DON'T go to "Dr" Barotz!!! He will claim to be better than other dentists while taking your money using an "x-ray machine" you step into IN HIS OFFICE to make you think you don't need what the other dentists say you do. He will ABSOLUTELY risk your life without thinking twice about it!!! FIRST OF ALL......Just a heads up..... he will arrange for you to talk to his "credit person" right off the bat! She is very charming and works from home. DON'T DO IT!!!! My experience was bad enough, but he took advantage of my mom. He promised her he would take care of her teeth when other dentists said that they could not help her with her tooth loss due to illness. She was on the LUNG TRANSPLANT list, and he continued to clean and work on her teeth. NO OTHER DENTIST would do that because of the RISK of infection!! But she believed him and his promises, as any of us would. When she called him and told him she had tooth fragments coming out of her gums, he had her come in and then said he couldn't feel it and dismissed her. She had actual bone coming out of her gums that were VERY PAINFUL!! My mom would bake and bring cookies in for their whole office, and they STILL TOOK ADVATAGE OF HER!!!! Before we realized what he was doing to my mom, I also went to "Dr" Barotz who promised me he could do what no other dentist could. I had one dentist tell me I needed to have my older implant removed and replaced after it broke, because they use different and newer implants. But "Dr" Barotz said that wasn't necessary after his $500.00 x-ray (you step into) and that he could replace it "no problem". It did not last 6 weeks. I had another implant done at the same time. But after several months, I contacted him telling him it was too big, and I kept biting my tongue when I tried to talk. He had me come in for a consultation and his response was that my Tonge would "adjust" to it. The implant broke and fell off about a year later. IT WAS NOT MADE FOR MY MOUTH!!!! I can't believe I just had another Dentist ask me who did the veneers on my front 4 teeth and whether they were done at completely different times. They can't believe that I went to a reputable dentist to have them all done at the same time because they are such different colors and stick out from each other in such an odd way. In 2022, I took advantage of a TV offer for a free consultation with Barotz Dental. At my appointment, Dr. Barotz advised numerous crowns should be replaced and others added. Several existing crowns had been fitted by a dentist north of the metro area, and then manufactured away from the dentist's office. I wore temporary crowns for several weeks, and then returned to the dental office for the final fitting. Those crowns lasted THIRTY-FIVE (35) years. After a pressure sales pitch by the finance manager, I deducted $21,000. from my meager 401K account. The additional and replacement crowns which an associate (not a DDS) of Dr. Barotz 'manufactured' in the Barotz office did not last THREE (3) years. The crowns were not made by Dr. Barotz nor were they sent out for precision manufacturing. As mentioned in previous posts, for a 5-year warranty to remain in place, all cleanings must occur at Barotz Dental. Their charge for cleaning is higher than other dental practices and Barotz does not file insurance claims. I am certain this cleaning requirement enables the office to keep an eye on compromises in their work. I do not recommend this dental practice. read more

Dr Barotz is state of the art. He is so progressive in his learning and implements what he learns to the benefit of us all. I don't say this lightly, what two other dentist said they could not do for me. Dr Barotz did successfully in one day. I had a quote from "MY" dentist after insurance of 17,000.00 after I was in full bases for a year, we won't speak of that cost? This guy only wants your money. He got mine. I now have teeth that are all different colors. After one of the four teeth fell off three times, causing me to take a multitude of days off work, Dr. Barotz finally paid someone ELSE that knows how to do things to attach a legit wrap-around veneer. I was so relieved to have that tooth look normal and not fall off. Great, so that tooth looks good but the other three front teeth don't match each other and I feel like an ogre. This took months of my time and missing a tooth while dealing with others in business and being thoroughly embarrassed. I got to pay to make my original smile worse... woohoo! In my almost 70 years of life, I have never had a dentist do a comprehensive examination of my teeth and mouth like Dr. Barotz. He explained in great detail his findings and gave recommendations on what type of dental work would best suit my needs. He left it up to me to make a decision on those recommendations he made. Biggest mistake I ever made coming to Barotz Dental. There's a good reason half the reviews are 1 star. Had thousands of dollars of overpriced dental work done and it wasn't until after the fact that I was told the work was warrantied for 5 years contingent on getting all future cleanings done at their office for the next 5 years... pretty shiesty way of drumming up business. It's good I maintained that "warranty", because the work