Pizzeria Bianco is my all time favorite pizza place in Arizona! I have been here many times, and every single time I enjoy it immensely. I always get their Sunny Boy pizza and add mushrooms on top, and it is perfection. The location I usually go to is the one in downtown Phoenix, and it is always super busy on the weekends, so be prepared to wait a couple of hours. This time I went on a weekday though, and there was no wait, which was so nice! The service is always great. Everyone is super kind and attentive. The ambiance is so fun too. It has this little quaint vibe, plus there's outdoor seating which makes it a really fun experience. Fair warning though, outdoor seating can get super hot during Arizona summers. Overall, the food is amazing. It really tastes like authentic Italian pizza. I also highly recommend the antipasto, but it is only available in the afternoon, so if you go for lunch it will not be on the menu. They change it up all the time, and they even have a fresh garden in the back. It is definitely my favorite dish there! read more

I knew the food was going to be good when I should up 10 minutes before they opened and the line was already long (on a Monday). As soon as the door opened those of us in line essentially filled up all the tables inside the restaurant. The service was great considering every table was sat at the same time. Fantastic experience from start to finish. Came here with a coworker for dinner. The pizzas are customizable, but everything off the menu looks amazing too. Traditional neapolitan style crust baked in a wood fire oven. The dough is soft and crispy at the same time. I ordered the Rosa pizza with an olive oil base, parmesan, red onion, and pistachio. Great flavor! Service is very friendly and attentive. My coworker ordered a pizza with sausage on it and another pepperoni pizza to go. Started with local organic greens salad. Was good, fresh but a bit salty and dry, came with olives which were good. Also shared 2 pizzas with my friend, the margarita and marinera. The marinera came with garlic and no cheese. That was good. We added mushrooms and olives. The ingredients for fresh but the pizzas were a bit bland flavor-wise. We first discovered this pizzeria on Chef's Table on Netflix, and when we planned a road trip to New Mexico, we decided to make a stop in Arizona just to try it. It was absolutely worth it. We were truly impressed, and we especially loved the Rosa pizza it was incredible. In fact, we loved it so much that we now make our own version at home all the time! The wait was about two hours, but we completely understood because the place was very busy and they don't take reservations. We had heard a lot about Pizzeria Bianco, from both locals and all the media attention that it has gotten. We had tried to visit before, but encountered long waits and left. We lucked out this time. We were seated inside right away. We weren't that hungry, so we ordered two pizzas for the three of us--a Biancoverde and a Margherita. They were both yummy, although I thought the price was high. I will say that I have a real love affair with other Bianco restaurants--Pane Bianco is AH-MAY-ZING, and so is Tratto. This place definitely comes in third for me. read more

Came in for dinner and had to wait about 40 minutes, but don't worry, next door is Bar Bianco which is in a cute little house! First off this place is super small and we opted to sit outside, but not a big deal when you're in Phoenix and it's 68 at 8pm in February lol! We ordered an app: antipasto and also had the mozzarella salad which was amazing and apologies I didn't get any pics, was too busy eating haha! The roasted veggies are so amazing and literally some of the best I have had, simple yet so good! We then ordered the pizza: wiseguy, margarita, and the sonny boy. Now, you have heard of wood fire, but these pies are next level with flavor and perfection. Service was friendly and the star of the show was this big fluffy cat. Every foodie has to make this pizza pilgrimage at least once, and it's 100% worth the wait. The pizza is incredible, as is the antipasto. Get both! My only gripe was the timing of the courses. I was told I HAD to come here while in Phoenix, and while I enjoyed the pizza, I don't think you're committing any sort of crime if you skip this stop. I had a Margherita pizza for $22, which came out to almost $30 after tax and tip. Personally, I think that's a little crazy for a small, 1 person pizza! This was the best wood fired pizza I've had, but not by miles, and I wouldn't pay that much to have it a second time. There's often also a long wait here - I avoided it by going early and alone, and watched many people get turned away while I ate. Overall, I'm glad I tried this place and give it 5 stars for an excellent meal. However, I still think it's overhyped and wouldn't say it's a phoenix essential. read more

