One thing stands out the most about this place is the portion size of the food, it is humongous! You will definitely have leftover to bring home for another meal. Everything tastes absolutely delicious. It is very satisfying to dine here. I highly recommend the Grilled Salmon Filet (8oz salmon and the creamy caper sauce it comes with is heavenly) , Danish Baby Back Ribs (comes with lots and lots of fries). The restaurant is always busy, a little loud and service is kinda slow, even on a Sunday night. They can accommodate for big groups, family and kids friendly. They have high chairs, crayons and drawing paper, kids cups for the little ones. If you are not in a big rush and are in need of a big plate of yummy food, this is your place. I got the Cappuccino and the French Toast with a side of Eggs- all were delicious without being overly sweet. I enjoy having a sweet breakfast but don't love extra sugary or syrupy foods and drinks, so these were perfect. The cappuccino and biscuits had a small bit of a nutmeg or allspice flavor that was really nice with the espresso flavor, and the drink came out at a perfect temperature to immediately start sipping. The french toast came with berries, butter, and syrup on the side. I didn't use the syrup so I can't speak for it, but the berries were fresh and tasted great with the eggy french toast. I forgot to snap a picture of it, but it's a good sized serving with 6 halves of toast! The side of scrambled eggs was huge-definitely more than one egg which was surprising for only $3. With some pepper added they were perfect! My partner got the Green Eggs with Apple Chicken Sausage and potatoes and she was enamored with it, haha. It was a huge serving, definitely would've been able to take some home and have another meal if we weren't staying at a hotel down here. She said the eggs had a perfect consistency and every bite she took was amazing. She also loved the slices of kiwi and orange and that it came with ketchup! The food came out quickly and warm but not too hot to eat. Our server was great and so friendly! He made us feel comfortable and safe and I appreciated him recommending the french toast to me, he was so right about it being delicious! Good brunch! My fiancee and I came here to eat around 11 and we got seating outside. I think dogs are allowed on the porch but we hadn't brought ours that day. I got the greg eggs and sausage--eggs cooked with fresh spinach and cheese with a serving of roasted potatoes and toast. Huge portion for the price and very filling. The eggs were soft and tender. There are many things that can make a place stand out, the food, the decor, the experience. For my visit at Barnaby's, it was the server that made the difference. When I was struggling with the menu, he mentioned that there's a QR code at the bottom right of the menu that linked to their site which had photos of each of these dishes. Granted some of the photos were a bit different from the ones actually posted by people on Yelp, but it definitely gave me a visual understanding of what to expect. When I was ordering, he actively asked if I wanted to substitute any of the sides, and listed out a variety of substitutions that I could do. While I understand substitutions are pretty standard, it was still nice to have it offered. When the food came, he first asked if I wanted any condiments to go with it and when I declined, gave me the different condiments that were offered along with what may be good with the food, and I chose the bbq sauce eventually. Finally, the refilling of my iced tea was very proactive, and the icing on the cake was when he offered me to have the iced tea to-go, which I'll say is the first time I've ever had any restaurant offer that. His service and demeanor definitely made this place, which was pretty decent decor and food wise, up a notch and definitely made me look forward to visiting it the next time I'm in the area! read more

We went here by accident since the one next door closed on Labor Day. They're very busy. We waited for about 10 mins. Not too bad. This restaurant is kid and dog friendly. We ordered Asian wings, meatloaf, ribs and carrot cake. Generally, food was good. The Asian wings were flavorful and spicy. I loved the homemade pickles coming with it. However, wings were too salty for my liking. My husband liked his ribs with sweet potato fries. My toddler loved it as well. Meatloaf was a bit sweet. Asparagus came with it was yummy. What I love about Morgan Beavers is that there is definitely something for everyone to eat. They have such a wide array of a menu, if you are with picky eaters this is definitely the place to land. some thing else to admire about Barnaby's is that the staff and the customer base is so eclectic. You can tell it is filled with free spirits. As you can see by the mascot this is definitely a place you can bring your dog. All nine locations are dog, friendly, and offer treats. You can also bring your cat if they're down for a public environment. This last time in particular I went, the staff was over and beyond. I cannot stress how grateful I am for how kind they were to me and my family. They make the experience so nice. You definitely want to go back just to