failed at least 5 times before getting it right. Since becoming a patient, it's been one issue after another. Most recently, I came in to get my bite adjusted on a filling they did poorly. Dr. Barotz did the bite adjustment himself, and the next day the tooth he made the adjustment on broke. My actual tooth. Broke. After 32 years of not breaking, it breaks 1 day after Barotz adjusts the bite for it. I went in for an emergency to have it taken care of and Dr. Barotz refused to fix the tooth and denied any responsibility for ruining my tooth. His vein was popping because I said it was obviously a result of the adjustment he made the day before and told him he needed to take care of the issue he caused. He told me he was going to call security and was not going to fix the serious damage he caused. Incredibly unprofessional and psychotic (you should have seen him, he could barely control himself). Also, he is rude in general and treats his staff terribly. Don't make the same mistake I did. read more

My experience at the office itself was good--the dentist was thorough and I liked the hygienist as well. HOWEVER. Before my appointment, I was assured over the phone that I needed to pay up front but that my insurance would repay all of it. I'm not an insurance expert, and believed that. They repeatedly told me "100% reimbursement" without making sure I knew that 100% as deemed by the insurance company is likely very different than the office's charges to me. They upsold me on services using this language, and I came out being personally responsible for a much larger bill than expected. I called and was told I would receive a call back. I never did (it's been weeks), nor did I receive a response to my previous email, even the courtesy of telling me that they couldn't do anything. So great service, if you ignore all the misleading customer service and payment language. If they'd been clear and open communicators from the beginning, I could've made an informed decision and would have otherwise enjoyed my experience. read more

I became a patient of Dr Barotz at an exceptional time. During the COVID19 crisis. I had an emergency dental situation and found myself in need of a dentist appointment during a time when everyone in the world is being told to stay home and self isolate. The last thing I wanted to do was see any medical professional especially anything to do with my mouth! But the pain overtook my fear. I called their office which I found as they were closest to my home, and Cheryl talked me through all the extra protocols the office is taking and made sure I too had been observing all restrictions and once I was approved my appointment was set. As an immuno-compromised patient I had additional concerns and Cheryl explained them all to Dr Barotz. By the time I arrived and washed up, had my temperature taken, all protocols followed etc and was in the chair and ready for Doc to take a look, my anxiety had already subsided. It was abundantly clear that Dr Barotz was not only friendly but very knowledgeable. He took one look at my X-ray and immediately knew what to do to alleviate my pain. He explained what had happened and why (too much to go into here) and what he needed to do and I'd have immediate relief. He got right to work (painless, I might add) and seriously - like magic he fixed it! No gimmicks. No 'you're going to need this and that'. He just FIXED IT. I can't even believe the difference. I have absolutely no pain. I walked home like nothing ever happened. Amazing. Bottom line: I am beyond grateful. I was so miserable. I was so afraid I was going to have to suffer with this pain through the duration of the coronavirus crisis. I wish to thank Dr Barotz and his staff for coming in to the office to not only treat me but for doing so with so many safeguards, and with kindness and professionalism. I was a patient of Barotz dental for several years. The office downtown was close to my job. I had biannual checkups plus a filling over the years. I think Dr Barotz is a good dentist. However, as some have commented, there is a lot of "upselling". But, they will take No for an answer. My problem is this last year they kept promising to fix a claim with my insurance company and it never happened. I'd call, they would promise to refile the claim or to call me back. Six months later when my next checkup came around, I told them I would not be back. The receptionist sounded annoyed with me because I stopped believing them. Just went in today for a cleaning and checkup. Admittedly I am consistent patient but the charge was minimal for the quality of service. Some people seem to have an issue with his charges. I was never lead to believe that Barotz services were a 'bargain' I would even go so far as to say they were up front on higher than average costs. This guy FIXED decades of patch work by other dentists. It was well worth the price and I have been going for years now and service is consistently excellent. No I am not getting compensated in any way for a positive review. Barotz is a strange dental office. They do checklists, they have careful scripts they follow, and routines that they don't stray from. Another review says it is more like being a customer than what you are used to from the medical profession. Barotz himself is a bit of a self-promoter which also comes off as strange. However, after having gone here going on six years now I would not go back to another system. My teeth have never been better. Their regiment means you get consistent information and help every six months or however often you visit. I can look at their form and have an idea of my blood pressure over the last several years. There's a power to that. They also neatly explained everything about the mechanics of tooth decay and gum health that other dentists have never bothered to. If you work downtown Denver and want a dentist you can visit during the work day, this is a good one to choose. read more

