This is a fine dining steak restaurant without the table-clothed tables. Sizable steaks are grilled…read moreover charcoal. They also serve as a butcher shop. They have a Michelin-recommended designation. They also have house-made charcuterie. When you choose a cut of meat, they bring it over to you so you can choose one. They tell you the exact weight (typically 0.5 lb to 1.0 lb) and cost. All meats are cooked medium-rare unless otherwise specified. There are minor changes to menu weekly, and are major changes monthly. There is a chef's table: counter seating for 4 in front of the head chef, Chef Gareth. These counter seats costs a little more. You can see the chef plating the dishes. He is willing to let you photograph and video the plating. I've previously dined here on 2024-11-29 and 2025-06-15. This review is about my visit on 2026-05-30. My mom and I arrived for a late lunch at 14:15. The server told us a steak would take 30 mins because the restaurant is still full. My mom was hungry so we asked about a vegetable side and we were told 5 mins. We were willing to have the vegetable first and then wait for the steak. We ordered the following: 1. Grilled Asparagus ($25). 2. Denver Steak ($47.95 from $70/lb). The asparagus dish tasted good. It consists of asparagus beurre blanc, quanciale (salt-cured meat), and pickled ramps. I've never had ramps before, which are onion-like vegetables, also called wild garlic or wild leeks. The pickling made them the strongest taste on the dish. The Denver cut is one step above a Sirloin cut. I've never had it before so I wanted to try. The Denver is a highly marbled, budget-friendly cut from the animal's chuck (shoulder). This restaurant's Denver ($70/lb) actually more expensive than the Sirloin ($60/lb). It was perfectly grilled as medium-rare with a deep, rich, beefy flavour, and melts like butter. The steak was sliced into thick slices and highly charred on one side. The Denver is typically dense so try cutting it along the grain. You can actually see a few pieces of large salt pieces, so the steak was saltier than usual. I was glad I tried a Denver, and would have it again. As a butcher shop, you can buy various fresh cuts. There are fridges for take-home choices like pork ragu, guanciale, and prime steaks. There is plenty of indoor seating and some outdoor seating. There is very loud music playing in the background making it hard for conversations. There is no free WiFi. The restaurant is wheelchair accessible. There are two gender-neutral washrooms, one of which is wheelchair accessible. There is free parking in their private parking lot and free neighbourhood street parking. Review 2026-098

The servers were friendly, and informative - explaining that the entire animal is used and not wasted. My favourite was the squash which was a perfect mix of savory and sweet. The rest of the table liked the beef tongue and smoked pork chop with the mushrooms. Portions were good as all of this was shared amongst 5 people.

We made a reservation and were pleasantly greeted upon arrival. We chose the beautiful patio and were told we were actually the first guests of the season to dine outdoors, which made the experience feel even more special. I enjoyed the Sausage + Shrimp Orecchiette (spicy sausage, shrimp, rapini, lemon, fresh tomato sauce), which was very well prepared. My only recommendation would be to use a more authentic rustic Italian sausage to elevate the dish even further. The Fried Calamari (candied lemon, chili aioli) were a big hit at our table and disappeared quickly. This is one of those places that consistently delivers. The food is thoughtfully prepared, the setting is beautiful, and the hospitality keeps you coming back. Overall, another wonderful experience and a restaurant I always look forward to returning to. We came by here for dinner and had a really good experience…read more The Service: The staff were very friendly and kind. The only problem was our waitress didn't check on us enough. We wanted some more drinks and lemon wedges but she never came back until much later. The Food: We ordered a New York Steak and the Oven roasted salmon to share. The New York Steak was cooked medium and it was absolutely perfect. It had a beautiful red like colour on the inside, was very tender and melted in our mouths. It was a fantastic cut of steak and I would really recommend this to anyone. The flavour was great too and I loved eating it with the chimichurri sauce. 5/5 stars The salmon was ok. It was hard and not tender. Our waitress told us it was good but we can honestly make better salmon at home. It was tough and cooked for too long. It would have been better with some lemon or lime but our waitress didn't return until the end of our meal. I would give this 2/5 stars. My fiancé chose the mashed potatoes and vegetables for his sides and he was really happy with them. I chose a baked potato with chimichurri sauce and green beans so my dish would be both gluten and dairy free. The baked potato was really good and tasted amazing with the chimichurri sauce. Would we return? We would return for steak but we would not recommend anything else on the menu besides the steaks since they killed the fish.

Food is delicious. Steaks were tender and perfect. Best filet I ever had. Better than Chris Ruth…read more The server was nice and professional. Ambiance I really like. Rustic and had posters which I took pictures of them.

A combination of the walnuts the goat cheese and the squash was really delicious a really good balance of flavors and textures I also tried a expresso Martini for the first time and it was strong! If I'm ever in the area again I definitely would go back there's so many options what I chose was not even a quarter of the menu

The tapas menu here is great and there's a wide variety of dishes to try. Our favourite dish was the Crispy Brussels Sprouts. It had a great portion size of the biggest brussels sprouts I've ever had. The sesame soy glaze was delicious and added a nice sauciness to the dish. We also enjoyed the caramelized onions and apple chunks. The Chimi Steak Frites were also great with a very good portion size. The sauce was very tasty and I was impressed by how crispy the fries stayed despite all the sauce. The Smoked Duck Steamed Bun was very good and had an excellent combination of flavours. I think for the price we would have liked another bun or at least a little more duck in each of the buns. The Salmon Fingers was the only dish we weren't super enthusiastic about. I love salmon, but I felt like deep frying it just obscured the salmon flavour so it didn't really have any strong flavour. Additionally, we only got three narrow strips of salmon which was a little disappointing. The corn salad was pretty unique; we didn't love it but didn't dislike it either. Overall we had a pretty fun experience here getting to try a few different dishes. I think we would come back here again some day to try more of the dishes we didn't order this time.
