YELP TOP REVIEWER ALERT: Sometimes the best restaurants are the ones hiding in plain sight! Since this was our last day in Niagara Falls, Canada, we wanted to find a nice breakfast restaurant close to our hotel. We were specifically looking for a buffet-style breakfast, and that's when we stumbled upon what I now consider a true hidden gem--the Secret Garden Restaurant! And let me tell you, the name couldn't be more appropriate. We entered the restaurant by walking down some stairs that led directly into the Secret Garden souvenir shop. At first, I thought, "Okay...did we come here for breakfast or shopping?" But the restaurant is actually tucked away in the rear of the souvenir shop. Once we found it, we discovered a very clean, neat, well-organized restaurant with a warm and inviting atmosphere. They even have outdoor seating for those who enjoy eating their breakfast with a little fresh air. When we walked in, we were warmly greeted by Ms. Marigold, the hostess. She was extremely welcoming and polite and escorted us to our section, where we met our server, Ms. Zoe. Ms. Zoe was an absolute sweetheart--friendly, polite, kind, and always wearing a beautiful smile. She promptly brought us water and coffee and then gave us the menu and plenty of time to decide what we wanted. No rushing us, no "Are you ready yet?" pressure. Just good old-fashioned hospitality. And then came the important part...BREAKFAST! I ordered the Garden Omelet ($21.99) with turkey bacon ($6.99) and wheat toast. We also ordered one egg with Canadian bacon and white toast ($18.99). Now, let's talk about that coffee! The coffee was excellent. The aroma alone brought back memories of my parents sitting together in the morning enjoying their coffee. You know a cup of coffee is good when it doesn't just wake you up--it takes you on a little trip down Memory Lane. The Garden Omelet was well-seasoned, flavorful, and very tasty, and the wheat toast was just as good. Everything came together for a very satisfying breakfast. Our food was brought out by Ms. Ashley, another very sweet young lady with a warm smile. It was obvious that the friendliness we experienced wasn't just a one-person thing--it seemed to be part of the culture of this restaurant. We also had the pleasure of meeting the owner, Mr. Mike, and what a real gentleman he is. You can tell a lot about a restaurant by the way the employees treat their customers, and Mr. Mike has clearly set a wonderful example. His employees seem to follow his leadership and have embraced his warm interpersonal skills and genuine hospitality. By the time we finished breakfast, I found myself thinking, "How in the world did we not know about this place sooner?" If you're visiting Niagara Falls, Canada, and you're looking for a clean, welcoming, friendly place for breakfast, do yourself a favor and look for this little hidden gem. What a great restaurant/cafe. Right across the street from the river, with a patio view that has a wonderful view of both sets of falls, it's a lovely place for a coffee or meal--especially breakfast or brunch. We had a lovely server who was anticipatory of our needs and patient while we took overly-long to order due to being distracted by the views. The food was good (but nothing special or Michelin-starred); but the overall vibe is tremendous, and not nearly as corporate or neon-lights as the rest of Niagara has become. Our large party enjoyed lunch on a sunny weekday. We dined outside and the atmosphere was lovely. There's a very large menu, with options for vegetarians. Our drinks were refilled often and service was excellent. I especially enjoyed the Nanaimo cheesecake for dessert. We walked across the Rainbow Bridge from the U.S. and had picky-eater teenagers with us. The views of the falls were peaceful although this place is bustling. We sat at two tables outside and the restaurant provided a peaceful break. We'll be back. read more

Came here for breakfast while visiting Niagara Falls. Ordered 2 omelettes and 2 coffees with a couple of upcharges and total came to $70 CAD. Food was just ok. Service was decent. View of the falls with indoor and outdoor seating. Nice gift shop attached. Also, parking on the street below cost $30 for 30 minutes or $60 for 2 hours. read more

We came for dinner one night at the suggestion of the hotel. After a long day, we appreciated how close it was. No, it's not the flashiest place; no, it's not the newest. But the waitress was nice, and the food wasn't too bad. We did sit inside because it was really warm when we were there. It was quiet; it was remote, and the burger was pretty good. It's a little tricky to get into/find, but it was just above some nice gardens with a nice view of the falls. read more