interact with them and I've had a variety of food from here and everything I eat is definitely solid. Some thing that is nice to note is that all the servings are massive, so if you are not a big eater, consider sharing some thing with someone. Being that Barnaby's Cafe is dog friendly, my husband, our little girl dog and I came here last Saturday night, around 7:20 pm for dinner. We got a table outside and let the hostess inside know that we were sitting outside. After looking over the menus, we ended ordering: Hawaiian Pork Chops, $16.75 prior to tax- This entree comes with fries but my husband substituted it for broccoli at no additional charge. I didn't have any of my husband's food but he thought the pork chops were good but a little dry. The portion size is definitely plenty for one person. The dish is also served with an apple compote, which kind of tasted like apple sauce, which was a nice complement to the pork chops. Lebanese Chicken Fattoush Salad, $14.95 prior to tax- According to our server, with all the salads, it will be the same type of chicken served (so for this salad, the chicken is not seasoned according to the name. Only the salad itself has olives, feta cheese, etc. All the salads are served with either a fried or grilled chicken. But you can also request for the chicken to be shredded if you prefer). Anyways, for $2 less you can order a small size. This salad is pretty massive and is perfect for at least 2 people. I liked the salad and thought the romaine lettuce was fresh and crisp. I had requested my dressing on the side, which is a good thing since I didn't really like it. I was able to get another different dressing on the side, which I had preferred (garlic ranch aioli). The chicken was tender and perfectly seasoned. --------------------------- (Total= $34.53 after tax, prior to tip) Overall, we had a good meal. Our server came back to check up on us 2 times but did not offer to refill our water glasses during those times. He did try really hard to upsell us to try to get appetizers as soon as we sat down. He was really pushing the sticky spicy chicken wontons, but I am glad we didn't end up getting them since my salad was a lot. There are numerous of choices of entrees to choose from on the menu here. Location wise, this was a convenient stop and within walking distance of entertainment district walking. While my friend was mildly concerned about dog hair, the interior was entirely clean and bright. We were immediately greeted, warmly, I may add, which was very nice, despite the place bustling and having a lot of activity. Our server, Aiden, did a great job. We ordered the spicy asian chicken wings as a starter, the baby back ribs, and carrot cake for dessert and were not disappointed. The wings were surprisingly crispy and flavorful! I usually do not find wings that achieve that level of crispiness on the outside. I also enjoyed the spicy cucumber they placed on top of it. Besides being refreshing, it stayed true to asian flavor palettes. The baby back ribs was truly a sizeable portion, but just a little dry. They do give you the option of waffle fries, steak fries, chips, or mashed potatos, which I found to be very accommodating and thoughtful. Aiden was kind enough to engage in friendly banter and conversation, refilling our waters whenever he saw they were running low. The only thing I may note about service was that we had asked for knives to cut our food and towels for our hands, and the towels arrived ten-fifteen minutes later (which is expected), but the knives arrived after that, with prompt. As someone who serves as well, it may just be noted that knives are needed to eat, so they should come out first. Because of that, we couldn't really eat for a long while. We came in for lunch on Memorial Day after visiting an excellent exhibit at the Houston Museum of Natural Science (Ramses). This is my first visit to this location, and I am glad to know about it because of proximity to several of the Houston museums. We ordered a Cobb Salad and a Bacon+Blue burger. The portions are so large that one should expect to eat half and take home half for later. We enjoyed our dishes again in the evening. Between these two entrees we had a LOT of tasty blue cheese. I read the reviews before dining and I thought I was prepared, but I was wrong. When they say the portions are big, they forgot to say "as big as your face" big! My Cobb salad was delicious and it was more like 3 salads put together. The bacon was exceptional, the tomatoes were ripe and juicy, the chicken was spot on... it was all so good, but I couldn't finish it. Sad face. I would have taken it to go, but we were headed to a concert immediately after dinner, so I didn't have a way to keep it cool. The atmosphere is nice with regular table seating, 1/2 booth 1/2 chair seating, outdoor pup friendly patio seating and bar seating. Alice took great care of us and offered suggestions. The restrooms were clean and the walls were loaded with black and white puppy photos. Who doesn't love puppies?! I did t have my pup with me, but I know she would have enjoyed it. Okay we just gambled on this place that popped up being neither of us had been to Houston and were so hungry on our