The sales people are more than happy to take your money, but when something goes wrong, don't expect anything more than horrible customer service. You'd expect that a company like this to be ready and willing to go beyond the call of duty to help rectify the situation. We had bought a washer and dryer from Baron's and the washer wasn't hooked up properly. When we woke up in the morning water had leaked all over our brand new hardwood floors and flooded our basement. We called Baron's and asked that they pay for the damage. They said it would be better if we called our insurance. Obviously it would be better for them! We told them no, because that goes against our claim history. After fighting with manager after manager after customer service rep, we finally got a call from an insurance agent. That was over a week ago. We've left messages and emails asking to call us back and haven't heard a thing. Baron's will not get away with this. Don't let the smiling and friendly sales people dope you into buying an appliance here. They're friendly when you're paying them, but if anything goes wrong, don't expect them to pay for it. The experience up until the sale and delivery was great. The sales person (Mike) was incredibly helpful and wasn't overbearing. Once we left the store and were contemplating which set to go with, he was incredibly responsive to emails with our questions. The buying experience was great. However, that's when it went down hill. I'll caveat this that this was the first time I've purchased appliances. When we finally decided on which set to go with and were ready to pay, we were asked if we wanted the appliances installed (yes) and were told it would be $850 to install the fridge (plug it in and hook up the water line, 10 minutes), microwave (mount it to the wall/cabinets, maybe 30 minutes), range (plug it in and hook up the gas, maybe 30 minutes, but you do need a licensed plumber) and dishwasher (actually quite time intensive, roughly an hour). I felt a bit sandbagged regarding this charge and told them I'd do it myself and hire my own plumber (the time above is what it took me to do myself). We received our appliances roughly a week later. Unfortunately, we had problems with each appliance. The range has a huge scratch on the oven door, the fridge had a scratch on both the freezer door and one of the refrigerator doors, the dishwasher's kick plate was bent almost 90 degrees and one of the bolt's that attach the microwave to the cabinets above was damaged and couldn't be used. Now, I realize this is more than likely GE's fault (we purchased the GE Cafe series) but Baron's was less than helpful with any of these problems. They will not allow you to exchange appliances that are cosmetically damaged (even though we spent more than $7k). We now have to wait 10 weeks to get the range and refrigerator/freezer doors replaced. It's been 3 weeks and I still don't have a replacement bolt for the microwave (I ended up purchasing a replacement bolt off Amazon yesterday) and haven't been able to use it. The kickplate on the dishwasher wasn't that big a deal because it's out of site and I'm just living with it. I don't know of any other business where you can spend so much money, only to have to wait 2+ months to get what you actually paid for. I contemplated returning the appliances but it just wasn't worth the hassle of uninstalling everything. I regret going here and can't imagine I'll ever come back. Luckily I don't think I'll be need any more appliances for at least 10 years. They do get +1 star, because the sales person honestly did his best to help me. Update: Its been 5 months and the refrigerator still isn't fixed. Reached out to the store owner who commented below and was ignored. I am not impressed. If you want friendly service this is not the place. If you want to be well informed as to the product you are buying, not the place. I bought a Samsung gas cooktop, not inexpensive to say the least. In Samsung's brochure, it says you can put the grills in the dishwasher which I truly needed because they are very heavy. I have had this product in use for 7 months and I can't get the grills cleaned. I called the Manchester store, got a snarly lady answering the phone, who transferred me to Concord. There I was told to use Bartenders Secret or some other abrasive cleaner. HE said he doesn't know why Samsung would say to put it in a dishwasher. I am deeply disappointed with my purchases from Barron's. This is the 3rd major purchase from them. The first two went reasonably well. On this purchase we bought floor models, which we had done in the past. When the appliances were delivered the delivery people dropped our high end Viking refrigerator on the way on. Unfortunately the moving strap broke. They proceeded to install the units anyways. The refrigerator and freezer are separate units. The door to the refrigerator would not close properly and we called to let them know. Not much in the response area. Then the freezer started to sound like a blender every time the fan turned on. It took about five complaints to get that fixed. The door to the refrigerator does close better but the whole unit is out of square and doesn't match up with the freezer. We we told they are not replacing it. I will NEVER buy anything from them again. read more

