Hi, I'm hoping to get into contact with an owner or manager about an incident that happened yesterday 12-15-20 at barrel house grill, walterboro. At around 12:00 my party of 7 had arrived, us and 4 others were the only customers in the store. I had ordered a Double Barrel Burger with no cheese *due to a dairy allergy*. The waitress repeated back and said no cheese. Around 30 mins later our food came out. Mind you now, my food had already came out after everyone else's. She sat it down and there was two slices of cheese on it. I said "Im sorry mam i said no cheese, i can't eat it with cheese on it" The waitress said to me "Oh let me go check my paper work, I thought u said with cheese". She took my plate and came back and told the table "yes i put no cheese on the paper, the kitchen must have over looked it. they are fixing it now for you" She comes back about 5-10 mins later with the same exact burger. there was still cheese on the side of my bun! i flipped my burger over and it was wet! It still had melted cheese on it as if they had quite literally washed my burger off! It was also cold. At this moment almost everyone at the table had finished eating, she came back and i showed her were there was plenty of cheese on the burger still, i asked her if i could please get a new patty at least with no cheese on it. A family member sitting across from me had spoken up and told her i had a diary allergy. then she said ok. everyone else was already done and had they trays picked up by the time my food came out. i had to ask for a to go tray to take it home. I ate it about 30 mins later at my home and it tastes AWFUL. i assumed it was just me because i had lost my appetite and started feeling nauseous after a few bites. i told my roommate he could have it because i couldn't eat it. He bit into it, then spit it out and said "this is disgusting, where did you get this, it takes like chemicals". it smelt like soap!! Me personally, working in the food and beverage industry cannot believe a restaurant did this. read more

I came here with my friends to celebrate my birthday and the service was the absolute WORST. We had no a/c, our server could not remember our orders, she took forever to get anything for us, and we got yelled at by other servers if we asked for anything because they were "really busy." Coming for someone that worked in the food industry, the customers ALWAYS come first. I will never recommend this restaurant to anyone. 0/10. read more

We stopped here on our way to Florida on Thanksgiving evening. Staff were really nice folks and the food was great - we had grouper sandwich and fish and chips. Homemade potato's made several ways - chips, fries and crinkle cut. Worth a stop. read more

We read all the reviews and didn't know what to expect, as everybody has a different perspective. We were tired and hungry travelers and this place was not a chain (we try not to do corporate places and support Mom and Pop establishments). We walked in about 9:30 pm and were attended to immediately. Our drink orders were filled very quickly. First and second round were a decent pour. We had some really good pickle chips and wings to start. Husband ordered a Philly cheesesteak that was served piping hot and was very tasty. I ordered a smothered sliced steak served over mashed potatoes with grilled onions, green pepper and mushroom with a brown gravy, complete comfort food & by the way, I also got a salad and the ranch dressing is as good as everyone says it is. Our server was energetic, attentive and thought enough of where she works to take me on a tour of the place, they have an outside area where people can play cornhole, watch games, smoke or just hangout and drink. Hey, I like that she was proud of where she worked and said " when you come back through, stop back in and see us again". Nice is nice no matter where you are or where you are from. Loved the personal touch. It isn't fancy, but we don't need to have that all the time. Good people serving good people. read more

Do not visit these people, they treat their waiters like crap, food is slow and drinks overpriced. Plus the owner couldn't pay for the beautiful website I built that he asked me to build. I suggest going to Main Street Grille instead. read more

Good place for adult beverages. Haven't been in a few months but on the weekends it gets packed. The bar tenders are always on cue to keep up with drinks,no matter how crowded. The fried mushrooms and the fried oysters are CHOICE! I've heard from good source,the steak is excellent as well. Have yet to try it personally. read more

As another reviewer posted this is now called the Barrel House. There is really slim pickings in Walterboro SC. My first suggestion would be stay in another city. That being said here is my opinion on this sports bar. I went in on a Monday night around 6:30. I sat at the bar as this is where most of the other patrons were at. They have a few TV's, not great quality TV's and nothing very big. They have no draft beer so if you like draft beer as I do find another place. My second beer choice was Stella but they were out of that. I settled on a Yuengling. Once I found a beer I wanted the waitress's very next question was " are you paying cash" this was before she even went to get my beer. I informed her that I would be paying by CC. She needed my CC to start the tab, then she retrieved my beer. Not a big deal I just found it odd. Normally the bartender would bring over my beer than ask for payment options. I felt like they have had people skip out on tabs and they thought I looked shady enough to do that or it was because I was not a local as most people in the bar seemed to know everyone. Either way it was no big deal just felt weird. I had a couple beers and the bartenders were very attentive. The menu was full of standard options and some specials that others around me ordered and it all looked good. I ordered the chicken wings ( 6 hot and 6 blood thirsty, which is their hottest option). They had a good variety of wing sauces to order from. I also got an order of crinkle fries. The food was good. Nothing to write home about but there was nothing wrong with it. The hot wings would have been hot enough for me but the blood thirsty wings were not so hot you can't eat them. The crinkle fries were good also. The bartenders made sure I never ran out of beer and did check on me throughout the meal. I can't say anything bad about this place but I would hate to live in this area and this was one of my only local spots to hang out and eat. I won't make the mistake of staying in Walterboro, SC again, but if you have the unfortunate luck to be stuck here this place is not that bad. read more