Pizzeria Bianco came highly recommended. First, the really good...the farmers market salad. The vinaigrette made the salad - it was spinach, apples, raisins, nuts and goat cheese. The service was adequate. Not really friendly. Not unfriendly. Very matter-of-fact. Didn't ask if we'd been there before, didn't suggest anything, answered questions we asked. But in a disinterested way. The pizzas - Sonny Boy and Wiseguy. Sonny boy was extremely greasy from the salami. And the olives were bunched in just one area mainly. I could've gone with a lighter touch on the meat to offset the grease and a better treatment of the olives. But the crust was amazing. The Wiseguy was ok - sausage was dry, sauce not very flavorful. I think the sentiment at the table was that it was overall ok - but not up to the hype we'd been told. Exceptional service helps overcome average food - and unfortunately that was not our experience. I finally tried Pizzeria Bianco - five stars! We dropped in for a weekday lunch, and as expected, there was a short wait. Luckily, their neighboring bar-in a restored home-has a fully bar (but not many inventive non-alc options). We went across the way to a Mexican eater for Topos and iced teas. First available seating was outside, and the weather was perfect. We started with Farmers Market Salad-which was a mediterranean-style salad with cucumbers, olives, feta, and lovely EVOO dressing-along with the Local Greens Salad with balsamic vinaigrette, and bianco bread with said lovely EVOO for dipping. For the 'zas, we got the Rosa made with red onion, parm, rosemary, and pistachio. Inventive! though the table favorite was the Bianco Verde with fresh mozz, parm, ricotta, and arugula. I'm more of a margarita gal, so I wish I would have tried that one too. The bread was perfection-chewy, crispy where necessary, and again, that EVOO. Just top quality ingredients. Now, would I wait hours for this pie? No. It's great, but I'd rather go during non-peak hours and wait 20 min for a table 45 max. read more

I have never had an item here that I didn't love. We go often after trips the science museum next door. The problem is we can't come on the weekends due to very long lines. We love the margarita-(Tomato sauce, Fresh Mozzarella, Basil) and the Rosa (Red Onion, Parmigiano Reggiano, Rosemary, AZ Pistachios). We also love the Sonny boy (Tomato Sauce, Fresh Mozzarella, Salami, Gaeta Olives). If you opt for the BIANCOVERDE (Fresh Mozzarella, Parmigiano Reggiano, Ricotta, Arugula), I highly recommend adding prosciutto to it. Expect long lines due to the small space, but of course that's because it's inside of heritage square and space is limited. But that's one of the charming aspects of dining here. read more

I'm from New York, so I'm used to the fanfare that comes with getting good pizza (Lucali I'm looking at you). No matter what time you arrive here, you're looking at a wait. I've been one of the first on line when it opens. I've come here at 3 pm thinking the rush is done. There is no gaming the system here. Come here prepared to wait. On my most recent visit we were quoted around an hour wait time, and decided to head over to their bar next door. The bartender at said bar is super nice, but can't make a cocktail to save his life. My aperol spritz was flat. My hugo spritz had none of the hugo spritz components it should come with. These drinks were not only disappointing but also not cheap. Finally though, our table was ready and we made it to the bar seats at Pizzeria Bianco. We ordered the Rosa which is a must, and the Biancoverde. The Rosa is topped with pistachios, red onion and rosemary. It's a delicious white pie. The Biancoverde, also a white pie, was good as well. The fresh arugula cuts through the ricotta and mozzarella. Ambiance wise it's kind of industrial on the inside, made cozy by the warm glow of the visible brick pizza oven. If you're in Phoenix, want pizza and have time to wait, this is the spot. read more

I found Pizzeria Bianco on some reels when looking for wood fired pizza. It looked good so we decided to give it a try. I liked the bar next door and the courtyard where you enjoy your beverage while waiting for your table. I knew the wait could be long so the 30 minutes or so didn't bother me. The host said it would be about 40 minutes but it was shorter. In our opinion the wait was worth it. The margherita style pizza to which we added mushrooms was delicious. The crust was crispy and tasty. It's in an old brick building so it can get a bit noisy with sound bouncing all around. The servers were helpful with the menu and getting food to us on time. Netflix made me do it. Cons: Parking is a headache. Walk-ins only. Huge line outside for lunch and dinner. Minimal seating. They seat like 10 parties at at time. Never been here without a wait for peak times. God forbid you have to wait--the rule is: You have 5 or 10 minutes to get to the restaurant with your full party once you get the text. That would be fine if you could kill time in the area. Not much to do nearby, so a lot of people just end up hanging out near the children's museum. The guy from Netflix isn't there either. Pros: Pizza is unique and tastes good. Favorites are the Wiseguy with onion, mozz, and fennel sausage and the Rosa - a rosemary/parm pizza with pistachios. After years and years of hearing about this place I finally went with some family. I really don't understand the hype. The pizza comes out dry and crunchy. It reminded me of Lavosh. Our table tried 3 pizzas: margherita, wise guy and the pistachio one. The only one that had red sauce was the margherita one. The best way to describe would be paper thin, crunchy crust with minimal toppings. They have 5 pizzas to choose from and only 2 green salads to choose from. Not a lot of selection. Quite pricey for what you get. Make sure you go right when they open or you will wait for hours because it is very small. We ended up parking in a garage and they said they would validate, but they only covered $14/20. If you're looking for a traditional pizza and to be "full" when you leave, this isn't the place. read more

