I tried Via Della's about three years ago and they were the bomb! The wife and I decided to try it again because we just wanted a good pizza. The last place we tried was disappointing. We ordered a couple of sodas and the same slices we ordered last time, pepperoni and vodka slices. The slices were delivered in no time! They were hot and crispy! I don't know what happened, but the quality just wasn't there. I could not taste the sauce on my pizza. It was non existent. It was like eating pizza bread with cheese and pepperoni. The Vodka pizza had no detectable sauce on it either. It also tasted just like cheese bread. I don't know if its because of different pizza makers or the new standard, but I was disappointed. Cute little slice shop in downtown. About $5-6 per slice. They have about 7 different slices to choose from and seemed to all be novelty flavors and toppings. You can also get a whole pie of your choice. They grate fresh parm on all the slices which I thought was a nice touch. The girl at the register seemed very knowledgeable about all the pizzas and gave us lots of details and recommendations which we appreciated. First we got the green, di Parma, and the Phoenix. The green has pistachios and fresh arugula on it, I thought the overall flavor was too sweet and the pistachios weren't crush enough. The Phoenix was good, very honey forward and overall the flavor didn't stick out to me. The di Parma was a cheese pizza with procuttio and ricotta, overall a little plain to me. I think they all would've tasted better hot, but I understand that's not super realistic for a slice shop. For our second order we got the vodka sauce slice, which was for sure my favorite. First of all it was piping hot, and that elevated the whole experience. I thought the sauce was so flavorful and savory, and the basil made a perfect bite. I would go back for a whole pie of this! I really wish that I had a different experience, but Via just did not do it for me :( My pizza was soggy. It did not pass the flop test. Not even close. Had to hold it up with two hands. And I ate it right away in my car, so it wasn't sitting. Idk if it was due to how they reheated the slices or if my slices had just been there for too long, but it was super underwhelming. That said, the white pizza was def my fave as far as flavor, and the sesame seeds were a great touch! The Caesar salad dressing was also really, really good! And the salad had lots of croutons. But for 15 bucks I wouldn't get it again. It was 90% lettuce. My other gripe was definitely the parking. There are a few free spaces in the front, but the lot in the back must be paid for and it only has 6- or 12- hour options. It was like $11 to park - basically the same price as 2 slices of pizza! I risked it all and did not pay which gave me anxiety lol. Not their fault at all but parking totally sucks. Pricing of the food is my final thought - for 2 slices and the salad it was almost $30 with tip. That's a lot for a meal just for me! I read that they're using really good quality ingredients and I am a big fan of that and willing to pay for it, but in this case, the flavor of everything just didn't add up to the cost. read more

This place was across the street from our hotel and it was late but they were still open so we decided to grab a slice. It was one hour before closing so there wasn't a huge selection of slices in the display case. The grandma style with pepperoni seemed to be the freshest so we ordered two of those. The girl behind the counter was nice and quick to take our order. Our slices were delivered after a quick heat up in the oven and they were hot and tasty! Topped off with fresh hand torn basil and freshly grated Parmesan. They bright the pizza up our table and honestly looking at the pizza even though it just came "out " it looked like it had been sitting all day it just did not look like fresh pizzas. They all looked so similar that when they gave us the pizzas my husband couldn't tell between the spicy sausage and the Phoenix because they look pretty similar. They both had spicy honey on them. One just had a little bit more decoration and that's how I noticed which one was which, but when they set it down, he could have explained to us, which was which Pizza!. I feel like the menu could have had a description of what was on the pizzas. My husband did not know that the spicy sausage and pepperoni was going to have honey on it or else he would have ordered it without that so the ingredients of the pizza if they're adding something so different like that should be on the menu. We got two orders of wings equating like 18-20 they gave two ranch and washed to charge for an extra. Now with that many wings and two separate orders you would think that each basket would come with 2 sides each at least!! The vibe in there was cool but a little dim, the positioning of the TV was not accommodating to guests! The restroom was not very clean. But the music was good!! 10/10 casual pizza place if you want a quick grab. Each slice was about $5.50 and huge! My favorite was the vodka slice, as a vodka pasta lover, this HIT! The crust was nice and thin and crispy throughout the slice. Every slice that I got was so good but definitely recommend the vodka one. We had to wait a bit for the pepperoni slice since they were out at the time, but it was only a 10 min wait and we were in no rush so it was great. I highly recommend coming here for a quick bite with friends. I also heard their wings are really good, so I will be trying that next time, and getting that vodka slice. read more

