    Delicious lunch

Jonty's Vietnamese Eaterly is a small food stand with patio area and long lines. It's a very popular spot and conveniently located, so that you can walk to the playground, train station, and downtown district. Not a dine-in indoor restaurant. You're eating outside in the open patio spaces. Plenty of big trees and tall plants here, so it's shady and cool. Order at front counter and expect a longer wait time sometimes. Utensils and trash bin is outside. It's next to the Saturday Farmer's Market too. Excellent location. I had the BBQ chicken topped onto my fresh salad greens with a house dressing. Yummy! I just wish it had more chicken meat on mine. Tasty and good. Thai tea was too sweet for me and the brew was strong. What a wake up call. High sugar afternoon, lol! There's plenty to choose from on menu and most people order the expensive Banh Mi sandwiches too. Not cheap. Staffs are organized and efficient. Good window service. Spot is cute! Tiny and still blooming with customers daily. Glad they survived the pandemic. All customers are happy here.

I used to find myself in Morgan Hill during the week often and Jonty's was one of my go-to lunch spots. I was so happy to be back in the area during their limited opening hours and even happier to find their food is still fantastic! The pork belly is soft and flavorful; the bread doesn't scratch up your mouth; and one banh mi is easily 1.5 meals. There are a decent number of outdoor tables available to eat at but only a few are covered. It's also literally at the train station so you can order something to go (if you give yourself enough time since the food is made to order).

Great spot for a quick lunch! My husband discovered this place while traveling through Morgan Hill. If you're in the area and craving some delicious Vietnamese food, this is definitely worth a stop. The service was wonderful, and the food came out quickly. It's also family-friendly -- there's a park right next door for the kids to enjoy. Perfect place to grab a bite before catching the train or continuing your trip. Support small local businesses!

I met a chef at this year's Morgan Hill Food & Wine Festival who asked about my favorite local entree -- he wasn't impressed with my answer (we both agreed I was what they call - basic, lol). He told me to check out the Banh Mi at Jonty's, so here I am. The Banh Mi sandwich comes on a French baguette with garlic, sautéed onions, cilantro, cucumber, jalapeño, and pickled carrots -- plus your choice of protein. I went with steak (should've gone pork belly, obviously, but tried to make a "healthier" Wednesday lunch choice). It was good -- solid flavors, great spice, and crunch. I'd give it about a 3/5, mostly because the steak could've been a little better quality. For a local Morgan Hill spot, Jonty's is a great, authentic Vietnamese find -- tucked away on Depot, surrounded by a variety of plants, with a simple patio of tables and benches. A nice lunch stop worth checking out. Safe to say, after this lunch, I've officially no longer basic! : )

Usually good service. Usually good food. Fast most of the time. By far my favorite restaurant to support in downtown MH.

I was very disappointed after eating at Jonty's. My companion raves about this place but he agreed that it was less than stellar this go around. I believe you can find better value and flavor elsewhere for a lot less money especially at $12 a sandwich. I was in Morgan Hill helping my companion and wanted a banh mi sandwich. We got one beef and one pork belly banh mi along with spring rolls. If you are going to get a sandwich there, get the pork belly and skip the beef. The spring rolls were good but nothing spectacular. It was your average spring roll. My companion got a Vietnamese Ice coffee. The emphasis was on the ice. He asked for "light ice" and got a drink full of ice cubes with very sparse liquid. They said the order would take 15 minutes but it seemed like a lot longer. It was busy with the farmers market on Saturday. I guess I'm used to faster service. Seating is only outdoors, there are no places indoor to sit. I would skip and try going to another place for lunch.

This is a tasty little to-go place with a couple outdoor tables under a roof and right by a park with more outdoor tables (and a playground for the kids while you wait for your food). They have a small menu, and do it well.

I had the Best Banh Mi Ever! Pork Belly Banh Mi - Crispy Skin and Soft Juicy Pork with Pickled Veggies that is made to order. Great Family Own Business with GREAT CUSTOMER SERVICE! There are so many dishes to try, but I know what is now my favorite and go to Banh Mi whenever I'm around Morgan Hill. I ordered the Fried Egg Rolls, Pork Belly Banh Mi, Pate Cha Lau Banh Mi and Vietnamese Ice Coffee. Just the regular one. Not ready for "Jonty" which is double the caffeine.

We ordered the tofu bahn mi, spring roll and noodle bowl. While we loved most of it, I wasn't a big fan of the basil tofu texture and flavor. The portions were great. The service was slower than expected and there isn't much of an ambiance considering it doesn't have indoor seating and is just a few picnic tables outside. The general vibe of the place is still nice.

I'd say the time estimate was pretty accurate. The sandwich itself was pretty good. I was expecting a classic pesto sandwich with turkey breast and a light aioli, but it was sliced deli turkey and a generous amount of pesto aioli. I really enjoyed it. My only complaint was that they just threw my pickle in the plastic bag lol. I still ate it, but I didn't love that it wasn't wrapped. I'll be back to try more of their sandwiches.

