Nothing spectacular about the food or service. The garlic bread with cheese tasted very bland, just like the breadsticks. Not impressed with their cheese pizza either. There was many spots on the cheese pizza that were missing the cheese. I think that this place is popular simply because it's across the street from the high school. Other than that I don't Think this place would stay in business. I came in on Friday evening around 7 PM to have dinner with some friends and family. My nephew suggested this place. I have not eight here previously and didn't know what to expect dining in. Upon arriving with my three young children went to place my order at the counter and I waited for quite a while to be acknowledged by the young lady that takes the orders. This same thing happened when I went up to ask for a box to take some of the food home in hopes that my kids might eat it later. She blatantly ignored me and carried on a conversation with a coworker while I sit there waiting. So, unfortunately after getting delivery from Barro's for years just about once a week they have outsourced delivery to a third party company. DoorDash I think the person on the phone said. I am NOT gonna pay premiums for a third party company so I am NO LONGER a patron of Barro's. My plan of attack was to order 2 items to eat there and 2 items "to go". The young man that took my order was Quency. I have to say this about him: That young man treated me as though I was "The Man" !!!!! He was so patient with me. I had some relevant questions to ask him and he answered them all with much kindness and understanding ! My two eat-in orders were a medium pepperoni/green olive pizza and their "Fire" traditional wings. Here's a little advice coming from an old fart like me: If you are going to order a pizza and hot/hotter wings, I suggest that you dive into the pizza FIRST !.....Why ? If you indulge in the hot/hotter wings first, you will pretty much numb your taste buds, then you will not appreciate the full flavor profile of the pizza !!! Once again, the pizza was piping hot.....all gooey with cheese and the sauce, crust and toppings just tickled my pie-hole of a mouth !!!! Upon leaving the place, I was given my 2 "to go" items. They were: a 12-inch Italian sub sandwich and a small antipasto salad. During that weekend, I absolutely demolished that sub !! I am telling you....that sub was stuffed with so much meat and veggies that it actually splits open the sub roll !!! And for only $6.25, no other sub shop or pizzeria can even come close to the size of that monster !!! As for the small antipasto salad, the Barro folks absolute stuff as much ingredients as they can into that plastic "clam shell" container !!! Many of my friends dig Barro's Pizza and come here for a weekly lunch as a tradition. So I decided to tag along today to see what the fuss was all about and quite frankly, I'm not that impressed. The hot wing pizza I had was overly greasy and rich. It became the undoing of my stomach lining, causing peptic ulcers left, right, anterior posterior, superior and inferior. There was no end in sight. Like Mordor, my innards became a barren wasteland devoid of life and happiness. As the poison passed through my body, it erupted from me like the fiery lava of Mt. Doom. Even my friends that took me here no longer seem like themselves to me. I can trust them no longer. "Share the load," they keep telling me. The sight of a grown man crying is one of the most difficult to swallow. Gandalf's words kept ringing in my ears, "YOU SHALL NOT PASS!" This Barro's is nothing like most of their restaurants! SO disappointed! The salad bar was really low at noon, and some of the vegetables looked old. The pizza was very only ok! Overall, this place was good and delicious. The quality is worth the wait. I think the associates need to measure the timing right. I was told 15-25 minute wait for pickup. So I showed up at 30 minutes, just in case. But then, I had to wait an additional 25 minutes when I got there. I'm already a fan of Barro's pizza because I like the pizza and they have great lunch specials including a one-trip salad bar. I really love the atmosphere in this new location. There are 180 degrees of windows so it's very open and light. (Probably too light at a few tables on the west side when the sun starts going down, but there are plenty of other places to sit.) Husband and I have been getting this pizza for many years. Always get thin crust; it was always the best and consistent! We ordered tonight and the crust was completely different. It tasted cheap like frozen weight watchers pizza crust. Was really chewy and like soda bread. We called to see if maybe they gave us the wrong crust but the person I spoke with said it had to be thin crust because their regular one was 1 1/2 inches thick. I have never in my life seen pizza crust that thick. She also said she didn't know if they changed the recipe. We are really disappointed and we paid a lot of $ for crap. Customer service sucks. One young employee in particular has a major attitude issue. I come in ask for the items I'd like everything is good I have to wait for the special slice of the day to come out that's fine, I get up to the soda fountain machine and no ice, so I thought it might have needed to be pressed a time or two to get it to drop the ice because some times that's what happens with these machines and then the employee comes around the counter and says it's out of ice it's broken and we're waiting on ice to get here, oh okay that's fine but you should probably tell people that because some of us actually are in a time constraint due to work and don't have time to wait around which also I was okay with to some degree and then I go back to my seat and the employee comes over with my food in a Togo box which I had no intention of eating in 100+ degree weather right now and I wasn't asked so she had assumed I was taking it Togo witch I was also okay with to some degree but then I come around the corner to the soda fountain again and I hear the employee saying something about me being upset about the machine not having ice or something to that degree which I never showed any sign of being upset about anything. it's just sad that you come to a place to have a nice quick little meal and you have an employee representing your establishment that has such a piss poor attitude. We usually like Barros so I took my family over a couple of weeks ago for an evening meal. My daughter is sensitive to gluten, so we ordered a gluten free pizza, regular pizza and wings. Their regular pizza was good as always. The gluten-free however, came out with the crust burned. I tasted the edge of it and it tasted as burned as it looked. I took it back and was told that's just the way it is with gluten-free. Since I ordered meat on the pizza, they had to make sure it was cooked so the crust gets burned. That's it - no offer to make it better, just go ahead and eat it. So I wasn't happy about that, but to make matters a little more annoying, I could hear the teenage server talking to someone in the back (the cook I'm guessing) and making some smart-alec remark about my complaint. That's cool I guess, but FYI - it's a pretty small store and I can hear you out by the cash register Einstein. The wings were OK, but very wet. Oh, and they don't have any wet-wipes, so you just have to go through about 20 disintegrating napkins while eating your wet wings. So, 4 stars overall for the pizza, minus 2 stars for the crappy service and smart-alec high school servers. Usually my family enjoys dining at this location, but ordered delivery Sun March 17th. I was put on hold 3 times when I called. I was asked for my phone number twice and my address 3xs. The delivery guy came missing a ranch, he offered to come back, but I declined since 20 minutes is the round trip. He had no napkins, parm cheese or peppers. He said the store was out.... Ok?? This would be like ordering sushi and there being no soy sauce, wasabi or ginger. These items are staples to the food. I called the store to express my disappointment to a smart ass asst manager. I was told that their delivery was coming the next day and they usually run out of peppers & parm quickly. When I asked why they don't order more at a time, he said he isn't in charge of ordering. He asked 3xs if I wanted the ranch delivered and I told him no 3xs. Never once did he attempt to apologize. I called back Tuesday when the GM Matt Barro was in. He apologized for my experience and stated there was a box of parm & peppers in the store, he would look into the matter and make sure my cc was charged correctly. I asked him to give me a call back, he repeated my phone number and I have yet to hear back... DISAPPOINTING! I would have never ordered if I was told they were out of those items. Love the new location, very beautiful on the inside. Wings are always great. Pizza was great except it wasn't cooked fully near the crust, a bit doughy. Still ate it though The only thing that is very disappointing is that there is never a changing table for babies in the bathroom. Having to wait to change a dirty diaper on your child is very discouraging. I feel like more restaurants need to jump on the diaper changing station wagon.
