My favorite place to search for books. Barnes and noble has a huge collection segregated into different segments. They have all the new releases and most popular books in the front. They have a stationary section for gifts and other items specific to some characters like wicked, Macbeth, peanuts etc. They also sell records and sometimes on discounted prices. People are very nice and knowledgeable. They ll help you with anything if you get lost while searching for something specific. They have a reading space and a cafe inside for people who want to spend sometime enjoying their reading. They also have a section for games, puzzles, board games etc. Overall, a really nice place to check out if you are into books/music/games read more

I'm a book nerd. Reading books are a natural part of life for me. I tried electric readers and ummm NOPE! Being in Portland I have become a fan of the largest independent book stores here. When I walked into Barnes & Noble, I felt like I was cheating on my store. I"m glad to see that books stores are making a comeback, but this one didn't have the cozy feeling I'm accustomed to downtown. read more

Don't judge a bookstore by its strip mall. I think this is the most welcoming and relaxing B&N I've ever been to. I would never have gone to this non descript strip mall except that we needed to charge an electric car. They had a very interesting selection on their featured books wall. I love bookstores as much as I love books and its that warm fuzzy feeling you get when you browse through aisles and aisles that I chase . This Barnes and Nobles feels slightly less inviting owing to the floor plan being more open and the aisles being very far apart but its just my personal preference. Quite a good collection of books and magazines as well as toys and puzzles for kids. I still feel its limited in terms of genres and more focused on just the popular ones. They had a lot of variety for planners , gifts and other Knick-knacks . There is also a coffee shop inside for patrons . read more

As someone who grew up going to the old Tanasbourne B&N, I was sad to see the old one torn down. It had a warmer and cozier vibe, almost like entering a living room. I loved that it had an actual Starbucks attached to the bookstore. The new Barnes and Noble, though it is spacious and organized well, has a darker and colder feel. It doesn't have the same inviting quality that would make you want to spend hours browsing books. I do like that there's plenty of seating sprinkled throughout the store. There's a cafe located inside the bookstore that isn't a Starbucks, though it does serve Starbucks coffee. You can't use your Starbucks card here unfortunately. Having said all that I'll continue to support B&N because I still enjoy coming in and browsing physical copies of books. The remodel is still very nice and modern. It'll just take me awhile to get used to this new revamped Barnes and Noble. read more

I have been here a few times with my toddler now for browsing around and mostly for their Wednesday story times. The space is open and well organized to help you find what you need. I also really love the train table and the kids area where the story time is - such a cozy space with lots of childhood wonders! There is a table for coloring or reading, lots of soft stuffies, and a wooden train book display that kiddos can sit and pretend to drive. They also do a really great job with seasonal and holiday themes, lots of great selections! Special shout out to Tara for leading fun and engaging story times for the littles. She really makes the effort to learn everyone's names and make us feel so welcome and introduce us to some amazing books every time! Thank you! read more

I'm so excited to have Barnes & Noble open again in this area. Even though I mostly purchase books online, it's so nice to have a local place to go in person and be able to browse through a huge selection featuring many genres. Being able to touch the books and flip through the pages, especially with cookbooks, is a major advantage before deciding to buy. The space is expansive, exactly what you expect from this brand and the aisles are designed with plenty of space in between so it doesn't feel claustrophobic or cluttered. The shelves were fully stocked and I love how they integrate non-book items into the book displays. This location is definitely modern and vibrant. read more

It's great to have Barnes & Noble open in Tanasbourne again! Ever since it had to close its prior location across the street there has been a void in this area. Sadly it's prior location was torn down to make way for a business deal that fell thru so the torn down remnants of that building still sit there in shambles. B & N is a wonderful place to buy books and so much more. They carry magazines, journals, toys, DVDs, collectibles and more. If they don't have what you're looking for in stock, they are happy to order it for you if it's available. The store is neat, clean and well stocked. Employees are friendly and helpful. There is a Cafe with plenty of seating. The only thing I wasn't thrilled with is the lighting. The lights hang from a dark ceiling and when I first walked inside, it felt like I was entering a cave. But I got used to it after a while and enjoyed browsing all the great merchandise. Welcome back Barnes & Noble! read more

Felt very unwelcomed here and will not be coming back. I am a mom of two children that love books just as much as I do. They were incredibly excited to be around so many books and your toy section. My husband was with them as I looked for a certain B&N exclusive that I wanted to buy. A worker passed by me and said under her breath that people shouldn't bring their children here. WHY WOULD YOU HAVE A HUGE CHILDREN SECTION IF YOU DIDN'T WANT CHILDREN THERE?!?! I immediately grabbed my children and left without my book. It is bad enough that your books are the most expensive in the area but that my children can't enjoy be children inside a children section made me very upset. read more

Gorgeous. Open lines of sight and does an excellent job of presenting the non-book merchandise that Barnes & Noble sells these days alongside their cafe and book categories. If I could infuse the company with cash to remodel many of their late 1990s expansions to look like this, I would in a heartbeat. They do broadcast unobtrusive music and noise can carry around a little but overall it feels like a modern library turned book and magazine shop. A few vinyl records are for sale but it's largely catelog titles, not new releases. No CDs or BluRay or DVDs. The cash registers are somewhat combined with the information desk and easy to miss, other than being near the door. read more
