I love Barnes & Noble for the same reason every bibliophile loves a good bookstore. They keep it clean and somehow they keep that fresh book smell in the air because it hit you as soon as you walk into the door. I went there just to browse with my daughter and see if there was anything that caught my eye, we had a nice time doing that the store was clean, and the staff really were in the zone helping people who actually have questions, but they were always present and always moving about so I did feel that if I needed anything, someone was immediately available for me to ask. This is my go to Barnes & Noble because the newest one Tequesta is kind of far but if you have the opportunity check that one out. The layout is totally different and it's a little bit brighter and the staff is a bit more interactive I think because of the newness. Barnes & Noble always has sales. They had plenty of books that were 30% off and buy one get one. And if you become a member, there's a lot of Parks for that too. I think you get 10 or 20% off every purchase. I get mine from being a teacher. I'm sure they have other discount discounts for people who work in other areas. All in all, I appreciate mainly that when I'm there I can use a Barnes & Noble gift card in the coffee shop as well as to purchase books I included photos of some of my favorites attached to this review. I briefly visited Barnes & Noble to purchase a gift card for my grandson's birthday. There are a ton of gift options near the cash registers so I was able to purchase a couple of impromptu gift items as well. The cashier was very friendly and enrolled me as a member to earn rewards. She was extremely knowledgeable and explained the perks to me. I will definitely return to purchase both books for myself and gifts for others. read more

Barnes & Noble has become a sad shadow of its former self. This B&N in particular is poorly staffed and dirty. Awful Starbucks too, the few black coffees I've purchased are consistently burnt. It's pretty much impossible to find a staff member unless you're checking out, and often times there's long lines you have to wait though because there's one cashier behind the desk. There has been only one time I've seen an employee at the circulation desk. They didn't carry two out of the three books I asked about, and the one she told me was in stock was not on the shelves when I went to look. I approached her again (waiting through another long line of desperate book buyers) asking if she could direct me to the aisle the book I wanted was in, and she told me her system didn't have a book section listed. Can you imagine going to Publix, asking where the cereal is, and the cashier doesn't know? I remember when you shopped here and the employees not only knew where the book you wanted was, they could walk you right to where it was on the shelf and other sections where the author was listed. Also, why are there so many games and toys now? I must've seen five aisles of plastic light up toys and stuffed animals for kids, the cheap stuff you buy for your neighbor's cousin's birthday party. The kid's section was so sad to walk around. Poorly made picture books with AI-slop cartoons. Maybe a small handful of classics like Madeline and Brown Bear, Brown Bear. No chapter books as far as I could see. Instead of brightening our children's minds with imagination and literary challenges, they're dumbing them down with cheap content. I remember spending hours here with my Dad as a kid, paging through books while he sat with a coffee and magazine. I hope, so so much, that it can return to this. read more

Horrible experience. I came into the store to make a purchase and the item I needed was behind the counter. I asked the manager Teresa for help and she was extremely rude. The manager Teresa was loud and obnoxious and began screaming at me in the store in an obvious attempt to try and embarrass me in front of customers and other staff members. She refused to alllw me to to view the items I wanted because she had to ring up other customers and said I may attemp to steal the item, but I was standing at the counter right infront of her. Another employee was extremely nice and acknowledged that the manager Teresa was trying to embarrass me. Even as the other associate assisted me Teresa continued to yell from across the room at me in front of other customers and staff. I come here almost every day to complete my school work. I usually eat something from the cafe or buy something most of the time I come. I had never had an issue here up until today. I was sitting in the cafe doing my work. I had my legs resting on a ledge right near my table. To most people, this doesn't seem like a big deal as I am doing nothing wrong. A loud blue-haired woman who works here walked by me and said rudely and condescendingly while giggling "yeah take your legs down." I wouldn't have an issue if she wasn't so snarky and extremely loud talking most of the time. I am not sure why my legs resting on a side ledge near my table would annoy her so much when the tables are constantly dirty from food that they never clean up. Great store nice people. Have been to a lot of book stores and BN is definitely staying on top of their game, offering more than just books, but still having what you need in stock. Remember if they don't have it in stock, and you are in the store, you can have it shipped to your house for free. BN is competitive on pricing too and maybe that bookseller will show you something you haven't seen before. You won't get that kind of service on line. read more

As one of the stores anchoring Legacy Place, this store is one of the bigger B&N in the area. Big is good, you would be hard pressed not to find the book your are looking for here, in the media you are looking for. The problem with large stores is that it is sometimes tough to staff them so that it is not a problem to find help... enter computer terminals in convienent places of the store. You can search for your selection by name, author, and topic, and when you find it, it will show a map of the store where the item is located. Sign of the times. read more

