I went here on the 4th of July which is hella less annoying than 4th of July in the Mission in SF aka my hood. So my beloved Lotus Garden aka vegan Chinese food that is fab that I would frequent in the day when in lived in Eugene was closed on the 4th despite their website saying they were open and walked there to find out they only are currently doing take out. Damn like Kendrick Lamar So I walk back to Big City Gaming and the friendly bartender tells me that they have an all vegetarian menu even though it isn't pure veg aka they have non veg too. It's all good baby, baby. I am starving after walking heaps in the hard sun like Eddie Vedder. So I get some water and check out the all veg menu. Upon the bartender's suggestion I go with the jackfruit tacos. They were quite alright aka two corn tortillas filled with generous portions of fajita style grilled jackfruit, topped with cabbage, pico de gallo and our signature avocado crema sauce sprinkled with queso fresco. I decided to add vegan crema and non-dairy cheese for a buck. It hit the spot. I did feel like a fish out of water with all the screens showing baseball as basketball is my jam. I am a huge Warriors fan and sad we lost Donte yet he is going to the Knicks. Cool atmosphere with screens for sports and games such as shooting basketballs in the hoop etc. Recommended for sports night! read more

You can watch the latest sporting events, drink and beer and they are cool with you smoking cigars in the patio. I really enjoyed my time here. The service was amazing as well the owner even sat and talked with my wife and I for quite a while. I highly recommend coming here for UFC as well as they show all the PPVs here. Today I reached out to this local spot to see if they would have the fights on and allow cigars on the patio. They were soo prompt to respond, which I was pleasantly surprised. Mind you the reason I remembered this local place is during our recent Ice storm they kept heaters going and food for those who needed it and shelter. I wanted to go spend my money somewhere that definitely deserves it! When we got there they were so kind, the place is sooo clean and has everything! We were able to sit on the patio and watch the UFC fights, have food and drinks. We ended up staying for hours we liked it so much. The owner stopped by and was very kind and so friendly. ALSO their pretzel.. you have to get!! I'm a pretzel person and obviously a foodie; best one I've ever had!!!! With the beer cheese sauce with just a hint of spice! This place is so current with tons of screens everywhere, lots of games to play, all different sorts of seating, a full bar, the list goes on. I would highly recommend. Came in on the tail end of a Sunday night- just wanted to play some arcade games and have a beer/cider. All the TVs were off and chairs were on tables which made it feel like they were closing for the evening. Plus, there wasn't nearly as many arcade games as it seemed and it seemed like half the games had an out of order sign. Giving it 3 stars because the bartender was super friendly, the music was at a super comfortable level (not to loud to have a conversation) and the place was clean. I love that more interactive places are popping up in Eugene. This was my first time at Big City Gamin and I had a great experience! They have tons of TV screens, couches, food, and a bar with cocktails and an extensive, well curated tap list. That makes it the perfect spot to go and enjoy a sports game with friends! They also have table seating and outdoor seating with heaters, so it's nice there are options depending on how large your group is. I really enjoyed the claw machines, Big Buck Hunter games, and ski ball which is fun to partake in while enjoying a beverage or just hanging out. One of the only places in town to have UFC fights every weekend. Gets super crowded though and can sometimes forget what you ordered but bartenders are amazing! Fries were pretty bomb too. Got a cool outside seating area as well. read more

This place has always been a favorite for the kids, they have game consoles with tons of games so everyone can play games and hang out. There's a big wrap around porch that's covered and it's one of the coolest areas in any bar in town. The staff is really friendly and the drinks are really good and well priced. Recently they changed up all the food and they have a big menu with all kinds of fire food. I tried the chopped cheese and it was insanely good, one of the best sandwiches I've had, period. My husband and I used to come in here fairly often when they just sold video games, and we always found great stuff. I'm not a big video game nerd, but I would find things for my old school Game Boy Color. Since the good ol' days they've done a remodel and are now a bar with a restaurant and you can rent TVs/games to play. This sounded like a fun idea for a date night. We came in a couple of days ago, ordered pizza and then went to play some games. The restaurant and the bar and two separate entities within the building, so they kind of freak out a bit if you try to order anything from the wrong side. I thought the woman at the pizza counter was having a small stroke when we tried to order sodas from her, even though the machine was literally part of the pizza counter. Now we go to the bar and order sodas, paid a higher price for two that included gaming. The bar tender seemed to have no clue what he was doing, or he was just shady, and I'm not entirely sure which one I feel like is correct. But I'll explain. My husband ordered the two sodas and paid $3 each for them, the gaming was included in this price. Nobody said refills were extra. Until after we had gotten them and went to play video games. We had our sodas while eating outside and then stopped to grab refills before starting to play games. Then the bartender's memory suddenly returns to him. But instead of owning his mistake and letting us know for future reference, he demands more money right there. That's one of those things where if you screw up, that's not my problem and I shouldn't have to pay for. Learn to use your words before there is a problem. My husband paid for both of us to play, and when we sat down, he only acknowledged my husband by giving him a controller. So again, I paid for something that I wasn't even given the option to utilize. Followed by the bartender demanding more money from us for the soda that we weren't even told about. That seems super shady to me. Normally I wouldn't care if this was a legit thing, had he either said something or just owned the mistake. I know what those fountain soda drinks actually cost the company too, so this was even more shady to me because they were out absolutely no money by just owning the mistake and dealing with it. Normally when an employee makes a mistake, the business takes the financial hit and it falls under the category of the cost of doing business. Instead the bartender was happy to leave a bad impression that he was shady. I wasn't impressed. My husband played and had fun, but I wasn't impressed. The music inside is extremely loud, and games cannot be heard, plus people yelling over the music really takes away from the fun. Conversations are out of the question until you want to scream at each other. The food wasn't bad. Not great, but not bad. I hated the garlic knots, and the pizza was three stars. Although it has given me the worst gas and cramps since eating it, and continues because we had leftovers. My husband said we would go back once just so we could play a specific game together, but after that he didn't want to return. Now that says something to me! He's normally much more forgiving of things than I am, so when he says he's not interested in returning, it was definitely less than a stellar experience. Thankfully because of another review, I found a better recommendation to try out instead of returning here even the once that my husband suggested. So no, definitely not returning here again. We have been here several times. We even bought a "sweet deals" gift card. There is no food really, but you can bring outside food. There are a whole lot of TVs but they are all on the same channel. Great in concept, horrible in reality, bc if you want to watch anything specific on one of these multitude of tvs spread around the perimeter of the space they seem to all be on the same channel... all the time. Nice... I sit at a table and the variety is null. Really really. All those TVs only mean you can watch one channel on all of them and not what you want on the one in front of you. lol read more

