Came here while on a trip to Puerto Vallarta off of a recommendation from the hotel staff. They recommended the fish, that it was super fresh. They were absolutely right! I ordered the fish with chiles and garlic. The way it was prepared and the flavor was the best I think I've had. The staff was super helpful and on top of clearing the table. I was walking solo on the marina to find something to eat. I was hungry, but too hungry to figure out what to eat. (I know: normally anything and everything would just look good, but I get like this sometimes.) I walked through a lot of other eateries but was turned off by their peeps heckling at me, and with hAngerism on hand, I really wasn't in the mood to deal with them so I simply walked away from every single one of them. Then this place. No hecklers!? Check. Menu posted outside? Check. I came through around 10am-ish and did a quick skim through the menu. A few people came out post-meal (not sure if they were tourists or ex-pats or even locals) and told me to check them out. "Breakfast is half off." And that food isn't bad at all for how much they were charging. I noticed they were at half capacity and everything I saw coming out of the kitchen looked really good, so I was convinced. I felt I needed a break from Mexican food, so I went for the beef tenderloin steak and eggs (for the bargain price of US$4.50!) My food came through just as Hubbers finally made it through. (He ordered their chilaquiles which made it to our table when I was halfway through my meal.) And boy: for what I got, I wouldn't have mind if I paid full price. The steak alone was worth it. It was cooked so tender and juicy and seasoned PERFECT. The egg was also cooked to my sunny side up liking. Not really a fan of potatoes, so I barely touched it. (I was so hungry I didn't notice refried beans or pancakes were also options, I would have rather gone for one of those instead.) But that didn't matter, it was still good eats! FOOD: 5. VALUE: 5. And then some! SERVICE: 5. Zero snags there. PARKING: N/A. Probably street parking, if I had to guess. OVERALL: 5. I wish I had discovered this place much earlier on my trip because I would have made it a daily stop. But so glad of the discovery. On Thursdays, there's a farmers market at the marina. We left the resort to do some shopping and ended up eating at Bacha's Mexican Restaurant. Good choice as we beat the crowd, and we're seated immediately. I had the grilled mango shrimp with veggies and rice. We were happy to be back here. I love their margaritas, and should have stuck with the regular. I had read about tamarind margaritas, and love tamarind, so i ordered one. It was SO SOUR! If you like that, it's for you. We also had seafood soup and chile rellenos, both delicious. And large portions. For breakfast I decided to try the eggs benedict with smoked salmon, and it was great! Hugo makes the best margarita in the Marina! I couldn't finish even half of my Grande Top shelf margarita! The combo #1 was super delicious and hubby enjoyed his seafood soup. Great food, great price, nice view. The service was very friendly and fast and attentive. The food was delicious and well-priced. Portions were generous, and it was kid-friendly. Check out their fish filet Bacha's style. It was the star of the show for sure. The shrimp in lobster sauce was also yummy. They also served us made-to-order guacamole at the table and it was delish! Fun place to enjoy authentic Mexican fare, music and entertainment as acrobats passed by and flipped for us. Fresh guacamole was prepared tableside as part of their schtic. It was the best we ever had. Margueritas were very tasty and potent. We had the Supreme fajitas which included shrimp, tender beef and chicken, onions and peppers. Yum! It's all outside with an overhang facing the marina and amazing yachts. Great waiters couldn't do enough for us. Very inexpensive dinner and would definitely come back. read more

