I am thinking this was a really off night but it was miserable nonetheless. Checked in at 6:55 pm tried to get with our normal waitress. We were told it would be 20 minutes. In twenty minutes we were sat with somebody else. Ok, whatever after 5 minutes the waitress came over to take our order we ordered two drinks and two waters and placed our order. The waitress brought us out 3 waters and one drink. About 10 minutes later she realized she forgot a drink so she brought that and refilled waters. We sat for forty minutes before I asked where our salad was. Mind you she had not so much looked at us since bringing the water and drink. She said the salads were really backed up and it would be about 3 minutes. Three minutes later the manager came out and told us salads were backed up and it would be out in about three minutes. I asked her if we could get drink refills which she did bring. The salad finally came out and the manager said she would take care of it. Once we finished the salad the sandwich came out shortly followed by the pizza which the manager was carrying. She told us this pizza isn't right but I am going to give it to you to start on and we will bring you out a new pizza that looks right in 6 minutes. After the first pizza was completely eaten (longer than 6 minutes) she did bring out another pizza. The pizza was really good as was the sandwich. When the bill came the waitress made sure to let us know the second pizza was on there but it was taken off. The rest of the food was also on there, no discount or anything for having to wait so long. Overall, disappointing night which took well over two hours. Met up with my friends from work for a lunch! They have a great lunch menu but I wanted a pizza! Clark Street Meat Pizza please. I showed up late but I had my friend put in my order. We had a perfect corner table for the 5 of us. When I arrived my ice tea was already waiting for me, and less than 10 mins my pizza was here with everyone's else food. Perfect timing. Order here regularly and typically the service/wait time is not bad at all. Tonight was a different story. Ordered Alfredo the dark with sliced chicken and there was literally 2-3 pieces of chicken. Also ordered a pizza cookie with ice cream may have been a milk shake! Not to mention I was given a 20 minute window so I arrived there about 20 mins after I placed the order and had to wait an additional 20 minutes after arriving. Ok, first I want say this is specifically reviewing the Gluten Free Pizza. I have had Celiac for 12 years. Oregano pizza reminded me of the the frozen pizza that first came out but was horrible, tasted like cardboard. I have been to several Italian restaurants No one has had this bad of pizza in a long time. I believe they should take it off the menu until they get a better crust. My frozen pizza from Sam's club is better! I do have to admit the wings were great! We had dry rub and sweet and spicy! Bone in of course! Which is why they are getting two stars. Once we arrived and checked in, we were told it would be an ADDITIONAL 30min. We waited 1h from when we checked in to when we actually got seated. The pizza and pasta quality were terrible. Cool and interesting atmosphere, cute old photos of a family owned restaurant. I ate the Dark Alfredo and per previous reviews ordered an extra sauce on the side. It was perfect. The dish is delicious with a creamy white sauce-I added shrimp-it was fresh and good tasting. Other family members ordered the deep dish Sausage/extra cheese pizza and the Bollo pasta. It was so big we split the pizza. The other dinners dishes were so huge(salad) that it looked like a mound of yummy! Dessert was the The Original Pizza cookie with ice cream. It was more like a oowey, gooey brownie with vanilla ice cream. The dessert alone is worth the visit. We celebrated two birthdays and it was great. Wait staff was attentive, kept the drinks flowing, let us know that the deep dish Chicago style pizza takes longer than normal to cook because of the fresh tomatoes. Well.... I used to love Oreganos and I think this experience has purged me of that love... I put my name in on the wait-list online. It send me a message saying to press 1 to let them know we were on the way. I pressed 1... Soon after I got a message stating that since they didn't hear from me, they were removing me but if I were still on my way to press 1. I pressed 1 again.. Got to the restaurant and was told they couldn't see the messages and all that they saw was a 1, so we had been removed from the wait-list. I wasn't a super long wait for a table... But not being super busy should have been a huge hint to leave... After we ordered we waited for about 30 minutes for our food. We had 2 adults and 4 kids... So this was a long wait for them. Especially since we didn't order a pan pizza. When our order arrived, my order of zany ziti was missing. Apparently our server never heard me say it as it was missing off our bill as well... In addition to the inattentive server, our childrens pasta was undercooked.... They had angel hair. That is super hard to undercook... Especially when we had to wait 30 minutes. We won't be back. Great location and plenty of patio seats when you have a large party. Came here after church with a large party in which more than half were kids. Kandra was our server and when I say, she needs to be cloned. She was attentive, patient and efficient! Food Wings-our friend told us we had to try them and they were delicious! As well as the waffle fries they came with. I would order both for lunch and be happy. Deep Dish Pizza-We added pepperoni and sausage and it was cheesy and delicious. BBQ Chicken thin crust-BBQ sauce has a great flavor but I would prefer if the chicken was shredded versus cut, it ate a little dry but still delicious. Ate here tonight. There were two cockroaches on the floor near the bathroom. 