Taking care of our bodies at Yelp's Fit Club Event at The Dailey Method Lamorinda!
    Cali G.

I visited The Dailey Method in Lafayette during an Official Yelp Event. The studio is small and the experience is very communal and approachable. Our hour-long class focused on strength and flexibility training through Barre, Pilates, and Yoga techniques. Kerry treated everyone with personal attention, making adjustments to our postures and movements to ensure the most effective exercise of each muscle group. Arms, core, legs, and seat...all pushed to moments of "mind over body". The only part of the class that didn't feel natural was the carpeted studio with mandatory socks. I felt like I couldn't always get enough grip under my toes, so the movements using the mat were preferable. Great first experience at The Dailey Method, and hopefully not the last!

When I saw the Official Yelp Event listing for the Dailey Method...I had no clue what to expect. But I RSVPd anyway in hopes that I would be introduced to new techniques to reach my fitness goals. When we arrived, we were greeted with warm welcomes! There were cubbies for our shoes, locker rooms in the back, and a check-in desk...they even sell their own gear! Kerry (forgive me if this is spelled incorrectly) was our instructor for the afternoon. She was encouraging, supportive, and really motivational as we made our way through the class...Barre, for those of us who are unfamiliar, is a unique type of exercise that incorporates strength training and balance. You use props (ballerina barre, mats, balls, elastic bands, and weights) and none other than your own body weight and flexibility. You also go at it sneakerless! I have never done Pilates or yoga before, but a lot of the movement we used during the class was similar. I moved my body in ways I never thought I could. There were also very small movements that were used...that I would have never thought would give me the type of workout I was anticipating. Sure enough, 3 days after...my biceps and triceps are still sore. As well as my abs! Thank you The Dailey Method for opening your doors to us and introducing us to this interesting type of exercise!! I enjoyed it. And will be telling all my friends about it.

The lovely Jennifer in the house!

Do you have cycle fitness classes at the Lamorinda location?

Hi Susan! We do cardio classes but not cycle at the Lamorinda studio. The nearest location with cycle is Dailey Method Berkeley; if you are looking specifically for a cycle class I highly recommend paying a visit there! Hope that's helpful:)

There was NO individual class option. Unfortunately, school has started and we no longer have space in our schedule. I notified them, by email as requested by them, to cancel. But they will not cancel my membership. As you can see in the email below, they will charge me for another month, next month, a whole month after notification and keep my daughters memberships active for two more months when we cannot go to any more classes. The memberships are not cheap. So they will be taking my most recent payment and another $300 for what seems to be purely selfish, sneaky and unnecessary reasons. They claim to have sent me a disclosure of their practices over e-mail but they did not. They signed me up over the phone, claiming to need separate emails for both of my daughters. They sent my daughters the membership policies and never instructed me to read the membership cancellation policy before signing up. This place claims to have policies, "just like gym memberships" BUT they are not a full service gym. They offer a meager selection of classes. And are similar in operation to a yoga studio. These types of class based studios typically charge per class. This was not an option.

I've been aware of Indigo for a few years, never got myself there, until February of 2026. While I'm not incredibly spiritual, it's one of those things that made me wonder what finally got me through that door. The diversity of the teachers and offerings is amazing. They have 2 yoga studios and there are options every day. The fact that there are classes and events on Friday evenings, Sunday evenings when I find the desire to unwind and treat myself to some self care, icing on the cake. I was also disappointed by the instructors. The first instructor got all righteous and told us how "sad" we made her feel after she asked people to move over to make space and we didn't automatically respond, in part because some were confused about which way we should move (it was a very large class of more than 50 people.) She treated us like an annoyed mother telling her children how disappointed she was with them. I did get a good workout, but was a bit perturbed by her ungenerous feeling toward us. Give people the benefit of doubt before reprimanding them! The teacher of the other class was also off putting as she started her class by asking students what yoga meant to them. I don't think it's appropriate to quiz students about why they're in class and then subject others to their answers. Others might disagree, but I just want to practice and then get on with my day, not be tested to see that my relationship with yoga is intact. Needless to say, this studio is not for me!

They use an Xformer, which is a bit different from traditional reformers. It's like a blend between classic Pilates and Lagree-style training, and it delivers serious results.
