Buyer Beware! You would think this smaller company would value their RETURNING customers... I ordered, and had delivered a LG Gas Range. This item was delivered to my house damaged this morning. The delivery guys (sub contractors, and very helpful) stated the LG range was placed on the delivery truck this morning in damaged condition. The damage did not occur during delivery. There was a significantly large dent in the side of the range, causing the bottom of the panel to bow outwards. The sales associate (Larry) told us the best he could do was send someone out to fix it, or maybe $175 off the item. I just spent $2,600 on a brand new LG Gas Range... I did not pay for a "newly broken" range. I asked to be compensated at $500 off. I initially spoke with David, the warehouse manager where the range originated from, he even stated "what you are asking for is reasonable." Larry however, thought otherwise. Every conversation with Larry, before delivery seem to feel like we were inconveniencing him. So conversations with this salesman were now even less enthusiastic than before. While attempting to negotiate an appropriate resolution, Larry told us that if we sent it back to the warehouse, he in fact would not be selling this damaged LG Gas Range at a lower "as is" "open box/damage" price. But that he would be ordering a new side panel for the range and SELL AS NEW AT THE SAME PRICE!! That is a red flag, and completely dishonest. At this time, we terminated the sale and had our money refunded. We bought the same LG range about 20 minutes later from a competitor of Barons. This all being said, we are repeat customers. We purchased an entire kitchen worth of appliances for a home we owned before. We came back to do the same. We needed a gas range immediately, and a new fridge in the very near future as ours just died the other night. We will no longer be customers of Barons Appliances, and I'd caution anyone else to be weary as well. read more

I have purchased 3 washer/dryer sets and all 3 sets have failed and/or cost me double the original price in repairs over the past 15 years. Stay clear of Fisher/Paykel brands of New Zealand. After one year the electronics in the washer failed costing an additional 450.00 to repair and now (2years) the electronics on the dryer failed and I was told the repair may cost more than 500.00 read more

We purchased an entire new set of kitchen appliances for our new kitchen remodel. The prices were basically the same as most other stores, but the process of simply getting a new set of appliances from Baron's was the most difficult and costly part of my entire project. I recommend you go anywhere else if you value good service and expect some basic respect. The fridge was delayed by over two months which caused many problems with my project scheduling. I understand that this may not be totally their fault, but to sell a fridge with no solid understanding of when it will be fulfilled, is irresponsible. The stovetop was delivered with a defective burner. The replacement was damaged coming out of the box. More delays. The next stove top (two weeks later) was also damaged in the same way, as were the next 2 Fisher- Paykel stove tops over the following month. They never took the initiative to check their stock or investigate how to fix my ongoing and desperate situation. I was promised some compensation for the delays, reordering, forgotten delivery dates and other problems I was forced to deal with, however when it came time to true up my account, the manager said I was a owed a difference of $9 and some change, so he slapped a $10 bill on the counter and said "here you go". The look on the face of my sales rep was nothing less than shock. I was so tired of dealing with them I just left the $10 on the counter and left the store never to return. read more

Be extremely weary before you buy an AC unit from Barons. They sold us two used AC units in the winter, we went to use them in the summer, they didn't work. They did absolutely NOTHING to help us with either unit. We paid $1,500 for two brand new ACs. They sent us to GE to get them repaired, it was an absolute nightmare. GE in the end couldn't repair and they too refuse to pick them up, they told me i'd be refunded and it's been 3 weeks and still no refund and a different story every time i call the service line. They too said Barons should refund me and give me new units. We have called literally 50 times, we've spoken to managers, repair managers and have asked to speak with regional managers at Barons, NOT ONE RESPONSE, "oh we'll call you back". It's absolutely disgusting. We even recently spent over $60,000 on appliances from them for apartments, you would think they'd have the audacity and customer service mindset to replace the two brand new ac units that they sold to us broken. Disgusted is an understatement. And especially do not do business with the sales rep Hunter - he comes off so nice but in reality is a crook - but who could blame him when his manager and managers manager don't care either. This is fraud and theft. I have reported them to local authorities, fraud lines, channel 7 news and the attorney generals office. They'll get what they deserve soon enough. *That is 100% not what happened. Hunter continuously told me to call GE! He wanted nothing to do with the entire situation. I got the same answer over and over again, call GE we can't do anything about it. No one at Barons cared, We'll call you back" with NO phone call back. I have been in communication with GE and GE only about a return and they too have been a nightmare. This has been going on SINCE MAY, THREE MONTHS OF THE SAME BS over BRAND NEW ACS. The only reason GE approved a return was because of the GE technician who came out THREE times, NOT YOU GUYS. If you guys cared at all you would have replaced both broken AC units that you sold to us. GE had on file that the units were bought in February of 2019, but I didn't buy them until September if 2019! you sold them to us either used or broken! read more

