Our Randy Marsh is so tired and happy after hanging out at Barkley Manor. (A tired labby is a GOOD labby!) He has been going to daycare and boarding at Barkley since we adopted him at 5 months. We all LOVE this wonderful place. When he comes in the staff greets him with "hi Randy" I can tell they really love him. Boarding: He always goes to Barkley for boarding. Once when we had just landed in Minneapolis for a 9 day vacation, he had a little emergency during boarding. Kim called immediately and said do not come home, we will take good care of him and had already taken him to our vet. We completely trust her and he was just fine. Our vet also called and said he was in wonderful hands. I would recommend Barkley Manor to anyone who wants their dog to have a great time with lovely people. read more

They have done a wonderful job with my girl who is nervous and reactive (according to a trainer we saw). They are patient and kind with her. They are more attentive to all the dogs than a previous doggy daycare we frequented. They also seem better-trained in dog behavior and correcting potentially problematic dog behaviors. I also love that it's not corporate. We will continue to go as long as they'll have us : ) read more

We're in the process of moving so we took our three girls in for an evaluation. Our youngest and oldest dogs are used to daycare, but our cattle dog mix gets separation anxiety so we don't take her as often. But she did amazing! The staff called us a few hours after we dropped them off to give us an update on each of our dogs (who they knew by name and when they described how they were doing, it was clear they knew each of our doggos). We picked the dogs up about 5 hours ago and they are still pooped which is an amazing sign! We'll be taking our girls here often as we finish the moving logistics, and I'm so grateful to Barkly Manor for being such an amazing place for our dogs to spend the day. read more

We LOVE Barkly Manor!! I am an overprotective Dog-Mom to our 3 pups. We don't have human children & these dogs ARE our kiddos. If you don't understand that.... well then you are missing out on puppy kisses and unconditional love. ANYway.... I'm super picky about where our pups stay when we are out of town. For years I used a dog boarding company associated with our Vet Hospital but they shut down the boarding facility a couple of years ago, so when it was time for the humans to take a little trip I started asking our dog-loving friends for suggestions & one suggested Barkly. Long-story short, we had a visit & left the kids for just 2 nights. They were having so much fun when we picked them up that they seemed a little bummed to get in the car. After more, and longer stays, we realized that what we thought was an OK stay at the Vet's old place must not have been all that grand, because they LOVE Barkly & are happy to say, "See Ya!" when we leave them & are only mildly happy to be picked up. We are SO happy knowing that they're safe, well cared for AND are having a great good time too!! Also, they do NOT smell when they come home, which anyone who knows dog boarding knows that means that kennels/runs/etc are cleaned properly and often. We LOVE YOU Barkly! We've boarded our dogs at Barkly Manor a few times with no issues, but this last time was a little disturbing. I went in to pick my dogs up about 20 minutes ago and when I entered all staff were in the back with the dogs. I pressed the button to let them know I was there, but could hear a female staff member yelling obscenities and asking things like, "what the hell is wrong with you", and plenty of other harsh statements and questions. We even heard what I feel like was a definite smack and whimpering following the woman's rant. She was speaking in such a mean tone towards what I'm assuming were the dogs. I was about to walk into the back of the kennel to make sure everything was okay, when the front desk staff came out. My 7 year old daughter was with me and was very disturbed by what happened. She can attest that she heard a woman cussing, using a very mean tone, a smack-like should and whimpering. She was horrified when we got back into the car and she even said we shouldn't bring our dogs back there ever again because she's worried about the safety of the dogs. I didn't have my phone on me at the time, and really regret not having the ability to record the entire situation. I will be contacting ownership and reporting the incident elsewhere. To be clear, my dogs seem just fine and I didn't actually see anything because it happened in the back of the facility - but I will not bring them back after hearing such horrific behavior from the female staff member in the back. I wish I had a visual on her, so I could directly report her behavior. read more

My energetic husky mix absolutely loves this place. They are wonderful dog loving folks that provide excellent doggie day care! I need a place that will help socialize and exercise my pup and this place gets the job done. We love this place! We adopted our pup Magic, unexpectedly just before Thanksgiving and needed to board him. They were gracious and made the process easy to get him a spot. We loved how great it was that we quickly had him there for doggy daycare. They send fun pics and videos every time he's there and he is always having a ball. Prices are on par and the staff are always friendly. Grateful he is exhausted every time! read more

Always like the service. Very accommodating and dog loves it there. However, it would be nice if the front desk staff wore a mask as they have signs on the door and in the place requiring all people to wear masks. In the time of COVID uncertainty, would be nice to see that they actually care about their customers. Dropped my little guy off for some social time while I was at work. The staff was extremely nice and very helpful! Usually the first time I drop him off, my pup gets a little separation anxiety, so they allowed me to walk him to the back door and as soon as he saw all the other dogs, he was fine. I really appreciated their kindness and care! I also love that they open so early! I was able to get our jog in, drop him off and go get ready for work with time to spare! I would definitely recommend this place to any dog owner looking for a safe and healthy place to watch your four-legged child! Can't wait until they open on weekends too!! read more