I use to love this store but the "manager" Randi(f) is a complete and utter unprofessional. I have spent a small fortune at this location but no more. My son was so excited over a year ago when he got a job there and I was so proud of him. Mind you it is over a 30 minute drive for him to get to work. After over a year of being there, my son was offered a job closer to home so he accepted and gave his 2 week notice. My son has called in sick once in the year he's been there, he called in during his notice period and "Randi" accused him of not leaving Barnes and Noble on a good note. Then Randi proceeds to threaten my son by saying she knows the regional manger where his new job is. Out of respect for my sons wishes I didn't hop in my car and go to that store. My son up until today had such a great experience working there. Such a shame. read more

As far as book stores go, it's very good. However, font attempt to return anything unless you're prepared to deal with the rude manager. Customers don't want to hear about the companies inconsistent policy from store to store. Rudely tells me the computer won't take my return but then magically does. Once again, customer service is what adds to Amazon's success. read more

The selection is nice overall and this Barnes & Noble is cleaner than others I've been to. This is one of my favorite late afternoon places to visit after a full meal of lunch from The Great Greek. Today, however, I was a little disappointed with my visit, all caused by the attitude of one particular female employee. The line at this Barnes & Noble does tend to be a little disorganized, and I couldn't tell if the employee was fixing or organizing something while waiting in line. So I just simply asked her, politely, if she was waiting in line, to which she responded in an obviously rude tone, "I'm stacking bookmarks!" She almost certainly thought I was a dimwit. As ignorant and dumbfounded as my question may have sounded, it didn't even compare to the rudeness of this entitled employee. South Florida already has an influx of rude Northeasterners, and the last thing I need is more rudeness coming into what is otherwise a great bookstore. If this problem persists, I'll just have to make my way down to the Wellington Barnes & Noble instead. read more

This Barnes & Noble is pretty decent, very clean, and the staff depends on who you get and how much they know. I usually get the person that doesn't know anything, but that is my luck. I love their puzzle and game section. It has a lot of games that you don't see elsewhere and the puzzles are awesome. The issue is their prices you can go onto amazon and get the same item in 2 days for 20% less or more. Typical a game at BnN is 24.99 and on Amazon it is 18.99. It seems to be that way with most of their books, movies, and other items. The book selection is decent, they have a great kids section, and a lot of interesting topics. They used to have a gay/lesbian fiction section which they took away and I was super sad that they choose to remove it. It makes them look like they are hiding our community. Lastly is the Starbucks inside the bookstore. Normally they're pretty good they don't have everything that Starbucks has because as their employees will tell you they are not Starbucks. I asked if they had pumpkin bread yesterday (4-19) at 2:30pm and they guy was so rude and said "were not Starbucks". Ok then maybe I should leave and go to one where they have manners? Our drinks are decent here about a 6 or 7 out of 10 and they also use the Barnes n Nobels discount card. Try this location out for a decent selection, expect to pay more, and the employees are a mixed bag! read more

Welcome to the Michelle Obama Fan Club Outlet. I saw at least eight (8) different books about Mrs. Obama. And I saw them repeated all over the store. Every cover had her in an exciting pose sans about 50lbs of body fat and silky long black hair. These books were located at kiosks at the end of rows of books ALL over the store. Mixed in were books also worshipping Barack. Well, it's only fair, right? Barnes & Noble is completely useless for someone who is looking for good books and has been for some time. It is a good place to pick up stocking stuffers and burnt lattes. I did see one book with President Trump's face on it and it was a book castigating the president. So, we know where B&N stands and it is clear to anyone that their selection is highly selective politically so they cannot be trusted. Their staff must be tranquilized because they moved like the workers in the movie Metropolis. I came into that store (knowing that is has fallen downhill for some time) looking for an Italian or French Vogue or other publication. B&N was known to have these magazines for sale for years. They had nothing and no one would help me. They merely pointed towards the magazine aisle. The broccoli and cheddar quiche was burnt and dried out. On vacation and having trouble with my Nook which I rarely use so it's like new. It keeps automatically going back to main library while I'm in the middle of reading a book. The other day a nice lady suggested I bring it in so today I did. The employees today were the least helpful and tried to pass me off to someone else and just say it's not doing it now so I can't help you... so completely unhappy with my shopping experience. Let's not forget that when a person actually comes into a retail store they have made an effort to drive, fight traffic, park and for what? Rude customer service. The "MOD" aka manager of the store was extremely rude when I asked about price matching a book from the online price. She snapped that it was corporate and would not give an explanation even as to what corporate point was. Why on earth would I pay $22 for a $16 book from the same retailer online?!?! I wouldn't even have drive to the store and waste my gas to have it delivered. I am extremely disappointed in Barnes and Noble since other retailers such as petsmart and Macy's will price math. Went there after work to study with my girlfriend. We went up to sit in the cafe. The barista yelled at us to put on a mask (this was when masks were mandatory). We went to a table and took off our masks, like everyone else in the cafe. We worked at Chick-fil-A at the time and had water from our shift. The barista then started talking about us to the customer she was helping about how kids are so rude and think they can do whatever they want and bring food and drinks from other stores (we had no food and just water). Then she came over to our table and said she "meant what she said about the masks and if we weren't going to listen we need to leave". I told here that we're sitting at the table and she said it doesn't matter. All the older customers were sitting at a table with no masks on. We just got up and left. While we were leaving she was talking to her manager about us as well. Very poor customer service. I sincerely believe we were discriminated against because of our age. Will never go back. read more

