We made a dinner reservation at this Barnwood Restaurant at the Great Wolf Lodge in Niagara Falls because my daughter's family was staying there. The reservation was for 6 adults and 2 children. When the 4 of us showed up at the Lodge, they wanted to charge us $75 each for a Day Pass in order to get in. We explained that we had no intention to use any other facility, only came to have dinner in the Restaurant and that my daughter's family were guests there, but they insisted we could not enter without paying for the passes. I wish Yelp had told us that in order to eat there, you have to be a registered guest, or pay an extra $75 each. Very disappointing, so we cancelled the dinner reservation and went elsewhere. read more

Food was great. No problems there. Service was also great (Aiden was super!!). My only problem was that the service was very slow. It wasn't that busy so it was surprising how long it took for the food to get out (our total stay was over 1.5hrs). That's a bit long when there's kids at the table. read more

We ate here because we had a $100 voucher, so that affected our experience for sure. The seating and lighting was very nice, and they had very comfortable couches that we sat on. The filet mignon brodo was really good, and the sauce was really flavorful. I don't think it would be worth the price, but if you happen to also have a $100 voucher then I would recommend getting it. Next I got the sriracha salmon filet, and it was good but was not spicy at all and needed a side of sauce. Both mains came with 2 sides which was really nice. The caramalized onion and mushroom side was really disappointing and was lacking any flavor, which is a bummer because it sounded really delicious. I would recommend against getting that. My younger brother ordered chicken and pasta off the kids menu and he is very particular about not having the sauce on the pasta and asked for it to be on the side. Since this restaurant is in a family establishment, I assumed they would be very accommodating to a kids request. However, they did not bring the sauce on the side, and when we asked them to correct it, it took them 45 minutes to get another dish. By then the whole family had finished their meals before my younger brother got his food. This really affected our enjoyment and ensured that we would not come and dine here again. read more

We made reservations for 7:45. We arrived about 10 minutes early. The hostess took our name and asked if we made reservations and we said we did. She looks at something and said let me check on a table and I will be right back. She disappeared for about 20 minutes. Came back and then ask the next group if they had reservations, and again said let me check on your table. Disappeared for another 15 minutes. The sat the larger group first. I thought maybe they were really busy and didn't have a small table. I moved to where I could see in and I could see 2 tables right off the bat the sat 4 (we were a party of 3). About 5 minutes after seating the large group she came back asked us again about our reservations, looked at her computer and papers for several minutes, then said let me check on a table and disappeared again for a few minutes and the sat us. When we got in and looked around there were probably 8 tables we could have been sat. In side the restaurant wasn't bad. Cowboy theme. Did have metal baskets with one plate in the on the was. That was a bit weird. Server was very nice. Food arrived about 20 to 30 minutes later. It was just ok. My daughter and I had steaks. My wife had chicken. The steaks were good kind on the small side for the prices. My wife's chicken was really bad. Kind of tasted fishy. We couldn't figure out if it was the weird seasoning or was cooked in a pan with fish. Overall wasn't worth the hefty price, insane wait time, and average food and in some dishes just plain bad. For the 3 of us it was about $140 US. Wouldn't go back. read more

This was such a nice change to eat at Great Wolf! The food was fantastic and the ambiance was so cute. Especially since it was decorated for Christmas. Our server was attentive and helpful with our questions. Our drinks were delicious and came out quickly. The food was fantastic, a nice treat compared to the regular antler shanty/buffet food. Sooo first things first, this is located within Great Wolf Lodge so if you aren't staying there you won't be going! That being said this new restaurant is clearly GWL's attempt to offer something a little more "upscale" for in house dining than Pizza and burgers from Northwoods or the buffet dining options.... It's... Interesting, I'll give it that. It's literally located down one of the hotel basement halls, and looks like it's a converted meeting or event room maybe? Between that and the fact it's GWL and everyone has kids the ambiance is a bit odd. It's not a big room at all. But, if you get past that you may find yourself pleasantly surprised. The food was all *excellent* if *Very* pricey (What isn't pricey at GWL right? ) and the service was truly great. Our server,( I forget his name now ‍ young guy, 25 years old I think he said he was) Was truly next level. Had two very young kids with us and he spent the whole time talking with them, telling stories, listening to theirs.... All between bringing us our meals. He was great. All in all if you've got money to burn and want a decent meal you can drag your Rugrats to while at GWL give it a try. Terrible birthday experience. We had to get our own high chair and the server ignored us for over 15 minutes. Then we asked for a piece of paper for our kids draw on and even that never came so they drew on the back of the menu paper. The food was super dry and tasted terrible. Apparently the server unlike the other ten million restaurants could not communicate with the chef about intolerances not even an anaphylaxis reaction and the chef needs to come out personally to ask a simple question and clarify a very standard dietary intolerance that 10 million other restaurants of below or above their calibre could communicate without requiring a chef to come out. We were also heavily discriminated and our birthday was on purposely ignored. Definitely not a problem with being too busy - they're really hurting for business and we saw a family sit there and leave within 7 minutes of not being served. That should have been our hint to leave. Just stay far away if you don't want to be upset. I put in a complaint and the manager was super condescending and berated me for being "biased" and interrupted me without listening to me talk. If you want worse service than food stalls then come here. The pizza place had way better service. Evidently service means nothing here when 3 servers are MIA and everyone is waiting for their food and tables full of dirty plates are left for over 20-30 minutes untouched. We had get up and talk to the hostess four times so if you want a buffet experience paying a fake sit down restaurant price . Their app willow texted 5 times asking make reservations tons of spots left - evidently not enough business - I really wonder why. read more

