From what I read, Barnes & Noble's business began as far back as 1873 by Charles Barnes that started a book business from his home in Wheaton, Illinois. The bookstore opened their first brick & mortar store on Fifth Avenue at 18th Street in New York City which is today the flagship store. Barnes & Noble grew worldwide with its variety of reading material which included general trade books, academic titles, textbooks, and medical books. As the world turns into the digital age, Barnes & Noble began to upgrade their stores with innovation, contemporary aesthetic with books at the center, grew their food and beverage offerings, and comfortable seating for a friendly customer experience. The Palm Beach Gardens location is large, and the staff is friendly and accommodating. The book price values are reasonable, and the other amenities are enjoyable. I am still one of those individuals that love to hold a read a hard cover book. But do not get me wrong, I also read books online.

For reference, here is the position my foot was in... big deal.

Wow, great find! My daughter and I have been exploring record shops all around Palm Beach and…read moreBroward and recently stopped by Rust & Wax. We were impressed! Their selection is great, they have a wide assortment of new vinyl and some great used vinyl as well. I picked up a used live Kansas double LP for $8, a very fair price. I also bought a special 2 LP edition of Nirvana Bleach with a 1990 concert, Operation Ivy - Energy and the Minor Threat LP. All prices were either at market or slightly below. Staff was pleasant and helpful. I also liked that they had a listening station where you could check out used stuff. Overall, a very solid five stars. I would absolutely come back here in the future.

I'm glad to see they moved into a larger location so it's not as crowded as it used to be and there's a much higher selection available. All the records were well organized and the prices seemed in line with what's available online perhaps a bit lower depending on what record you were looking for. They had a clean restroom in the back available to patrons of the store. Also the staff was very friendly and more than willing to help if we couldn't find something and even offered us some free stickers with our purchase! With being one of the only record stores in the area they are doing a great job!

Raptis Rare Books specializes in rare, antique, and first edition books. As a young child, Matt Raptis had a deep love of history which led him into a future career of collecting and selling rare books. In 2016 Matt and Adrienne Raptis moved from Vermont to open their rare book business on Worth Avenue. In 2021 they moved to the gallery space they currently occupy on Worth Avenue next in Via Roma and in 2022, Raptis Rare Books purchased The Harcourt Bindery, the oldest and largest book bindery in the United States. The couple once purchased for $1 a signed first edition of "Catcher in the Rye" near author J.D. Salinger's home which they sold for $80,000. Other rare books that have been in their collection include an original 1859 copy of Charles Darwin "The Origin of Species" and an original printing of "The Cat in the Hat" inscribed by Dr. Seuss. Books in their collection have influenced generations and shaped history and culture. The books here are worth thousands to hundreds of thousands of dollars. In addition to selling individual books the couple will consult with rare book collectors to help them to build their libraries. In an increasingly digital age it is nice to see that books are still valued in our society.
