Okay I've been going to this place for a very long time but I ordered 24 wings for myself and my wife but she told me that the food had a nasty aftertaste to them and so I took them back and I got a free xl pizza, but come to find out, she told me even the pizza tasted weird. Food is typically consistent but the attitude at times can make one run for the hills. For example, if another patron is screaming obscenities at their children, or has cell phone cranked to levels blasting over tv and all other sound in restaurant and you ask staff to address they will at best be rude to you. Today I asked about a gluten free option for coupon I received. Girl at register was demeaning and said they don't offer special treatment. When I tried to politely explain it's not special treatment when it's a dietary need she got very nasty, cut me off almost yelling about prices. I have been a very loyal customer and consistently add a small tip for what is not really a service restaurant. But being chewed out like that out of ignorance is unacceptable. Definitely evidence of why Arizona is the 50th in the nation for education. Special treatment is actually what is required to put up with the low standards and lack of basic respect that is so often prevalent here. read more

Consistent attention to serving the best products wether it be food or other products is not an easy task especially with food. Now, you can go from 1 pizza joint to another of the same chain ( hate to say that ) but, you could say that the food was better over at the other place. Their business relies on the cook(s) ability to serve the same dish consistently day after day / night. The cook is human and should be allowed an off day / night, but tries not to for the sake of the business and their paychecks... Super bowl Sunday and ordered pizza and wings. Ordered the wings extra crispy and they were underdone and fleshy. Only 1/2 of them had sauce on them. We frequent THIS Barro's on a very regular basis! We drive further to go to this location, as we like it better than the other location that is closer!! We go for lunch! We love the lunch specials! Look them up on their website!! We really enjoy the salad bar! It is no longer a serve yourself salad bar since Covid hit, but you can tell them what you want, and they fix you up! They have all of my favorites, and my hubby's favorites too...and we don't like the same stuff on our salad! They have a good variety of choices. The employees are always very friendly. Arrived at 9:45pm, close at 10pm. I walk in was greeted and order a carry out pizza with pepperoni and jalapeno. Restaurant was clean and pizza was ready in 10-15 minutes, brought it home and shared with friends and the pizza was very good, it's a floppy pizza not a bad thing it just is. I can't believe I am writing this. I never leave a bad review unless if I have an absolutely horrible experience. I have ordered from Barro's for years and I have never had an issue up until today. I have been ordering my pizza extra well done since we add ricotta so it isn't just falling all over the place. I usually go pick up the pizza but today my boyfriend went instead. When he arrived home we went to open the box and the pizza was burnt. BLACK BURNT. You can't even bite into it burnt. I called and the girl said she can remake it she was nice as the front girls always are. She told me to hold then the manager came back on the phone. His name was Chad. Chad was very rude from the moment he started talking. "Hi mam you ordered the pizza double well done which is what you got. I took out and cut the pizza myself. That was what you ordered." I was appalled but kept calm because I have worked retail before and customer service. I work at it daily. He was not giving me any options. I told him I order from you guys all of the time and have never had an issue which is why I'm calling. He then told me that new management just took over a month and a half ago. I told him to check my order history as I have ordered extra well done in the past and I was confused as to why this pie was different(burnt). He checked and said the past 2 times you ordered extra well done but the time before that you didn't. Which made no sense but he wasn't making sense from the moment he answered the phone so I ignored that. I asked him if the two last orders were with them or the old management team. He then tells me it is them. I told him okay so I'm confused why is this pie different. He then asks me "well do you want to bring it back and make you a new one?" .... ummmm I asked that from the very beginning. I couldn't believe the conversation. I know they say customer is always right but this time that is 100000% true. Anywho fast forward 35 minutes later I go in to take it back. The cashier was nice and said okay let me take this back to my manager. He was walking out at that moment with a pie. I stared at him and he did not make eye contact with me once. He was avoiding me. I just stood there and so did the girl. She then said I think that is yours. Chad proceeds to look at her and say yes it is. I couldn't believe he was the