Over the past couple of years, my elderly father, who has lived in his home for nearly 60 years, had been wanting to repaint the exterior. He entrusted me with finding the right contractor, and after reaching out to several companies, I was left unimpressed. Quotes were either excessively high or the contractors themselves seemed disinterested in taking on a home built in the 1950s. That changed the moment I found Barnoski Painting. Being located just a mile from my father's home and having served the community as a family-owned business for over 50 years immediately stood out. When I called, Eric, the owner, made time to meet me that same day due to my circumstances. From the outset, he was responsive, punctual, and highly professional. During our walkthrough, I explained my father's situation and that I would be the primary point of contact. My father shared a few specific requests, particularly restoring the front door and maintaining the existing color scheme. Eric took the time to walk us through the different service levels they offer, but what impressed me most was his honesty. Rather than trying to upsell, he assessed the home carefully and pointed out where attention was truly needed so the job would be priced fairly. Standing in the driveway, he provided a quote on the spot. It was not only fair, it was exceptional. Without hesitation, I told my father to write the deposit check immediately. Eric's professionalism, demeanor, and transparency far exceeded that of any contractor I have worked with, and there have been many. We signed the contract right then and there. Although the project was initially scheduled for later in the month, Eric called a few days later with an earlier opening. As someone who values communication and punctuality, I can confidently say Barnoski Painting exceeded every expectation. On the first day, their crew, Eric, his brother Mike, who is the foreman, along with Phineas and Nick, arrived on time, prepared, and ready to work. Not only were they highly skilled, but they were also personable and genuinely good people. From the start, there was an immediate sense of trust. What truly set them apart, however, was how they treated my father. Beyond delivering an A plus paint job, they interacted with him with a level of kindness, patience, and respect that went far beyond professionalism. It felt like family. That meant more to me than I can adequately put into words. During the process, some dry rot was discovered. Barnoski Painting referred us to Crittenden Construction. While I was under no obligation to use them, I met with Vernon, the owner, and had the same experience. Fair pricing, excellent attention to detail, and outstanding professionalism. He even came out on a Saturday to complete the work and treated my father with the same level of respect and care. It speaks volumes about Barnoski Painting that they align themselves with other professionals of that caliber. Simply put, I cannot in good conscience give them just five stars. This is a 15 star company. Their commitment to quality, integrity, communication, and client care is unmatched in my experience. There is a reason this family owned business has thrived for over half a century. If you are considering a painting contractor and want true peace of mind, look no further than Barnoski Painting. They are, without question, a diamond level organization. If you want, I can make a shorter punchy version for Google or a slightly more casual Yelp version. read more

We spent a long time researching painters before choosing Barnoski Painting, and we're very glad we did. The quality of the workmanship exceeded our expectations, and our house looks beautiful. 100% go with Barnoski Painting! We're repeat customers and just as happy the second time around. This time they tackled our exterior. Previously, they did a stellar job on our interior. What sets them apart is their knowledge and care in what they do. They didn't just slap a coat of paint over the old stuff, they meticulously sanded off old layers, repaired wood rot on our window frames, and even took care of matching the colors on the downspouts. They are knowledgeable, friendly, and kept the job site spotless every day. It's clear they understand the specific needs of Doelger homes, and especially those that get the salty Daly City fog. Erik and Mike are fantastic! read more

