This is a really charming brewery. The people are incredibly friendly and excited about their product. You feel very welcome as soon as you walk through the door. The inside of the brewery is very nice and unpretentious with a lot of seating, and they also have a large outdoor patio with tons of Adirondack chairs and a few picnic tables. The beer was very good. We tried a couple IPAs, a coconut porter, a barleywine, and a maibock. The barleywine was on nitro which was surprising, but it was actually really lovely. If you're going to have a business in the heat of Cape Cod, of course you should play that up a bit... throw a few "Wicked's" around... spell a few words in the style of local accents (but don't overdo it). For me, that added a little bit of fun and charm to Barnstable Brewing. That is, as long as you also remember to put out good beer, which they do (I certainly wouldn't want "Wicked Bland" beer). I enjoyed my Porter - oops, excuse me, PORTAH - but I if were ordering a flight or at least a second pour, it would have been that coffee blonde ale, unique and distinctive. The brewery is also dog friendly with food trucks outside. Seating is at the bar, high tables, and an area with sofas in the corner. Over the past few years, there's been a growing number of breweries on the Cape. This is one you should consider. read more

Enjoy this place. Friendly staff and good beers. But the past 2 times I've gone there have been barking dogs. Big barking labs with obnoxious owners. Then a lady came in with 2 yappy dogs that got the lab going louder. Yes they were leashed but I don't care. Left out beers half full and won't go back for a while. I won't go where loud barking dogs are allowed in and nothing is done. Hope the dogs have money to spend. read more

Cool vibe inside with enough seating for big or small groups- bench seats, high tops, couches etc. I spied a few games as well while we were looking at the menu. Tried the sour which was tasty but even better was the smore stout. Normally I am not a big fan of darker beers including stouts and porters but hot dang... this was so tasty and I could only imagine a scoop of vanilla ice cream to really take it to another level! Only odd thing is the lack of bathrooms inside. I could understand if it was a pick-up and go venue only but if you allow patrons inside to sit and sample flights AND full pours... you need to get a bathroom going peeps. read more

This place is a joke! After seeing pics of a huge seafood platter and someone telling me it was the real deal I decided to give it a try and was immediately unimpressed and turned off so I left. As soon as I walked through the door I was greeted by the bartender who asked if I was there to drink or eat. I said I was there to eat and there was an old woman behind the hostess station who barked out "We're not ready yet and we are out of a bunch of things". It was 4:25 when I arrived and they claim to open at 4:00 so I'd presume they should be ready to accommodate diners by 4:25. As I looked over at the miserable old lady I noticed a dog laying next to her, which I found a bit odd but it is what it is, I immediately turned around and walked out of the door. Place looked very old, and given how I was treated by "misery" I'll say I will never set foot in the place again. read more

Hard no for this place. I went in & I tried several beers. None had any depth or real character which was surprising. They were meh. The interior was also pretty uninspiring: I found the layout & decor to be pretty boring & pedestrian. The older woman Manager was very rude, unhelpful and unwelcoming which was also disappointing. This place has very strong ties & clearly caters to local police officers. They must have relatives or close friends on the force. Anyway. Just overall not impressed at all with anything. Barnstable Brewing is a craft brewery that opened in Hyannis, Massachusetts in September 2017. It was founded by husband and wife Peter and Ann Connor as well as their son Mike, who serves as the brew master. Opening a brewery was a dream for Peter for several years. He received the green light from the town zoning board to begin work building a brewery, but a permitting dispute with a neighboring business stalled the project for a few years. In that time, son Mark studied biology and brewing and received Master Brewer certification from Doemens Academy in Munich, Germany. The delay in opening the brewery allowed the family to acquire harder-to-find hops and expand their repertoire of beers. Today they offer a variety of draft styles that range from European classics to newer American staples. My wife and I visited Barnstable Brewing for the first time in July 2019. I had spent most of the day cycling on the Cape Cod Rail Trail and had built up quite a thirst. The brewery had a nice taproom where customers could enjoy a variety of games. My wife and I played a few games of 'Giant Connect Four'. I ordered a sampler fight which included a blueberry ale, a pale ale, a New England IPA and a milk stout. My favorite was the New England IPA (called "Examen #23"). I purchased a four-pack of cans to go. Overall, we enjoyed our stay at Barnstable Brewing and we would stop by again and if we're ever in the area. read more