IMO Neapolitan pizza is the best pizza. This Bianco location is a charming little building located in downtown Phoenix. If you look hard enough you can find street parking nearby. When we got there in the evening the place was very busy, but we were able to get a table immediately. I loved the warm atmosphere and still life paintings on the wall. We ordered two pizzas (they are roughly medium sized) and had lots to take home. The pizza was cooked like I would expect a Neapolitan pizza to be with a bubbly crust and some charring. I would recommend either of the appetizers - they are delicious, however it's easy to get full on bread which comes out too. I could easily see myself returning! Like many others, I first heard about Pizzeria Bianco through Chef's Table on Netflix, so naturally, my expectations were sky-high. The location itself is really cute and inviting, but be prepared to pay for valet parking since there isn't much available nearby. Luckily, we came around 3:30 p.m. on a Tuesday and didn't have to wait. However if you do, there's a bar next door owned by Pizzeria Bianco, which makes the wait a little easier. Service was decent, maybe a 7/10. Not the friendliest, but our server checked in regularly, so no complaints there. We ordered the Wiseguy, the Margherita, and a custom pizza with mushrooms, sausage, and garlic. Each one had great flavor, but the standout for me was the Wiseguy. I wasn't sure what to expect since it doesn't have any sauce, but the smoky, rich combination of onions, cheese, and sausage ended up being my favorite. The red sauce on the other pizzas was outstanding!!! It's tangy, balanced, and clearly made with care. The basil tasted super fresh, and the crust had that perfect char without tasting burnt. My only critique is that the pizzas are so thin that the center gets a bit soggy, so the toppings tend to slide off when you pick up a slice. Personally, I prefer a slightly thicker crust, but that's likely just a matter of individual preference. Overall, it's a great spot for high-quality, wood-fired pizza and absolutely worth a visit if you're a fan of artisanal pies. Just manage expectations a bit if you've seen the hype. read more

The bottom 3 pizzas on the menu are sauceless. The rosa pizza was good and something different - no sauce and very crispy. The sonny boy was a disappointment as when it arrived at our table the crust was already super soggy and falling apart. It was also quite greasy. The wait was around 20 minutes but we did come in right after a thunderstorm so that could've affected people going out to eat. We were in Phoenix for a Diamondbacks game and we had to stop in here for some pizza. We came on a busy Friday night around 6:45 and were told there would be a 2 hour wait, which we were fine with. We had some cocktails in the local area and we received a text that our table was ready after an hour and 45 minutes. We ordered a Margherita, a Marinara + pepperoni and cheese, and a Wiseguy + tomato sauce. I didn't try the Margherita, but my son liked it. The pepperoni pizza was awesome, dough, sauce, cheese all on point, and maybe the best pepperoni I have ever had on a wood fired crust. The Wiseguy was good, but the sausage and the onions were both on sweet side for me. Plus the toppings on the Wiseguy were a bit much for the pizza. The service and ambience were spot on. This was recommended to me by a local, and boy did he undersell it! It's a cute little restaurant with about 13 tables (forgive me if I miscount!) and a six top bar. No reservations or take out and I see why. I went on a Tuesday afternoon and had no wait. Dave was at the bar where I sat and he was engaging and his laughter was wonderful. It's lovely to see people enjoying themselves while working. I ordered the Wiseguy exactly how the chef created it (no red sauce) and it changed my perception of pizza. The wood fired pizza had an amazing char on it that elevated the flavor of the mozzarella and sausage. My only desire would have been a bit of char on the onion, but I recognize that as a personal taste. read more

Let's start with the dough, thin crispy, slightly sour perfectly salted. The dough has an amazing depth of flavor! Now let's talk about their topping combinations. The wise guy pizza was phenomenal smoked fennel sausage super tasty. You can taste the smoke, taste the fennel with caramelized onions to add a little bit of sweetness. The Rosie pizza was super interesting pistachios red onions, and the cheese tasted like really good Parmesan very nutty and savory. The marinera pizza was also really tasty. The sauce was sweet with a little bit of garlic flavor from the sliced pieces of garlic they put on top. read more

The little gem and the market salad were both crisp and very flavorful. We tried all 4 of the homemade pastas which were hearty and delicious. The pizzas were all divine and the vibrant flavors of the blancoverde and the rosa stole the show. We had some excellent red and white wines to accompany everything and left no room for desert! Being a local I know how hard it is to get in here so my friend and I decided to go in the summer at 5pm which we were seated right away! The spiedini is super yummy! Just some meat and cheese but of course that's delicious. The margherita pizza is top 10. Perfectly thin and crispy crust. Great flavor. The sauce is robust and all the cheese and basil is super fresh. The wise guy is good but I suprisingly think it could've used a bit more salt. I also wasn't a fan of the Smokey flavor but that's just a personal preference. The sausage was good but I think crumbled would've been my preference. The chocolate chip cookies are absolutely insane!! Highly recommend grabbing them to go. My boyfriend said it was one of the best he's ever had with the sea salt. I will absolutely return and try more of the red sauce based pizzas. read more