We highly recommend Barnoski Painting for your next painting project. Barnoski Painting was a family referral that also had their exterior home painted. They were very satisfied with their work and results, so when I inquired, Barnoski Painting was highly recommended. I met Erk in mid-August 2024, he promptly introduced himself and their local family small business history as well noting my family referral along with several others in the nearby San Francisco Peninsula. We then walked around our home site, and Erik was able to note flaws and conditions that should be addressed with our painting project. He was professional and passionate in his profession, and I certainly value his suggestions and recommendations. He offered up a few options, paint recommendations and the effort to refresh our exterior 2 stories home to a newer appearance. He emailed the detailed quote with the options discussed within a few days and I returned signed and paid the deposit to proceed. Over the next few months, we were challenged with the exterior window replacement project that was a very large effort. To compound the already stressful issues, we encountered leaks that required additional stucco work that pushed the painting portion out even further. During the whole process, I would update Erik and was continuously working with a potential start date. I appreciated his patience and professionalism. When everything was almost done and ready, Erik was kind again to stop by and reassessed the exterior painting needs. He offered additional option to protect and paint over the newly cured stucco! He sent over the updated quote, and I signed and returned. This was in late November 2024. The next few Fall and Winter months will be tough for there's only so much you can do with cold winters storms as well as competing jobs that were also getting pushed out. We were patience for we understand the challenge. Finally in late March 2025, weather cooperated, and Barnoski Painting was able to start our much anticipated painting project. Mike and team arrived early in their moving sized truck and promptly greeted us, discussed their painting process and steps. Mike and team would prep, work and cleaned up after each day. He would check in if certain protective covers were okay for the night or if anything needs to be taken care of after each day. Our exterior project completed in 2 weeks, and we are very satisfied with the high quality professional work of Barnoski Painting. We appreciate their patience, professionalism and communication. Their recommended Sherman Williams paint sheens were spot on, and we are very satisfied that this will give our home a very high quality protective shield! Don't hesitate to call them for your next painting project. Thank you, Barnoski Painting. read more

I just had my home power washed by Barnoski Painting and I couldn't be happier with the results. My house was grimy with dirt and the usual algae and moss that comes from living so close to the ocean in Daly City. I was looking for a company that I could trust to do this job without pressurizing my new paint off the stucco of my home, and my Google searches led me to Barnoski Painting. I have been trusting the painting of my home exclusively to Barnoski Painting for decades, so I felt tremendous relief when I realized that I could turn this task over to them as well. Erik Barnoski recommended the "maintenance soft wash" as part of my house paint maintenance and I think this is a great idea! The paint job I invested in a few years ago looks fabulous again, and I've increased my curb appeal and beauty of my home with one easy step. I can't recommend Barnoski Painting enough for both house painting and now pressure washing. read more

My husband and I highly recommend Barnoski Painting, a family-owned business. They painted the outside of our house and did an excellent job. The Barnoski brothers and crew went above and beyond in preparing the surface, painting the exterior, and making sure we were happy with their work. We could feel their commitment to excellence and pride in their workmanship. Those qualities mean so much to us, and we cannot give them higher praise than that. If you have put off getting your house painted, we strongly urge you to contact Barnoski Painting. At least give them a shot at giving you an estimate. We promise you won't be disappointed. Sincerely, Very Happy Clients read more

Hand on heart, these guys are awesome! Barnoski Painting did a full exterior painting of my house and got beautiful results. I asked them for a quote last February and Erik came by for an assessment. He provided me the options I have and gave me an estimate. Erik and Mike did the exterior work, with Mike finished it off on the last day. They are very efficient and very fast (though of course it depends on the complexity of the job), all done in 3 days. And as promised, they gave me the color scheme I wanted and provided good advice on which trims should have the contrasting colors. Throughout the process, they kept the place clean and tidy. Their pricing is very reasonable as well, and for me it was the best when I shopped around for the project. So if you need some painting work done, I highly recommend Barnoski Painting. read more

Barnoski Painting did a phenomenal job with the exterior of our house that needed A LOT of work. From the start Erik was very professional and communicative. He offered fair prices, showed us examples of their previous work, and was extremely knowledgable. We were choosing between a few color schemes and he gave advice on what combinations would withstand the Daly City weather longer. The Barnoski team did impeccable work. They worked quickly, paid close attention to detail, patching many areas of the wood that had dry rot. At the end of each day they left everything spotless. I will highly recommend Barnoski Painting to anyone looking for painters from now on! You won't be disappointed. read more

Barnoski Painting has been our go to painting company. They have painted my mom's house (interior/exterior), my MIL's house (exterior), and now my own house (interior/exterior). They are prompt, fair, and do quality work. Communication was a breeze and we really appreciated their efficiency. We won't have painting projects for a while, but I highly recommend them for your next project! read more

Barnoski painting did both the outside and inside of our home and their work is impeccable. They did all the heavy lifting inside and made sure we were completely happy before they left. Their attention to detail is impressive. They work so diligently yet somehow take the stress off the homeowners in the middle of a huge project. Our interiors took two full weeks, and we went from dark colors to neutral ones, so every room needed priming and two coats of color. They were not satisfied until they knew the results would be perfect. I was also struggling with the interior paint colors. They applied sample after sample helping us make the right color decisions. I highly recommend the Barnoski team, and their rates are completely reasonable considering the high quality of their work. read more