Purchased a brand new washer dryer and fridge from Barons about 6 months ago. Did not go lowest cost. Bought higher end Samsung appliances. About a week ago washing machine broke. They sent out their service tech. He said he will order the part it will take a week. Ok inconvenient but it is what it is. Shows up a week later and says he ordered the wrong part it will be another week?! I have two kids plus me and my wife. I'm looking at a mountain range of dirty laundry. So after calling basically the whole company directory because the Plaistow manger didn't want to return any of my messages ( way to manage buddy) they ended up emailing my wife saying they wilL over night the part and be here Monday? Why wouldn't you have just done that in the first place? I went Barons to avoid the BS I put up with at Home Depot and i like to shop local. Should of just paid less at the major chain. As someone in customer service who admittedly makes mistakes it happens, I was appalled at the way this company handles things. I'm fucking pissed off! My washer and dryer died, checked out possible new purchases on Lowe's, Home Depot etc. Settled on a GE washer and dryer from Home Depot. Thought I'd give my business to a local appliance store, thinking I'd get the same product. Ya, no they offered what I thought was the same washer and dryer. It was delivered and installed. I paid 1800 bucks for a washer and dryer that was a model lower than I could have purchased at Home Depot for 1700 bucks. Now I'm stuck with a washer and dryer that I will have for years. So I bought a refrigerator from this store and I will never do business with them again. They made me take delivery before my house was completed so it was about a month after delivery before I could plug it in. When I plugged it in it didn't work. I called the store and they connected me to service. Took service 3 hours to call me back. Then the told me it would be over a week before anyone could come out and look at it. OVER A WEEK WITH NO FRIG! I asked them to take it back the store said sorry you've had it more than 7 days so its out of our hands. "Its in the fine print". A brand new refrigerator that didn't work right out the gate and I have to wait until service can fit me in! WTF kind of appliance store is this. Also bought a dishwasher and there was no kick panel included. Still waiting to hear if I'll get that piece. Probably not. DO NOT SHOP HERE, customer satisfaction is not important to them. Various models and newer options had us a bit confused. A friend told us about Barons and his experience there, so we decided to check it out. Our friend was spot on. We were greeted by Alex. Mike Loiselle was the first to greet me with a big smile! Very nice compared to all the other "big box" stores where it is very hard to get someone to help you. He was very informative about the different grills and helped me pick one out that suited my needs... which was for a big family cookout I was having the Fourth of July weekend. Dealing with the sales staff and making the purchase of the new stove went well. We had to wait longer than expected to get the stove due to the crazy covid times we live in, but that's to be expected with everything in flux. The issue we had was with the delivery of the stove. The two delivery guys showed up to my house this morning. I went out to the mud room to find one of them let himself into my house without knocking or ringing the doorbell. Without even looking at me, he says one word, "STOVE", and tried to walk past me. I blocked his path and told him to follow me. We got into the kitchen and he set a clip board down on the counter. Again, without looking at me, he said " Sign here". Then he asked if they're supposed to remove the old stove. I said yes. His partner comes inside and the two carry out the old stove. They come back into the house with the new stove and set it down. At this point I've tried to make small talk and of course ask some questions about where the accessories to the new stove are. He completely ignores everything I said to him. Never looked at me, never answered anything. This guy pretended like I wasn't even there and acted like he was irritated to be here. It was unbelievable how over the top miserable this guy was. Finally, in disgust, I walk around the new stove to make sure there wasn't any damage and verify that it had been converted to propane as I had ordered it. I said out loud, more to myself than him, " This was converted to propane, right?" as I looked for the conversion tag. To this he replied, in perfect English, "I don't speak any English" with out looking at me. Despite having spoken perfect English to me when he needed to. I was shocked at how miserable and rude this guy was. I had cash set aside on the counter to give them as a tip. Needless to say, they didn't get it. As the van drove away, I saw the Massachusetts license plate. Which made me realize that Barons must be hiring out of state delivery services. Then I saw all the styrofoam in the driveway they left me to clean up. The last thing I found was when I left for work, I noticed that they had driven the delivery truck out into my lawn at the bottom of my driveway. Not a little. They drove way off the pavement onto the lawn while turning the tires and leaving me with torn up ruts. The worst thing about this is that the terrible out of state delivery company that Sears had used was the reason I started shopping at Barons to begin with over 10 years ago. Now it seems Barons is using the same type of service. I had no problem paying a little extra to shop at Barons when deliveries and service was done from in house people. The sales people are knowledgable but can't help but feel like you have been sales slimed when you walk out of the store. All the bad sales cliches apply here and it is unfortunate because they have a good selection and okay pricing. My major issue is with the service department which we used close to a dozen times in the last 12 years since we purchased all of our applianced at Barons when we built our new home. The service operators are almost always rude and crabby but that is not a big deal. The big deal is the big and lazy repair person who does a lot of complaining about not being able to fix appliances and always for some fantastic reason that makes little to no sense. Twice now I have fixed appliances after he told me it could not be done. Once a on a BOSH dryer and now a wall oven which he basically shrugged his shoulders and said we need to buy a new one after 10-12 years of using this high end unit. Aside from the poor attitude (always), the appointment times are inconsistent and he will not confirm unit the morning of the appointment. When he shows up the guy acts like you inconvenienced him. He works slow and it seems he mils every dime from the customer. So between the slippery sales people that will flat out tell you anything you want to hear and the shoddy service I would recommend the home Depot or Loews. At least this way you don't come to expect good service you just might be surprised. read more