If you're looking for the perfect spot to unwind after a day of exploring Niagara Falls, The Secret Garden Restaurant is a must-visit. Situated right at the end of Rainbow Bridge on the Canadian side, this restaurant offers both indoor and outdoor seating, allowing you to enjoy your meal with a stunning view of the falls. I have ordered the Western sandwich- eggs, Black Forest ham, peppers and onions in a croissant. We waited quite some time for the food to arrive but our server was nice to let us know the orders were backed up. By the time the food has arrived, it was 30 mins after we placed the order. The sandwich was definitely not what I have imagined. Rather than scrambled eggs, slices of ham, peppers and inions, it turned out to be an omelet inside a croissant! I didn't oppose to it and thought it was quite smart of them to assembled the sandwich this way, but it would have been nice to put on the menu. After the Niagara Falls cruise and walking around a bit, we were very hungry. It was after 1 pm and we had not eaten all day. Secret Garden was recommended by our tour guide. Although it was touristy w/ a gift store attached, it was less so vs Hard Rock Cafe (didn't know they were still open), or Rainforest Cafe that are both in the main tourist area. I ordered a smoked turkey sandwich and upgraded my side to poutine. I also had a local beer. First of all, the sandwich was ok. The turkey didn't have a smokey flavor, and I thought the price was high. On the other hand, the poutine was awesome despite using grated cheese vs cheese curds. The fries remained crispy despite being covered in gravy. Lastly, the beer was a great way to wash it all down. Regarding the ambiance, this place is big w/ indoor & outdoor seating. We chose outdoor bc we needed to dry off a bit after the cruise. There are nice tables outside w/ umbrellas. Likewise, the service was friendly, albeit slow. Our waitress was nice, and attended to us well once she got to us. However, it took a while to get seated, get menus and get our food. Nonetheless, we weren't in a hurry bc we wanted to relax a bit after being on the go since 8 am. Secret Garden is a good place to grab a bite and relax during your time at Niagara Falls. Visited this supposed hidden gem on August 4, 2026 with my sister and two nieces. The garden and outside areas were lovely. However, I'm not sure if it was the pink carpet that threw me off, but since we were already there why not. The kids ordered the sphagetti and meatballs (3 meatballs with a large amount of sphagetti). My sister got the quesadilla's with a side salad. The side salad came with raw thickly sliced mushrooms (I'm not a professional salad reviewer but this was not it), the chicken in the quesadilla was cut large and overpowered with cheese which then made it soggy. I got the fish and chips, the chips were soggy and the fish which must have came out of a box was just a little over cooked, the coleslaw had black olives which was new to me. The sodas were flat, and for $4.99 each at least the sodas could have been bubbly. The staff were friendly and the service was quick. Unfortunately, we won't be visiting again. read more

This spot is perfect after a day of checking out the falls. Located at the end of Rainbow Bridge (on the Canadian side) there is plenty of both indoor and outdoor seating overlooking the falls. The kids had the "kids burger and fries" and I had a 20oz beer and the big salad. Huge portions, great atmosphere and friendly service. Everything we ate tasted fresh and delicious and was reasonably priced! Also had spectacular Canadian maple walnut ice cream scoops from the gift shop located next to the restaurant! First time visiting Canada and chose Secret Gardens for my first breakfast experience! Very beautiful scenery especially if you choose to eat outside. Very open and clear sight of the falls! The gardens itself is well kept and picturesque as well. The food is average diner-like food. I ordered the Canadian bacon and the flaky croissant. The croissant was larger than I expected! Very buttery and flaky for sure. The Canadian bacon was delicious! My dish came with a side of fruit as well. I ordered the Hang Ten smoothie as well (not pictured) but it was a little too sweet to my liking. I had to water it down a bit. We came with a group of 6 and waited only about 10-15 minutes so that was nice. It's within walking distance of the hotels, casino, and falls. Super great location. Prices are pretty average as well. Had a great family dinner there. Importantly, they have Coke products (not Pepsi like my hotel and Benihana) so I got my fix. Literally down the steps from our hotel, this made for an easy dinner spot on night. There was a large party in the dining room which made for a loud environment, but we had to laugh- actually laughed- when the dining room fell silent. I resisted the urge to look to see what had quieted the group, but I can only assume prayer- maybe? It resumed at a lower roar after. Service was fast and friendly. Food was average. I ordered the fettuccine alfredo and with grilled chicken and a side salad. The salad was great, chicken moist but the alfredo was just bland and lacking. John got the chicken parmesan which had a side of veggies and he finished his food. He said it was fine, nothing special- just fine. The staff in the adjacent store really made this a 4 star review, they were very friendly and made us laugh. Great staff. read more

Had breakfast at this secret gem. The service was very good, the staff is very courteous and welcoming. Coffee was topped off often and condiments were promptly brought to the table. The food was VERY good. The view of the fall is very nice. Give it a try, I will definitely visit this spot again. read more

Average... yet not. The staff were incredible and attentive. The menu is basic but they dont need anything fancy. By the time I was leaving brunch, the restaurant was already filling up for lunch. My scrambled eggs, potatoes and toast was good. In comparison to what other place are charging around the area I found this to be reasonable for a tourist area. I had a very relaxing brunch over looking the falls followed by walking through the gift shop and the garden. I personally didnt understand the mannequins around the place & inside the restaurant but it was different. read more

