Recently took my dog here to get a 1inch trim all over he's a puppy who was in need to be groomed. It was his first time & I had extreme high hopes for this place especially after the owner telling me she was a k-9 specialist! I dropped him off & asked how long she said about an hour he was done in about 40min give or take, when I got there to pick him up, she told me she didn't take card, zelle, square, cash app, only cash. I then had to leave & go to the bank & get cash! I drive back & the whole time looking at my dogs cut! His cut was extremely uneven & very choppy he had long tuffs on his ear & all over, rather then say something because she was clearly busy w/two other dogs, I went about my way. But I didn't get very far, when I realized my dog was missing his collar...omg back to the shop ago this is now the 5th time, I pull up & motion you forgot his collar. Unfortunately I won't be bringing my pet back, it was highly over priced for the quality of service received. Best of luck with your endeavor. read more

Let me start by saying this is the first time I felt the need to write a negative review for a Grooming business. They need to start allowing negative star reviews. My Lucky's groomer has sadly moved out of state so we finally decided it was time for us to find a new one and get him groomed. As I was driving this place of business looked OK. When I called, the owner seemed very loving and was very welcoming.as I was telling her my situation and what services I wanted, she stated that if he was matted, she would have to charge more because it would take her extra time to be gentle etc.. I totally understood and by her saying that, I felt like I was making a great choice. This owner really sold me on how wonderful she would take care of my Lucky.. I felt very satisfied and made a appointment and gave all my info. Ok so about 2 hours later owner calls me asking if I was the one that just dropped off my dog, she sounded very panicky. I said no I'm the one that talk to you forever and made an appointment for lucky... She said oh you're right OK and try to take explain herself which she had no need to.I told her don't worry about it I will see her the next day. The day of my appointment she calls me an hour before my time and says she had an opening for me to get there as soon as possible I said great I will try my best but if not I'll be there at my time. 10 minutes before my time as I'm driving Down the street, she calls and says I just need to make sure that you're not late! I said of course not I still have 10 minutes. I'm now parking as I hang up. As I'm getting lucky off the car, I see her waiting at the door my husband and I barely get through the door and she starts saying how she can NOT do my dogs haircut! It was so rude and I said why? She says he's matted! Which my husband brushes his hair daily because our Lucky has coarse curly hair when it's grown out. That's why we simply wanted a puppy cut short shaved all over. And the owner knew that from our conversation on the phone prior. I then told the owner, that's it? a I CANT!?! she went on and on and I had to stop her from jabbering because I knew At that moment, that's all she was good at talking!! I never felt so disrespected and unwanted from a groomer ever!! I was so upset that I wasted my time and gas to get to a groomer that was Lazy and Rude!! As I was driving off putting lucky in the car I glance up and I see her on the phone with her schedule in her hand! That tells me she never had any intentions on grooming my dog whatsoever because she went on to the next so fast!! Please think twice before wasting your time taking your dog to this place of business! I wish I read some of these reviews before I decided to give this groomer a chance... Been taking my 14yr old shih tzu to Pas n styles for several months the owner oralia is very patient with my fur baby since he's a senior and has anxiety she takes her time with him after she's done with him she let's him roam around and not lock him up in a cage I don't mind paying extra for the extra time she's dealing with him. Sad to say her grooming business looks like it's closed I would love to know if she moved to another location. Hope everything is well with oralia. read more

One thing I have to say is the owner Oralia is the best!! If you are looking for a great groomer with knowledge, patient and trust this is the place to come. She loves to give her clients some knowledge of what to do with your fur baby. She is great!!! I have taken my lil guy to PetSmart, Petco and Fernando's Furry Friends, they are horrible. The groomer/owner went above and beyond the call of duty with my 10 year old bitchy Corgi Queenie. Queenie was a mess when I dropped her off. Too much time in the ocean, rolling in sand and messy poops. Oh and she nips if you touch her butt or back legs. I dropped her off and the groomer told me she would call me when she was done in about 2 hours. After 4 hours I started to worry Queenie had taken the groomer hostage, so I went to see what was up. The groomer had taken such care and so much time with my dog I barely recognized her when I got there. She finished up by filing Queenie's nails which required patience and finally a muzzle. The price was so reasonable. The care and love of dogs (even an ornery one) was exceptional. I will be back! read more

