I have a Yorkie/Maltese (14 1/2) and a Maltese (4) that I take in every four weeks. I also had a Yorkie/Maltese that passed four years ago that went here for years as well. They area also always on time with your animals and they will let you know that instead of two hours (for my two small dogs) it will be two hours and fifteen minutes that day. When I show up, they are ready at that time. I have been to groomers that would keep my girls for FIVE hours or more, and just tell you they will call you when your animal is ready. That's just ridiculous. Both of my girls get excited when I tell them I am taking them to the groomers. They used to shake when they would first come out of the carrier, but that was just due to the strange scents and what not. Now they come out wagging their tails and crawl right to Taylor and Joe. I am constantly asked where I take my girls because their grooming is so good. I HIGHLY recommend Calming Nature. You won't be disappointed. Yes their prices have gone up, but they did not raise their prices for the longest time AND they are still cheaper than any place anyone I know takes their dogs.That is NOT a reason to give them a bad review. They also have their cancellation policy posted, they are a business and have people wanting appointments. If you cancel last minute, they can't fill that appointment. A lot of places do the same thing whether it be salons or doctor offices. Remember, if it's your first time there it might take a few times to get exactly what you want if you are picky about what you like. Joe is so great about listening to what you like, or what you don't like and will implement it for you. I have asked him to try something new just to see if I would like it and realized I did not in fact like it at all. It just ended with a "let's not do that again." Just be honest and if you don't like something and let him know if you do.

I found K9 Grooming through Yelp and I'm so glad I did. We drive 30 minutes to get here and I won't lie, the salon is pricey. It usually costs me around $300 with trip for a standard Aussie and mini Aussie regular groom. But it is absolutely worth it. My dogs are my babies. We have a 6-year-old Aussie we've had since he was a puppy, and we recently added our rescue mini Aussie who is now 8. Our rescue has extreme anxiety from her past trauma, including living in a hoarding situation. The team here treats both of our dogs like family. I've never once worried about the way they're cared for. The salon is spotless. Anytime I walk into a grooming place that smells like urine or feces or is chaotic with constant barking, it's an instant red flag for me. K9 Grooming is completely different. It's clean, calm, and you can even watch your dogs being groomed so there's no mystery about how they're treated. Recently our neighbor warned us about fleas in the area, so I called K9 as a concerned pet mom. They were so helpful. They told me they'd start with a regular bath and, if they found any fleas, they'd do the treatment and call us so we could prep the house. Sure enough, they found a few a went forward with the flea bath. They provided me with helpful information and next steps. I sincerely appreciate the level of care, transparency, and customer service the staff provide. I could never take my dogs anywhere else after coming here.

She gets so excited when we pull in, pulls us to the door and doesn't even turn around to say goodbye when the lead her out into the dog area. I have no hesitations at all leaving her here since I know she is so happy to be there. The staff is super friendly and you can tell that they love dogs. I would definitely recommend this place to anyone. We do not have her do play time with the other dogs, but she is in her own fenced area and runs around all day. Do note their hours before you go to drop of, or pick up your dog. They are closed for an hour for lunch. I remembered this the hard way by forgetting once and having to sit out in the hot sun for 50 minutes until they opened again!

We get him home, and he is throwing up WORMS! We have another dog at home and Carrie knew this and let us adopt this dog anyway. Took him to the vet with the vomit sample and a stool sample to play it safe. Turns him out there were TWO types of worms! Shelters are supposed to make sure all that is cleared before adopting out pets. Not only is she putting sick pets up for adoption, but putting my other pet, who is completely healthy at risk! Shaggy Shack Pet Resort returned my severely arthritic, disabled dog to me smelling of pee, a…read moresticky underbelly from laying in her pee, raw spots on her elbows, an elbow with dried blood, inflammation and swelling of both her elbows so severe that it shook with each step my dog would take, and pee on her food container. I put my dog into boarding August 17-21, 2023 with Shaggy Shack; Thursday afternoon to Monday morning. My dog has a muscle dystrophy disorder that effects anywhere in her body that has collagen. At less than 2 years old, she has severe arthritis in her elbows. I let Shaggy Shack know of her disorder prior to leaving her with them. I even wrote a note and taped it to her food container. I spoke with 2 workers, 1 manager, and then finally the owner. None of the stories matched with the others. When I spoke with Tonya, the owner, I explained how I received my dog and that her inflammation could only be that severe if she was not given her medication. Tonya said "the girls could have missed some medications, we're not perfect." I asked for a refund, to which she said "we won't be administering a refund because that would be admitting we did something wrong." My dog was returned to me with dried blood and sticky from pee, how is that right? I have no answers I'm satisfied with, only multiple stories of what may or may not have happened to my disabled dog. At this point, I paid to have her be grossly neglected. Tonya provided a med sheet 4 days later to try to claim they gave my dog her medication, even though my hydrotherapist (who I had look over my dog for other injuries) agreed her condition could've only been that bad if she had not received her medication. Tonya shifted the blame to me, saying "You chose to bring her to a highly stimulated setting instead of staying home with your handicapped pup." I trusted Shaggy Shack to care for my dog as if she were your own, as the website claims the business would do. I will not make that error again and suggest others not to as well. Do better.

I would highly recommend though. I like our home spot, but his one has something very special about it. Bernard loves playing with dogs, but when its raining at our normal spot he ends up sitting inside with some outside time and not a lot of dog socialization... or at least that is my guess. When he comes home on rainy days he is not all that tired. In fact he seems like he just hung around all day instead of playing. The first time we took him to Shaggy Shack it was raining and I thought he was going to come home not tired at all. Oh man was I wrong. He was knocked out and it was in a way that leads me to believe not only does he get to play with dogs, but he has moments of thinky time or play time with humans. I cant say for sure, but I love how he comes back those days. Clearly wore out from a day of fun. I really like this place but unfortunately its a bit of a drive to do daycare daily especially when we have an on base option right next to my wife's work. I will say though they are definitely going to be our go to for boarding. The one major downside to our normal spot is there are no options for drop off pick up on Sundays. A lot of our trip or time where we need to board is Just saturday evening. This gives us the opportunity to board and pick up when we return and not have to board an extra night. In addition we had a last minute boarding need when I was too lazy to get boarding scheduled at our normal spot and it worked out perfectly. I highly recommend this place. Its not on base so anyone can use. The place is huge. Staff knowledgable and friendly and overall I have nothing but positives about here. I wish their location was closer, but thats not a negative, just a desire to make my life easier.
