Nereyda was very sweet from the jump, it was our first time here and very apprehensive because we had a previous groomer for almost 8 years. Our maltiPoo puppy had only been groomed, a handful of times previously and was shaved completely down to the tail which really upset us at our previous groomers, we had not wanted the ears or the face or tail to be shaved back then so we made it very known at Happy Hound that we still wanted some type of fluff around the tail and face-- even though he is matted and was extra chaotic bc he hates his face touched and had not been groomed in months. She made sure to keep that promise and I am so very happy!! He still has his tail fluff and some on his face! (Previous groomers had him shaved down to a chihuahua/ rat tail) Both dogs look great and I definitely am so glad that we made a change and decided to come here. We will continue to come more frequently that way our maltipoo gets a little bit more shape going and we are excited to see how that looks. Honestly, very good in communication and the fact that she tried to keep her promise and made sure she did meant a lot !! This recent visit I experienced disrespect from one groomer named Debbie who made disrespectful, in- appropriate comments about me when she thought I had left. F U DEBBIE for making fun of my voice and talking shit behind my back and then mocking my voice to your coworkers. You have no balls to say that to my face and obviously seem like a grumpy employee who is the face of Happy Hound when you should be cheerful and happy greeting ALL clients with respect. Whose fault is that for being so grumpy? Leave your problems at home if you cannot be happy working where you are. You clearly do not value a loyal customer to Happy Hound. Why would you talk this way about clients??? From now on I will specifically ask to have my doggies booked when Debbie is NOT working. Happy Hound does an excellent job of taking good care of my dogs - and most importantly, they are ready after about 2 hours so it cuts down time on their anxiety. They have their teeth brushed, a bath, hair cut, nail grind, and more. Other than a weird first time when an employee called me up to confirm I paid after I left with my doggies (I had to send them a text of my receipt showing I paid), all my interactions have been pleasant. Our dog was booked in for a simple bath and brush and they took the liberty WITHOUT CONSULTING US of shaving her beautiful coat down to the skin!!!! As groomers they should know that you NEVER SHAVE A HUSKY for risk of sunburn and heatstroke. We went there for the first time this past Monday. Jaison did a fantastic job on Charlie. Our Labradoodle came out looking so sharp and happy. Haircut was perfect and his face looked adorable. If this was the first time, I can't wait to see how the next visit will be! Jaison truly knows what he is doing. It certainly put a smile on my face when I saw Charlie. The service, care, professionalism, genuine care, and attention that Jason and the staff gave me and my two Chi-Poms was a great experience. I'm so grateful that my client's wife referred me to Happy Hound! I told them due to unexpected circumstances that I need to find a foster home for pups. Jason immediately gave me contacts to reach out to which was awesome and posted photos and flyers to social media and letting his walk-in customers know about needing to find a home for Charlie and Piper. If I could give negative stars I would I took my dog to get the "full service bath" she's not the easiest when it comes to cutting her nails or brushing her teeth but she will let you do it. I decided to bring her here due to the good yelp review and a friend recommended it to me. When my boyfriend picked her up everything was fine they said she was so well behaved and that she would win the cutest dog award if they had one. Later that day at around 5 my boyfriend was petting her and he realized her eye was blood shot red. She hadn't been outside and no trama had been done to her she was in his sight the whole time after they grooming appointment Nothing was wrong with her before we dropped her off. Where to start? BEWARE if you have a senior dog. Or any dog with any health issue. Or any dog. I was absolutely astonished by the aggression and unprofessionalism of this business who only care for money and not customer service and are not dog people at all. When I booked, they were warm and nice. I spent several minutes explaining one of my dogs is very senior and listed his health issues and she reassured me that they can take care of him and that I should book an appointment for the afternoon when it will be calmer and more quiet for him. I explained how I get very anxious leaving him anywhere but alas she sounded convincing. Naturally, I felt better. Few days later I called to cancel my younger dogs appointment as he had been attacked by another dog and their response was just "ok". Very cold. This may sound petty, but for a business that cares for dogs you'd think a small "oh no" or "is he okay" would come to mind. I thought I'm maybe reading too much in to this but didn't appreciate their lack of a reaction. Anyhow, I took my senior dog in and upon arrival we had the *coldest*, most unenthusiastic "welcome". The owner stood in the back, barely batted an eyelid and the lady who "greeted" us just gave this attitude of "I don't want to talk just give me your dog". I proceeded to list my dogs issues *again* and she was just like yeah yeah yeah we got it. I did not feel reassured and my dog was shaking so much. My gut was saying no, don't leave him and I wish I listened to it. I can't put my finger on it but I just did not feel good in there. I then get a phone call about an hour later, which gave me the fright of my life. The lady said "umm hello" then paused for what felt like an eternity and I thought the worst had happened. Then she says "you have to come get your dog, we got halfway through and can't finish him, he keeps falling" - he keeps falling?! I asked "are you stabilizing him?!". I told them over and over his back legs are weaker due to his arthritis and they just kept repeating "he keeps falling come get him" even though I was asking questions she couldn't give me a straight answer. I asked to speak to the owner. The owner comes on and starts "you're dog is SUPER OLD" "he has this issue he has that issue" - as if this is news to me!! As if I didn't explain anything to them! She just went on at me and I asked her to stop disrespecting my dog and being so rude and to not touch him anymore and I'm on my way. I said my dog and myself have never had such poor treatment and I'll take him back to his usual spot. She said "GOOD LUCK finding someone who will take him". How cruel?? I got there and another lady I didn't see earlier came at me and started being extremely rude. I said I wanted my dog and to get out of there. My poor sweet dog was shaking like I've never seen before. No lie. I said I'll be taking him back to his usual spot to be properly cleaned up and she says "well why didn't you go there in the first place" I said because I wanted to find somewhere closer after moving recently. Not that it's their business. The owner came out. Would barely talk to me and just stood there letting this other lady be insanely rude to me. They said "we don't usually talk older dogs you shouldn't have brought him here". SO WHY DID YOU BOOK HIM AFTER EVERYTHING I EXPLAINED?! And he is visibly and clearly old so they had every chance to reject him when we arrived as well! They started listing his health issues his teeth this his this that as if I'm not aware. NOT that it's any of their business but I rescued him as an older dog with these health issues and between myself and his vet we are doing our best to care for him, costing me thousands. But I don't care. He deserves respect and a good life. This experience still makes me cry thinking about it. I said I will not pay for services not performed on my dog. The owner (still not looking at me) said just charge her for the bath and the other one was yelling at me saying I have to pay the full amount then after some back and forth said a bath costs $50 (?!?!). I asked the owner (who STILL wouldn't look at me) how much and she said $35. I still don't believe it but whatever I wanted to get out and shouldn't have paid for such an experience but alas my dog needed to get home and back to safety. The other lady screamed "STEALER, YOU'RE STEALING FROM A BUSINESS" as I exited. I had no more energy in me to turn and respond. Not to be dramatic but I had tears in my eyes and hands shaking. If you love your dog, please think twice about this place. I called his usual groomers and, no questions asked, they got him an appointment. He's been going there a couple years and each time they embrace him and cuddle him like a baby and calm him down. They take their time with him and he's always happy when I pick him up.
