Arugula and beet salad, we ordered the small portion.

We shared the Longbridge Hacker pizza and I was very much looking forward to try their naturally leavened crust (like sourdough). However, the crust was way too thin toward the middle of the pizza to even hold the toppings. It just flopped over. It was maybe a mm thick?? Toward the outer half of the circle, the dough was good consistency and quite delicious. The arugula salad was nice. With some orange slices and lots of cubes of beets, pickled red onions and sunflower seeds. Too much oil in the lemon vinaigrette IMO since it all tasted a bit oily. The beers were excellent. Service good (order at counter and they will bring it to you). Parking in the neighborhood, a bit sketchy.

A top shelf pizza joint. if you are a fan of beer they have plenty of options on tap. the atmosphere is perfect because you have an outdoor area and indoor. i wish they had a few more TVs that could scope each of the seats. the pizza was fantastic, that crust was made to perfection. the customer service is great and would come back if ever back in town.

My partner and I stopped in here for lunch today. It wasn't immediately obvious where to park but we ended up street parking as the lot across the street was full. We placed our order at the bar and then seated ourselves with our number. We did a build your own pizza with mushroom and bacon. We also got the mac and cheese because I always have to try it when I see it on the menu. The pizza was good. I wish it had more cheese and was a little less crispy, I'm not a huge fan of blackened crust but some people like that and that's okay! The mac and cheese was really good and was also a good size for what you pay. The bathroom was very clean. It is gender neutral and has four private stalls, something I wish more places did. The restaurant was also clean and huge with lots of seating. There are small tables, big tables, and booths. They have TVs and music going but there are also some quieter corners you can sit at if you want. The bar seemed to have good selection but we don't drink so we didn't get anything. We both recommend this place! The pizza is great and the atmosphere is good.

What a find - great Pizza and wonderful service. If you like New Haven style Pizza, you have to visit this place. The food and beer choices are perfect and our server David was awesome. Add this place as a must if you're in Eugene, OR

Food: My partner and I asked some REI employees (s/o if you guys are reading this for a 10/10 recommendation!!!) about their favorite local restaurants while we were visiting from California, and this one was one of them. We got the Vegan Pizza and it was PHENOMENAL. I'm not even a huge pizza person, and I thoroughly enjoyed every bite. It's a thin crust and the toppings are high quality so it doesn't feel heavy or greasy at all. The vegan pesto was amazing. It was a very pleasant and delicious pizza. Service: We ordered on the phone and even though they had just put it through the oven when we arrived for pick up, we didn't have to wait too long. Ambiance: More of a sports bar type of restaurant. Not our scene, but it seemed clean and well maintained from what I saw while we were waiting. $25 for a pizza that is shareable between 2-3ish people.

We stopped in to have dinner because this was a location that was giving back to the association we belong to. I ended up meeting the owner who was very friendly and helped us decide which pizza to order. We were worried the pizza would be too big for just 2 of us, but it was delicious and we apparently were more hungry than we thought because we devoured it.

Arugula and beet salad and smoked wings

This place was popping on a Friday night but its bright and open interior makes it feel bigger and super family friendly! They have an area by the front that's more sports bar like, but there are also different arrangement of tables for all group sizes with wooden dividers in between to create booths. I always love a good picnic table seating and it worked really well for our group of 4 adults, a baby in a stroller and a toddler needing a high chair. You order and pay for drinks and food at the counter in the front and get a number for your table. Their tap and drink list is extensive and goes great with all the food they are serving. We really enjoyed the beet salad, smoked wings (a slow burn type of spicy in a good way), and two different types of pizzas - generous portions with leftovers to take home. They also had some great gluten-free options for our friend including the Mac and cheese and the meatballs. Good food, good food and good vibes here! Definitely recommend a visit if you are a pizza lover!

    Honestly. Get some.

i've been wanting to go down to the wheel for over a week and we finally pulled it off yesterday. There are little isolated spots where you can be away from the music and the TV, and then there's a table where we sat to watch Justin Herbert and the Chargers play football. These folks make their own beer, all of which very good. And they make I think what is the best pizza in town. It's my favorite pizza anyway. we had the Longbridge hacker yesterday, and it was sensationally good. Perfect crust, loaded with flavor. This is a great place for families or for dates or for people like us.

Ask the Community - The Wheel Apizza Pub

    Is there any outdoor dining?

yes. though calling it "dining" might be a little bit of a stretch. Picnic tables on uneven ground, plus a tent. Perfectly fine seating outdoors.

    When is happy hour?

We do not have special deals, but 2-5 weekdays there are plenty of choices to sit and quick friendly service! Pizza slices go until 3, but there are usually some left until around 5. Cheers!

Does this place work with small kids?

    Kids are welcome.

You order with the bartender and then go pick up your food at the truck when they buzz you. I got the Viking Dog which was a very tasty sausage topped with braised red cabbage. There was a tiny drizzle of lemon aioli and crispy sauerkraut (which tasted like crispy onions). It was served with steak fries and we asked for curry aioli on the side. Everything was so good. My dad really enjoys the beyond burger and I got to try the battered fish. Really good food coming out of that truck! They have two spaces where a band can play: inside or out. Putting all of that to the side we went on and ordered a pretzel that came out dry as a bone and loaded fries with little flavor ( seemingly impossible with all the stuff added on top but it might be the cheese) The one upside is the vibe outside. there are picnic tables and trees that make you feel transported to somewhere else. The outside was beautiful but they definitely have some kinks to work out before i would consider going back.

The interior design is cozy and booths are a nice way to catch up with a small group. I think they're still working on food consistency and getting the menu down pat. My meat-eating friends were enjoying the wings, but one larger wing had blood inside; to the credit of the server, he took it away and brought another plate of wings on the house, and no problems with the second plate. I got the cauliflower with salsa macha. The general flavor and idea for the dish were good, but the dish was SO salty that it was hard to eat. I found myself scraping off the salsa macha to create bites that didn't sting the tongue (I was pretty hungry). It seemed like someone wasn't tasting each component of the dish in the kitchen and sent out a plate that was almost too salty to eat. There aren't a ton of vegetarian options here and it's pricey, so I'm not sure I'll return. I miss the old Coldfire with DOP.

When I was home about a year or so after HDC opened their spot in Whiteaker (their first in Eugene), my friend and I felt compelled to visit, and we didn't even need to worry about finding a cab! Of course the brown sugar bourbon was the number one thing we wanted to try here. It's what put HDC on the map, right? We each ordered a flight. Mine was the aforementioned BSB, a huckleberry vodka, and the BSB 103--a higher proof version. Even if I got more bang for my buck with the last one, I didn't like it as much; for me, the flavor didn't surface as much in the 103 for what I could tell. I liked the others a lot; the huckleberry vodka was good, and I bought a bottle of the original recipe Brown Sugar Bourbon to take back with me. When we were here it was pretty quiet--only one other table filled up whilst we were here. (And this was pre-pandemic, 2017.) The bartender was helpful and willing to answer the questions we had about both the flight options and the cocktail I added on. The space is nice and clean, an upscale tasting room in the heart of Eugene. Eugene is growing up a bit, and I love that my hometown has some cool places to be. Will visit again when I'm home.