Sweet, sweet owner. She knows what she's doing, friendly and informative. We usually groom my dog at home, outside, and she's perfectly fine - no whining. We also air dry her coat. My dog was recently infested with fleas (flea season!) And I wanted to take her to a groomers for a flea bath. It would be her first time. I waited there to see how she would do. My dog HATED it. She barked and whined. Didn't like the tub, didn't like the blow dryer. Which was unfortunate because I loved this place and was fond of the owner. When she got home, she would try to nip me in certain places, so I had to retrain her a little. I don't think I can put her in an environment like this unless she's flea-infested again. read more

I would like to give 5 stars but I think they're overpriced. I just moved here from Long Beach, CA. I was used to paying about $50 to have my golden retriever groomed. Today I took her to Paws n Style. They did a fantastic job. She's so soft now and smells so good! They charged extra for grinding her nails and for trimming around her back end. These things were included in the past, but maybe in this area fees are different? But if you're looking for a local groomer, they did a great job. It ended up to be $86 (with a meager tip included was $96). Yikes! Is that the going rate for the Ventura/Oxnard area? If so, then I would give 5 stars! P.S. This was originally written in April. I called around 4pm and the owner said she was finishing up 2 dogs and had time to take mine in. What: she groomed our 2 chihuahua sized dogs, bathed them, and grinded their nails for a total of $96. I just came back from taking my pup Dolce from Paws-N-Style and I can't even begin to describe the amazing experience! Oralia the owner is a sweetheart and really takes the time with each dog ensuring they are well taken care of and feel comfortable. I took him in at 9:30am and he was ready by 10:30am and can I say he looked just beautiful! I have tried a variety of different groomers in the area including Pet Co. when he has been in need of a quick trim and bath up until this point I had never seen my pup so happy. She has a medical background with animals and knows what she is talking about. Okay let me start by saying I loved the way she cut my dog. The last time I took him to her facility it wasn't sanitary or clean. I know it's a groomer but it was just unkept and overwhelming. I let my dog stay because my husband had taken him there twice but I had never actually been inside there until August 25th. I picked my dog up after being groomed he didn't smell clean and he kept scratching. I was thinking wow he doesn't really smell clean. I saw him scratching but I just thought his skin must be dry. I later found out that my dog had fleas that he got from this place. Don't take your dogs to this place because they won't get a real bath and they will come home with fleas. This is a disgrace and she should be ashamed of herself for putting people's animals at risk like this. I am so angry at the owner for being so negligent! read more

Oralia was able to take them in and I have to say I am VERY pleased with the attention, customer service and care my dogs received. The lady that did my puppies hair was very informative, I called asked her if she had time to do my puppies hair. since it was my puppies first cut she took me step by step of what was gonna happen. I dropped her off went to the gym and came back about 2 hours later she took it slow to introduce my puppy to being groomed. I really hate to give a business a bad review, but I am so upset about the service I received recently from this groomer. I brought my morkie in for a haircut and I told the woman to take his hair pretty short but to leave a bit of length because I don't like his hair really short. When I picked him up he was completely shaved, uneven, and had irritated patched of skin all over his body. It looked to me like the groomer may have cut an area too short on accident and decided to just shave him all over. Either way, it was not what I asked for! My poor dog has red cuts and rashes all over him, he looks ridiculous, and it was extremely overpriced. I will definitely not be returning to this groomer! read more

Love this groomer! Oralia is very sweet and aims to please. I am VERY pickey about how my dog is groomed. I dropped her off at 4, picked her up at 6. She was not put in a cage when she was finished, she was roaming free while another pooch very similar was being groomed. I wasn't going to update my review to let you all know about my most recent visit, because i dont like to bash a business. But after reading a heartbreaking article earlier about someone losing their pet (totally unrelated) i felt like i should be honest and mention my last visit. As my previous post stated, i have been over charged twice now for services i did not ask for. They were "upgrades" that for some reason were just done. Having been through that twice, when it happened the last time i got very upset and demanded the upgraded fees back, which the owner of this salon did without an issue. and i made it clear that i do not want anymore upgraded services on any future visits. However, being a pet parent, complaining obviously worried me because i knew at some point i would take my little pom back into this salon and feared any repercussions on her due to my complaints.... unfortunately i feel like that's what happened on her most recent visit, about a week ago. Now let me add, my dog is my life! So if she had any type of rash, cut or burn in an area as noticeable as her tummy (where there isnt and never has been any hair) i would certainly notice it! When i picked up my dog from her hair appointment i noticed a very large what looks to be razor burn on her poor little tummy, when i brought this to the owners attention she proceeded to lecture me on how it happened because my dogs hair had matting, and it can keep moisture trapped, blah blah, that doesn't explain how she has a razor burn on her tummy? assuming the owner wouldn't confess to accidentally nipping her, and not wanting any problems i paid for the services and left. Id also like to add that its been about a week now since i took my pup here, and she has had a cough (assuming kennel cough) since we brought her home, she did not have this before. I know this is common and could come from anywhere, but its an odd coincidence... i will never return, i should have followed my instincts after complaining about being over charged and just gone elsewhere. were now on the hunt for a new groomer, only the best for my baby! and for us, this salon just isn't it. read more