It has been quite some time since I had the opportunity to check out the Cape Cod Brew scene and my spouse's birthday was a great excuse to spend an afternoon at Barnstable Brewing. We visited on a Saturday and were warmly greeted by the staff as we entered. The space itself has plenty of tables and couches inside, but also an impressive outdoor seating area complete with multiple picnic tables and Adirondack chairs in both sun exposed and shaded areas. The space including the bathrooms was very clean. I have to say I was impressed that they have 12 rotating taps available with quite a diverse profile. I am used to many places in New England predominantly focusing on IPAs, but BB offered such diversity - hard lemonade, lagers, fruit beer, IPA, brown ale, sours, marzens, etc. I settled on a flight and tried the Blueberry Summer Beer, Amerihop, Bock This Way, and the Vanilla Milkshake IPA. They are held their own and were very enjoyable! The blueberry beer was indeed light and refreshing and was a great balance of fruity nose, but with biscuit notes that lingered giving it a very crisp finish. The Amerihop has a nice light weight for a pale ale, but also had smoky overtones that distinguished itself. I enjoyed the malty caramel Bock this Way that to me had a subtle toasty brown sugar overtone. Perhaps my favorite was the vanilla milkshake as it's such a unique IPA . It definitely had a vanilla nose with a creamy finish and still retained the juiciness of an IPA in the body. They claim its perfectly balanced I a completely agree! Admittedly I cannot remember exact pricing, but on a whole thought their samplers, drafts, and cans were on point for the market (approx $6-8 on average for a pint). You can also purchase small snacks and charcuterie boards or potentially bring your own food. It seems like depending on the time of year they partner with restaurants as well. All in all between the vibe, service, pricing, and diversity of tastings I can't ask for more for a brewery experience. Barnstable Brewing would be perfect solo, couples, friends, or for families. What an adorable space ! The boyfriend and I went on a beer day trip and wanted to stop in and grab a brew. We sat outside and it's a really comfortable welcoming space. A lot of seating so room for all. They had a Decent sized beer list so we had a sample rack. The pumpkin beer had just come out so I had that. It was so good I bought a four pack to bring home. I wanted to like the beer at Barnstable Brewing, but I really didn't. Maybe the limited # of beers to try was not enough to find one I would like. The building has an attractive outside appearance, and the interior is wide open with several pub height tables and stools. The bar is also of decent size with comfortable stools. We arrived around 4pm, had a friendly greet and went to order. The menu had just 4 beers, but one was now out so we ordered the 3 available. Fyi, I'm really not an IPA fan, instead I seek and like more malty ales, Sessions, stouts, etc. So we had the 3 on tap, the K-Dub (weissbeir), Amerihop (American pale ale), and Examen #18 (Ipa). Unfortunately I did not like the banana flavor in the K-Dub, just not a beer to me. Then the Amerihop ale was more hoppy than smooth, called an Ale yet tastes bitter. But the Examen Ipa tasted the best, like a good Ipa should, with citrus notes. Sorry, this beer drinker needs more variety and more malty beer. Also, the pricing strategy is off...charging different prices ($3, $4, $5) for each beer sampler (and pints). Never seen that before. read more

I was looking for a cool craft brewery spot, that offered beer flights, outdoor seating, and IPAs. Barnstable Brewing offered all of the above. They have a nice outside patio seating section, with umbrellas that block the sun from hitting you. Their beer selection was excellent. I tried 4 differnet kinds on my beer flight. Their American Pale Ale, New England IPA, Milkshake IPA, and Pumpkin Brew. All four of these beers were amazing. The IPAs were so good that we had to order a ln additional 16oz glass of each one. The Milkshake IPA overall was my favorite. I would definitely recommend this beer (and place) to everyone. We stayed here for about an hour and a half, just hanging out with my girlfriend and enjoying the nice weather. Even ordered a Wobbly Jack pumpkin beer for their last call. My girlfriend loved the pumpkin beer one. I also enjoyed it, as pumpkin brews have that unique taste. If you're in this area, definitely come to this brewery. read more