Like others, I like to buy local and avoid the big box stores. My sales rep was very knowledgeable and I got a fair price and felt like I made the right decision. The refrig and stove I bought showed up as promised and the delivery guys did a great job BUT as they were leaving I noticed a ding in the refrig door. They logged a service call and the manager said they'd order a replacement door. Since then, I had a gas line installed and was about to have my gas stove installed but the plumber noticed the back of the unit had bent and missing screws and there were scuffs on the back panel. It was clearlly not a brand new unit. When I called service they said someone from sales would have to get back to me. Nobody called. I called sales and they had no record. They said they would order replacement parts to which I said NO! I'm not paying top dollar to have a brand new stove repaired! Still have not heard anything back and after a month of delivery have a dinged refrigerator and a damaged stove.Home Depot, Lowes and Best Buy replace units no questions asked. read more

I will never EVER buy anything here again. The salesman who talked to us knew nothing about the stove and its requirements -- "It's a slide in replacement" he said. Not so. In the first place, he sent an installer who was not licensed in Mass to work with gas stoves, despite the fact that he KNEW we were in Massachusetts. Dumb. When the next installer came 1 week later, the stove did not have enough clearance in the back to accept the gas pipe, and our salesman insisted that was MY problem because I didn't know my own house. And no, he never asked us how much clearance we had, or what clearance was required by that stove, but he seemed to think it was my responsibility to know to ask that. Finally, the stove top was damaged in delivery and requires replacement. The installer did a GREAT job, but the Baron's salesman was a pathetic, incompetent and arrogant fool. I prefer to shop small business when I can, but in this case don't! We bought a washing machine from them about 11 months ago. In the past 11 months we still have had to use a laundromat for about 3 months total. The current time without a functioning washing machine is almost 6 weeks. Their service is horrendous. In store service was deplorable. Had issues from 25 years ago. We now no to go to appliance corner in Lawrence. Not only are they careful with delivery, but they set up, cleaned up, and stayed to explain how everything worked and to make sure that thr fridge got cold. And they have their own service team. If anything goes wrong, you call them, not the manufacturer. They were great. read more

Good selection and price but the service is the worst I've experienced tried to complain about installers and fact that they charged us recycle fee for old washer but they didn't remove. Salesman said that is a delivery complaint sorry. This wasn't the first we have bought way too many appliances from them and service has always been crappy. Try State Street instead. read more