3/4 of the pastas ordered at our table were so incredibly dry, and I mean like "this can't possibly be the recipe" dry. I could barely even see the sauce on our pasta when it arrived.. We had to wait aprox 5-10 min to get extra pasta sauce for us all. Really poor quality food. Especially when you factor in that it's $25 after adding meat to your pasta. Sticky tables. Cramped. Roaches freeloading. Hard pass. One of my favorite restaurants for pizza in the Phoenix area. I've been coming here for over 15 years with my family for spring training Baseball. I've been eating at Oregano's since I was young and have always loved it. A little neighborhood staple. And almost any neighborhood you live in AZ has one. Tonight, we ordered take out. Family are at Oregano's as we were looking for an Italian option. It was a fine choice but unremarkable in most ways. Portions were generous and service fine though slightly slow. The pasta dish was a typical spaghetti (replaced with penne) meat sauce and meatballs. Good but not outstanding. It was nice that it could have been all you can eat but a second portion wasn't ordered. The bread was good. The pizza wasn't a hit. In hindsight we should have focused on finding a pizza place that had pasta instead of a pasta place with pizza. If I was local I'd probably repeat but it won't make the list for a vacation repeat. read more

My family and I were here for Father's Day. It took forever to be seated by a girl who clearly did not want to be working, and acted like we were an inconvenience to her. She was the hostess. Next, we had a waiter who was nice enough, but he was completely incompetent. When we asked him for extra dipping sauce for our very greasy fried zucchini, he never brought it. We asked him for ranch dressing for the grandson's pizza, he never brought it until he asked him a second time. Next, we had the worst food we have ever eaten at an oregano's. The food was so bad our 11-year-old grandson didn't even wanna take home is leftover pizza. We will not be back. read more

Wednesday, 4/13/2022 - Went to eat at Oregano's Italian restaurant. Address is 6738 W Bell Rd, Glendale, AZ 85308. Cute restaurant with lots of unique decorations. I liked how they used a lot of stuff for decorations and made it look nice. So like using a power surfboard, old serving trays, bed spring with Christmas lights, old 50's motor bikes, etc. It gave us something to look at, talk about and view while waiting for our foods. Upon arrival: Pros: 1) hostess was super nice. Seated us pretty quickly. 2) restaurant had pretty cool and unique decorations. 3) I saw servers clean up tables as soon as their patrons left. 4) restaurant looked clean. Plates, cups, utensils, tables all clean. Seats were clean. 5) women's bathroom clean. 6) water tasted good. No metal or funky taste. 7) our server was really nice and professional. He checked in on us a couple of times and gave us time to review the menu before taking our orders. We didn't feel rushed. 8) we got the thin crust pizza made with WN cheese, wings, salad, artichoke dip and garlic bread. All tasted good. 9) we talked to a few of the workers here and all very friendly. 10) plenty of parking here. 11) their homemade chip was so good. Prefectly crispy and fried. Cons: 1) maybe I'm not used to this type of pizza. But it had a funky after taste. I still liked the pizza. But it kept leaving an odd after taste in my mouth. 2) artichoke dip was great. I loved that it has a lot of artichoke. But my SO prefer it to be more creamier. I like it both ways. Conclusion: Love this restaurant and the great customer service we had. Foods good. Oh Oregano's, one of my first and favorite Arizona-born restaurant loves. For starters, if you've never been to an Oregano's and are in the area, stop what you are doing and go inside right now! This especially rings true if you're visiting Phoenix or are in town for a short period of time. Although the food has gone down in quality, it's the atmosphere, nostalgia, and service that makes this a great place. Food: In terms of Appetizers, we ordered the Wings which were cooked to perfection. The spicy flavor with the Italian blend was right on point. We also ordered a favorite, the Chicken Caesar salad which had a great flavor, but was honestly lacking when it came to the chicken. Regarding the entrees, we also ordered the Alfredo in the Dark with Chicken. The sauce was a bit watery, the dish looked significant smaller than how it used to be served, and there was a lack of chicken when it came to the dish. For dessert we had the fan favorite- Pzookie! (Pizza Cookie) Honestly, you can't t go to Oregano's without ordering the Pzookie, it's like going to Cheesecake Factory without the Cheesecake. I really feel like they were the pioneers when it came to this dish! The service and interior atmosphere was really great at this location, the servers were very attentive and the decor was on point. My one gripe with Oregano's is that they have really skimped out on their chicken, which is really evident when you compare their Chicken Caesar salad and Alfredo in the Dark to their previous versions.