I ordered an A-Jay classic cheese steak and garlic fries. Everything was quite tasty. The cheese steak had quality meat and fresh soft bread. The cherry peppers went well with every bite. Garlic fries were crispy and flavorful. Overall I enjoyed my experience at A-Jay's Cheese Steaks. The staff were nice and accommodating. The atmosphere was family friendly and welcoming. It is also an amazing spot for non-vegans; on this visit, I was the only vegan at the table alongside one vegetarian and three non-vegans, and absolutely everyone was impressed. We sat outside on the patio because we brought our dog, and the staff was incredibly nice and turned on the outdoor heaters for us, which made the space super cozy. We ordered a huge spread, and honestly, everyone loved everything. The absolute stars of the show were the Japanese BBQ Cauliflower and the Chili Cheese Fries (even the non-vegans' favorites!). The cauliflower had the perfect crunch, and the creamy sauce it came with was so delicious on its own and paired perfectly with the crispiness. The chili cheese fries are an absolute staple every time we visit. They load them up perfectly; there wasn't a single dry fry without chili or sauce on it. For mains, the Thai Peanut Glass Noodles were well seasoned and perfectly saucy (not dry at all), and the Bakon Burger was delightful with just the right amount of BBQ sauce and vegan bacon. We also tried the Supreme Pizza; the flavors were great and I'd order it again, though my only minor critique of their pizzas in general is that the vegan cheese can be a bit gummy. Service is usually great here. On this specific visit, our server missed a few things (forgot plates, missed an extra order of fries, and didn't check in much), but it looked like she was new and being trained by another employee, so we totally understood. I am easily giving Craft Roots 5 stars. Because we have come here numerous times and they have consistently delivered amazing food, one off-day with a new server in training doesn't change how much we love this place. It's a must visit for incredible plant-based comfort food that will satisfy anyone, vegan or not. We wanted to see what the town was like and find a nice spot to eat with a good vibe. Of course, we checked reviews and MOHI came up the winner. We were NOT disappointed. The downtown of Morgan Hill was super cute to walk through, with many shops, boutiques and eateries in the area. MOHI has indoor eating that is open to the outside and the beautiful weather is a paid actor for the patrons who dine. It has great ambiance with fresh fruits, juices and a bakery to walk in and purchase in addition to the restaurant. It is stylishly decorated and a comfortable atmosphere. The wait staff is attentive, professional and helpful. Our waiter Jack was amazing and knowledgeable with menu items when we asked for suggestions. The frozen esspresso martini is the best I haver had. Thanks Jack! The menu offers a variety of dishes with a focus on healthy Mediterranean styles and flavors. The sourdough and ahi tuna starters were soooo good. I got the butter chicken bowl. It is a little spicy and absolutely delicious. They also apparently own a theater, mansion, ranch, and an upcoming complex that will include housing, shops, and more restaurants. The Good: * Several free lots and free street parking * Catering available * Outdoor dog-friendly seating * They also have a bakery and café available if you're just looking for a light morning breakfast. * Service was friendly but stretched very thin during both our visits as the servers were working more tables than they should've been. * Overall, their pricing is very fair for the quality of the food. * Local beers on tap, as well as a large wine menu. * Wood-fired pizza oven. I didn't try the pizza, but my son wolfed it down. * Carissa loved her brunch Short Rib Fried Rice bowl, especially all the perfectly cooked butternut squash. * Tempura broccoli was fantastic. I loved that they served this instead of the ubiquitous fries to go with the burgers. The Meh: * I don't know why they can't have a menu on their website? The only way to view what's available is you have to pretend you're making an order. * The Brunch Loco Moco was just okay; the hamburger was a bit overcooked for my liking. Otherwise, the egg, rice, and gravy were delicious. * Their burger-to-bun-to-topping ratio is not good. It's mostly that their buns are much, much too thick for the tiny smashburger patties, and the whole thing ate very dry despite all the cheese. I did enjoy the crispiness of the bacon, though. * The salmon in the Roasted Salmon Bowl was also overcooked, and the amount of salmon for the price point wasn't really worth it, in our opinion. The Ugly: * Vegetarian Farm Spring Rolls were pretty bad, if I'm being honest. The only reason we wolfed them down was we had just arrived after a long 5+mile hike and were starving. The ricepaper skin was tough and leathery, and the filling wasn't very substantial. The sauce also needed to be thicker to stick to the rolls. * Parking can be a bit of a hassle, especially if you arrive during the nearby farmers market (Sat 9 a.m. - 1 p.m.), as they are located in the large parking lot on Depot St. Conclusion: Overall, we had very high hopes for this place, as this is the type of place we usually love. However, even after two visits, we just don't see ourselves coming back for another visit anytime soon.