I purchased a frigidaire gallery refrigerator from Baron's and the two doors were uneven. I called to have them come out and fix the uneven doors but they would not do so under warranty because 30 days had passed. 2 stars only for good prices every now and then. Questionable quality control and horrible customer service. Our "brand new" refrigerator died after only 3 days of use. It took a full day for someone to come out only to tell us "yeah, it doesn't work". Then another 2 days before someone actually placed the order on the replacement refrigerator, with no apologies or effort to make things right. It has been over a month with no follow up on the status of when we can expect to receive the replacement fridge. We've reached out multiple times and each time seem to be an annoyance to the sales rep. Since they already have our money, we clearly are lowest priority. We asked for a full refund as we are no longer willing to give them our business due to the horrible customer service, and the soonest they told us they can come pick up the fridge and issue a refund was 11 days from now!!! Then, when we get clearly enraged by this and express how much of an inconvenience it is that we've been without a fridge for so long (during a pandemic, where we'd prefer not to go to the grocery store every day...) they say "oh actually we can come in one week"... still not good enough and now they can magically come in 4 days... Interesting, seems like they could have done that all along, but wait until the customer is clearly unto give mediocre-at-best service... Horrible, HORRIBLE customer service. Why didn't they schedule the pick up a month ago to get this junk out of my house?! You are better off paying a little more and going to Lowe's, Home Depot, literally anywhere else..... UPDATE to 1 star: WOW just WOW! Horrible customer service and to top it off they will try and steal from you after they sell you broken products and leave you with no resolution for weeks. Baron's picked up our fridge yesterday. We emailed today to get a receipt/status on the refund and they said we would need to call the store to get our money back... Insane that they have already taken the product but are happy to keep our money unless we ask for it. But wait it gets worse... we call and ask for a refund and they try to not refund us for the full amount!!! The same man who provided the *astounding* customer service is now telling me that we paid $20 less than we did. Then I say "looks like you're trying to charge me for the power cord that you also took yesterday....". Interesting how the original receipt included the $20 in the overall refrigerator price, but now when we want a refund there is a new order form that breaks out the cost. THIEFS! One of the worst business in the world to do business with. Repair service is the worst I have ever dealt with. All are not trained and have no clue how to properly repair an item that was purchased under full warrantee. They guess at what the problem is and to not diagnose at all. Time frame to get an item under warrantee fixed is unbelievable slow and unreliable. Took me over a month to get a appliance looked at and than not fixed properly. When not serviced properly I charged back the sale cause I had it with the company and the sales man called me back to say I cant do that and when I tried to explain the matter to him was hung up on rudely and very unprofessionable. I still have the defective item still not fixed or repaired and the company refuses to fix the item or replace it until I reverse the charges after totally unreliable service and scheduling of the item to be fixed. Management shield themselves as they have no direct email to contact to talk to as they hide. Also one of my appliances the dishwasher had to be delivered on three seperate occassions due to the item being damaged upon delivery the company does not check product prior to delivery. This delayed the completion of my kitchen by three weeks. They are the worst they should be prosecuted by the state attorney general (AS I HAVE ALSO FILED A COMPLAINT AND WITH THE BETTER BUSINESS BUREAU) for fraud business practices. Buyer beware do not do business with them as they are totally unreliable and do not service their product under warrantee accordingly. They are nothing but used car sellers or so called tin me. Went into the store in Salem to purchase some new appliances on a very quiet mid week morning. When I walked in all the Sales staff were behind the desk. Two of them were talking to a man standing at the counter who they obviously knew and the rest of them were on their computers. Not one person greeted me from the time I walked in the door and up to the counter. I stood there as if I were invisible for over 5 minutes and still was not acknowledged. I was ready to leave when finally one of the men asked me if I needed help. He was less than helpful and didn't even want to get up and walk over to the display with me. Over the years, I have outfitted two complete kitchens and laundry rooms from this store. I will never shop there again and I will never recommend them to anyone. The delivery people were very rough with my washer and dryer upon delivery and when they turned it on it would work and told us the plug was dead. After an electrician came in and told us the plug was fine I called back and they said they don't service my area to get it fixed!!! I had to call the company directly and now have to wait ANOTHER week to not have a dryer for my clothes. A pain in the neck for something that happened during delivery. read more

I had a very positive experience buying a dishwasher from Baron's. The first model I bought was actually too wide for my space, which was my fault for not measuring it. The delivery / install guys were very pleasant and professional about it. Jeff (my sales rep) was also great and worked with me to get the right model delivered. He even gave me a lower price than advertised on their website. I also wasn't charged for a 2nd delivery, only a couple days later, which was nice. Wish I could have given no stars @ all. I bought a washer & dryer; the washer is defective. I have had it repaired twice. I have same problem again - one which the repairman agreed would happen again. Went to Salem store for help. The man who "helped" me did not get up from his chair, told me to call repairman again. I explained. Asked him to call repairs. He argued, and finally did - but was told to call warranty people. He behaved very satisfied that I would need to call warranty. I asked him to help with that. Absolutely would not. Was rude and clipped. Very much so. So I went outside, called warranty # and was told I could not complete call because I did not have a service power account #. I went inside and relayed that. He told me I was nothing but trouble. Please consider this before buying from Baron's. I now have gone to Best Buy and bought a new washer - although I am out the money I spent @ Baron's. So SO disappointed in a local business. read more

Beware of their Customer Service, Repair Service & Sales !!! I purchased all new appliance 5 months ago in the 1st week the repair service came out on the stove that fluctuates 60 degrees & can't hold temp. I was told by the serviceman that is how a oven works. Made videos sent them to repair department & customer sevice along with recorded conversations belittling me. Called manufacture who found it was defective. After negative postings Customer Service contact me for for a equal trade. I wrote another email to Concord last week on my horrific experience and asked for a apology. Once again no response. I also found the sales do not know the products they sell. One example is I purchased a dishwasher also that has a bad odor coming from it. I was told he had the same one & never smelt any or odor. Was told to shop at Baron's because they are not a big box store and they treat you well. Not so much. Nothing but aggravation with a gas range that was delivered defective. Gas company refused to hook it up due to a leaky burner. Getting an exchange from Baron's was difficult. Going to cost about $200 to have Irving back to attempt to hook it up again. Do not believe them when they give you a delivery date. They told me the refrigerator was on back order on 9-24-18. said it was coming in 10-4-2018 would be delivered 10-12-18. I got my range on 10-12-18 but the refrigerator was still on backorder and did not come in. They then said october 25th and delivery on October 26th. Got a call today that said they refrigerator is now not coming in until 10-30 and wont be delivered until 11-1 meanwhile I have paid for this and they keep pushing the delivery out. This was not a special order it was a stock refrigerator that they said they have 40+ of coming in. I am about ready to call and cancel and get something else. Do not buy anything that Is not in stock unless toy like waiting indefinitely for delivery. read more