Just had an implant done on Friday. After two consultations with other local "high-end" dentists, I'm glad I went to Dr. Barotz! He didn't push any procedures on me that other dentists hadn't already recommended. And he literally saved me 4 months off the process and about $2,000 out of pocket! And believe me, its not because he is cheap, but because he has technology that others just don't have. And to be honest with you, i've spent the entire weekend without any pain! His office was nice with a view of downtown and the staff is really wonderful, they really know how to take care of someone. All in all, i got in and out in about 90 minutes, just like he said. I went to see Barotz and he charged me 700 for grinding my teeth for 5 minutes - telling me that the pain was about my bite..YES YOU READ IT CORRECTLY 190 for review and 2 x rays ad 500 for putting the drill on my mouth for 5 MINUTES......I paid him 20K last year (CASH) FOR veneers and implant and he did not have any consideration for my past payment or treat this new appointment as a post op or follow up, instead I believe he is trying to make up the money he lost for Covid. I beg you look up another dentist that does not need to make one person's salary in 1/2 hour. .. I am still in excruciating pain... I want to start by saying I am not a fan of spending this kind of time too make a review but I had created a review on a local review site and see that this office had somehow had my review removed. As a medical professional, I believe people making a choice for a dentist or doctor should have all facts and information available to them when making the decision to visit the provider. Almost went to this as we don't have many good options in Cheyenne. After my previous dentist retired, I went to the new dentist in his practice and absolutely hated him, he was horrible. I began looking for a new dentist in the Denver area and found this office and attempted to make an appointment. The woman on the phone (Sherrie?) was flip and condescending, but I didn't want that to turn me from what could be a good dentist - more importantly I need a good hygienist. First this office wanted me to pay $50 to make an appointment.I understand wanting patients to keep appointments, but the explanation didn't sit well with me. I decided to hold off and do some checking on references/reviews. This office seems to have a reputation as a car salesman, money-first business. This set off a bit of a red flag, so I checked a little more and discovered that the dentist here has had a few issues with the state Dental Agency, with a history of improper treatment and recently gave medication to a patient who had a medical condition that this medication could have resulted in serious consequences, possibly death. Went in for a free consultation for invisalign. I was very impressed with the atmosphere and all of the receptionists working were very welcoming and instantly made me feel comfortable. I was feeling very optimistic, which was a relief because I have been going to the same dentist my entire life, whom I love, back in Massachusetts. I met with Dr. Barotz, who also instantly made me feel comfortable, that is until we went into the "consultation room" to discuss options and pricing. He turned into a sleazy car salesman before my eyes. After I stated that the monthly payments were a bit higher than what I was expecting to pay, he suggested that I ask my parents for the money. I was offended, but being non confrontational, I stayed polite. I must have had to say at least 3 or 4 times that I wasn't going to ask them for the money because they have already been more than generous to me in my life. He told me to "put my pride aside and just ask them" and said, "well I don't know what kind of relationship you have with your parents, but I have a very good relationship with my children". I could smell the desperation on him, it was so uncomfortable, especially since he had two interns in the room who must have been shadowing him that day. He then insulted me (in front of said interns) by saying I have the jawline of my dad and the teeth of my mother (insinuating that I have a prominent jawline for a girl and small teeth). Not sure if insulting the patients and deflating their self-esteem usually works to get them to sign up for cosmetic procedures, but I think you catch more flies with honey. I will not be moving forward with any procedures at this office because of this experience and how uncomfortable Dr. Barotz made me. And it does pain me to write this review because as I said, I really enjoyed the receptionists and I was looking forward to going here because of how pleasant they were. read more

