They loved the Mandalorian Lego build!

I first want to commend Emily, who appeared to be in charge of the Lego build on Saturday, May 2nd. My daughter was very well aware of Lego builds and when she heard it was going to be a Stars War theme Lego build, she was the first to call and register....however sadly, she didn't get the person's name who "supposedly registered" her 6 yr and 4 yr old boys. Emily thought on her feet and contacted her manager, Cameron, who indicated that it was "ok" for her to give my two grandsons the Lego build kits. Kudos to both Emily and a smart manager, Cameron. Thank you both! You made the boys VERY happy!

Sitting on a corner of Fashion Island, this bookstore offers several levels and something for all ages. The most obvious is its giant book selection. They even have a few people ready to answer any questions about a potential book you are interested in. They have a giant kids section - this includes, books, games, and toys. I heard several kids telling their parents they didn't want to leave. There is a large magazine section, puzzles, and board games. Come check it out and stay a bit to chill and relax.

I had to kill a few hours today so I came in here and time went by fast. I got an okay tasting Americano from the Cafe, bought a beanie knit kit, pursued the religion, nonfiction, and autobiography sections for something good to buy and read, and used the restroom. Every section of this place was clean and organized so it made it enjoyable to make this pit stop. I'm not sure how much longer these stores will be opened but I'm appreciative for the refuge and goodies I got.

The girl working in her young 20s dark brown hair fair skin with glasses about 5'5 needs proper training . Very rude and entitled. She told me to pick up after myself which I do and said that where the toys are is a fire hazard . They need to change the layout where the toys are then if it's in a fire hazard way. I won't be buying from this location. I was shopping for my 9 month old son and 8 year old daughter

There were so many books here. It's nice to take the kids here to check out and read some physical books. The kids love it here! There's also some Lego too check out

Absolutely love going to Barnes & Noble and just having a coffee and reading a good book or looking for some puzzles for my Nana.

I wore some new shoes which I bought to help with my bum leg\foot, so my limp and gait were more pronounced than usual. As I walk around, this middle age lady comes out the back, greets me and starting talking to the other older woman employee. Before you know, it I start hearing the younger woman suddenly start talking about her uncle who is disabled with a bad leg. She goes on to say that he was in discomfort for a long time, particulary his foot, but that it's all suddenly better now. I thought that was weird but as I kept listening, I noticed that she would say certain buzzwords like "I mean..." and "I don't know..." and "you know..." and "this guy..." Strangely, she said "this guy is so small" a few times while talking about an inventory item. Later she started telling the other woman that she had a near photographic memory. (She asked the woman to quiz her on the price of an item, which she got wrong 2 times and finally guessed correctly on the 3rd try which I thought was funny). Anyway, I soon realized that she is trying to fake synchronicity to lure the customer into making a purchase. Her MO became clear as day. She studies and watches the customers coming in and then begins a conversation with the other employees regarding something she notices (makes a read on) about the customer or perhaps overhears the customers talking about to make the customer think that the "coincidence" is a spiritual sign. The shop is clean and tidy, but it's mostly cheap mass produced art work or knick knacks that is marked up 500%. The older lady is actually very sweet and I get the feeling she just gets taken advantage of by the younger woman. Stay away from this fake Christian place! Even if Jesus came back and walked through the doors, that lady wouldn't recognize him and try to make a sale to him.

Really lovely selection of all sorts of things from scriptures, missionary gifts, artwork, books…read moreand more! The service is unmatched, everyone is so friendly and it is so fun walking around to browse all the materials. Parking is easy as the lot is huge.

The whole time I was at UCI, the UCI Bookstore was just the UCI Bookstore. Apparently in 2013, they…read morerebranded as the Hill and then more recently the Hill has been bought out by Barnes and Nobles. New students may not know the difference if they did not know our former bookstore, but as an Alumni I notice the corporate effects making our once beloved UCI Bookstore less unique and more expensive. I recently came back for a Book Signing for my former Vietnamese Professor for the Vietnamese Stories that is written in Vietnamese and translated into English. It is a great language tool for those who are studying either languages. It has great insight into the Vietnamese culture and traditions, as long as you keep in mind that the origins of these stories were from many eras ago. The Book Signing event was nicely set up and I was able to meet one of their managers who was a fellow Anteater Alumni too. The staff was very sweet and accommodating to the event. Since the staff is still UC students, they are still friendly and sweet -- for the most part. My issue is with the merchandise and pricing. The books here are probably over 25% more expensive than if you were to buy it somewhere else. It is sad that some students who do not have the time or knowledge to buy their books elsewhere will be extorted to buy their books here. Every year the bookstore will buy your books used for dirt cheap and then resell it for barely less than a new book. I am sure things will only get worst now that the bookstore has completely gone corporate on us. Other than buying a few of my respectable Professor's book to support him, I was not too interested to buy anything else. I actually want to buy a few more of these copies for friends and family who want to learn more about Vietnamese culture, but I will probably order it online. Zot Zot!