I have purchased many appliances from Barron's; the prices are typical..nothing special. However, their service dept is awful. When you call for an apt, it is always 2 weeks out and they don't give you a time till the day before. Very inconvenient for those of us who have to work for a living. My appt was for today and I never even got a call telling me the time . I called this AM and they said they left me a VM as to the time...right. I checked, no VM and even checked the call log and no call either. I would not recommend this store for this reason (again their prices are just average). If you do buy from them get your extended warrantee from square trade (on line). I have had great luck with square trade. read more

Hi, I visited Baron's in Plaistow on Friday afternoon after work "just to look." I spoke to Tim and told him that I had no idea what I wanted, this was my first time out, but needed a washer, stove and dishwasher. He took time to ask about my needs and sizes, and directed me to good quality, great holiday weekend prices, and was very knowledgeable and took all the time I needed with questions. I ended up buying all three! Checked off my list!! I feel comfortable that I received good pricing, and I usually shop around until I drive myself crazy. Tim was great, absolutely no sales pressure, and they are being delivered next week, installing and removing, free delivery, etc. I don't expect any surprises and would recommend them to anyone!! Baron's has grown enough now to act as bad as the "big box" operations they claim to be better than. I have bought many appliances from Baron's over the years, but my last purchase will be just that my last; the delivery time promised was missed by DAYS, not hours. When they did manage to deliver the washer/dryer - the floor model dryer was delivered without having been cleaned up - as the salesman promised - from its time spent on display. Then they simply ignored my emails and even manage to ignore social media commentary. There is no longer any distinction in doing business with these guys - THEY DO NOT CARE ABOUT YOUR EXPERIENCE - save yourself the trouble and go elsewhere. read more

I bought a new Maytag washer in Plaistow. It was not the original one I went in to buy but the salesperson recommended it and assured me it was a good washer. The delivery persons were very nice and told me they ran a test on the washer before they left. I went to do my first load and the water had not been turned back on. How did they run a test without water? I just called because I am having trouble water building up on the gasket where the door opens. I have to put towels on the floor and wipe the whole gasket before I take the clothes out or they will get wet again. I checked if the washer was level and it is. I was told that I would have to pay for the service call! The washer has been in my house less than 2 months. The service person I spoke with on the phone was so condescending, treated me like I didn't know what I was talking about. Additionally the detergent dispenser is not working correctly. She indicated that was my fault too. Next stop the Better Business web site. read more

I used the self clean feature and the entire oven stopped working. Repair came and had to take the circuit board apart and order a part which I was told would take a week to arrive. So I have no oven for a week and went to Baron's to talk to the sales people about it. They were not the least bit helpful or even sympathetic. Basically, they just said "oh well, that's why you buy the extended warrenty"! Come on! We have purchased stovetops, ovens, dishwashers, etc. over the years and THAT'S the response. Ad on the homepage says why shop a big box store, "Baron's has better quality, service, and a guaranteed low price!" This simply is not true and is false advertising. I shopped a Independence Day holiday sale for four appliances that all big box stores are currently offering at major sale prices. Called up Baron's as they work with my builder and they looked into pricing. The estimate they sent me was nearly $600 over Home Depot's pricing, and I proved that to them. Their fine print (contrary to the "guaranteed lowest price" says they can chose it to honor price matching. Ok fine, I called back and asked if we could meet in the middle so I could give them business and they are partnered with my builder. The sales rep said that would be great but he had to speak to a manager for approval and get back to me. All of this was on June 24th/25th. Fast forward to today, July 3rd, I have called the sales rep multiple time and left a message, I've called the store who said they would talk to the rep and the manager, and I've been in contact with customer service 2-3 times now. Each time they say they will coordinate with the sales rep and a manager, but nobody ever calls me back. This company clearly does not want my business as I have been very patient and was willing to pay a higher price to give them business if they met me in the middle somewhere. It was as simple as actually getting approval from a manager and calling me back. Even if they said no, we cannot match that price, at the very least returning a phone call and telling me that would have prevented this aweful review. I will say my sales rep was very pleasant and friendly, the issue is failure to honor the lowest price and refusal to call back and let me know one or another what they could do. We bought 3 appliances and got "discounts" that made the prices comparable or a little better than other stores. The sales person ( who I have since found out is the store manager, Rob Madonna) was very helpful and personable. There were also mail-in rebates and a financing rebate with the purchase. Rob said he would email them to me. After a week, no email. No return call after 2 calls. Another 5 days go by and then Rob calls and said he was away and didn't get his messages from me?? I explained that it isn't good business that the office didn't tell me he was not there. He immediately emailed the rebates. The delivery was on time and done very carefully by friendly delivery guys. The only reason for the 4 stars is the mis-communication on their part. Would go back and recommend to others read more