The staff was absolutely fabulous. The speed of the service and the drinks were also very good. However, the food was not so great at all. The Caesar salad was very interesting and very good. My wife and I both got two different steaks, and they were extremely thin, and were horrible. We talked about doing the Buffet instead and it would've been a maybe $50 difference so going to this restaurant and being served by some really good people was worth it read more

Excellent new upscale dinning option at Great Wolf Lodge. Many options from lobster to steak with several vegetarian and even vegan options. Reasonably priced everything considered. Decent local wine list with some international options. Attentive service. Nice dinning environment. Kid friendly options. Would definitely return to try other items on the menu. The food was horrible. I ordered the 10 oz ny striploin with truffle fries and Mac and cheese, the truffle fries were okay. Mac and cheese were dry, the steak was chewy. I almost choked on the steak, luckily I had water or else I would've choked. My family was unsatisfied with the food. The first time we ate here, the steak was sooo tender, fries were actually good and the Mac and cheese were alright. The service was good. Calling it elegant is a reach. It's nice food and tastefully decorated. They accommodated a request for a simpler meal for a child. The furniture look nice but is uncomfortable - I don't want to lounge in a semi reclined position on a couch to eat dinner, the table legs interact poorly with the couches. The hostess stand is outside the restaurant in the hall so you have to wait forever for the hostess to see you - they should move it inside. There was limited availability apparently and they "got us in" for a reservation but half the tables were empty the entire time we were there. Drinks are over priced - $13 for 5oz wine is a bit nuts. They don't appear to have proper booster seats to fit the style of chairs there... and it's in a family geared hotel. The food was nice - I had the lamb and the serving was generous. The mashed potatoes and seasonal vegetables were great. The children's steak was very thin - I would have expected a nicer cut. Some fine tuning of the hostess stand and reservation seatings/bookings and adjusting furniture to be more practical for families could make it a really great experience. I will say - the total price was not much higher than the buffet and the food was far tastier and doesn't promote over-eating like the buffet does. read more

This experience really did not live up to the hype. The food was very average and two items that we ordered off the menu were out of stock. The quality of the food was definitely not worth the price, although the service was good. EDIT following your feedback: We were not aware of the root vegetables that you mention were out of stock - the Jackson Triggs wine that was our first choice was however out of stock and we settled on another bottle as a replacement. The plum sauce that usually comes with the chicken tenders was also out of stock, and we only became aware of this when the dish was delivered to the table without the sauce. When we enquired about this with our server, he apologized and explained that the sauce was out of stock. He also said that he would ask another staff member (who I assume was your dining room manager) to "check in the back" to see if they would be able to locate some sauce for us. They did this and eventually managed to produce some sauce, and this is why we we mentioned that we were happy with the service. The meat was however tough (both the lamb and pork belly) and was just unfortunately not up to expectation. We hope that you can use this feedback constructively to improve the experience for future customers. read more

"Fantastic food" is putting it mildly. The chefs here have elevated every dish in every way possible! We ate here twice and it was perfect each time. Fresh, beautiful, and creative dishes. The kids' menu brings delicious meals and very generous portions. The apps were phenomenal as well. You will absolutely not regret eating here at all. We had food allergies in our party and all of the staff were very kind, friendly, and accommodating, even inviting the chef out to speak with us. We were amazed by our overall experience--definitely don't forget Barnwood. read more

We have been coming to GWL for years and we were excited to see all the changes and try something different but don't waste your money. We arrived on time for our reservations and were seated right away. They greeted us asking for our beverage orders and then brought some lovely warmed bread. We ordered our mains and this is where it went downhill. Over 45 min wait. no check in by servers or updates on our food. When our food came there was no steak knives. i was hungry so I cut my food with a butter knife to discover it was raw and not medium. no one came to check on us. we had to track down servers. we even went to the empty hostess station to try and get knives. eventually after 15 min someone came out to serve another table. they remade my meal but at this time I had children done eating and I just took them back to the room while my partner got everything packed up. no check in about how the meal was and just a cheque dropped off to sign. it felt like they didn't want to acknowledge their terrible service and okay food. all the meat (lamb and steak) are full of fat. mashed potatoes were ok. the Mac and cheese is horribly bland. chicken parmesan is dry and the noddles are plain (no tomato sauce!!) honestly the best part was the fresh bread and butter. save yourself the $200 it costs for a family of four to eat here. read more