This place doesn't have it together at all. The owner who seems to really care about pets doesn't seem to have any business savvy at all. We brought our pups here and she said it would take about two hours to finish. Needless to say, four hours later we went to pick them up and they still weren't finished yet. The original quote for a small dog was $40 which includes nail clipping. Needless to say, the Yorkies that both under 5 lbs aren't considered small to her so we got charged an extra $10 for each...after the fact. No nail clipping( I assume they forget since the store was set to close in 20 min). DONT BRING YOUR PET HERE! read more

I take my two dogs to this groomer. I like that their efficient with their services. They complete the works on my small dogs and it comes out to $52 per dog. Every time I get my dogs back, they are very well groomed and their nails are trimmed or ground down. I like coming here because the woman that runs the show is always so kind. I feel that she truly loves animals, which is important in a groomer for me. I would recommend you take your dog to them. read more

First time at this place since a well known place I usually take my Chihuahua could not give me an appointment for 4 days. The service is excellent and my Chihuahua was ready in one hour (bath flea treatment etc.) Oralia the owner I believe was working alone at the time and she was looking to hire help for those of you animal lovers that may be interested.. The price I charged was $26.00 and that would have cost me about $35.00 at the other place. She did an excellent job on the dog. I am now a new customer, from now on. read more

Horrible experience with this business...My dog was in pain and traumatized. By the time I got home after picking him up he was squinting his eye and by evening it was swollen shut. I called the owner who said it may be a hair that flew in his eye. He suffered all night and was in a lot of pain so I had to take him to the vet in the morning. After stain test was done the Vet confirmed that something WAS splashed in his eye. Antibiotics and eye drops were given. In the meantime I called the owner twice and left her messages. She never returned my calls. I walked in her business with the Vet bill and she became very defensive and refused to reimburses me. She wouldn't even refund the grooming charge. She denied any wrong doing and said my dog was just fine when he left. Unbelievable. I have never heard of any business owner who doesn't take responsibility for their actions. I've since spoken to many people regarding this issue and many others have had the exact same experience with her. My friend who referred me to her will no longer take her dogs there and is appalled. I have never ever experienced such disregard and negligence by a business owner. read more

I took my dog Daisy after being treated badly at one the locally large groomers here in town. I have to say my dog is a lil busy and hyper for a being a small shitzu, but she was so Patient and good with our puppy. She took her time and Daisy came back the most cutest puppy I have ever seen. My experience with this business was extremely disappointing and very painful for my dog. A week ago, after spending four hours at the grooming place, my dog came back with both eyes shut. The owner convinced us that it might be a hair, so she rinsed his eyes. Unfortunately, his condition got worse the next day. He was in lot of pain, bumping into everything around him. Even after the vet performed the stain test and was able to tell us that my dog's condition was caused by something splashed into his eyes (soap or shampoo), the owner still was reluctant to admit. So here we are, a week later with the round of antibiotics completed, antibiotic ointment that still has to be administered, our short vacation cancelled, and the owner still claimed on Saturday that it might be caused by a flying hair. Partial reimbursement we received can not compensate for this horrible experience.q read more

I have been taking Jered to Oralia for his grooming for years now. He always looks great when he is done and he is never stressed - she just has that touch. I love the Paws-n-Style site - it is set up with play yards for the pets rather than cages and it always looks clean and well cared for. It is also in a great location to spend a few hours having lunch and a stroll along the canal while waiting for your pet, which is really good for me since I travel up from Thousand Oaks to have my dogs groomed here.
