I will never stop recommending Bexley! The food and service are always top tier. I worked with Jeremy years ago when he was at Anson Restaurant. It has been wonderful to see him flex his culinary muscles with the creations at Bexley! Everything on the menu is well thought out and truly a stunning piece of art on every plate. Bonus, sit on the patio. It is closed in, air conditioned, and feels like you're in a secret corner of Summerville.

First off - Hi Jeremy!! Your establishment is phenomenal!! Also thanks for the rec on the band Goose! Can't wait to be a regular at that bar!! Amy our server was A++!! Thanks for the fantastic service! She was fun and fresh and made our visit top notch! Always always sit at the bar!! It's so fun to watch them not only fresh suck your oysters but all the food- like a chefs table experience- but less stuffy! The food speaks for itself! Made with love and fresh! Not a single item that came over the bar was bad or mistake.. It's a fun family atmosphere!! You can tell that the staff wants to be there and the food - oh my gawd the food - chefs kiss!! An absolute staple the next time I'm here!!

Bexley has quickly made a name for itself in Summerville, and it absolutely lives up to the hype. I love coming here for oysters, especially oysters and bubbly. The ceviche is also so good and really unique--definitely a must-try. I also love that the menu is always changing, so there's always something new to go in and try. The inside is very charming and thoughtfully laid out, and the patio area is perfect when the weather's nice. Great location, great vibes, and everyone is genuinely so friendly. Such a great spot for date night or a relaxed evening out.

Bexley was the first restaurant we visited in the Summerville area, and we had a great dining experience. Although we were a walk-in on a busy Saturday night, the hostess still managed to accommodate us quickly. We were sat on the enclosed patio, right near the entrance and the host stand; maybe not as glamorous as the indoor seating, but we had no problem with this. Our server was very knowledgable about the area, and kindly gave us some pointers as we are new to Summerville. Scallops on the 1/2 Shell were flavorful and delicious. Oysters were on the small side, but tasty, and my Tilefish (Fish of the Day) was prepared wonderfully, perfectly cooked. Everyone enjoyed their meal. Will surely return!

We went on a double date with some friends that live in Summerville and they had recommended, Bexley's and we are so grateful they did!!! We had such an amazing meal, everything was beyond delicious and we made sure to order various dishes and split everything. It was great to try out a new restaurants in a different area of Charleston. It was easy to find parking, the service was amazing and I'll let the photos speak for the food ‼ If you are ever in the Summerville area, you must eat at Bexley's, they have seating at the bar/counter which looked awesome because you can see the chefs preparing all the food and a covered (heated) outdoor seating. Make sure you don't skip dessert either!

To start I am not a seafood person but my son and boyfriend are. They absolutely loved everything they ordered!! I got the hanger steak which I was not a fan of. The bread though i could eat the whole platter myself it was amazing. The service was fantastic. They even made fried shrimp for my son that wasn't on the menu. Which was so thoughtful! I would absolutely recommend this restaurant if you are looking for some wonderful seafood.

Great place tucked away in Summerville. We got there in time to take advantage of 1/2 price Oysters and wine. Sue our waitress was delightful and knew the menu inside and out. She was great with our one person with a nut allergy and another with a shrimp allergy. Making sure nothing was contaminated to hurt them. The oysters were delicious, we had the surf board which had so many things on it I won't remember them all! Cream Corn, Potato tartine, ahi-tuna, shrimp toast, crab, whitefish salad and some other things. Scallops on the half shell, a peach and burrata salad and roasted lamb cheeks. All were delicious!! 4 of us had the fish of the day ~ wreck fish, a fish that tasted like grouper, white with a swordfish type texture. Fried Oyster Roll, Tuna & Shrimp Poke Bowls. Sue's service was excellent. The buser's were on top of things and we all had a great time. Will definitely be back

This place is a hidden gem that is getting more and more recognition. We love this place and eat here at least 2x per month. Seafood forward creations that are almost too pretty to eat. Jeremy and team keep standards on the menu...oysters, tuna, octopus but are always changing it up. Sit at the oyster bar and watch the magic happen.

Wow! Just wow! I was absolutely blown away by everything! Never had so many flavors bursting in my mouth at once! Loved the spin on ceviche! The surfboard was awesome! The sauces they have concocted to complement the oysters, oh man! The service was great! Love love love the intimate setting/vibe! Definitely visit here!!

Great restaurant with a beautiful ambiance as soon as you walk in. Host was friendly and helpful. Waitress was kind, recommended a dry red wine to get us started, and was attentive. Ordered the bread and the surfboard. The bread was delightful and I could have eaten the entire platter alone. The surfboard was very good, some items were a little out of my comfort zone.