The food is decent for the American pállate. I did love the guacamole. They even make it right at the table! Most of these stars go to our server and the fact they allow the mariachi to come into the dining room area. We had the music for almost an hour and they are the only restaurant that allow the mariachi in. But again our server had to be the most amicable in any restaurant we went to. Owned by Canadians, it's both traditional and approachable. The Guacamole is made table side, with a production shouti "Arriba!" Really fun place to be! It's right on the marina, so you've got dinner and a view. Often the mariachi performers or traditional Mayan dancers come by, entertain for tips. The shrimp fajitas are really good. It's tough to find a Paleo Mexican restaurant. The waiter calls the manager and they both look at me as if "oh, a healthy eater". Not too many options of vegetables and meat only. I greatly appreciate the wireless connection for customers. The guacamole created table side is delicious and complimentary. The seafood soup has fresh octopus, shrimp and fish. The mussels and scallops were tough; did not taste fresh. The broth is a bit too salty. The scallops should have been removed. Went for dinner or first night staying by the marina. It's not, not like better than average service. Had them make the guac at our table for appetizer along with queso with chorizo. Guac was excellent, they asked mild med or spicy we said med. It was awesome. The queso was decent. Guac was so good we ordered more with dinner. Wife has chicken tacos and had enough meat to share with our boy. I had Chile relleno and it was very tasty. Margaret wasn't bad little too much I've in a jumbo. I ordered the Baca enchilada. Shrimp, mushrooms, spinach with cream sauce. OMG!!! Those were the best enchiladas ever! We ordered the table side guacamole and while it was delicious, we would have liked more than one avocado in the guac but it was outstanding as well. My sister in law ordered the three chicken enchiladas that consisted of red,green and white sauce. They were fabulous too. The husbands ordered mahi mahi fajitas. They seemed to love them, but their only complaint was the waiter took too long to bring the tortillas. I would definitely recommend this place. Beware it's down at the marina and the little children come to your table peddling their fares to sell. read more

I believe that this is the best Mexican in the Marina. That said. It is still a little tourist-foodie. I had the shrimp fajita and it was very good- juicy shrimp and yummy veg. It was an enormous portion for one so consider sharing if you don't have a huge appetite. The free made in front of you guacamole was a nice touch (don't forget to have a tip ready). This place would have been greatly improved with decent salsa- the one they serve is so bland. I requested a spicy one but it remained pretty plain for my tastebuds that love a fiery sauce- I'd just bring my own hotsauce next time. The margaritas were solid but I was told by a local to order the small because the large one is just lots of ice- I believe this is accurate, based on observation. I used to like Victor's but since he died, the place is not nearly as good so I maintain that this is currently the best Mexican in the marina, albeit not perfect. Somebody told me that it is owned by a relative of Victor- not sure if this is accurate? Service was very good and friendly. read more

Food and atmosphere were good but they were trying to charge us over 1000 pesos for three dishes and a glass of wine(we ordered shrimp quesadillas, supreme fajitas and kid's spaghetti). My wife and I have been to this restaurant previously, and we were very happy, but not this time around. When we got here last Friday, on our first night in PV, we ordered some margaritas and their guacamole (which is very good). But our bad experience started with a waiter that was way too zealous in taking our dinner order when we weren't ready. Anyway, when I told the waiter that we weren't yet ready to order, he gave me a dirty look, which was just plain rude, especially when there are plenty of seats available. And the bottom line is that I don't think we should feel rushed to order. And when we did get our dinner, the food was less than satisfying. The tamale that I ordered was not good at all, the cheese enchilada was kind of rubbery, and the steak fajitas were average. Definitely not deserving of 4-1/2 stars. read more

10 stars for their kid friendly service. This was just a great example of how a dinning experience can be so much more than the food. These guys have got it right with their customer service and catering to little ones. Let's start with the high chair. We have eaten in many restaurants in PV, this was the first time we were offered a high chair that actually looked clean enough to eat off of - I wish I was joking. The staff were so friendly to our toddler, and she loved it. Because she was happy, so were we!! They brought her a little slice of watermelon and cantaloupe to munch on while we ordered. This small gesture went a long way. The guacamole guy (yes, they make fresh guacamole at your table) gave her half of an avocado that she gladly devoured. As for food, it was good. We ordered Chile rellenos, veggie fajita, and a chicken enchilada. Menu seemed to be catered toward tourist type Mexican cuisine, but overall we enjoyed our meal. I ordered a margarita, on the rocks. This was delivered in a "margarita glass" that was more like a bowl. I couldn't finish it. I prefer smaller volume and higher quality, but I gather this is not the preference of most patrons. Overall, we had a positive experience at Bacha's and were impressed with their quality service. read more