What a great place to kickback, unwind and enjoy an outside and inside of you. The pizza is only five dollars per slice and it's absolutely delicious. They have a whole menu and assirtion of choices to choose from. My girlfriend and I grabbed a seat outside, and we had a server and didn't even know it. She was so kind dropped our food off after ordering and asked us if we need anything else. Water was self served, which was also pretty convenient. This is my favorite pizza and wing spot in the entire valley. The pizza has a crisp you just don't find anywhere else, and the wings follow suit with that same great texture. Everything is packed with flavor, and their house-made ranch is a standout--you can tell right away it's not bottled. The only downside is that they don't have ice, so I usually make a quick stop at a nearby McDonald's to grab some. Small trade-off for how good everything else is. The largest pizza they offer can easily feed a family and is well worth it. The white pizza is excellent, and the honey hot and golden BBQ wings are both must-tries. Just a heads up--they do sell out on some days, so don't expect to walk in right before closing and still get what you want. This is a great place for quick lunch in the DT area. Slices make it really easy to try different combinations of pizza and order comes very quickly. Every slice (5-6) I've tried so far has been very delicious and there's lot of vegetarian options (arugula and pistachio I think might be their best combination). Service is pretty quick. read more

They have the available slices up near the register sitting in a case as they come out and it sounds like generally if there are no slices of that variety showing in the window by the register, then it's not available to order. They were out of the vodka pizza when we went, which is the one I wanted to try, but both of the other pieces I got were really good so I didn't care. The pieces were large, thin, and with a perfectly crusty bottom that also had a little chew. I got a slice of the white pizza (Via's White Sauce, Mozzarella, Caramelized Onion Jam, Fresh Basil, Parmigiano Reggiano with a Sesame Seed Crust) and the Phoenix (Red Sauce, Mozzarella, Spicy Sopressata, Pickled Red Peppers, Homemade Hot Honey, Fresh Basil, Parmigiano Reggiano). I can't even decide which was my favorite because I liked them both no liked the savory rich flavor of the white pizza and the sweet spicy and deep flavor of the Phoenix. I always take reviews with a grain of salt, however, everyone raves about the pizza here so hubby and decided to five this place a try, since we live downtown. So here is my review. Upon entering the guy at the register was not very engaging and you could tell he did not give a crap about anything. When I saw the pictures of this pizza, it made me think of the famous one bite pizza guy! Sure, enough, if you Google search "one bite pizza guy and Phoenix," this place, definitely pops up! So I definitely had to try it! And I am so glad I did! We literally got one slice of each pizza and split it in half. The slices were so good! I didn't anticipate myself liking the White pizza as much as I did! I knew I would love the phoenix! The spicy pizza was a little bit too spicy for my friend to eat (but still good!) But the undercarriage of the pizza was nice and thin, but enough to hold the pizza up structurally. I love how simple some of their pizzas are because it makes you focus on the ingredients. The service was quick and fast. The only downside to me was the bathrooms. The key was connected to a pizza spatula(?) and it is so big that it is difficult to really use. But overall, the dining was very chic! I would highly recommend anyone who is wanting a New York style pizza to come here. Ever since I had this pizza in November, I still haven't been able to stop thinking about it and nothing has topped it in Texas yet! I might need to go back to AZ to get this pizza! read more

My husband has been raving about Via Della for months now... He has been several times and absolutely loves it. The kids too! So when he suggested Via Della for dinner last night, I was all about it. We drove downtown with our daughter, parked in the adjacent lot, and headed in... There was a short line, which gave me time to look at the menu and the pizzas in the case and decide what to order. I went with a square slice of the Deep Dish Grandma Style Pepperonata - it had a creamy red pepper sauce, sausage, and basil. It was good but it didn't blow my mind. My husband went with a traditional slice of pepperoni and another with just cheese, and my daughter had a slice of just cheese. We also shared a Caesar Salad that was made to order but pretty basic. I think in the future, I'd go with a full pie made to order and hope that when you get it right out of the oven, it will add that extra star. In the meantime, you can't go wrong if you want some pizza in the downtown area with a cool vibe. There is limited indoor and outdoor seating. Enjoy. read more