5 Star atmosphere. 5 Star beer. 5 Star family who owns the place. 2 stars for price. $6 for a sample or $5 for a sample or $4 for a sample is NOT OK. With another brewery 5 min down the street serving $5 flights for 5 beers, there is NO way they'll be able to sustain those price points. Way overpriced. We paid $35 for a flight of 4 beers, a pint, and another sample. That's 32 ounces of beer for $35. Yikes. I really want this place to survive and prosper. They get mad points for personality and I love the ingenuity of their logo and the quality of the beer. All four were outstanding and all were drastically different styles. Pater familias obviously cares about his brews and is particular about his Brewing and distribution (I.e. canning) style. They just need to lower the prices and it will be perfect! read more

The KDub was one of the best beers I've had in a while. Kind service. They were even nice enough to give a free frisbee to my young nephew.

We stopped by to check it out and were very pleasantly surprised. Their blueberry beer is delicious and highly recommended by all 6 of us. The pretzel bites were really good with the homemade beer cheese. The beer cheese is made with their IPA beer. The staff was amazing and very helpful! We stopped by here as part of our own unofficial Cape brewery tour - the space is lovely but I find it frustrating when breweries don't offer reasonably priced samples! At $4-$5 for a sample we each had one and then we were out of there. The beer was ok - the sweet stout I had a decent but the IPA was just ok. It seems like they might be a newer business so I hope that they can work out some of the issues and maybe I will try them again next time I am in town. read more

We had a great first visit to Barnstable Brewing Company today! They are still extremely new --today was only day 3 or 4 being open. The staff/owners are extremely friendly and the space is spacious and inviting. We got there about 1pm, an hour after opening and in the hour and a half or so we were there it got quite busy so I can only imagine it was even busier later in the day. They don't have all their glassware in yet so as of today, they were only offering flights and 4oz pours. They will be offering full pours once the glassware is in. I tried the session IPA, the American Pale Ale (APA), New England IPA, Sweet stout and imperial stout and skipped the styles I'm less keen on (wheat beer and amber). All the beers were solid but the APA was my favorite and my husband also really liked the session IPA. Right now they have free pretzels and you can also buy slices of regular or pepperoni pizza. (We didn't have any). They also have t-shirts and other branded schwag for purchase. They are definitely figuring things out so it will be fun to come back and see how the business grows and also how the beers evolve. Right now they don't have that many tables (in addition to the bar) but there is a lot of room to expand for more seating. They also had regular sized and "life size" Jenga for people to play as well as a sweet play area in the corner for young kids. The owners have clearly gotten the memo that beer drinkers like to tote their kids around so at least they have prepared for it. By the time we left a couple of the beers had already kicked (run out) with no back up kegs so I'm glad we went early to have our pick. Again, they are so new they are probably still figuring out how often they need to brew and a lot of logistical things. With the lack of good craft beer/breweries on the Cape, this is definitely worth checking out and supporting a local brewery and nice group of people! read more

Barnstable Brewing has a few more downs than ups. Beer is good and the brewery is a nice open space to hang out with friends and family. Staff was friendly and helpful with any questions but the prices are just too high. You can't charge $1 per oz, that's like playing $16 for a pint. Hopefully they make the price change, it'd be nice to have a place to enjoy good beer and visit again. read more

We kept missing them and going by them when they were closed , lol but we eventually found them when they were open. Awesome experience! It was a blast! I learned so much about their beers and got to taste a wonderful selection. Our large group, some more experienced beer drinkers than others, were all extremely pleased. They could not have been more gracious and welcoming. Service was top notch as well as fun and relaxing. Eating Mom and Pop's delicious burgers from their food truck with our beers was perfect. Highly recommended. Having their own parking lot made it very accessible, so we will be coming back even though it is a drive away. read more
