Piggy's Kitchen Bar is one of those lowkey brunch spots you almost don't want to tell people about. The setup is easy. Order up front, grab a number, sit wherever, and they bring your food. Only thing is they're walking around trying to find your table, so your food is just out and about uncovered. Not a dealbreaker, but noticeable. I had the mimosa carafe, which was good. Got the chicken and waffles with eggs. The eggs needed a little seasoning, and the waffle was kind of bland. The butter didn't melt, so yeah... that part wasn't it. Wings though? Really good. Crispy and full of flavor. Service-wise, I wasn't a fan of my table being used as a tray stand while I was still eating. At one point a busing tray was set on my table while I was mid-meal, and that just didn't sit right with me. But listen... the DJ carried this whole place. Music was on point. Old school vibes all the way through. That's what made me sit back and still enjoy being there. read more

The service was really disappointing. My breakfast came out cold, my friend's steak was overcooked, and another friend didn't get her food until we were all done (though she said the chicken and waffles were good). They apparently forgot her order. They also brought a waffle instead of a pancake when that was the only thing one friend ordered. I wouldn't recommend the steak and eggs or the CROISSAMMICH. Chill, laid back neighborhood brunch spot. There's plenty of outdoor seating and the restaurant is dog friendly as well. I went on a Sunday afternoon and they had a dj playing old school 70s/80s funk, soul music which was fun. Large TVs outside too, so there were plenty football fans out as well so it's a good venue for large parties. We ordered our food at the bar, grabbed a number and sat down at a table outside and the staff delivered our items shortly after. It probably only took about 15 minutes to come out so not bad. We ordered a mimosa carafe and other brunch items like steak and eggs + chicken and waffles. The food was pretty good and large portions too. This place had a very cute, cozy and home like atmosphere which I loved! I believe I may have ordered the wrong thing as I was not crazy about the bacon in the croissamich. It was a bit undercooked to my liking, and was not crispy which was what I was hoping for. However, I had a bite of the chicken biscuit from my friend and it was so delicious! Normally, when I attend this restaurant, I get the chicken and waffles which are pretty good but today I wanted to try a more traditional breakfast so I got pancakes eggs and bacon and I also wanted to try their crawfish so I got a pound of that as well. These were very tasty with a side of cheese and mustard. I forgot to take a pic of them. My Harrissa chicken salad was delicious. My husband ordered a burger medium rare and it was overcooked. He said it had good flavor but was too dry. Their frozen drink machine was broke so I opted for water instead and my husband had a gin and tonic. First time going here and while the gorgeous weather helped, everything else was unfortunately pretty mid The wait was about 40 minutes between ordering and food (my party was only 2 people, for the record) and I got the crispy chicken sandwich which allegedly comes with coleslaw and pickles, but mine was just chicken and bun..?? Chicken was pretty good, but it was bland without any toppings or sauce. I also got a side salad with balsamic that kinda just tasted like the old McDonald's side salads (but the balsamic dressing was worse). I think a big part of the issue is the "order at the counter and take a number" system. You don't know what ticket or wait times are, no seating sections means no one is accountable for floating around checking on you or your food, and if there's an issue you have to walk back to the counter amidst all the others waiting to order. You also aren't guaranteed seating, either. Patio was fine, it was a nice day, and it was busy. Maybe it was an off day that we ended up going on. Overall: meh read more

Love this place! Great place to do brunch. There's usually music on the patio and fans to keep it cool. You order at the counter, so it makes it good for groups that want to spilt checks. The line gets long quickly though, so if you're a drinker order a carafe or two drinks! If you don't take my advice, the line does typically move pretty quickly. Everything is made fresh so there may be a slight wait to get your food. My meal! So I usually get the brisket migas, but today I decided to order something else. Probably wouldn't get it again though. I got the Benedict. They use a biscuit instead of an English muffin. The biscuit was good, but I now know I don't like it on my Benedict. Piggy's was a great new place to try for brunch this morning! Their brunch goes on till 3 pm so it was nice to be able to walk in at 1, have plenty of seating options, and not be rushed. They are known for lively brunch on the patio with a DJ but also had indoor seating. And thank goodness, because my allergies were on one! The food was pretty good! I don't normally like fresh blueberries but there's were awesome. I had the blueberry waffle with some really good pork sausage patties. My partner had the cinnamon roll and loved it. I had a cucumber basil drink that sort of tasted like straight up pickle. Not mad about it though! My partner got a mimosa carafe that was only $20 and included an entire bottle of champagne! I've tried their Paloma's, tequila sunrise, mimosas & mojitos and they are all truly so yum. The staff here are super laid back, and they always have a good attitude. We came here on New Year's Day because it was the only good-looking spot open that we fancied, and we were impressed by the quality of the food we received. I must say we were going to order fries... until we saw a waiter serving the crispiest, most perfect-looking onion rings I've ever seen. We were not let down. These were the best onion rings I've had in a long time. Seasoned, crispy, light batter and perfectly cooked onions inside. Heaven. My salad was delicious, with a skewer of marinated and grilled harissa chicken that was cooked perfectly. We walked here, so I'm unsure about the parking situation - but the seating is expansive, especially the outside area. My girlfriends and I met for brunch at Piggy's awhile back. I've heard great things about this place so I was really looking forward to trying it. Parking can be a little tricky. I found street parking a block away. They do have valet as well, but I don't like using the valet unless it's the only option. Piggy's is counter service just like all of the other Creek Bars. The staff is nice and service is fast. They did a good job of keeping the line moving. I didn't have to wait too long when I arrived, but around 1 pm, the line was out the door. I ordered the smoked salmon. It was cut thick and tasted overly fishy so I couldn't eat it all. I did like the Everything bagel and cream cheese with the veggies. The capers weren't as salty, but they did have a sour vinegar taste. I squeezed lemon juice on my salad which added some nice acidity. They have a small indoor area with a few tables and a large patio with a good amount of tables. They have a lot of trees which is nice for the shade, but leaves kept falling on our food which was annoying. We actually switched tables so we wouldn't have to keep picking leaves off our plates. Unfortunately, the table we relocated to had some ants crawling on it so it created a different problem. Eventually we ended up inside which was better. They had a good playlist, but the music was loud. At times, it was hard to have a conversation. A DJ started spinning some good tunes, but it was still loud. Once we moved inside, we could actually hear each other. I like a good Sunday Funday, but I also like to be able to converse without having to yell. Despite that, we had a nice time! read more

Piggy's is an underrated brunch spot in Houston! I personally haven't heard about it until I did some digging in Google for a brunch spot with some friends. We came on a sunny weekend, and there was no wait! We sat outdoors in the spacious patio, and this was the perfect start to our weekend. Not to mention the food... everything was stellar. I'm also pretty particular about brunch spots too. Our favorite was the chicken & biscuits. The gray was perfectly seasoned, and the perfect complement atop of the soft, pillowy biscuits. The chicken was also juicy and the runny yolk made it even more creamy. My mouth is watering right now just thinking about it again. Regarding the food, you order at the kiosk and retrieve it yourself once the buzzer sounds. I honestly like this service since there isn't a server constantly coming over and interrupting conversations with guests. This is all self-help and self-paced.