manager. This location will go the opposite direction if he is in charge. No acknowledgement or apology. Just straight up rude!!! I am upset because of him they lost a customer. Provided ALL my info 3 times, because he kept saying "huh" or "say that again". Long story short pizza wasn't delivered until 8:30pm. Called 4 times total in between 6:27pm - 8:30pm. Like many Yelp posters I wouldnt normally take my time to give my feedback on social medai, but in this instance the young employees at the counter were not prepared to make a decision outside of taking orders and/or payments. I think the food is good here, but a system to handle prepaid orders and hand over a pizza is an easy task. People who order online, wait over an hour and still have to drive to the location and pick the order up should have some priority. We see commercials about ordering direct and not though Door Dash and the rest, well this is not a good representation of not using your competitor. Still great wings. Just saying. read more

I'm very disappointed since you switched to DoorDash only. Now it's almost $10+ more to buy anything from you now with all the damn fees. Also we ordered hot wings 2 times in the past couple months and yawl have started not allowing special instructions. Called Barro's Pizza at 67th Avenue in Glendale this morning. Elissa (sp?) answered the phone and I knew immediately that everything would be handled, despite the anxiety I was experiencing. Late yesterday, without thinking it through, I asked the nurse in our doctor's office if we could provide lunch the next day as a 'thank you' for the amazing care given to my husband after a medical emergency. I was unaware that pizza places don't open until 10 or 11 am. I had promised lunch for about 12 staff members who take lunch at 11:30. We live 6o miles away from the docs office. After several wasted calls to other places, Elissa answered my call and assured me that they could deliver by 11:30. When she asked what I wanted, I was like the proverbial deer in the headlights. I just haven't had to order pizza and I had no idea how to keep it simple. Elissa quickly took me through delicious options and we ended up with four kinds of pizza. She told me they would be on time, no worries. When I asked to have the delivery person call to confirm delivery, she immediately said that would be no problem. Food Quality: in my opinion the best pizza in AZ. Chicago style- thick crust not the super thin extra greasy New York style pizza. From what I remember no HFCS on the pizza sauce, no Trans- Fat on dough. They offer Pepsi product so they have Gatorade available which I believe does not contain HFCS. They also serve unsweetened sweet tea and unsweetened tea. Their unsweetened sweet tea is one of the best commercial tea I've had and I'm a huge tea drinker. They however sell wings that has free glutamic acid or partially hydrogenated oil in the sauce. I can't remember exactly what it was, it's been a while since I've asked. I asked several times hoping they would change the ingredients. This is the reason I can not give them a 5 star rating. As much as I would live too. Cleanliness: always clean. Restrooms are always clean and stocked as well. Plates and trays are clean. Service: food usually come out at a good time, today was extremely fast. They have friendly service. I do feel they can work on. Smile more, ask if were doing okay. It looks like they are always to busy even though it's super slow. We try to make it here everytime in town. Just moved into the neighborhood and was excited to see a Barros around the corner. I have been ordering from Barro's for close to 8 years now from where I used to live. So on my I first order, I let her know I'm new in the neighborhood and I checked on the delivery time to get an idea cuz everybody is different. The young lady started to take my order and wanted my last name. I told her I'm paying cash and there's no need for a last name. She said the system required it. I refused and she just liberally assigned me the letter "A" for my last name. I inquired as to why and her response was it's no big deal. I asked her what makes her think it's okay to question my position on things. And she repeated well it is, it's really no big deal. I asked for the supervisor and Chaz answered the phone. I repeated the issue to him several times and he was stuck on the fact well she had to put something in the last name field what's the problem. I told him I understand the system required it but that is not my point. I reiterated to him several times the point is this young lady dismissed my opinion. His response to me was since he did not hear her say it there's nothing he could do. I then informed him I will cancel the pizza and he got very condescending in a tone of "okay fine go somewhere else". Keep in mind he didn't use those words that's my expression of the interpretation of his words. This seems to be par for the course on Yelp when people reference Chaz. So, I looked around and there are multiple other pizza joints in my new neighborhood. I will be more than happy to try them all out. read more
