Friendly place, great food, below average prices and good looking owner. Treated on occasion with a train rumbling by.

Maddie took our orders and then took the time to repeat our orders back to make sure there were no errors. There were a couple so this step saved so much time for all of us. The food came out at the same time which is a miracle in itself! She is a gem! And kudos to the kitchen for making sure all meals were ready to be served at the same time. It was a beautiful sunny day and she made the dining experience flawless!

Man this is incredibly disappointing! I just had my first dinner of the season at Schooner's. I was…read moreso excited to see a shrimp burger on the menu! That's where it ends. My shrimp burger was a very bland patty of squished up shrimp with tons of filler that tasted like raw dough. My bun fell apart into multiple pieces and the whole thing tasted like a bland pile of mush. The tartar sauce didn't even have a good flavor. I also paid the up charge for fries of 4$ and got a tiny little paper tray of them which were cold. Also my friends nachos came out so cold his fake cheese had a thick skin on it and was inedible. The cauliflower bites for apps were 80 percent breading and maybe 20 percent cauliflower if that much! My other friends burger was thin and cooked till it was almost black and charred. The beer was good, but if I want beer on the water I have plenty of other options and so do you! Step it up Schooners. I am a longtime customer and so sad to see this happening! Service was great!

The draft selection is nothing to write home about, unless you're writing home to say, "Hey, ma, they have the usual draft selections that I've seen at every bar and nothing local." Yuengling. Shock top. Sam Adams. Pay by credit card and you'll get an "oh!", as if the plastic goodies-creators were just invented. (You won't learn until later about their $10 minimum). Then some regulars will come in and start arguing about whether we actually declared war in Afghanistan, when the country exactly will go down the tubes (or whether it already has), why no president has cared about the Korean "war," or the fact that this country needs to "stop letting in so many Spanish [sic]." The Afghanistan/declared war argument will devolve into angry yelling. You sit quietly and keep to yourself the fact that the last time the United States declared war was in 1942, against the government of Romania. Quick, finish the beer and get out of here! But it takes like 10 minutes for the server to figure out how to run/close out your credit card. You say, "Just charge me the $10, please," but to her this apparently means give you cash out of the register? Run away!