I purchase All new appliances 5 months ago within a week after the purchase I complained on the oven fluctuating and not holding temperature The repairman and came out and stated that is how one ovens works I ended up making videos, recording conversations and sent them to the main office in Concord never got a response after months I called the manufacturer who came right out and found it to be a defective stove after negative postings I did get a reply back and they offered me an equal trade. With a request to post on how they fixed my situation. I wrote another email last week on how horrific this whole experience was but once again no response. Not only did this cause undo stress for months but I found and proved the sales do not their products. This is the last time my family's will buy from them. WORST COMPANY EVER!!! I made the mistake of purchasing 3 appliances here and it has been a complete nightmare. The fridge was defective and I lost almost $300 in groceries. When I contacted Baron's they not only took 8 days to get a service tech out, but they refused to reimburse me for my food loss and said "things like this can sometimes happen." Next came the washer and dryer-they delivered my washer/dryer on a Thursday morning. The following morning, I woke up to my first floor and basement being flooded. My brand new maple hardwood floors are completely damaged and need to be replaced and again Baron's does not want to be held accountable and are doing nothing to rectify the situation. I got an estimate done for the damage, forwarded it to Baron's, and they have all gone completely MIA. I have called & e-mailed begging for help and nobody will return my calls. The managers at the Plaistow location-Rob Madonna, Scott Smalley and Scott Mooers have been extremely disrespectful, condescending and rude, and the owners refuse to get back to me. If you are thinking about purchasing here, definitely reconsider. I am out thousands of dollars of damage to my home and this company that claims to have "better quality and better service" should warn people that they are cruel thieves. When the Washer and dryer came, they forgot the pedastals I purchased at the same time, then told my husband to go pick them up (as if he could pick up the heavy washer by himself and put them on, isn't that the reason for delivery?!?!?). Now having trouble with the dishwasher and can't get a return call from the salesman? Don't buy here. Now the rest of the story! We were remolding our kitchen and my wife decided to replace the refrigerator, dish washer and stove. Our first stop was the concord store. We felt that the sales man was not treating us right and could not answer our questions. We lefrt and decided to try the Plaistow and we purchased a Samsung refrigerator double door, a Samsung dish washer and a Verona LP stove. Total cost of $5200. The day of the delivery we received the refrig and the dish washer. The white handles on the refrig were missing and on the top of this unit there was a large condenser unit on the top that was going to change the cabinet size. Never say any refrigerator with this on the top. Mentioned it to the store and was told "that is what the must have done to that model". Well we are stuck with it now and the cabinet size had to be changed. The stove was not delivered as expected "that is on back order and should be in next week". Disappointing but that is the way it went down. The stove was delivered a week and a half later and it looked stunning. That did not last long. Hooked up the gas and wanted to give it a run. Tried the top burners and all seemed good. Ran the oven for 2 hrs as told in the manual. To start this stove you must open the oven door to start it. They say it is a safety feature. I'm not buying that. Felt the sides of the stove and they were HOT! this is a slide in zero clearance stove. Turned off oven and 1 hr later could not start it again. Had the service guy come out and he said this stove is not safe to use. This is a $3400 stove. It took 2 weeks and a lot of calling for Barons to have the stove picked up and 4 days more to get our credit. We wanted to work with Barons and decided to purchase a DCS 36" stove for a cost of $5499 and comes with a double drawer dish washer, a $1399 value, free. We went to the Manchester store and told the salesman to write it up. He then tells us that we have to buy a refrigerator also in order to get the dishwasher promotion. I had enough and told the salesman we were leaving. The store manger and partner Brian Ellis was sitting in his office and heard the entire conversation and never came out to sort out this mess. That day I traveled to State Street Discount and Appliance Warehouse to buy a stove. Both stores confirmed that the DCS dish washer comes with the 36" stove or a $500 credit. Barons did not know this. Purchased the stove at State Street Discount and it is in and working excellent. Working with Barons was a real challenge. Talking with the sales force and mangers proved that these people do not have the customers best interest as a priority. Never, Never, Never again will I step into a Barons store for anything. read more