Across from the restaurant is a great viewing spot for Niagara Falls. Because the establishment is elevated, you don't even really need to cross the street. After all the junk food and overpriced burgers all over Niagara Falls, Canada, bumping into this cute unassuming patio restaurant was a breath of fresh air. For my Greek salad, the veggies were fresh and crispy and not overpriced! No offensive music (nice and quiet) and no screaming children! For the price, some of the options seemed reasonable, but not entirely worth it to be honest. Still a great spot to check out at the very least. read more

I'm not sure why this restaurant isn't rated higher. The food is good & decent. It's simple yes. But it tasted freshly made & cooked. The prices were decent too. I didn't think it was overpriced. I can get cheaper in Toronto but this restaurant is in a tourist area. We were seated outside on their patio though they have indoor seating too. Washrooms are inside the gift shop on the back wall. Washrooms were clean if a little dated. 80s style group washroom. The restaurant is really close to Bird Kingdom so that's partially why we came here. I'm glad we came here though. It's got a really nice view & the waitstaff are so nice. I had the torpedo shrimp with salad & hubby had the Greek salad. Then we had caramel chocolate cake for dessert. It was all good! Come if you are ok paying high prices for frozen chicken tenders, premade frozen low quality meatballs in the spaghetti with meatballs, poutine made with frozen fries and shredded generic cheese with jar gravy. Burger is clearly a frozen patty. Smoothie drink was good and the waiter we had was friendly. View is beautiful. That's about it for any positives. We only came here out of lack of decent options within walking distance of the Sheraton, which is where we were staying. Had revelations for The Flour Mill Scratch Restaurant. Unfortunately they canceled our brunch reservation due to a maintenance issue so we were left with a lack of good restaurants and ended up here. read more

Nice little spot for lunch. I had the bruschetta which was a Greek version but still tasty. I also had the BLT on croissant which I enjoyed. The service was friendly and fantastic and we had no wait getting a table (around 1pm). They have a gift shop where I was able to purchase a winter hat because I was freezing. When we were there for lunch I believe there was really only one other table in use so pretty much the dining hall was empty apart from the one other table and "dummies" or dolls that they have seated in other tables. Attached to a gift shop, the restaurant is definitely hurting for lack of traffic. Four of us dropped in for brunch and were the only customers on the patio. The patio has a beautiful view of the American Falls and it was Sunny enough for us to enjoy the umbrellas. The menu has enough breadth and depth to satisfy most diners. Actually it felt like a diner's menu. We ordered a variety of cocktails and food. The cocktails came quickly and the food was not far behind. The service was excellent with napkins, condiments etc. being brought out quickly. Reasonably priced too. Ordered the special a dry chicken breast slathered in Italian dressing with tomato soup they called gumbo. I guess it did have okra in it. There's not much good food in Niagara Falls, but there has to be better food than this. read more

Service was 4 stars but food 1 star. If you're looking for some good food options in Niagara Falls, you're out of luck. Zero good food here and this place is no exception! Went here for lunch and got the nachos and chicken quesadilla. It was barely edible, the chicken was clearly frozen and from a bag. They really need to step it up here. Nachos and quesadillas are pretty basic. Use fresh ingredients. I gave 2 stars since service was good and friendly. Sitting outside has an amazing view of the falls. I love the area and the patio dining here! So even though it was brisk outside, I ordered from a patio table. I ordered fish and chips, coleslaw and a peach smoothie. I enjoyed it all. Especially the fish and the smoothie. The furry little birds were so cute and unafraid to approach me even at my table, so that was funny; earned them a French fry! The service was friendly and relatively quick - I would like to come again. The only challenge I experienced was a nearby smoker outside ruining my dining experience - but even that - the staff took care of it. read more

So close to the falls you could feel the mist. This restaurant has all the charm of a country store and a great gift shop. I ordered soup and salad and the portions hit the spot. My waiter was so accommodating. I ordered a ginger ale and asked if he could add a bit of cherry syrup. This is not on the menu but he did it just for me. We also got a bit of history as he told us about an incident that happened in the 40's. (I won't give it away) Even though there are many restaurants to eat from in the area, this one should be on your list to visit. read more

Not sure how this place only has 3 stars. Found it on my trusty yelp app and it really is a secret spot! My family was the only ones here. Good service, ok food, clean, and a great view of the America Falls. I would love to come here in the summer and sit outside on the patio. There's metered parking right out front and you can easily walk to Clifton Hill from here. read more

I ended up here after a long drive from New Jersey with a six year old and a three year old. The food is mediocre, but the portions are plentiful and the service is great. The garden grounds it is on is also very nice. Price is affordable, unfortunately there were way too many bugs at the outdoor area. I would say if you need a quick bite to eat this might be your best bet. read more
