Typical lunch day stopped at one of my favorite pizza places for couple quick slices. As I walked in the employee was cleaning off tables and instantly told me it would be just a few mins. After about 5mims she came in took my order grabbed a plate for my pizza and my utensils without washing her hands. I asked her if she could wash her hands, which she did with attitude. She proceeded to make comments like I have to multi task and asked me if I've ever multi tasked. In short the service was bad today but the pizza was great. read more

I want to start by saying I have always likes Barro's Pizza. However lately they have not been consistent at all. At least the location in Ahwatukee off of Ray Rd and 40th St. I have been there 3 times since new year's Eve and they have messed up on my order everytime. Everytime I do a pick up, not a delivery and even this last time they admitted they messed up on both of my pizzas and asked me if I would like it fixed and I told them no, because I already waited an hour and a half to get my food and I didn't want to wait any longer. So a few days go by and I go to balance my check book to notice that once again, as they have done the same before, they charged me for a delivery fee of $2.50. Once again they have done this again for a 2nd time and I have always picked up my orders. I have never done there delivery, simply because they charge a delivery fee and there right down the street from my house. This was on top of the food mess up. Nothing but a bad experience from this location. I've had Barro's before and it was really good. I'm not sure if was just an off night but I'm hesitant to return to this location. I placed an order on their app and it took 90 minutes to be ready. I sat and waited and was told by staff "10 minutes" numerous times. The food was less than desirable. 24 chicken wings that should have been extra crispy were super slimy. The pizza was mediocre. I'm willing to give them another try only because I had a good experience at a different location. read more

I ordered two kids meals online and was told 25 minutes for pick up. I show up 25 minutes later and I am told my order is not ready and it would be another 10 minutes because it is in the oven. No problem, I can understand an extra 10 minutes. After 20 minutes I ask about my order again and get told it will be another two minutes in the oven. So if it's been 20 minutes already that my order is supposedly in the oven, I'm pretty sure it is burnt by this point if that is the truth of the status of my order. This was for a kids spaghetti and meatballs and a kids pepperoni garlic bread. They did offer to give me a free 2 L of soda, that was ridiculous. I waited for five more minutes and then requested my money back and as soon as I did, magically my order was ready. I took the refund and the food, but I will never return. At 6:30 the girl at the counter asked me for my name again and then grabbed my pizza out of the counter oven where it was staying warm. I said to the girl behind the counter that that pizza had been there for over 10 minutes, she responded with "I know". No apologies. No discount offered for future orders or 2 liters of soda like she promised previous upset guests before me. This place is a disaster. The girl behind the counter even told one gentleman that she recognized him from before as having had bad service so for him this was two times in a row for him. Great pizza! Not sure how much of a "chain" this place is but I've never heard of it outside of Arizona. This is typically our go-to pizza place. We don't ever order Domino's or Pizza Hut since you can get better quality food here for the same price or less. A large pepperoni is usually $11-12. Their wings are pretty good but theyre heavy with the sauce. Its usually overwhelming and I actually stay away from them now. But they're very large in size which could be a plus for those looking for more for their money. Service is great, we order ahead and pick up or even get delivery. The wait time is almost always 45 minutes to an hour. read more

I've only had their regular pepperoni pizza and their wings, and I have yet to be disappointed with the food. The sauce is delicious and the pizza has always been cooked to perfection. They can definitely get pretty busy, though, so if you're placing a to-go order on one of their busier nights, you might need to wait an extra 10-15 minutes on top of the estimated time that they give you when you place your order online or over the phone. This place can also get super packed with kids since they have a game room in the back, so if you don't want to hear a bunch of screaming and yelling, you should probably get your food to go like me. My wife and I decided to try Barro's Pizza. We'd never ordered from them before, but looked at their menu and thought their sandwiches looked pretty good. We called to order and everything went smooth. I ordered, 2 HOT Italian sandwiches with a dzn Wings! Simple order, how could you screw that up? We made this order at 11:40 am on Saturday. We were told it would be an hour! No problem, they're covering their ass! I get it! Yet it took 1:20 mins to have it delivered. The sandwiches were actually pretty good, as were the wings. We'd have enjoyed them much more if our food were HOT, like we ordered it. I understand being busy! But 1:20 mins for 2 sandwiches and wings? What's sad is, I live less than 2 miles from Barro's pizza location. You'd think the food would stay hot for that distance, huh? I may give them another chance as everybody has a bad day. Great pizza! But man we had some bad customer service recently. We received our pizzas and all of our toppings had slid off and we're on one side of the pizza and hanging off the edge of the crust, I'm assuming from being at an angle during the drive. We tried to call and Austin told us it was our fault because we asked for extra sauce on one of our pizzas and because since they tried so hard to get it to us quickly the pizza toppings were not set in place yet. This is incredibly disappointing as both pizzas were ruined(not just the one with the extra sauce) and the pizzas did not arrive any quicker than the average pizzas that we order from this location. I should mentioned after we insisted on the phone that the pizza was unsatisfactory he did finally offer us a small discount. We hope this is something that gets addressed because we intend to still come to the restaurant we usually have a fine experience, but we really hope to see change. read more

2-3 Stars-- We visit this location often. Their GF pizza is not good and very expensive. I would not recommend the Gluten Free pizza. However, their regular pizzas are pretty good. This place drives me nuts. The staff is so blase about their job and service. Twice the have not honored the prices advertised on their menu. First time was for specials on a separate board. I was told it was passed time. Okay, fine even though nothing states that. Next time they charged me almost double what the menu listed as the price for beer. When I questioned it I was told the prices had changed. Um, don't you have to change the menu on the wall then to reflect that? Have had the pizza, gluten free pizza, wings and ravioli. They are all fine. The cheese garlic bread and cookie dessert are my favorite menu items though. The family and I love this place. The pizza is fantastic, they load on the toppings. Definitely try the Chicken Supreme. You won't be disappointed.