The office is nice and the receptionists are also warm and welcoming as mentioned above. But the Dentist is clearly in it for the money and the money only. I can't imagine having a worse experience here. The office was beautiful and everyone was very friendly, but Dr. Barotz was terrible. I have a high pain tolerance, but his poking and prodding inside of my mouth during the exam was so aggressive I had to speak up and ask him to be more gentle. During the exam and the consultation he was blatantly trying to push unnecessary and expensive procedures. I've never had a moment of jaw pain, but he insisted I needed realignment. He jerked my jaw forward and backward to show the difference to prove his point after I said I wasn't interested in the procedure. The next day, my jaw hurt so badly I had to go to urgent care. I would not hesitate to go to Dr. Barotz's Office for all your dental needs. Let me be completely 100% honest here, not that I'm ever less than that, especially when it comes to reviews. I had the displeasure of visiting 5 different dentists before meeting with Dr. Barotz. One of them laughed at me and said "Oh, we're going to make a LOT of money off of you." Another wanted $49,000 to do MORE than the work that I needed done.....that is not a typo. It is a well advertised place for teeth replacement, and it's actually just a huge sales job. Another was just plain downright scary, and dirty and smelled......one of the reasons why I can't stand staying in network, and chose to go outside. And the other, God Bless him, was a great holistic dentist, but was not what I needed, as he kept sending me to specialists. As you can see, I needed some real work done, but I just couldn't find the right fit. Then I saw Dr. Barotz's webpage and realized that not only was he using the latest technology, and does continuing education to stay up on the latest in Dentistry, but he had the answer to some very serious gum disease that I was facing, which is called called LANAP laser surgery. I set up an appointment, and here is what I experience: 1) The front office is amazing, very happy faces, very upbeat and extremely well organized. 2) I got the most complete dental exam I have ever had. They even used a 35mm camera with a zoom lens to get pictures of the inside of my mouth along with digital X-rays. I have never had an exam that included a 35mm camera. I mentioned that this was the most comprehensive exam I had ever had, and Dr. Barotz said that this is why we call it "comprehensive". I KNEW from that point on that I was really going to like this guy. 3) The exam was done, I had a tooth which needed immediate extraction. No problems there. 4) Before the tooth extraction, I brought into a room to consult with Dr. Barotz, and then again on the followup the next week. I was asked "Exactly" what I was trying to achieve and he worked out a plan for me by the second visit. To tell you the truth, my mouth was a mess, molars that needed to be extracted, a root canal that had failed, gum disease, my head just full of infection. I looked at the plan and said that I would have to get back to him. I was still looking at a large chunk of change, but nowhere near what the other guys were asking for. Dr. Barotz said that if I got it all done at once, he'd give me a discount...something I never heard of before. I went home and tried to figure out a financial plan....which I did. Now keep in mind, I was an extreme case, I should have gotten this work done and kept up with seeing a dentist long before things got this bad, but no one else's fault but mine. 5) I make an appointment to get the work done. Dr. Barotz and 3 other people attended to my work. I was going to be ion the chair for 6 hours....the work was done in 4 1/2, streamlined like surgical magic. 6) I should have suffered from a LOT of pain. To be honest, I went through my paces, mostly at night before sleeping. Other friends that have had this much work done were flat on their back for at least a week. I missed one day of work and was back after my weekend, with some pain but very, very manageable. 7) Came back for a follow up, some basic checking and then back again in 3 weeks for another check up, ALL included in the amount I paid up front for the work that needed to get done. 8) Front office is on top of the insurance paperwork. I will be getting the maximum back that I can and if there are any disputes or denials, this will be handled. They know exactly what they are doing here. Bottomline, these guys have it together. Sad to see so many bad reviews and have to disagree with them all completely. I had a wonderful experience with Cheryl, Dr Barotz and the entire staff. And I do not agree that he is money hungry or over priced in the least. What you CAN expect is a caring, friendly staff and reasonably priced procedures. I have pretty severe anxiety when it comes to needles and dental procedures and Dr Barotz offered me a small 'sedation' to help calm my nerves at no extra cost - something other practices have charges me extra for in the past.
