My family, and I have been stopping back in ever so often lately. Today we were happily surprised with the new menu change. I am pretty sure most of the items that were previously taken off are back. I went immediately for the Southwest egg rolls. My Dad ordered the corned beef hash, and one of my boys had steak taco's. Not sure if that is new or not. He said he really liked them. I can't wait to get a steak salad again. I didn't get it today because I already had my heart set on the sweet chili wings, to go along with my egg rolls. The layout of the menu looks clean, and great. I snapped some pics, they were not the best as I had my 4 year old Grandson reaching across me every few seconds for his Dad across the table. I've been to Barger Grill for breakfast a couple of times and I love their hashbrowns. I was there for lunch and decided to try their patty melt and the side I chose was tater tots. This is the first restaurant I have been at in Eugene that serves a proper patty melt. They use a wonderful marble rye bread with a good melted cheese on a good hamburger patty. I was most impressed with actual caramelized onions ( I have tried a lot of patty melts in Eugene and Barger Grill is the only place that had proper caramelized onions). We walk in and my first reaction was 'phenomenal!' I was half expecting a corner store, brick wall grill with kitchen tables. Walking in though was very pleasantly surprising. The atmosphere is very relaxed and soothing. The floors are carpeted and clean and there are plenty of spacious tables and booths with ample walking room around them. The walls are covered with TV screens showing a variety of sports including some extreme sports. There is what looks to be a full bar as well as a large array of beers on tap. The menu is loaded with a good variety of solid pub & bar food along with pizza and pasta dishes. The service here is also excellent as we are greeted and seated with menus and our drink requests taken. The potstickers came out very crispy with the filling having an excellent flavor. This came with a ramekin of a sweet chili dip. We also tried the wings with buffalo sauce. These wings were large and meaty. They were delicious, fresh and had a nice amount of heat. There are napkin dispensers on the table, they were needed, those wings are good and juicy! The Philly came out perfectly done. The hoagie roll was toasted which really helped it all to stay together. The meat was a skirt steak that had an excellent char flavor. The onions and bell peppers were caramelized and the melted Swiss just brought it all together. A most satisfying sandwich overall! The fries were hot, crispy and addictive.... Bottles of ketchup are also available on the tables. The staff are very friendly and were constantly on the move. Service with a smile, dishes cleared, refills provided.... I think we have a new favorite go-to place for casual family and friends get togethers. read more

I stopped in here with my partner for an early dinner today. We had gotten food to go before (mac and cheese and the spicy chicken wrap, both good) and had a good experience so we wanted to try sit-down too. We were seated immediately and got to order pretty quickly, even though a few other tables came in at the same time as us. I got the club sandwich and my partner got the sausage flatbread. We also got the mozzarella sticks for an appetizer. The mozz sticks were delicious! They were thin, crunchy, and the cheese pulled perfectly. The ranch was also really good and I had enough leftover for dipping my fries in. The club sandwich was good - I replaced the Swiss with cheddar since I don't like Swiss. It was also a pretty big serving so I have lunch for tomorrow too. The flatbread was good and my partner finished it and said it was very filling. We got a slice of Samoa cheesecake and a slice of butterfinger cheesecake to go, so I'm looking forward to having those later tonight. I wanted the Twix cheesecake but they were out so I went for butterfinger instead. Our server was very nice and had no problem with my cheese substitution. Everyone working here seemed very nice and happy. The TVs were playing a football game, a random funny clips channel, and something else I didn't really catch. No closed captions. The place was clean but a bit loud even though it wasn't super busy. It was mostly older folks at the tables but there were a couple of louder guys at the bar watching the game. There's plenty of parking since this place is at the end of a shopping center and right next to a Winco, and there's a light right there so it's super easy to get in and out of. I didn't get a chance to check out the bathrooms but I'm sure they're fine given how clean everything else seemed. Overall we had a positive experience and will be back again. read more

Food is barely passable. I asked waitress how chicken and waffles were and she recommended. Waffles were cold and chicken was terrible. Usually, I order a BLT, because how can you mess that up, but they have. Food took a long time for pretty basic order. If they stepped up their food, they'd do better. I won't be back and I live very close. Too bad, they'd get a lot of my business if they were decent. Service very erratic and inconsistently cordial. I'm staying in the neighborhood tonight and went there for dinner. I ordered a pulled pork sandwich and side salad. Based on past experience with this type of place I was expecting a few pieces of tired iceberg lettuce and a little grated carrot, but the salad was actually fresh with a variety of veggies. The sandwich was one of the best barbecue sandwiches I've had in Eugene. Very tasty and the bun didn't fall apart! The service was decent, considering it's Valentine's Day. My only disappointment was that I was in the mood for a Spanish coffee and they didn't have the fixings for it. (It's not on the drinks menu.) It was tasty, but the steak itself was obviously frozen then reheated, They have a large selection of cheesecake, all of which are very good. They also have a very extensive selection of beef on tap. We dined in for burgers for two. There was something like string in the burger. I noticed before I ate it. The server never comes back to ask us how we were doing so I notified the manager. However they never said sorry or anything about it. I guess this joint is not for us. I forgot to take pics the plates before we ate so there is no proof but fries and onions rings are so small portions. The mushrooms burger was tasteless. We've been to the Barger Grill a number of times, and it's one of our favorites. Unfortunately the owner recently eliminated a few of our favorite menu items, like the cheese curds, southwest egg rolls, penne pasta with marinara, and coconut shrimp. They should bring those back. read more