I have been to this Pizzeria Bianco location twice, once many moons ago and most recently this past week. They don't take reservations, take out and have some specific rules, such as all pizza must be ordered at one time, you aren't able to add pizza's later. They do have a next door space that offers wines and beverages while waiting, a very useful concept and extension of the restaurant, but there are a few other great spots in the are, not to mention the Science museum and Children's museum if you are able to put your name down first and have a longer wait. The place is intimate, but honestly adds to the appeal and is in a beautiful historical brick building. They offer indoor and outdoor seating. My first visit, our friends HAD to go to the OG location and at any cost, even though they had been previously, so we waited three hours to be seated. It was a great meal, but I am not sure three hours wait worth it. I'd rather visit their secondary location in Uptown. My most recent visit, we went in the middle of the week and just had to wait 15 minutes or so, absolutely worth it. I've tried the following: Spiedini - Fontina wrapped in prosciutto Farmers Market Salad - Tomatoes, cucumbers, onions with croutons Organic Greens - Exactly as it sounds For Pizza: Classic Margherita Rosa - Red Onion, Parmigiano Reggiano, Rosemary and Pistachios Biancoverde - Mozzarella, Parmigiano Reggiano, Ricotta and Arugula Wiseguy - Onion, House Smoked Mozzarella, Fennel Sausage The Wiseguy and Biancoverde are my personal favorites. Along with the market salad and spiedini. Pizza's range from $18-26 with option to add on a few toppings for $4-6. They also serve bread with oil at the table, but it's nothing special I have also had their flourless chocolate cake, which is nice, but they also offer rice pudding, lemon cookies, chocolate chip cookies, but I'd love to see some cannolis or tiramisu personally. The food is very good, service is friendly and very systematic, which with the traffic, I am sure they have to be. I think it's a great spot, but I don't think its worth waiting hours for and though it's delicious I do think there are some comparable spots in the valley. read more

I've been waiting years to go to Pizzeria Bianco. I don't live in the area but I've heard about this pizzeria from all the food shows. So, now I found myself in Phoenix within walking distance. The location is a fairly small place with maybe a dozen tables max and a large pizza oven. I think the service was awful... like Seinfeld's Soup Nazi awful. The staff all seem to be hipster stuckup and unwelcoming. For 20-26 bucks for a personal sized pizza, I expect nicer attitudes. Onto the food. I ordered the pizza that had the fennel sausage. I don't recall the name. The pizza was tasty but not mind blowing. I think this may have been a revolutionary pie when Chef Bianco started and it was just junk pies from Dominoes. Now, many local places ferment their dough and use similar ovens (at least in LA). Would I go back? I wouldn't fly to Arizona just for it. If I was in town and it was convenient, sure. The service was really a turn off. A bit pricey but you're paying for the history. If I go back, I'm trying the one with pistachios. Maybe I'll try a different location. read more

Tried pizzeria Bianca last night for incredible pizza! I ordered margarita and the Rosa. First of all, people who tried the Rosa pizza and did not like it, must have taste buds of a child. The Rosa pizza is incredible! It's cheese, rosemary, pistachio, onion, and it's just a super delicious combination. Definitely order this! The Margherita is what you expect with really delicious sauce and chewy crust. It was banging. If you go, I recommend getting an olive oil base pizza and a tomato sauce based pizza so you can try the difference. Crust is just delicious! For dessert, I got the flourless chocolate cake, and it was so rich! Two people can definitely split a piece. It is just like a dense chocolate bomb - very good! I came on an off night and was seated right away at the bar. It's a small space so be prepared to wait on busy nights. I did valet my car which is now $10. You can pay by card and also add a tip. I guess this area has a few well-behaved stray cats that are fed and taken care of by businesses. I saw three adorable cats on my visit! I was even able to pet the one in the photo. So cute! The reputation of this place is high, so will the expectations be met? Came on a triple digit summer, lucky it wasn't too long a wait, hostess said 30-40' but we lucked out and only 10'. One can go to the bar Bianco next door to chill on the triple digit days or wander to the Museum next door till the text of your table availability. Small, cozy interior with but one oven, probably explains why they don't expand, keep it small the lines and waits long and make people wilt in the Phoenix summers for the opportunity of eating in a Netflix featured restaurant, LOL. The Margarita basic was amazing, crust and toppings were perfect. Minus one star for the valet, he extorted 10 buck from us!! A little steep, one can park for less and walk 3-5' in the scorching sun.
