    Chicken Shawarma Plate

Yummy, fresh Lebanese food. Probably the best baklava I've ever had. Really enjoyed the salads that came with the plates and Barouk's homemade hot sauce. Friendly customer service. Just a small seating area, mostly set up for to-go but still very comfortable to dine in!

I think the last place rebranded as Barouk - a new humble Lebanese spot in Park Slope. The interior is super clean, dessert section is huge. They sell fried chicken in addition to meat over rice, Shawarma and other Lebanese staples. Guy working the counter on Saturday was super kind, and hooked me up with a chicken sandwich. I asked for extra garlic, and he did not disappoint. The garlic spread here is pungent, and just how I like it. Meat was prepared fresh and the vegetables and pickles were also fresh, pita bread was also toasted nicely and the portion was generous. A pretty great sandwich for $12 if you ask me. A lot of people from the neighborhood seem to be stopping by and grabbing food here, they do have some seating inside, but I think the vibe is mostly take out. I really do want to try their baklava next time, it looked really good, but I was too full for anything sweet. If you live in the area, definitely stop by here and give them a shot!!

During my first visit to the Middle East in 1975 two things that really impressed me were the delicious middle eastern food and the middle eastern tradition of welcoming guests. Both are in full display at Barouk! Abdullah, the owner, will give you a warm welcome and prepare for you authentic tasting Lebanese food. Be sure to try the humus, baba ganooj, meat pie, zatar bread and shawarma but leave room for dessert! As others have mentioned, the restaurant is spotlessly clean and seems to cater to takeout but there are a few tables at which to sit to enjoy a relaxed meal if you so choose!

Delish!! Wonderful, kind service. Can't wait to come back. Top 3 Hummus I've had in my lifetime...

    Malfouf was delicious!!

Made a reservation for dinner on a Thurs night and tried: + Seaside snap cocktail + Coco logic cocktail + Hummus with Wagyu beef cheek and pine nuts + Baba ghannouj + Snap peas with labneh + Muhammara + sfeeha - baked lamb pies + lamb ribs Cocktails were fine - would get wine next time. Food was excellent, with my favorite dish being the lamb ribs. Baba ghannouj, snap peas and sfeeha were all delicious as well. I do prefer the muhammara at Miss Ada, but would order the rest of the dips (and hummus) here again. 4.5 stars.

Went to Sawa for dinner with a group of six on a Friday night, and it was a great dinner. When you…read morewalk in, you are immediately greeted by a giant oven baking fresh pita as well as an open kitchen. There is also an outdoor dining area, as well as a mid-sized dining room and we were seated near the window. Sawa serves Lebanese cuisine with some more modern dishes. Additionally, they have a mostly Lebanese wine list, which gave us an opportunity to try some new wines. We ordered both a red and a white for the table, and I was especially drawn to the red, as the red was served chilled, light-bodied, and very enjoyable. Nearly all of the reds and whites on the menu are from Lebanon, with just one red from Morocco, plus a couple sparkling options from Lebanon as well. We started with several dips for the table: hummus, baba ghannouj, and muhammara. The hummus was incredibly smooth, and the muhammara was especially flavorful with large pieces of walnut throughout. Everyone at the table receives fresh pita, and we ended up ordering a few more to share. We also shared the Brussels sprouts and the snap peas. The Brussels sprouts were rich and flavorful, but the snap peas really stood out. They were unlike anything I have tasted before, intensely mint, served with garlic mint labneh, and very delicious. For mains, we focused on lamb: two orders of the lamb ribs, two orders of the kafta, and two orders of the sfeeha. We probably over-ordered by about one entrée, but otherwise it was the right amount of food for six people. The lamb ribs were phenomenal, fall-off-the-bone tender and packed with flavor. The lamb pies were also very good and came with a delicious dipping sauce. The kafta was good, though not quite as memorable as the other lamb dishes, but still very satisfying. Service was attentive throughout the meal, and despite the number of dishes on the table, the staff handled everything smoothly. The table got a little crowded at times, but it was manageable. I would absolutely recommend Sawa, especially for anyone who enjoys trying something a little different. They do classic Lebanese dishes very well, while also offering some creative dishes that feel unique and memorable. I am already looking forward to going back.

Nabila's does a great job at balancing upscale dining with casual grub, so overall a perfect spot when wanting to hit the town without a white table cloth. You can see most of the dishes on the menu in their Cruset-esque pots sitting at the front of the restaurant, which during my first visit felt more like a dig inn experience but I digress. There is waited table service so not actually an elevated middle eastern dig inn if you don't want it to be. The menu itself feels perfectly edited and purposeful where everything is meant to be shared. We started off with the mouhamara dip which was pleasantly chunky with the signature flavors of pine nuts, molasses, and honey permeating throughout. The pita was served steaming hot and was the perfect fluffy vehicle for our appetizing dip. Our zero proof drinks (sumac / zaatar lemonades) were absolutely delicious and refreshing. I'm inspired to make these at home. The fattoush salad was also delightfully pleasant with its vinegar dressing and fresh vegetables and crispy toasted pita chips tossed in. It quickly became a favorite and one of the larger dishes we ordered. The fatayer were surprisingly soft and delicate though SO delicious, I could've ordered another round for the table. The sheesh barak were definitely a table favorite as well. I was expecting slightly bigger dumplings, though they tasted incredible and the minty yogurt sauce was the perfect creamy dip to pair with pretty much everything we already had at the table (I combined it with the rice and YUM). I could see myself coming back here and trying more of the menu. We left perfectly full and not over stuffed, which maybe means we didn't order enough by Lebanese culture standards, so just a reason to return!

The service was also great with really nice staff. It would be great if they put some more love into the decor and aesthetic. I have a lot of Pros so i'm gonna start with really the only con. Con: it was pretty loud in the main room. Food: the Dorade and lamb meatballs were both awesome, the Chicken and Saffron butter was great as well. If youre gettting the pita and mezze, get more pita than you'd expect. It's some of the beg pita our family had ever had. The hummus was great but the babaganoush was killlerrrrr. My family had a field day on the syrian cheese and hot honey. I loved the grape leaves and charred eggplant. For dessert, ordered the tiramisu, date sticky pudding, and the rhubarb tart. The date sticky pudding was kind of like a date brownie and the toffee topping was insane. It was so rich and potent. tiramisu was good, but we could have done another Tart. It was so vibrant and refreshing, it was the first to go and if we wouldn't have already been stuffed, we would have ordered another. Service was great, and very accommodating. I can't have sesame seeds, and they took it off of everything we ordered, no mistakes there and much appreciated!

It was a little bit difficult to talk when we were seated in the back area because the acoustics there are not very conducive to conversation, especially when it's busy. There was a group of four girls next to us just catching up, and maybe a few other couples in the space, and it was still really hard to hear each other, enough that it honestly kind of gave me a headache to sit in the back! If you are going here for a date and you actually want to chat, I would recommend asking to be seated in the front so you can actually hear each other.

The service was great, and the ambiance inside was great as well, but due to the food just lacking much personality, I will not be returning.

I highly recommend getting an assortment of dips and small plates - 2-3 dishes per person was just right for us. The Chocolate Babka dessert is a great way to end your meal, and they do make a solid espresso martini for those wondering.
