinda eh. The meat was a thicc crispy edged boy that hit every savory taste bud and ensured I was clogging my arteries. I gave it 3 stars mainly because it's like a burger/drink hangout spot. You can bring your family here too which is kinda cool. Idk I just wasn't impressed by the burger as much as others so I just couldn't see myself giving it 4. The fries were coo. They have a lovely patio area with heat lamps. Was walking through the area with my friends after brunch and decided to stop in for a look see. Got some drinks from their decent sized selection. Ordered from the register first, then sit. Our drinks were brought out to us pretty quickly. Will definitely need to go back and try some of the food. read more

We were so excited that Lovley's is now available in Cole Valley! The vibe in the restaurant and outside is so cute! They even have a fire pit for those colder nights. We came here on a Thursday when the Holiday market was on. It was busy inside but didn't seem overwhelming. It took over an hour for us to recieve our food. I suppose the restaurant wasn't ready for a crowd but they kept quoting us incorrect times for when our food was going to be ready. Food was yum but have to give this 3 stars due to how long the food took. read more

So far we've only had drinks here. They opened this brewpub in the old Reverie space. They re-did the back patio space and added a fire pit. The service has been fast and very friendly. The food offerings should be starting in about a week. Expect burgers and fries and such. The outdoor space is a great draw for this place. It's also a great addition to the already fun neighborhood. They only have 4 taps right now but will have 12 soon. Also, interesting wines that they make themselves. The sparkling rose was a favorite of my wife's. We're are very happy they're open and ready for the beer and wine loving people of SF. read more

This place is awesome! Met some friends here, and love all of the lovely outdoor space. Very family friendly, there were lots of little kids and dogs around. We grabbed some beers and found an outdoor table to sit before ordering burgers. I feel like the quality for price point is great! We absolutely plan to come back. They have impossible patties as well, so non-meat eaters can still enjoy. I would recommend coming early on a weekend, as it gets packed quickly. read more

All Woods locations I've been to have been good experiences. The unique personality they infuse into each spot is really appreciated, not to mention the distinct styles of beer they offer. I checked out the Cole location recently and had the same reaction--another winner. This location is still in its soft-opening phase, so I'm not sure how much of what I note now will change down the line. For now, the things that struck me were: -Draft beer list definitely smaller than Lowside, for example. Maybe 4 or 5 total options. However, it was a good spread of styles and I think most people would find something they like. -The space looks really cool--going for a diner sort of feel. It also has a really nice outdoor spot in the back -I'm less keen on the food partner they chose here (Joyride at Lowside has a strong vegan game), but vegan offerings could of course change overtime so that's a bit of a TBD. And beyond that, this is just a great, central spot for a quick drink. Steps away from the N, multiple buses, and not far from Haight either. There is definitely a lack of quality beer places in this area these days (besides Alembic, another great spot), so I'm glad Woods took up this spot. read more

I love this new location of Woods!! Perfect central location, amazing outdoor space and fantastic food/drink. I really appreciate the abundance of patio heaters they have in their outdoor space, it makes it super comfortable to be out there during the colder months. The burgers from Lovely's are super good, one of the best smash burgers in the city. I like how their burgers come with all fixings, it's not like you have to get the "deluxe burger" at a higher price just to get lettuce on it. A great new addition to Cole Valley, and a really nice patio with heat lamps to keep you warm! I think the beer and wine menu at this location is a lot smaller than the Haight St location, but the quality remains the same! As a regular Woods customer I was pleasantly surprised with my first visit to the Cole Valley location. Amidst the busy dinner rush our service was fantastic. Employee Gia was extremely helpful and knowledgeable making our experience even better. The food was delicious and the wine perfectly crisp. The best way to enjoy my evening! SO HAPPY to have Lovely's in SF! I had gone to the original Lovely's in Oakland months ago and haven't stopped thinking about it since. They are a part of Woods Cole Valley and only serve food from Lovely's on Thursday-Sunday. There is a good amount of street parking around and bus stops for transportation. When you get there, you order drinks at the bar and a waiter will come by once you find a table to take your order for food, tables are first come first serve. My friend and I both got the Drive Thru and made it a double (always make it a double). Honestly my perfect burger. We got 2 orders of fries but honestly could've gotten away with 1, lightly crispy and not too thick. We came on a Friday night and surprisingly able to find a table inside, but there is a plenty of seating outside. The outside patio is beautiful and they have heating lamps if you're able to snag a spot. Will definitely be coming back soon!! read more

This business wed some organization!! I went Friday @ 5 pm to order burgers. First there was a huge line. I waited in it, not knowing that the food did not start serving until 5 PM. Totally my fault because there was a huge sign saying that but I placed my order. Waited about 30 minutes for the food. This is my second time visiting the Woods and have never had a problem ordering to go. I want the following Saturday with three people in the line at 6 PM and they refused to allow me to order a to go order for a neighbor and someone who lives two doors down it seems as if you would want to keep your consistent customers and neighbors happy. The guy told me we're way too busy. We don't have time for to go orders, which made no sense because the Friday prior on May 9 it was completely packed and at least 10 people in the line out the door. There's no consistency here you waste your time waiting in the line. You would think they have crack in their Beer The amount of parents and mothers that are hanging out in there. Please try to instill some rules that are followed around to go orders. read more

The sauces are perfect with the meat and the bun. The smash burger is crispy on the edges yet tender and juicy, never greasy. The fries are real potatoes and not overly salty. Woods has fallen into a bit of a trap. It's a place that serves alcohol, food on the weekends, and is family-friendly, all while trying to maintain a slightly elevated feel. As a parent, I appreciate that I would be able to bring my kid along with me to grab a burger and a glass of wine without being glared at by childless patrons. However, two weeks ago when I went here with my husband and our friends, we left our child at home with a sitter. It wasn't the strollers that were the problem, or the long, long wait for service. It was that about half of the back patio was taken up by a kid's birthday party. The kids (10? 11?) were not quite teens but certainly old enough to play crude games like sack tapping, ripping leaves from the foliage adorning the patio walls, and generally being unpleasant patrons. The parents were heard occasionally with a "hey, let's not" here and there, but for the most part were busy talking to each other and getting more wine. Frankly, this would've been uncomfortable even with our toddler in tow, let alone paying for childcare for a supposed adult night out. I get that Lovely's serves delicious food, but am I crazy for thinking this is an inappropriate venue for a child's party? Maybe I'm wrong, and maybe it was a one-off, but it makes me hesitant to return. read more
