We took our long haired wiener dog in for a haircut and thought all went well until the next day. As we pet him he would holler in pain . We suspected razor burn at first and there was some scabbing in his front arm pit but his pain was in his back leg. Vet said he had a pulled ligament! I called the owner and she said nothing unusual happened and he was a good boy but they were obviously too rough with him and we will never go back. read more

Such a disaster!!! Her employee is a joke. I contacted Stacey personally about this situation and she informed me that she had video in the front and back of her shop saying i was the perpetrator. When I asked to have copy she ghosted me. Presumably because her employee was at fail. I was just an irritated client that had been inconvenienced. The last contact I had from her was saying her cloud camera was being discontinued. How convenient! My mother was in the hospital and her dog was in extremely poor shape. I brought her in and even though she stunk to high heaven Stacy scooped her up in her arms with no hesitation. We took our dog in for grooming. Right after we brought him home he kept biting in his back side. I called and left a message at the business. I got a callback and was offered to bring my dog in for essential oil's and a cone. (We do not reside here so not an option) I then heard a lot of talk about how good the businesses is and their treatment of animals. Bottom line is my dog hurt and I called to just give feedback. I ended up on day three giving some aspirin and my dog was finally able to sleep. He kept licking and biting his backside day and night. When I tried to give an update I was sent a video tape of us from the lobby (little did we know we were being taped) and she sent a copy of our "liability release." Preferred appreciation of the feedback not a defense like we were Suing her?!?! read more

Took my dog in for a nail trim. I was treated so rude because I said to her "I see you have a pit" that's as far as she let me talk. She grabbed my little dog and walked away. The worst part was I could see her and she never spoke to my dog to comfort her in a new place. I could see my dog was scared. When she came back I tried to tell her I meant no offence. She just went off on me about having the big dog was fine. Had she gave me a chance I was trying to tell her my little dogs best play mate was a big dog. We just relocated to the area and I took my 2 year old English Bulldog in for grooming today. The ladies where super nice and my dog just walked right off with them no hesitation on her part at all. I've always heard good things about this place and wanted to give it a try so I walked in to make appointment. When I saw the lady she asked me how I wanted my dog groomed, I starting telling her in the nicest way possible that I didn't want my dogs tail to be cut or even touched I also told her that I wanted her to have a small trim on her coat. She was very short and kinda rude but I thought she may have been busy. When I came back to pick her up she did opposite of what I said, she shaved her and half of her tail, I was really nice about it and let it slide. I gave her a second chance and brought one of my other dogs. When I came to pick her up, she informed me that she cut her nails way past the muscle and made her bleed... while i was waiting for her to finished up with another dog, I noticed how she was treating the other dog by being very rough, like if she didn't have the patience for Overall I personally don't see how people really like this place, I gave her two changes yet she still messed up.. making my dog bleed is something that still pisses me off to this day. I hate writing this review and that is why it has taken me a few weeks to do so. I was referred to Barky Dogz by a friend of the owners and I wish I had not taken my dog to this place for her grooming needs. Having an older dog and with some issues with her hips I informed the groomer who was on staff. I believe she was the owner. I explained my concerns and explained as well that my dog was deaf. I left the shop feeling okay and was told that I would be called when she was done. I live in Eureka and so it was a drive to take my sweet girl to this groomer. After about 3 1/2 hrs I called to see how things were going. I was told that she would be done by the time I had driven back into town. I was also told that she had a couple of nicks from her grooming. This concerned me as I have not had this happen to her by any other groomer in her 14 years she has been in my life. When I arrived to pick her up she was antsy to get out of there. I was told that the cost for her grooming would be $90.00. WOW !! I have never had paid this amount for a professional grooming service in a retail setting before. Shocked at the price was to say the least. I paid as I was in that situation where the service was done and it was too late to say anything I felt. I paid the price and as I was heading out the door I was told that " Oh by the way she may need to go to potty". What, a place that doesn't let the dogs go out for a break I was thinking. By this time I was upset with not only the price but the service my girl received. I took my girl around to the back of the shop area, all awhile she was panting, and sure enough she had to pee. Boy did she have to pee also. After doing her business I took her back to the car and gave her some water to drink in her portable bowl I carry with me. She drank a whole bottle of Arrowhead water from her bowl. Yes she was dehydrated ! I drove off so upset not only at Barky Dogz but at myself for not saying something then. After we got home I took a better look at my girl and found that her bottom paws had not been fully groomed. One paw still had the same length of hair on it and another was not finished completely. I found that indeed she had been nicked in 2 spots from her grooming and had bleed. Her cut was a basic shave down so it was not a difficult cut by far. You would think that one who is a so called professional groomer would have no problem with this type of cut let alone be able to complete a job. My advise to anyone considering this groomer, take a second look at others in the area or even in the Eureka area for someone who will truly take care of your loved pet and do a job that does not cost you an arm and a leg as well as do harm or neglect to the basic needs of a pet while in their care. Was at the coast for a week and brought our 4 legged family member. Had stayed in a cottage that allowed pets but our 4 legged family member picked up a case of fleas. I have been taking my dog to barky baths dog house since it opened and I have been pleased. I love the fact that I can get an appointment on the weekend whereas the other local dog groomers are closed on the weekends.
