We stopped in on a Saturday morning around 9:00 AM expecting a quick coffee before heading to our next stop. There was only one person ahead of us and a couple of people waiting, so it initially seemed like perfect timing. The space itself is clean and welcoming, and the staff were friendly. We've been here before and had a decent experience, which is why we chose to return. Unfortunately, the biggest issue this time was efficiency. Despite having 4 staff members working, the wait time kept growing instead of shrinking. What started as a couple of people waiting turned into several, and at one point someone even gave up and asked for a simple drip coffee just to leave faster. It ultimately took about 30 minutes to receive a single drink. While waiting, it became clear that workflow and prioritization were lacking. At one point, staff paused drink preparation to rearrange and move equipment, even as more customers, including a soccer team, arrived. It created a frustrating experience, especially for those just looking for a quick coffee. It's disappointing because we chose to stop here instead of going to Starbucks, hoping to support a local spot we'd enjoyed before. I always research and look for great places for espresso when I stay out of town. I was excited to try Barrel and Bean but sadly I left disappointed. There was only one barista and a longer wait and line than expected at 7:30 am on a Saturday morning. The Americano tasted weak despite having extra room and the chocolate protein bite was hard, cold and pretty much inedible. Underwhelmed, I was planning to go to Good Guys coffee on Sunday, but they were closed. Short on time, it was the next best option. This time, I added a shot of espresso to the Americano, which gave it a lot more flavor, and I tried the cheese burrito, which wasn't bad. Decent place. I really enjoyed their nitro cold brew latte but wish they didn't add sweetener to it. Husband got their coconut cloud, which was good but suuuuuper sweet. Got the pastries, which were from different places. Highly recommend Sonoma's best cookies! Soft and good. The mini donuts were okay, tasted kind of like grocery store quality. Banana nut bread was moist. Others in our group enjoyed their drinks and pastries too. There's a big room in the back that feels like a cozy living room. First I hardly ever write reviews but this place definitely deserves one! The barista was so sweet and had great recommendations on coffee! I was made an iced cortado which came out perfect... I mean look at the color. Oh and they use Strauss barista milk for the coffee which is top tier milk!! Anyway will definitely be back for a third coffee in the same day. I really like how they're open "late" for a coffee shop as well- you see most places closing between 2-3pm and 4-5pm if you're lucky! I was returning to the South Bay from a long drive 3 hours away in Fresno and came across this little hidden gem- and HIDDEN LITERALLY! lol I passed it like 3x as it's in this cute little area to the back left in a small suite that's very cozy and rustic. It's next to the bike shop where's there's an entrance facing the street for reference. They do have some outside seating which was super cute and provided some great people watching and vibes. I tried the butterscotch iced latte with oat milk and it was very good and super cold with enough ice for one hour of driving left to San Jose. The place has little snacks and treats, kombucha on tap, and drinks and desserts already made to-go in the fridge. In the area and wanted to try a new coffee place. Drove up and found parking on the street. The business is in a little corner of this large space with many other stores in it. I walked in and checked out their menu and notice they have drip coffee. I asked the barista what would go well with the butterscotch syrup and she gave me a few options but ultimately went for the Kona cold brew after hearing several recommendations from her. She had that drink in my hand by the time I finished paying. I usually like my coffee with a splash of milk but this was smooth and didn't need any milk. I actually think it would take away from the vibrant flavors the cold brew had. It was a really delicious cup of coffee. I enjoyed it a lot. I did want a chocolate croissant and she let me know they are working on adding croissants to the menu. The service is the barista was efficient and knowledgeable. She was friendly and offered many useful recommendations. The space is comfy with a bench off to the side and a table or two outside. Beautiful menus and lots of options. Today may not be my day to be here but it was ridiculous! It's early am going home and literally yelped a good "mom and pops place" To my surprise, I arrived still quiet before the rush. Ordered my usual dirty chai extra hot no foam and a banana slice warm. First, I get the chai and it was like warm. I sipped on it again and it's just one of my pet peeves. I like my drinks HOT! I asked if warmer milk could be added. The barista was not happy about that. He did it but it made no difference. I then asked for my refunds. I waited for my banana slice and one side of the bag was warm and the other COLD. It's my first time - I love and enjoying my morning routine with a great coffee and bite! I asked to please re- warm the bread. The bread came out the same the second time. Another lady got involved and refused to do anything about it claiming she's not the one in charge. By then I was frustrated and surrendered. I asked for my refund and shift leader voiced it was done, but I did not see it. I had to ask for a receipt and just walked out. Of course I'm never coming back here again. I'm not ok with mediocrity rudeness and or anything of the like. I really wanted to enjoy getting to know this place and the coffee but new age staff truly are not versed in true authentic customer service experience! I wasted 30 minutes, left a tip from initial transaction, and walked out with nothing! Hope they get the training on customer service, tools utilization , and overall understanding we go out of our way to support "private " businesses and when employees exceed service they also get some Of the benefits. Stopped by on a wednesday morning and there was no line. Unfortunately, the drinks didn't live up to expectations. I ordered the blueberry oat milk matcha and my boyfriend got the butterscotch latte. Both were almost $9 for a 24 oz drink, which would've been fine if they were actually good... but they weren't. Mine had barely any matcha flavor, and I couldn't taste the blueberry at all. I always make an effort to support small businesses in my community. I've gone out my way on several occasions to purchase a coffee from this establishment. Although the offerings were not the best in town I overlooked them and continued patronizing regardless. On today's date I again went out of my way and purchased a latte from them. However I'm not sure if the business was sold or they hired new employees. Upon entering I observed a lone employee witty the register and no customers in the place. I went to the register to place my order and the employee neither greeted me or stood to take my order. I said hello and it was obvious young female was not happy to be there. I placed my order and stood to one side while it was prepared. The order was placed on the counter and not a word was spoken. I picked it up thank the employee (no response) and exited. When I got to my vehicle I took a sip of the latte and it was the worst cup of coffee I've had in years. I attempted to drink it but ultimately threw it out. Needless to say I will never be back. Coffee shop is tiny with only a few bar countertops & chairs inside. Outdoor patio is ok. Petite feeling. Window in back has view of homes and train track. Front window is nice. Interior is well decorated with seasonal vibes. My hot cup 12 oz. Matcha Latte was $5 and hot chicken burrito was $10. Flavorful. The shop has a door that can enter through a long hallway filled with artworks/history wall art next door to get to public restrooms in back. Interesting location setup. Simple. I wish the coffee shop had more tables & chairs inside, but it was still comfortable. No lines or crowds on a rainy day. Overall, decent stop for beverages/snacks/etc. and staffs are friendly. We are always game for trying new coffee shops and we're in Morgan Hill (far from home) and in need of some caffeine. Looked up possible choices and ended up at Barrel $ Bean Coffee. They have a very inviting entrance and patio but very limited seating inside. At around 10AM on a Saturday morning, there was no line and we were able to get our order in right away!! Opted for strawberry matcha and a frappe coffee. Coffee beans flavor was nice and strong flavor to it. The iced strawberry matcha was good but lacked a bit of matcha flair and could mostly taste the strawberries. All in all, a good experience and a place to stop for a cup of Joe if you are in the area and need some caffeine! read more

My boyfriend loves their chai, but they didn't have any so he just got coffee. They ran out of that so he mixed it with another coffee and they ran out of half and half. Let me tell you, it was GOOD! Recommend that drink! If you have a sweet tooth but don't like how the matcha taste, I would get this drink. You can barely taste the matcha. Last time They were out of matcha and promptly handed us a 50% off our next drink which was great customer service. We stop in every time we head down to the coast to charge our car.