Love this place! I have been meaning to write a review on them for literally a couple of years now. I took my previous dog to Barkly Manor and they were awesome with him. He was diagnosed with cancer and started to slowly decline, but the staff at Barkly still wanted to help take care of him. If I had to go out of town, they let him play while keeping a close eye on any breaks he needed. When he passed away, the staff at Barkly were heartbroken with me. Now, I take my puppy to Barkly Manor and he LOVES it. The staff knows every dog who comes in the door & is happy to individualize care for them. They offer to go above and beyond by taking care of any special requests (such as feeding out of Kongs) and have even offered to stay late if you are stuck in traffic. I highly recommend the staff at Barkly Manor and their great care. Plus, they now have a sweet rewards program! read more

Yes five month later I write review because I emailed multiple times asking for clarification about what happened, including in October when this occurred and no one ever responded, so yes now I am leaving a review. I asked what happened and all your staff could say was that they took down a Great Dane nothing else, not what happened before, nothing. Not even video evidence of what happened, my dog was hit and left with an open wound in his eye when he went there, I brought that to your staffs attention, did that dog get kicked out? Surely not right? As for the invoices, you system was down numerous time and each time it was, your staff would "open an invoice" because you couldn't charge the card I file or run the card, it is not my fault these added up. Maybe have a working system? You also were not staffed multiple times your staff would apologize on almost every account for taking to long to bring dogs or coming to get dogs in the morning because you lacked staff. Multiple time this was said. And for the behavior, your staff said that one dog was "humpy" and went to time out but NEVER did they actively bring complaints to me, no calls no feedback after pick up, nothing. I have a video you all sent of your employee telling another dog to "get him" and having and watching the other dog jump on mine. So is it really my dogs or were you not watching and are missing things? No one seems to be able to explain what lead up to any of the so called "behavior" you are now mentioning especially since apparently this has gone on before. So please if you're going to try and say it was my dogs feel free to send me the proof. And I will remove the review. read more

Yet another review I forgot to write! I dropped my puppy off here for a few hours so I could do some sightseeing on my last cross country trip. The employees were really friendly and gave me a full report of about her stay. I think she was there for like 4 hours and 45 minutes but they only charged me for 4 hours, which I thought was really nice. This place is really close to the Denver Museum of Nature and Science so it was very easy to drop her off. They had a small area to pull in so you don't have to worry about street parking. read more

The people who work here really care about animals, and about your pet! We have taken our dog there numerous times, and they have taken great care of her. She always leaves there happy, and more than a little tired! Barkly lets you bring your dog there for the 1st time at no charge, and they are happy to walk you through their facilities. I dropped my dog off here for 5 days while my house was on the market. He would jump out of the car and go running in wagging his tail! He's a lazy 5 yr old English Mastiff weighing 200 lbs so for him that's really excited :) They were super friendly and I was able to drop him off anytime between 7am-7pm, any day and didn't have to call or anything so it was extremely convenient. Also, I thought I would need the 10 day package and only needed 5 days so they refunded my money without a problem. Thank you Barkly Manor, Carl will miss you guys!! read more

I have been bringing my pup, Fiona, to Barkly Manor for the past three years. Prior to that, and shortly after I adopted her from Denver Dumb Friend's League, she was "expelled" from another doggie day care because she was able to jump the four foot wall between the big dogs and small dogs. I tried others but was not happy with the fact they had costly full and half day price tags and learned that Fiona spent half the time in a crate. At Barkly Manor Fiona is always welcome and well watched...the dogs are all together and I think it's somewhat raucous based on the barks...but Fiona is happy to be there and be with her friends and caretakers. I love that they have an hourly rate so I can leave her for just a couple of hours if I have an appointment. The owners and staff are wonderful. I am so glad that Barkly Manor is in my neighborhood! read more

Agreed the place does occasionally smell, but "H-E-double hockey stick," it's a kennel, there are a brunch of dogs running around having a blast! I've been taking my beagle, Dexter there for years and have never had a bad experience. He has a ball and comes home tired as a dog! The staff is great, if you have any special needs, they deliver! The same people have been working there for years, Shawn, Moe, etc, they care about your dog. If you want a corp kennel that smells like daisies and you never see the same staff person twice, hit Pet Smart, etc. But if you want a place that cares about your dog, Barkly Manor is the ticket! read more

