I just wanted to update my old review because now they're killing it. I noticed it appears to be all new staff and they make the same delicious food in a very timely manor and have been extremely polite genuine and kind people. So far I've had the cheese pizza which was amazing and I don't even like cheese pizza. I also had the Philly cheesesteak, meatball sub and many variations of wings. All of the food was amazing and the sauces for the wings are delish. Definitely my favorite pizza place again. Killin it! read more

The atmosphere was very welcoming and family friendly. Customer service was a five-star. The wings were crispy. They are covered in a good amount of sauce. But they were just average wings that have had multiple times. A cheese pizza was my least favorite give that a two star. There is more cheese than undercarriage. The sauce wasn't too sweet, which was a plus. The pepperoni I give a three star. It was just OK. Garlic knots were kind of cold and had decent flavor, I'd get that two star for the fact they were cold and three star on flavor. Don's NY Pizza is on the corner end of a strip mall on W Peoria. . Plenty of parking. We came in and were greeted right away. She was taking an order over the phone but told us she would be right with us. It's our first time and we wanted to look at the menu anyway. The restaurant is small. There is table seating available. Interesting, on the menu was a smash burger, and sandwiches/subs they had Carleone, a marinated chicken sub, and Philly cheesesteak. Of course wings too. There is also homemade tiramisu and cheesecake. When we were ready to order, the young lady was so sweet and apologetic for being on the phone. We ended up ordering a medium meat lovers pizza. Loaded with ham, sausage, pepperoni, bacon and cheese and the beef Philly cheesesteak with crinkle fries. While we were waiting for our food, the phone take out orders was busy. The owner, and I'm bad with names brought us our food. We told him that we were new to the area and still trying to find our go to pizza restaurant. There was another pizza not too far from us, but reading the reviews convinced me to choose Don's. He told us he recently bought the restaurant. Him and his family run the restaurant. He was genuinely nice. He guaranteed us that we would enjoy the food. Well we brought it home and couldn't wait to dive in the pizza was loaded with the meat and cheese on a thin crust. I could eat the crust alone. It was gooood! The Philly cheesesteak was on a huge sub/roll also loaded with meat and melted cheese. The first bite, and I agreed with hubby. This was good. Now I'm not an expert on a NY style pizza nor a Philly cheesesteak, but all I could say is. You've got a satisfied customer. When I comeback, I want to try the smash burger. My husband watches Auto shows and he saw a commercial for Dan's New York Pizza in Peoria yelled at me to come look cause the food looked great. We made the decision to go try it out. We could never agree on a Philly steak sandwich this place we both agreed really know how to make a great sandwich. The ranch is totally different and too thick. I had been craving spaghetti for weeks so I found Doda's Pizza based on the stars here in Yelp. I'm glad I did!! This was in a plaza that I have driven past a million times. I would've never guessed such deliciousness would have been located there. We walked in hour before closing and the employees had the place looking pristine. They were kind and offered great suggestions. It reminded me of a good family pizza place it was just a little later in the evening so it was quiet. DO NOT go here if you expect the Dons under the old management!! It is NOTHING like it used to be. Ordered a pizza roll I used to get all the time. It was nothing like a pizza roll; it was three pounds of RAW dough! I initially thought it was mozzarella, but it had no taste. I then realized it was all a blob of uncooked dough! Ranch dressing was store bought crap; not the stuff they used to make. Husband said the garlic bread with cheese only had a small amount of the obviously cheap mozzarella they use now. Went to Don's NY Pizza earlier this week and it was super delicious the Cheese was very nice and tasty, salty and savory ... had the 14" pepperoni and sausage.. it was perfect... the crust was light and airy.. had the house salad as well - it was fresh and crisp.. you can tell they use fresh heads of lettuce instead of the bag kind places use to save money! I will say I will definitely go back for more.. can wait to try their sandwiches - hot and cold... ps.. I've been trying to come to this place for a while now, so glad I went. Since my last review, ownership has changed. While the quality of the pizza is still excellent, the delivery service has taken a hit. For reference, I live less than 5 minutes away from this location. Since the change, I've had an order be forgotten; I've had orders arrive extremely late (one almost an hour and a half late); and last time, my order arrived cold. The owner replaced the pizza and gave us a free bottle of soda with his apologies, and we gave them one more chance today. We were told 20 minutes, only for it to arrive 30 minutes past that time (due to the brand new driver getting lost). It wasn't hot, but warm enough to be appetizing. I really don't know what's going on with my favorite pizza place, but I'm really considering starting to make pizza at home from now on. read more

Ordered the slice and wings lunch combo, with a soda, plus added a side salad. If you're looking for good NY style pizza, their name and food deliver 100%. Twice in a row the pizza was below subpar for the price. $4 for each topping and there were literally like 10 sliced black olives, less than that with soggy (obviously not fresh) green peppers, and a Caesar salad (small) that was barely enough for a 10 year old. I used to love this place because it gave me a taste of home and is the closest NY style pizza that actually tatted good since Tocci's closed. The girl that helped me out was named Chloe and she was amazing and very understanding when I told her about my olive allergy and made sure the cooks knew that as well for my salad. We ordered a spread for the 2 of us because we eat like every day is our birthday. This little family-run place is near a Planet Fitness & ice cream shop. There's lots of parking. We dined inside. The seating is a little spaced out. They have Pepsi products for beverages. The food came out very quickly and was very hot. The fried zucchini was pretty standard with other places that have fried zucchini. No surprises and it was what I expected. The baby loved the garlic knots. The dough was fluffier than some places with garlic knots. Texturally it is very pleasing. I could handle a little more garlic flavor and salt/butter on it and then they would be perfect. I ordered the spicy chicken Alfredo and the garlic knots and side salad came with it. The salad was a fairly standard house side salad except I wasn't expecting olives. They probably had it listed somewhere and I wasn't paying attention. The ranch was not just squeezed out of a hidden valley bottle, so that was nice. It was thinner than some places with ranch but it's salad dressing so I really don't have a preference, except I wouldn't want it weirdly thick. The spicy chicken Alfredo was not spicy at all for me. I was hoping for more. The sauce kind of tasted like there was coconut milk in it, which I didn't really like that much. Idk if there was coconut milk but that's how my brain associated it. There was sausage and chicken as well as red onion and green peppers. I like meat so that was a nice surprise. Normally I don't go for Alfredo sauce but I saw another review that it was good so I thought I'd step outside of my normal food pattern. Nah bruh. It wasn't my favorite. (It wasn't "gross" it just wasn't what I was looking for in an Alfredo sauce.) And to be fair, it's possible they didn't hear me say "spicy" because I was speaking quieter than I normally do. Now for the pizza, we took it home, but the box was so big it didn't fit in either of my fridges. So it was a HUGE pizza. The crust was thin and couldn't handle the weight of the toppings. It was good, def not "the best" but definitely not "the worst". I felt like the pizza sauce was missing something, maybe some oregano. Toppings were generous. Four stars bc the workers were really friendly. The baby even said it to me too. They have tiramisu and I didn't order it and now I wish I did. We wanted some pasta and no cooking was happening on our end so we called up Dons for a pickup order. The guy that answered was super friendly and our order was ready within 15 minutes. The price is the pastas and the amount of food you get is an awesome deal. You get a side salad loaded with goodies and 4 garlic knots per meal. We got spaghetti with meat sauce and spaghetti with sausage. There was lots of garlic which we love and plenty of sauce for the pasta. Now this isn't gourmet Italian food but it satisfied the craving and everyone loved it! We have had the pizza from here in the past which was good as well.
