Wow, great find! My daughter and I have been exploring record shops all around Palm Beach and Broward and recently stopped by Rust & Wax. We were impressed! Their selection is great, they have a wide assortment of new vinyl and some great used vinyl as well. I picked up a used live Kansas double LP for $8, a very fair price. I also bought a special 2 LP edition of Nirvana Bleach with a 1990 concert, Operation Ivy - Energy and the Minor Threat LP. All prices were either at market or slightly below. Staff was pleasant and helpful. I also liked that they had a listening station where you could check out used stuff. Overall, a very solid five stars. I would absolutely come back here in the future. read more

After visiting the coffee shop next door we wandered over to Rust and Wax to see the records and vinyls they currently have in stock. I'm glad to see they moved into a larger location so it's not as crowded as it used to be and there's a much higher selection available. All the records were well organized and the prices seemed in line with what's available online perhaps a bit lower depending on what record you were looking for. They had a clean restroom in the back available to patrons of the store. Also the staff was very friendly and more than willing to help if we couldn't find something and even offered us some free stickers with our purchase! With being one of the only record stores in the area they are doing a great job! read more

What a great hidden gem on WPB. There is so much vinyl it's a bit overwhelming (in the best way). Everything was by category with used and new vinyls. I hadn't visited the new location of Rust & Wax until recently when I had tickets to the Lord Huron new album early listening gathering. The shop is a cool and relaxing spot to sift through vinyl both new and used, talk releases with the staff, maybe glance at a book or two, before leaving with something that struck your eye. For my money, I picked up a vinyl copy of the Cure's 1982 Pornography album, which I didn't have in that format. It was a good price where I didn't mind parting with some dollars to bring home. I enjoyed my experience thoroughly at Rust & Wax and will return to gander and determine other purchases. read more

This is one of the cleanest and most well organized record stores in which I've ever shopped. The staff has always been very helpful and I've been able to have some items ordered in. I've also made purchases through their website for pick up without any issues. Their selection of new vinyl, especially new alternative and indie albums, is always top-notch. Stopped in driving from Miami to Melbourne. A few friends recommended it as a good shop for what I'm after (90s to current punk ie Fat Wreck Chords and Epitaph type stuff). They had a pretty small section but it was excellently stocked and prices were pretty reasonable. Most of what I was looking at seemed to be standard black distro copies, but that was ok with me. One of the best stores in the country! Clean! Organized! Easy to browse! Welcoming! Great service! This shop is very well ran with an amazing ownership and genuine approach to the customer experience which seems to be lost in other shops. An absolutely great experience and I can't wait to return. They are all things a shop should be. The $1 bin yes is beat up but they are a buck. For example a beat up Led Zeppelin for $1 that would easily be $10 any where else. Great little local shop in West Palm. Stopped in as I always have to when passing a record shop. Limited parking lot surprisingly had one spot open for me! Was happy with the selection and organization of the shop. I was pleased to see that the pricing was very reasonable and the new albums on the lower end of the MSRP. I appreciate a clean shop that takes the time to make it easy for someone like me to find stuff in a hurry. Artists names are clearly marked and labeled so I can skip things I'm not looking for as opposed to shops that do not separate out the good from the trash. Will for sure be back. read more

Fantastic spot! Great atmosphere, super clean, welcoming, and tidy. They have a hand sanitizing station at the door, which we were kindly requested to use upon entering. The selection is very well organized and it's easy to flip through the different sections and genres. Also wound up with some fun finds in the dollar bin, which I'm looking forward to sampling in my productions. What I loved most though, is that I had my little girl with me for some quality daddy/daughter crate digging, and even though she was somewhat rambunctious due to her excitement, the couple at the counter were so gracious and friendly, and even gave her a cool sticker, which she promptly and proudly placed on her hand. I really appreciated the hospitality, and this awesome shop is now a must stop for whenever I'm in West Palm! read more

I have found many gems here (Talking Heads, Grateful Dead, The Clash) and look forward to finding many more. You can tell they put time into the quality of the records they sell too. I have never had any issues with scratches or skipping of older records. This is a great place to browse the selection while you're at Elizabeth Ave. It's a smaller selection but there are some really quality records in there and the staff is always very helpful. You will find something you're interested in, and it will be in good condition. I got the James Bond theme songs which is, of course, a classic. read more

My all time favorite record store. I remember discovering them at the Miami flea market and purchasing Pink Floyd's Wish You Were Here from them. From there I ended up purchasing many great first and second pressing records including Led Zeppelin IV, CCR's cosmo factory, Tears For Fears's Songs from the Big Chair, and many more. I always feel super welcomed whenever I pay them a visit at a record fair or at their store; they're very cordial, sincere, and they know their stuff. Their prices are fair and they have a prolific collection ranging from classic rock to disco. No where in south Florida can you find such a good used collection with great conditions, definitely pay this shop a visit I guarantee you'll find something you need and more! read more

Well curated record store, off Dixie, lots of parking, clean and well organized. They have many of the titles you would expect. For me, the mix of new to used was too high - easily 5:1 new vs used. I don't enjoy shopping for new records that I can get online for 20-30% cheaper (My Morning Jacket Live 2015 for $40 - with multiple online options for $30-$33 with free shipping). Also, jazz section was light and 99% new pressings. I want to and do support the independent stores. But maybe I'm old school - record shops should be mostly unique used "finds" - that's the exciting part of bricks and mortar vinyl shopping for me - it's the adventure. Holding a new press of Elvis Costello My Aim is True priced at $25 is not the experience I seek at these places. Finding a first pressing of the same in great condition priced at $12, now that is exciting. Despite my experience here, I do recommend a visit to Rust and Wax - you may have a different take. read more

We are both vinyl lovers and always enjoy a good crate digging and found that here at Rust & Wax. They always have an eclectic mix of music and books to get any music fan excited.