Having seen our neighbor's house painted by them prompted us to ask for a quote. True enough, we got what we paid for! The prep done, which was more detailed than previous painters we've had, was worth it! So glad to have entrusted Barnoski painting company!!! read more

He literally came over to my house for dinner and had the exact note below written out on a piece of notepad paper. Awesome job Barnoski's! I wanted to give a Five star rating to Barnoski Painting a company in San Mateo County, CA. A family business managed by the original owners son Michael who has been great to work with. Their entire team are all down to earth guys who get the job done with excellent results and a positive attitude. Just over Five years ago they painted the exterior of my house and it was a great experience. They offer a fair price, show up on time and even confirmed my approval before the job was officially completed. A few weeks back they painted the interior of my house and provided the exact same results. Called Barnoski Painting to save they day. Erik took time to explain the process, and even helped me decide on colors and what would look best. Any questions I had, he was there to patiently answer. I would start with that. You should definitely hire Barnoski painting for any paint-related project you may have. I hired Barnoski for an exterior paint job. I have met with Erik at my house where he very patiently walked me through my options, answered all of my questions kindly, and was able to give me a quote on the spot. In the past, I have worked with a contractor that couldn't match the color of my house to new paint and it was a concern for me. Erik and his team were able to match the new paint to my existing paint so good I couldn't even spot the difference. Amazing work. Erik and his team showed up on time and did magnificent work while working efficiently. I have been working with professionals for a while and this is the most efficient team I have worked with. I would 100% hire them again in the future for any paint-related job I would need. read more

Our experience with Barnowski Painting was different than most of the other reviews. This is going back to 2013, but I think this review is still relevant because it speaks to how well their work withstood the test of time. We hired Barnowski to paint the exterior of our home in Daly City. First, Wayne and his crew did the job on schedule and on budget as contracted. However, within a month of the job being completed the paint started bubbling badly on many of the wood surfaces, e.g., garage door, door frames, etc. To his credit, he came out and retouched the areas that were bubbling, but the fix was poorly done and you could see large swaths of areas where they scraped and repainted. After consulting other professional painters, they said the surfaces were not prepared correctly in the first place, which created these problems. Within three years of the job, the bubbling came back in other areas and within 5 years the garage door and much of the trim of the house looked awful. The poor paint job resulted in cracking and peeling in areas on the roofline, which led to dry rot in several areas of trim around the roof. After his first attempt at fixing the poor work, I did not contact Wayne again because I could no longer trust his work. In fairness, maybe they would have tried to make it right, but I certainly would not hire them again. The price for the work was fair market rate at the time, not significantly higher nor discounted. I hired them based on reputation via Yelp and another Daly City resident who had used them. These checks proved to be less than helpful in my case. I just wanted to share this with the Yelp community to give you another perspective on Barnowski Painting. read more

4 minutes ago Erik was super straightforward and professional. Gave me a fair price estimate to do a complete interior and exterior paint job on my Mothers Daly City home. His price was pretty much in the middle of a few competitors. Communicated well and texted me photos of his crews progress. I am so glad I chose Barnoski Painting! Fantastic detailed work. Thorough prep on exterior. Great color suggestions and the crew left the house super clean. I would hire Erik and his crew again for future projects. You should too!!! read more

I've known Wayne Barnoski since he first began house painting. Even in the beginning he had a passion for perfection that surprised me. Later I had him do my home and two rental homes I had. I was able to confer with him on colors and type of paint to use and then just turn him loose. He completed work in a timely manner preparing the surfaces carefully (some were really aged) and always cleaned up every scrap of waste as well as finding and removing any spills (there weren't many). Now, 5 years later, the paint is still not cracked or peeling anywhere I can see, and even the sunny side of the houses are great. I sold both of the rentals and didn't have to do any touch up which probably saved me a ton on the price. Anyway, Wayne Barnoski Painting is a company you can trust and rely on. I recommend them wholeheartedly. read more