I've been here several times and have always been satisfied with my order which is the hummus, pita and veggie plate. Service is inconsistent, but the servers are pleasant, once they get to you. The atmosphere is neighborhood/ local and there are tvs all over the place. read more

Usually I would give a 4-5, but not today. items we ordered did not come as ordered. hubbies breakfast was overcooked. My Reuben came out w no cheese and a couple strands of sauerkraut w out thousand island. The remake came out with double the few strands of sauerkraut (browned), but not enough for any flavor on toasted not grilled bread. The entire bill showed up at $40. They did attempt to fix, but manager didn't even know it came w warm sauerkraut. Even condiments at the table were empty. Tots were good but sandwich at a minimum should have been comped,because it wasn't right ever. plus why would I come back now???? If they correct this issue, I will update my post. read more

New go to for plain good old fashioned bar food. Great prices and fresh quality on all of the food I have had. It's a nice place to cozy up to the bar for a drink or beer and a huge selection of appetizers. I haven't tried the burgers yet, that's coming soon. It's also o e if only a few place in the neighborhood to get drinks and food. The other is the Keg. What I like about Barger is it's a little more grill than pub and is family friendly. No pool, and lotto is way back by the kitchen. They do have over 10 tv's I'm excited to try to place once the Ducks start playing. There is a beaver sign outside, but I won't hold that against them too much. read more

Middle of the road Grille with some surprises. It's exactly the type of place you'd expect adjacent to a Winco grocery store. The food itself is mixed, my wife swears by the grilled chicken salads, and loves the chicken tenders, which I do admit are tender and crispy so kudos to you. Then there is the Mac and Cheese which my only complaint is not enough salt, which luckily is an easy fix typically through the implementation of Parmesan cheese. But while on the topic of complaining about menu items this is my biggest. I personally feel violated by the abomination of the chicken sandwich I received, while fiery in name it was not in flavor. The chicken Sandwich also failed me after two bites dissolving into a soggy mess that no longer had shape or form of its past glorious self. The sandwich had forgotten what it meant to stand tall and strong in the face of adversity, it's crispy skin buckled as it's bun melted inwards on itself. I'm sure it felt it's own disgrace, a type of disgrace where one can't look into the mirror anymore. (Mind you this was all on a delivery order that managed to take longer route to my house then necessary. We might visit them in person and enjoy food how it's meant to be served. I'm only giving this place three stars for one reason. I order to go and all I got were tots and clam chowder. I was told it would be 10 minutes, but I think someone forgot to get my order because 25 minutes later it was ready. The chowder was really good. So disappointed in this grill and taphouse after a spontaneous decision to try someplace new. I had the fish and chips and once first arrived I was happy because they appeared crispy and fresh. Turns out very greasy, coated my mouth with grease I could not wash out. Upset stomach after getting home. My husband had the shrimp--he said no flavor and a waste of money. Our waitress never returned, we were never asked if we would like another beer/wine. They advertise a beer at the front door that they no longer serve. So disappointed as they were busy and usually that is a good indicator. Windows need to be cleaned. read more

2 is a bit of the stretch! To note: I can't eat much and asked immediately if I could order off the kids menu, the young lady said Yes! (I had not looked the kids menu yet! as my granddaughter was coloring) The server then looked at the kids menu, and noticed it was for 12 and up! I said no problem I would order off the regular menu the young lady said no! that it was her error and this time I could order of the kids. That was very nice and appreciated. While the server was friendly and honored her word, she was not very attentive once our order had been placed and we received our food (they were not busy at all). Another server brought our food and this why 2 stars only. Nobody checked on us and we had to flag down our server because! I had ordered sliders there was no flavor at all then adding insult to injury the cheese was missing (Noting I am a huge slider fan and these were in fact the worst) period end. My granddaughter order the chicken nuggets! at over $7 bucks for fry's both my granddaughter and I were shocked when they served her flipping of all things Dino Nuggets!! My grandkids don't eat these garbage nuggets at home they all say they are gross! This is a new place! they went through a lot expense to remodel! The menu is huge! therefore the product quality suffers greatly as in the product itself is cheap! My suggestion! They should toss the current menu! Offer a few select options using better quality products. For example Serve good quality beef for the sliders and burgers. Serve good / possibly hand made chicken strips as opposed to cheap Dino Nuggets!). I was excited about a new place close to home! other than McDonald's or Carl Jr. Frankly the burgers at Carl's Jr are better in both flavor and product quality.