Things I liked about Bexley's : Easy parking . You can park on the street or in the free parking garage that's just a few steps away. It's a nice location that overlooks Hutchison Square. You can easily walk to the wine bar on the square for before dinner cocktails or afterwards for a night cap. Nice, modern ambiance . Here's what I didn't like : We sat at the food bar and observed that none of the cooks or food workers wear gloves or hair nets. We watched these guys touch every piece of food , touch phones and then go back to touching food . I saw one dude lick a spoon and then place it under the counter. One guy had shoulder length hair and was leaning over plates of food . No hair net and hair not pulled back . It was all very unhygienic. Food was just okay. We ordered 6 different dishes and they all tasted like they had the same spices . Also the gnocchi has sugar in it ! It was too sweet . That's blasphemous. Side note : they also don't serve liquor . Wine only . My partner tried to order some liquor to wash his mouth out of some of the food flavors only to learn the restaurant doesn't have a liquor license . We had high hopes for Bexley but hopefully the restaurant can get it together .

Came here for my mom's surprise bday dinner. Service was OK-- was a bit difficult to keep the server's attention on the patio & the acoustics were horrible -- had wished I had booked a table inside after only a few minutes trying to talk. The food was good, I particularly enjoyed my rock shrimp gnocchi. I am excited to try this place again but lesson learned on the patio. Thanks tot eh chef and staff.

Our experience was excellent, and so was the food. The restaurant was very clean, the prices were fair, and for a fast-casual restaurant, the service was fantastic. What really stood out was that during a lull, the chef--who I suspect may also be the owner or manager--came out to greet customers and check on the quality of their meals. On his way back to the kitchen, he stopped and bussed a table. It was a small thing, but it says a lot. Clearly, this is someone who cares about the business and the customer experience. We'll definitely be back and wouldn't hesitate to recommend this place to others. And one last thing: the crab cake sandwich was fantastic!

A traditional Shrimp Po-Boy is made with coleslaw and it's expected for places to experiment with the recipe. But when this place says Shrimp Po-Boy, they definitely mean it because you get 6 small shrimp on A LOT of sub bread, some scraps of lettuce and a light seasoning of leftover tomatoes. Due to the restaurants name, I expected the hushpuppies to be a slam dunk yet they were tasteless, burnt outside and raw inside. Lastly the soda area was dirty and smelled like a kindergarten bathroom. It is worth the drive to get AMAZING seafood at Bowens Island Restaurant or just get a better sub at Jersey Mikes for cheaper. Hushpuppies charges too much for its low level of service, quality of food and lack of cleanliness compared to many other average restaurants.

I would change the name because the name suggests they have oysters only and it turns out there is more, not a whole lot but enough for a non oysterholic to come in and have something to eat while you chug an ale or one of the shots with a slimy thing in it I got to try a shot of something that tasted like bloody Mary's mix with an oyster inside, I felt the slimy thing going down the hatch and later ordered a dozen or so oysters Parmesan, cooked taste a little like scallops, not bad and I could go back and try something else The calamari was ok, not as great as I can make them if I had a fryer with a thermostat, the batter was a little too thick and I tend to like them with a see through batter not a filler, it was crunchy ok but maybe a little overcooked and not a lot of people know that calamari should be flash fried for about a minute and if you go beyond that is like the Michelin man The place is fun and be prepared for a loud environment because it is small but go with an open mind and it is a nice different experience I will go back and try their fish and chips

The facility was clean and well stocked. The quality of food is not worth the crowding or wait time that so many are subjected. As a single person party, I chose to find a seat at the bar. It was not overly large and was monitored by 2 servers. I was fairly quickly addressed to get my drink and I ordered a starter without prompting due to the number of patrons. Another sat beside me but she was overlooked for quite a bit of time, finally having to ask for a menu. Once my starter arrived, the okra basket, I was ignored. The okra was ok but nothing special, standard premade restaurant supply brand of thickish breading that was intermittently soft or crunchy. I was 1/4 way through the basket before I had a chance to request cutlery and seeing that the servers had started to focus only on the person next to me that they had initially overlooked, I also requested my entree. I had reviewed the menu prior to arrival and decided on my order in advanced. Unfortunately it was not available on the brunch menu and lunch was not an available option. I should have asked for the check at that time but selected an omelette instead. While waiting and consuming my starter, I requested a menu draft to be told it was unavailable too. The suggested alternative was decent. My entree arrived about 20 minutes later. It was dry, both the eggs and protein. I was able to request and receive a sauce in a short period of time. My refill did not need to be requested but it was incorrect so I did have to ask for another. I know the staff is most likely good, the popularity produced by the Travel Channel keeps them too busy and complacency is prevalent. I had hoped that the publicity did not change the uniqueness of the menu but I will trust my intuition in the future and continue to avoid these types of restaurants.
