TERRIBLE!! I scheduled a grooming appointment for my dog and was originally quoted $55. There were communication issues from the start. I was first told to come in on Friday, then later told the appointment was actually for Saturday. On the day of the appointment, no one showed up and I received no communication. I even sent a message that morning asking whether I should bring my dog at a different time and never received a response. After waiting most of the day, I finally reached out expressing my disappointment. Several hours later, I received an apology stating that I had been left off the schedule and that the groomer had experienced a migraine that morning. While I understand emergencies happen, a simple text or call would have prevented a lot of frustration. To make up for the inconvenience, I was initially offered $20 off a service that I was told normally costs $70, bringing the total to $50. However, I reminded them that I had originally been quoted $55, which would make the discounted price $35. After I pointed this out, I never received a response. Everyone makes mistakes, but the lack of communication, scheduling confusion, no-show appointment, and failure to follow up afterward left me with a very disappointing experience. I had a really bad experience here. The service was disappointing from start to finish. I showed the groomer a picture of exactly how I wanted my dog to look, and the result was completely different. it looked nothing like my dog. When I picked my dog up, he was extremely scared and not acting like himself, which was very concerning to me as a pet owner. You can tell when something isn't right, and this didn't sit well at all. This is WALL-E, I've taken him to so many grooming salons and each one has told me that he get aggressive/ overwhelmed and he's just bad to groom, which always would make me super sad because he's such a sweet dog he's never shown any signs of being aggressive to any other dogs. So I was expecting the same comments when I picked him up! To my surprise they send me a text of him playing with their dog Nala, and updating me that he's been a god boy so far and he's just a very curious dog. Which made me so happy to hear! I recently took my dog to Barking Good, expecting a professional grooming service. Unfortunately, my experience was far from satisfactory. When I picked up my dog, I was shocked to see that he still looked dirty. He was covered in dandruff, and his fur was full of loose, cut hair, as if they hadn't even attempted to bathe him properly. It was clear they hadn't blow-dried him either, which is a basic part of any grooming service. To make matters worse, when my boyfriend picked him up, his t-shirt ended up covered in dirt and fur from our dog. My car was so dirty with fur and dandruff I was so upset. This was not what I expected after paying for a grooming session. It seemed like they skipped the bathing and drying steps entirely. They didn't clean his ears either. Honestly, I asked for a full grooming service and it looked like they only gave him a cut. I understand that grooming can be challenging, especially if a dog is particularly dirty, but leaving him in such a state is unacceptable. I am very disappointed with the service at Barking Good and will not be returning. I hope they improve their standards for the sake of other pet owners and their furry friends. A waste of 85 dollars because I had to go home and bathe him myself with the help of my amazing boyfriend who suffered the whole car ride. If I could give this review 0 stars I would. I brought-in Salem (my one year old female Belgian Malinois rescue, who I've had for a month) for a groom on Saturday, 17 September 2022. Before bringing in Salem, she was, in my opinion, overly licking and gnawing herself (Before you come screaming at me - I'm changing her flea and tick medicine) and her Vet found some superficial dermatitis so prescribed her a 10-day cefpoderm Rx as her treatment. Salem and I were professionally and happily greeted, we discussed Salem's licking, gnawing, and her superficial dermatitis on her haunches, given a summary of what to expect (the products they'll be using, how long her visit would take, that they would call me when Salem was ready, etc...), and was completely satisfied with Salem's grooming and care. When I picked up Salem, she was her normal self; which made me happy, because part of this visit was to gauge her separation anxiety and how she'd react to being left with someone else. Since the visit, Salem's not licking nor gnawing herself as frequently; maybe 2-3 times per day since the visit. So long as Barking Good maintains this level of professionalism, Salem and I are definitely coming back. read more

I have two pit mixes with short hair that are fairly easy to clean, trimming their nails is another story. We tried our luck with our neighborhood groomer and in the last two years they have been very accommodating and understanding of their differences and needs. We are very happy with them and our dogs don't mind (as much) when it's bath time. Turn around time is usually a little over an hour. I would recommend this business to anyone, especially the ones that haven't tried using a groomer. They are patient and will work with you on getting your dog calm and actually not dread bath/grooming time. Wether it's scheduling you at a less busy time, or recommending certain shampoos or using your own products. I took our 18 pound rescue & 100 pound golden retriever to Barking Good last Monday. I had reached out to Happy Hounds but they were closed & recommended I call their sister property, Barking Good in Port Hueneme. They did a fabulous job on both the dogs, bathing, trimming, & combing. Also trimmed nails & expressed glands on the little one. I picked them up & they smelled great & had cute bandanas on! I have a Great Dane and she is legit an asshole!! She's hard to handle and doesn't enjoy bath time. She can stink something awful and it's hard to give her a good bath. It's been two times now that they schedule an appointment and confirm it and then not show up on the day of. What kind of business schedules appointments and does not notify customers that their business will be closed? It's absolutely ridiculous and so unprofessional, also looks like I'm not the only one this has happened to. Do not take your dog here, save your time and money and find someone more reliable. They also never leave my dogs super clean or cut well, their hair is uneven, don't clean the sanitary area, and dont trim their nails.