I agree with the Ann L. The first thing you smell is over powering air freshener and I found out why as I entered the dog area, the smell of urine was out of control! I brought my 14 week old puppy to the free puppy socialization hour on Saturday and needless to say I was NOT IMPRESSED AT ALL!!!!! The staff was very friendly, but then when we (there were only 4 of us) went back to 'play' the smell was the first thing to hit you. Additionally, the employee said well if your dog barks when it plays you can't go outside, we've been getting complaints. Really??? then why would you offer outside playing if you can't even go outside because of the neighbors. The last straw was when this same employee brought out his 4 year old rottweiler to 'play' with the other puppies!!! She is 4, not 6 weeks to a year like they state on their website!!! Let me preface, my pup's older brother is a rottie and they get along fabulously! However, this Rottie pinned my pup to the ground and wouldn't let her up and when called off, she just went back and did it again. She totally disrupted the puppies playing with each other and I ended up taking my pup and going home. Additionally, the employee let out 2 other dogs that looked to be boarded there who were also older than a year old. Again, the age difference disrupts the puppies and anyone who has been around dogs knows this and this is NOT what should have been done! I brought my PUPPY there to play with PUPPIES not with 4 year old dogs. AVOID AVOID AVOID this place!!!! read more

I brought my dog here for the last 10 years. I just moved out of Denver to Virginia, and so sad to not have this place anymore. They are always very friendly and caring towards the dogs. My dog is very sensitive and picky about where she stays and will refuse to be left somewhere she doesn't want to. She would actually get excited to come here and I could tell she would miss it if when we went too long without bringing here. So sad to have to find a new place now. read more

Our 7 month old very playful mutt (seemingly a Belgian Malenois mix) absolutely loves coming here. She goes four days a week while I work my 10 hour shifts. She is very high energy and does well in the no-mandatory nap setting. The staff at Barkly Manor is small, and consistent, and they knew her name within a few times of her ever going there. She always runs straight to them and cuddles up to them for pets and attention and then happily wags her tail to run back to play with all of her buddies. The staff knows all of her four of five best friends names and can even tell me how they play with each other. We do take our pup to other locations at times because I work at other hospital locations that make me unable to go to this location every day, and honestly she gets the most excited when we pull up here. She just returned after her spay surgery that was quite an ordeal for her to recover from and they paid extra attention to making sure she wasn't licking her incision and wasn't playing belly up so as not to get it infected, which unfortunately went overlooked at another company's location and caused her to get an infection (from which she recovered before I brought her over to Barkly Manor). In a nutshell, this is a no frills location, but the staff really cares about the pups and I have seen dozens of very happy dogs coming and going from the premises! This place is a really great dog daycare! It use to be happy tails(hated it), but now it's got new owners and they are really nice and actually seem to know what they are talking about! I've got a very active 18 month old Lab named Hambone. I have taken him to other places like canine fitness and even Happy Tails and he does great in daycare. He's very socialized and loves the dog park. However he still has bounds of energy after daycare - what am I paying for - my dog to nap all day! But that changed with Barkly Manor. My wonderful, happy, and very exuberant Hambone came home and went to bed! This place is really great and does what they are actually paid to do - play with your dog. read more

Have bought our dogs here since it opened in 2009 but something is going quite wrong with this facility. The owners, Shawn and Kim, are lovely people and I have no doubt they love dogs. Recent incidents: 1) attempted to drop off dog for a few hours of play, no one was on the premises despite that there were many barking dogs inside. There was no response to pounding on the door, ringing the buzzer repeatedly, calling twice and leaving a message, and going to the back and shouting. No one ever responded, Calls were not returned, had to change the day's plans since we could not leave him at Barkly Manor 2) horrible smells inside, unclean, dirty windows, broken vertical blinds, employees appear unkempt 3) Our 8 pound dog was brought out to us in the arms of an employee and promptly dropped onto the ground from a 6 foot height, not injured thankfully, but a very frightening moment from an employee who was very sorry but also seemed dazed and inattentive 4) worst of all...our little dog was attacked by another dog while at Barkly Manor on 4/6/17; his ear was torn and bruised, he had puncture wounds on his scalp and beside his eye. There was apparently a lot of blood. At pickup, no one mentioned a thing about the attack or injuries. They had cleaned him up enough that it wasn't obvious until closer look later. Our vet shaved his scalp and found other puncture wounds. Shawn, the owner, was apparently present during the attack and did the clean up but either ignored or concealed the truth. When told about the injuries he said he was sorry to hear that and hoped our dog would be OK when he himself was present and hid the truth from us. We'll never go back. Please don't discount our feedback here - something is going very wrong at that facility and it seems the owners don't care. read more

Every Friday we drop our two dogs off at Barkly for a crazy play day. The dogs love it. They come home tired, happy, and covered in slobber. I recommend Barkly to anyone who has dogs with energy to burn. read more