road-trip. It wasn't far from graffiti park so that was what we saw and why we headed their way. It was on the way to I-10 which is where we were headed to. We were trekking to Florida! We found patio seats quickly (they are seat yourself). The wait staff was not very in tune to your needs so things took quite a bit of time to happen from the get go. The bathrooms were both clean and that was nice being we had been on the road for 6+ hours already! I ordered the grilled chicken sandwich and it comes on their bread and with a honey mustard and normal fixings (lettuce, tomato, onion and pickles). The sandwich was so big! And the amount of fries they give you is insane. My husband ordered the Turkey Club. It comes with the fixings and a cranberry mayo. He was nervous to try the mayo haha! It is served with their homemade chips. His sandwich was for sure too much for him or I to eat alone but he accepted the challenge since we didn't have a way to save it. Poor guy. What we liked was the quality of food to price. It isn't super expensive for good food and that's sometimes hard to find. My sandwich was delish and the fries were a nice fresh touch. Both meals we could have just picked one and shared and i wish the waiter would have let us know that. He knew we had never stopped in and didn't have really any direction for us or any faves to recommend. Strange to me. My husband was not a fan of the overload of turkey on his. On a slew of high marks we came in for late breakfast, and alas, we were too late, missed breakfast. Drats. We stayed anyway. Our waitress, Chinda was very pleasant. Meatloaf: Gigantic portion. Like share with someone or two big. Also big, the stalk of broccoli on the plate. Pros, the loaf itself and the sauce over it was delicious. A nice scoop of mashed potatoes. Cons, huge uncut, cool, broccoli to wrestle with that created a puddle of broccoli water on the plate. That scoop of potatoes was also room temperature. My husband actually likes tepid food, but I am a hot food gal so this was a bummer. The kids corndogs were a hit. The kids grilled cheese was cute, but alas didn't impress. The thick cheese in the middle hadn't melted, and I have no idea if that's why she didn't eat it, but I saw that and thought, meh. The guac burger was an 8/10 according to my husband. I have eaten at many of the Barnabys in town, and this is the closest to me. Their food is amazingly consistent across locations so you are really coming here for the atmosphere. During the weekend for either lunch or dinner, forget it. Due to its proximity to the zoo and museums, you will have to wait and there are so many children running around making the dining experience loud and obnoxious. Every other day and time, this place mainly serves the Texas Medical Center people so you can have a nice quiet meal. I also like that you can get breakfast during the weekend pretty easily compared to the Baby Barnabys. Their vegetarian burgers, salads, and lasagna has always been great and I always order the lemonade, where they give you a small jug of refill. Since this is the closest Barnaby's, I have gotten food delivered frequently from here. Always packaged immaculately. read more

Since I moved to Texas, I've been looking for a really great hamburger and this is it. Too bad it's so far from Galveston! I've heard a lot about Barnaby's and its multiple locations growing up in Houston. My friend A. and I were looking for a good brunch place to catch up at near the Medical Center, and decided on Barnaby's after much deliberation. Walking into the restaurant, I was amazed by the many dog murals and canine decorations. It's a very pretty venue both inside and outside on the patio, and has an overall great ambience (usually the hallmark of a pricy restaurant). However, I was pleasantly surprised by the portion sizes and prices here. We arrived a little too late for their breakfast menu (which ends at 11 on weekends; they start serving lunch at 11:30) Neither A. nor I was particularly hungry, so we decided on a starter for each of us and split an order of salsa and chips. I went with the Asian Spicy Wings, while A. ordered the Garlic Hummus & Pita Chips. Given the prices and their label as "starters," the food we received was substantial. I ended up taking half of my wings and the salsa and chips to go, and A. packed up the majority of her hummus and chips. However, even with large portion sizes Barnaby's really delivered on quality too. The wings were crunchy and warm, and the spicy sauce flavoring was delicious. I tried a bit of A.'s hummus, which was similarly tasty, though a little bland. The salsa also had a unique taste, rather tomato-heavy which I really enjoyed. Our servers were pretty accommodating, and the food was great and well-priced. If it's a nice day outside (which it was for us, fortunately) the patio is quite nice and dog-friendly! Parking may be an issue (from what I've heard, only the first floor of the garage is free and parking on the streets nearby is iffy), but the experience is well worth it. They are seasoned to perfection with a slight hint of spice. Now for the burger...Excellent! The best I've ever had in a long time, and so are the Sweet Potato fries.