I used to love this place and we would weekly visit and enjoy finding books before covid. Unfortunately everything has changed. The shelves look like a hurricane came through. Its more like an unorganized thrift store. Books are stacked so tight you can't pull them out. Our eyesight isn't great so looking at the random placement of books with a large book jetting out next to a tiny book makes it impossible to even see the smaller books. The health section will raise your blood pressure quickly as it is so not user friendly. It's like you would imagine in a furniture store with random placement of furniture. My husband remarked last time we were in several months ago that they said they were working on the disorder but we see no change. We now prefer the library or a thrift store for the ease of finding and seeing books. I guess they are short staffed or just not an organized group of employees. Hope it will get fixed as this used to be such an enjoyable place to relax and peruse all the books. read more

This is a great bookstore. They have a really nice cafe too that's set kind of higher than the store which makes it pleasant to sit in. There is a little place where kids can play in view of the cafe. And a full kids section that is beautiful. There are tons of awesome books and magazines. And toys as well. What a pleasure to find this well stocked bookstore in scenic Palm Beach Gardens. There is a large section for movies with new shows and all the classics of yesteryear. I generally prefer smaller quiet spaces to study, but this Barnes and Nobles has a Starbucks attached, and although it is located within the larger area of the bookstore it somehow seems separate. Maybe it's the steps leading up, or the small tables... I don't know. I do know that I am perfectly content spreading out my materials and camping out here for a couple hours at a time, and the coffee is a nice bonus! read more

Just had a lousy experience at Barnes & Noble. Was in the music department for 20 minutes looking around for something that I wanted and it was unattended the whole time. Finally I found what I wanted and walked out to check out at the front desk and an employee went oh are you done now? I have had a completely unsatisfactory experience in both placing my orders and then the follow up after not receiving it when promised. I tried to place an order online but the website wouldn't take my coupon number for my member discount. I then called customer support and it took over 45 minutes to place 2 orders for two books with a woman who was almost unable to understand with her thick foreign accent. She literally spelled every word ( x as in X-ray, c as in cat , for example). The order was placed on Monday, March 1st with a promised express delivery of yesterday, March 3rd. One book arrived, the other did not. I called today and the representative wanted, in addition to the order number and name and email, associated with the account and order, the billing address, shipping address with zip codes, and credit card number. I refused to give her the credit card number. She did nothing to help but put me on hold and said I'd have to call back at the end of the day to check again. I explained that the post office had already made their delivery for the day and would not return. She kept repeating the same thing, that she couldn't do anything until later and that I would have to repeat the process. I asked for a supervisor and was put on terminal hold. No one ever picked up and I then hung up. Putting a customer on hold does not hold a customer! Not listening or trying to be helpful but continually wasting my time, will not make me want to do business with your company anymore. This was all for the convenience of B & N and not the customer. I can only compare this to past experiences with Amazon who is professional and courteous and cares about their customers. I will not buy from your company again. I suggest in store purchases or simply use Amazon. They know how to treat a customer. read more

I made a remark that I was surprised that the nook wasn't out of business and she quickly replied "nope Barnes & noble isn't going out of business anytime soon!" In a rude voice and repeated herself. While this B&N is a large location the recent changes have made it hard to find some books that used to be carried in stock. The book section was drastically reduced to one side of the stora to make way for a section of over-priced games. Will still continue to support as it is one of only a few bookstores in the area but is sad to see a book store becoming more toy store than anything. Staff ranges from unhelpful to pleasant. Most recently had a employee tell us she could only spare 5 minutes of time to explain and answer some questions about the Nook when there was no one else in the section waiting for assistance. I could understand if the section was busy or another customer came along but to limit my question time right off the bat when there was no one else to assist was very off putting. (She must have been wanting to get back to the conversation she was having with her coworker badly). To add insult to injury the information she provided was completely wrong. One question asked was if we could get andriod apps on it to which she replied yes...nope..not true unless you make changes that void the warranty. I miss what the store used to be and hope one day it will get back there again. read more
