We highly recommend Barnoski Painting for your next painting project. Barnoski Painting was a family referral that also had their exterior home painted. They were very satisfied with their work and results, so when I inquired, Barnoski Painting was highly recommended. I met Erk in mid-August 2024, he promptly introduced himself and their local family small business history as well noting my family referral along with several others in the nearby San Francisco Peninsula. We then walked around our home site, and Erik was able to note flaws and conditions that should be addressed with our painting project. He was professional and passionate in his profession, and I certainly value his suggestions and recommendations. He offered up a few options, paint recommendations and the effort to refresh our exterior 2 stories home to a newer appearance. He emailed the detailed quote with the options discussed within a few days and I returned signed and paid the deposit to proceed. Over the next few months, we were challenged with the exterior window replacement project that was a very large effort. To compound the already stressful issues, we encountered leaks that required additional stucco work that pushed the painting portion out even further. During the whole process, I would update Erik and was continuously working with a potential start date. I appreciated his patience and professionalism. When everything was almost done and ready, Erik was kind again to stop by and reassessed the exterior painting needs. He offered additional option to protect and paint over the newly cured stucco! He sent over the updated quote, and I signed and returned. This was in late November 2024. The next few Fall and Winter months will be tough for there's only so much you can do with cold winters storms as well as competing jobs that were also getting pushed out. We were patience for we understand the challenge. Finally in late March 2025, weather cooperated, and Barnoski Painting was able to start our much anticipated painting project. Mike and team arrived early in their moving sized truck and promptly greeted us, discussed their painting process and steps. Mike and team would prep, work and cleaned up after each day. He would check in if certain protective covers were okay for the night or if anything needs to be taken care of after each day. Our exterior project completed in 2 weeks, and we are very satisfied with the high quality professional work of Barnoski Painting. We appreciate their patience, professionalism and communication. I have met with Erik at my house where he very patiently walked me through my options, answered all of my questions kindly, and was able to give me a quote on the spot. In the past, I have worked with a contractor that couldn't match the color of my house to new paint and it was a concern for me. Our experience with Barnowski Painting was different than most of the other reviews. This is going back to 2013, but I think this review is still relevant because it speaks to how well their work withstood the test of time. We hired Barnowski to paint the exterior of our home in Daly City. First, Wayne and his crew did the job on schedule and on budget as contracted. However, within a month of the job being completed the paint started bubbling badly on many of the wood surfaces, e.g., garage door, door frames, etc. To his credit, he came out and retouched the areas that were bubbling, but the fix was poorly done and you could see large swaths of areas where they scraped and repainted. After consulting other professional painters, they said the surfaces were not prepared correctly in the first place, which created these problems. Within three years of the job, the bubbling came back in other areas and within 5 years the garage door and much of the trim of the house looked awful. The poor paint job resulted in cracking and peeling in areas on the roofline, which led to dry rot in several areas of trim around the roof. After his first attempt at fixing the poor work, I did not contact Wayne again because I could no longer trust his work. In fairness, maybe they would have tried to make it right, but I certainly would not hire them again. The price for the work was fair market rate at the time, not significantly higher nor discounted. I hired them based on reputation via Yelp and another Daly City resident who had used them. These checks proved to be less than helpful in my case. I just wanted to share this with the Yelp community to give you another perspective on Barnowski Painting. read more

I've known Wayne Barnoski since he first began house painting. Even in the beginning he had a passion for perfection that surprised me. Later I had him do my home and two rental homes I had. I was able to confer with him on colors and type of paint to use and then just turn him loose. He completed work in a timely manner preparing the surfaces carefully (some were really aged) and always cleaned up every scrap of waste as well as finding and removing any spills (there weren't many). Now, 5 years later, the paint is still not cracked or peeling anywhere I can see, and even the sunny side of the houses are great. I sold both of the rentals and didn't have to do any touch up which probably saved me a ton on the price. Anyway, Wayne Barnoski Painting is a company you can trust and rely on.
