Just okay. I was really expecting this place to be more than it was based on the reviews and reputation. The waitress was nice, but there was nothing special about the food. Appreciated the multi-grain bun with my burger, but it was sopping wet with grease so kind of defeated the purpose. My girlfriends and I meet here at least twice a month for lunch. There's never much of a wait, even on Friday when it is very busy, and the food almost always comes out quickly and deliciously. Rarely have we ever had to send anything back and their fries are little sticks of delicious. Even my burger connoisseur boyfriend likes their mushroom-swiss burger, especially the tasty buns. The portions are HUGE, by the way, so be ready to take home leftovers. read more

Stopped here, for the first time, on my last trip to Houston. The food was excellent. Everything was fresh and the portions were huge. I had the Pesto Chicken Salad with Artichokes and it was delicious. I highly recommend eating here if you are ever in the Houston area. I will definitely return next time I'm in Houston. read more

We ate here on a Friday night fairly early before we headed to watch the Aeros. We found a seat right away as the place wasn't super busy around 5:00 pm. The waitress (Kristi) was very good, yet definitely not born south of the mason dixon line. We tried the lasagna, the (blue cheese) burger and chicken (La Jolla). The burger comes medium, so you'll need inform the waitress if you want it cooked medium well. If you want it well done, you should probably just order chicken. Loved the flavor of the burger and the lasagna was swimming in fresh tomatoes. The chicken dish was good as well. Portions were large so expect to take home some leftovers. Especially when you start out with the blue cheese fondue waffle fries like we did. (definitely ignoring the caloric intake this evening). Sometimes I think the reaction Barnaby's is going for is "this is so good.... AND THERE IS SO MUCH OF IT." I typically order the meat loaf or lasagna and make 3 or four meals out of it (supplemented with salad, because vegetables). I've also tried a variety of burgers, salads and appetizers - all great, especially the queso and the blue cheese fries. Most of the time, I order to go to satisfy a Sunday night comfort food and HBO craving, but when I've dined in, service has always been very attentive and very friendly. I couldn't ask for a better neighborhood cafe. The occasional toga-clad table is just icing on the (gargantuan slice of) cake. read more

Terrible service. We waited for a table for 20 minutes in the heat. I watched them sit a party of 1 at a 4 top booth who arrived after we did. We were a party of 3. Then they proceeded to call multiple parties who arrived after we did. I also saw more than one party larger than ours leave the restaurant We were told the tables weren't big enough for more than 2. This place is hands down one of my ultimate favorites in Houston. I dig the one on West Gray--HUGE GINORMOUS salads that would feed 3, yummy juicy burgers, and awesome chicken salad sandwich. Also if you are really hungry try the pork chop---Pretty much everything I have ever eaten here has been awesome and I have been able to take home leftovers. Great prices, and a nice relaxing place to sit outside have a glass of wine or iced tea and watch the yuppies roll in.... Love it! read more

I ordered a bacon cheeseburger medium well. The burger was DRY. The fries were good. I would not return or recommend this place.

On a recommendation, I stopped by for lunch and was thoroughly satisfied. I had the Blue Cheese burger and fries with a side of chips and salsa. The salsa was tasty, but not over the top. The burger was excellent. The patty was well seasoned, and the blend of flavors spot on. Portion size is good. Some may need a to go box. The service was well above average. The waitstaff was friendly and courteous. When in the area, I will return. read more

Ok does it get much better than this? The first place that comes to mind when I want to meet family or show friends a good spot, BARNABY'S! This place has every type of food you could want and being a big burger guy, they are to die for! Awesome people run this location and are always extremely helpful. Cory has been tasked with taking care of my family of 8 the last probably 80 times we have met here and is on his game each and every time. Not the greatest service at this location but the staff is really nice and super friendly they just sometimes are slow and orders come out wrong. The bleu cheese fondue fries are phenomenal. I don't even like bleu cheese and these things are superb. They also have incredibly perfect sweet potato fries. Once again, something I don't like but love to eat here. The carrot cake/cupcakes are so delicious and never dry. I always go with the grilled chicken caesar salad which is always delicious. The marinade for the chicken is delicious and the chicken is never dry and always flavorful. read more

Each Barnaby's is basically equally good. The only one I haven't tried is the Woodway location. While it's certainly a chain at this point, it appears to be carefully controlled and you can only find it within good locations inside the loop. This is not a watered down suburban chain - thank god. This is one of the best places in Houston, and frankly one of the best places I've been to anywhere. I never know what is about you oh fare Barnaby, but whenever I am at a loss for a place to eat you will invariably traverse my mind and into my taste buds. This place is perfect. Mushroom Swiss goes hard (in the paint, like Carmello). If you happen across it, try to sit outside and enjoy your menu with some iced tea. read more

*QR Code on the menu* presents you with a more descriptive version of each item, which came in handy after our neighbors exhausted the server through each of the 10+ generically named salads.. Self-seating is a bit precarious, but our server was excellent the entire time. Didn't catch his name, but he had full sleeves and a Cadillac logo on his hand. Super nice guy.. Didn't hover, but didn't disappear. That's spot-on for cafe service. Started with the *White Queso* and chips.. wasn't gooey-hot so we asked them to nuke it. No biggie. The serving was MASSIVE. I pity the fool who attempts to finish that bowl on their own. The beau and I decided on the *Petaluma Salad* with Carnitas added. Neither of us usually eat pork, but our server suggested this over the chicken. Best salad I've had in a long time. It's much like a Southwest-style with guac and the works. Our server DID warn us that the smaller size may be ideal, but we were stubborn and found ourselves taking home a 4-lb box of leftover salad. (Fourth meal, yessss) We split this, as well as the *Chipotle Black Bean Burger* with sweet potato fries. The burger was supposedly one of the more "legit" items to try on the menu, but we ended up neglecting the tough patty and destroyed our salad instead. The beverages are not from a fountain, so if you normally slam 6 glasses of Dr. Pepper, you may want to tone it down. Lemonade was pretty good, would be better with Jameson ;) read more

My first visit here. Had the free range buffalo burger which was pretty good (i like it rare). What really stood out though were their sweet potato fries (best ever) and the brownie with ice cream. Finally found a brownie which didn't have a ton of cream on top. The downside though was the tables being very small and often it was a struggle to fit all the plates. read more