Beware of buying a refrigerator with an ice maker from Baron's in Salem, NH. In May of this year Baron's sent their plumber to install the water line for an ice maker on a refrigerator we purchased from them in April. Four months later we noticed the hook up was leaking in our cellar. We called Baron's and were told it is not their problem as their guarantee only lasts for 25 days! I had a local plumber fix it and learned that the device Baron's used (Self Piercing Saddle Valve) is prohibited per the Massachusetts Plumbing Code. We went back to Baron's to state our discontent and to show them the illegal saddle valve device. The manager was not there but we talked with a salesman who was able to verify on line the the device was illegal in Massachusetts. The next day we talked with the manager by phone who repeated again the their warranty only lasts for 25 days. Do not buy from this store! read more

This place is a bait and switch kind of operation. They sell and say they are one thing and come up empty with delivering a quality service. The repair division is inept and extremely adversarial. It takes weeks to get a service person out to look at your appliance and then if they have no idea what the problem really is they diagnose something else and you are left with a still broken appliance now doing more damage to your kitchen floor! They are very quick to add fees and charges but don't have the affiliation of the major brand with which they claim to do the service. While the repair tech was polite and kind I find the lack of ability to diagnose the true problem to be unacceptable. I'm told the owners don't talk with customers so anyone can see that they neither value their customers or desire to deliver a quality product. Avoid this place! read more

My husband and I went to Barons to buy a refrigerator. We chose one that was a Presidents Day sale. After conversing with the salesman, we agreed on a delivery. We wanted to purchase a washer/dryer set also, but after being told that he also owned the set on the floor, we thought it sounded great. We were told it was a great product and would be a great buy because it was returned from a prior customer because it didnt fit in their prospected spot. It had a few dings and scratches, but nothing I couldnt live with. It was discounted $320 because of the return. My husband thought it better to buy the new set so there would be no issues. I thought about the savings. We agreed on the returned floor model and thats when the salesman changed his tune. He said he now woudnt feel comfortable selling it to us because the transport bolts that are used to move the machines werent present. I said, "well you move these all the time," "you dont have any bolts to secure the tubs in the store anywhere?" "Does this mean you cant sell it to anyone?" Because if you have no bolts, you're telling me you cant move it, therefore it will have to sit forever? Thats when I knew I didnt want to buy from them. I was in a dilemma with no refrigerator and had to buy that night, so I did. Big mistake. They delivered on Saturday. They came in, plugged it in, and asked for plyers so they could level it. You deliver knowing you have to do this and dont bring them with you? They left all of the sticky tape on which could only be removed with goo gone and took the old one out. They left all of what they dropped on the front stairs and went on their way. Needless to say, it is still plugged in 2 days later and never got cold. We read the paperwork on setting the temperature to the recommended temp and waited . Nothing. We called and Larry said it must be a "dead on arrival" refrigerator. Now we have all of our food in coolers on the deck. We contact them again, leave a message, and wait. They couldnt of cared less. They're attitude was, okay, It happens. The night we were buying, it was all, "our guys", "our guys". But then my husband says, "they didnt clean up or stay to even see if it worked" and he was told, "they just deliver." My husband went to Barons the next morning the minute they opened their doors. He told them to come and get it. Should have learned the first time when we purchased a mattress and they loaded it on our pickup with the wrapping on it clearly stating the mattress we chose but guess what? wrong mattress after getting it all the way to our house. Mistakes happen, but when your attitude is nothing like it was when we were "buying", thats a game changer. Buyer beware! Their customer service is terrible. Read the reviews people! Ok, so I needed a refrigerator for our lake house. It's 100 miles away so measuring, selecting the right appliance and delivery would all be a challenge. I called the Baron's store in Laconia and spoke to Eli. He was very helpful and very knowledgeable. My measurements were pretty restrictive so I only had a limited selection of refrigerators. He took all the info, did some research on which refrigerators fit my needs and my restricted space and called me back with some great choices. I'm so glad I didn't go to Home Depot because the personal service was great at Baron's. The refrigerator was delivered yesterday and it was the perfect choice. Overall I would say that Baron's gave us the service and selection that we needed to make our appliance purchase terrific. read more

As you can see from my past reviews, I was quite unhappy waiting six weeks to repair a washer only 15 months old. Finally, the washer was replaced after parts being broken or not arriving. Yes, I am pleased to get a new washer; however, it should have happened four weeks earlier. Hoping this won't happen again--to me or others. Check out the warrantee company before buying.