Home Team Kitchen which operates inside the bar is run by an incredibly talented and thoughtful chef. Pablo makes a sincere effort to include vegetarian and vegan options that are actually tasty-which is no easy task. All of the bartenders are friendly and even the regulars here have good vibes. I go every thursday for Trivia and this is the only place I'll go for a burger. I'm an extremely picky eater- but something about the way Pablo cooks...you can taste the effort and care. Service is quick and Pablo always makes an effort to check in on his customers and ask how they're enjoying their food. Fight nights are always a hit, Comedy shows happen regularly, this place really does have it all. The biggest compliment I can give this place is- it feels like home. Used to be so cool back in the day when they sold retro games, but hey- times change. Came in here for the first time since they basically turned into a "sports bar". I dunno bout all that "sports bar" stuff. They have tvs everywhere that display sports. So, I guess that means they are "sports"? Same thing with "arcade". It takes a LOT more than 7 games for me to qualify a place as an arcade. They have a few large flatscreens in arranged seating areas to rent consoles for play. Thats fun, but feels like a second thought. Basically, I felt like all this place was, wuzza big room with seats to sit and drink. Everything else is an after thought. Floors are super nice, but the walls felt dirty with scuff marks everywhere. The bathroom is laid out very odd. Toilet is angled at 45-degrees in order to fit. Not a huge problem, but they have a mirror in there with it that is waaay too long. Its the strangest thing in the world seeing my flacid member in the mirror as it pisses into the toilet. read more

I chose this bar over my usuals one night because my friends and I wanted to play games and drink. We got there at 11 and asked for a tv thay was available, we wanted to play mario cart but they only had 2 controllers, we worked with it and said we can trade around. One of the controllers were broken so we went back at 11:10 to try getting something different, to help we brought back everything. Was told it'll just be a minute, I asked again at 11:30, just a few minutes. Asked again at 12 and was told its last call anyways and he just shook his head no without looking at me. Was really disappointed I went here to play games and drink, but spent the whole hour trying to ask someone to set up a game, i tipped 10% but I wish I didn't, I felt like I wasted my night and would of been better off buying a pack of beer and going home. I never even got a mix drink and every time I asked for anything I was treated like I was nuisance for wanting anything, a tap drink or a game, the only two things I asked for take minimal effort and I would of been set for well over an hour and quite happy. Like many other buy / sell / trade media businesses, this locally owned establishment offers a large selection of new and used video games. The atmosphere is laid back and I found the staff to be polite and knowledgeable about the gaming industry. For the retro collector they are well stocked on cartridge games for much older systems (go Nintendo64!). They also allow you to rent and play games in-store on one of their many flat screens. Pricing for new titles was about MSRP average though you can pick up a used title on the cheap. Buyback prices/offers were mediocre at best, but that's to be expected for a company like this. Overall I found my experience at Big City Gamin' to be pleasant and would recommend it to both the average and hardcore console gamer. read more

It's always been great, but has recently been remodeled and has much more seating and extra large tvs. The food, especially the pizza (New York style), garlic knots, and salad, is delicious and cheap! This place was Amazing!!! I brought 4 young boys there for my sons 9th birthday and they had a blast! The Pizza was delicious New York style the selection of Taps was pretty large as was the game selection. From the very beginning we were treated like honored guests, the owner explained everything and set up the games for us he was super nice and patient even with four rambunctious boys all talking at the same time. I used to really, really like it here, if for nothing more than their super-cool shelving, designed by some awesome artist. They had a great selection of Playstation 2 and XBox 360 games, and the staff was friendly. They had couches in the back and people would play games there, I guess. I was more of a shopper. Recently, they remodeled, and added in some more places to game, beer taps, and integrated with the pizza place next door. It's a cool idea, but it was (seemingly) at the cost of most of their game selection. As someone who's not really able to afford gobs of new games, I really depend on being able to browse shelves. And, I just kinda like supporting local businesses. Lately, it hasn't really been worth it to stop in. Used to be that they also had books and lots of other neat stuff to look at, not really the case anymore, and it's a bummer. I also really liked most of the staff, but recently everyone seems a little more grouchy and I've seen some people getting snarky treatment or even refused service.
