Because we have been having snowy and rainy weather at this time of the year, I used the Abe feature to ask the bookstore owner to be especially careful wrapping the book, to avoid water damage. He wrote back promptly and said he would. The book arrived with lots of protection against moisture and lots of padding. The latter is important because modern books have very poor bindings generally. During D-Day, the Allies designed a system of rubber skirting to allow Sherman tanks to float and be launched out from the beach. The design had a mixed record with many tanks sinking or floundering. If the owner of Liberty Book Store was alive in 1944 and was asked to use his waterproofing talent on the tanks, more would have come ashore and the Allies would have been in Berlin before the Red Army. The online order invoice showed that the owner would ship via media mail. But the book came much sooner - - almost as fast a Priority Mail shipment! This was a very positive experience and I will contact this store first when I am seeking other books.

I went there just to browse with my daughter and see if there was anything that caught my eye, we had a nice time doing that the store was clean, and the staff really were in the zone helping people who actually have questions, but they were always present and always moving about so I did feel that if I needed anything, someone was immediately available for me to ask. This is my go to Barnes & Noble because the newest one Tequesta is kind of far but if you have the opportunity check that one out. The layout is totally different and it's a little bit brighter and the staff is a bit more interactive I think because of the newness. Barnes & Noble always has sales. They had plenty of books that were 30% off and buy one get one. And if you become a member, there's a lot of Parks for that too. I think you get 10 or 20% off every purchase. I get mine from being a teacher. I'm sure they have other discount discounts for people who work in other areas. All in all, I appreciate mainly that when I'm there I can use a Barnes & Noble gift card in the coffee shop as well as to purchase books I included photos of some of my favorites attached to this review. The cashier was very friendly and enrolled me as a member to earn rewards. She was extremely knowledgeable and explained the perks to me. I've been here a few times and they have a decent selection and I usually can find what I need. The employees have been friendly and knowledgeable each visit and when I can't find what I'm looking for they help out. There is a Cafe inside which looks nice to sit and enjoy coffee and a book but I haven't done that here yet. The store is laid out well with room to navigate (not bunched together) easily. It may take a little bit to learn the genres and if you're looking for specific books, you may need to ask the staff for help. The staff here are nice and when I called to ask if they accepted donations, they politely said yes they will accept small amounts. I assume they may limit the amount they accept as there are many boxes of books there that are not even opened or on the shelves yet so they may be back logged. Used bookstores are a rare find and I think it's so awesome to have a place like Bookwise in the local community!

It is very uninviting from the outside because you can't see inside the windows. I almost skipped going in but after looking at some photos online I was curious and decided to check it out anyway despite my negative first impression. The aisles are filled floor to ceiling with books arranged by categories. After looking around for a few minutes I wanted to ask about prices so I went to the counter where an older lady with bleached blond hair was working. I inquired about how much the books cost but she gave a vague answer that they are different prices. I tried to dig deeper to find out how I would know what they cost. Where they marked or did I just have to bring up the book I was interested in to find out? Before I finished she cut me off with a rude "I don't have time to price all of these books!" I felt like I was asking a fairly simple question but she made it clear that I was irritating her so I left. My encounter here was very strange because typically everyone I meet in Port St. Lucie are delightful. It was one of the reasons I came her to shop on my day off. I was hoping to grab a few books but I know a lot of other friendlier and more welcoming places to spend my money.

This bookstore is pretty typical of smaller stores but has a nice selection of science fiction and fantasy including some old British paperbacks of sword and sorcery and several Chris Bunch novels I wished later that I had bought. A lot of paperbacks showed wear on the spines, as if they'd been read and returned a few times, which is cool. The clerk was friendly. The prices were a little higher than I expected on some used books but not enough to deter me from making a purchase.
