I heard that Barry's was just another version of Orange theory from some friends, I got there and that's what I expected. While I think to a degree that assessment may be on point, there are some notable differences. 1. Barry's made me feel very genuinely welcome, right from the front desk. Everyone wanted to make sure I understood how things worked and were there to guide me through it every step of the way. 2. I had a cute welcome letter waiting for me on my treadmill. 3: I liked how their strength area was only a few feet from the cardio, making the transition extremely quick 4: the instructor had a full class but still managed to notice when I was confused. 5: in most gyms when you're really fat you feel judged but in this one I had many people walk up to me saying things like good job etc, The experience was really great, wish we had one of these in New Mexico.

Super fun and challenging workout!! Burned so many calories and it goes quick! Prepare to get ur butt kicked by the running but overall felt great to really get my heart rate up. Great music too!

I had tried Barry's once in Seattle and I didn't necessarily loved it however this time I liked it way more. Maybe because I knew what to expect. I liked the instructor Sammy - she brought the energy. It's definitely an intense and fast paced workout but you can modify to your fitness level. This studio unlike the Seattle studio doesn't have showers which is not a deal breaker for me but I know some people like to workout before they go to work so a shower would be ideal. This studio also doesn't offer a smoothie bar like Seattle. Front desk staff was friendly. Parking was good which is important for me.

There's nothing better than being with a gym so long you get to experience all the growth that…read morecomes with it! Nikki & Nick have really built something special in Scottsdale. I haven't been at Bodi since the beginning but I have been a member for over 5 years and I definitely love that place! There are multiple options of classes that incorporate strength and cardio, yoga, heated mat Pilates and boxing (now Hyrox based class and straight lifting classes). They have expanded to 3 studios to offer all those classes, which is amazing! There's always a variety of exercises to hit the main muscles groups and the accessory muscle groups. The recovery room is super convenient to use after a class or on a rest day. Variety of class times to meet a large range of schedules. They truly value their members and community and are constantly finding ways to benefit the members even more. It can always be a little intimidating trying a new gym or class but I think they do a great job at trying to make everyone feel welcome & it's generally easy to follow along if feeling lost during a workout. The coaches bring so much energy & fun to the classes as well. Bodi is very affordable in comparison to other gyms (especially if you catch one of their sales around holidays). Class pass is another great way to experience some bodi classes. Definitely worth it to try at least once!!

I've only taken three strength training classes so far, but they've all been great. The workouts…read moreare effective, creative, and genuinely fun. I also love the layout of the gym it's clean, well spaced out, and the equipment is great. My only con so far is that, in my experience, the trainers haven't been very engaged with the class or offered much guidance on form. One of the things I love most about group fitness is when instructors hype up the room & shouting out members, offering motivation, or demoing the moves alongside the class instead of just in the beginning and I haven't really seen that yet. That said, the staff are all super friendly, the gym offers so much more than just strength training (which I'm excited to explore), and the playlists are a solid 10/10. If you're in Scottsdale or just want to try a new gym I highly recommend this one!

I took the six week challenge at True Strength Fitness after seeing the Facebook ad online. I had…read morejust moved to the Scottsdale office and was looking for a boutique gym to help me get back into a routine. They promote a 3-pronged approach to weightloss: exercise, nutrition, and accountability. The workouts are 30 minutes of HIIT training and every day is different, so they are fun and it's basically impossible to make excuses not to go when they are so short! The trainers are nice and so are the people; it's a small group environment so you get the extra attention from the trainers but still get to meet people along the way. The only reason I'm giving this 4 stars instead of 5: I personally feel like this gym is better suited for older women and moms focused on weightloss. I'm in my late 20s and in fairly good shape. I also like to cook and am very health conscious, so I didn't find their nutrition plan very valuable. Some of the workouts could have been harder, but they have to cater to the crowd and focus more on beginner movements. That being said, the overall experience was very positive. I decided not to continue my membership at the end of the six weeks, but I did learn some new things while there and was able to get back into my routine - I have a lot of respect for the hardworking trainers there who always remember everyone's name and go above and beyond in providing personalized attention to each member.

I loved the comraderie of the women and Coach Amanda is not only an awesome trainer who pushes you to do more but also a really awesome lady! If you're looking for a lifestyle change, this place will give you that.

I was pleasantly surprised when Bailee streamlined the process without any pressure. She also offered me free trials of membership benefits like the red light therapy and the brand new cold plunge! Bailee was so friendly and helpful in assisting me in deciding on how to proceed with my membership choices in a non committal way like I wanted. Another gentleman (I think his name was Brad) gave us a tour and was very respectful of the limited amount of time I had to spend on the tour. A great part about Mountainside fitness is that they allow 12-year-olds to join so that means my daughter can come with me! I could not find another gym in the area that allows children under 13 to attend so I was really pleased at this privilege. I also liked that all the memberships allow you to go to any location.! I'm really grateful that Bailee was there to help, being that she was so knowledgeable on the membership options and perks! P.s. I love the cold plunge!

I recommend this gym all the time to colleagues. I have one serious concern; the cell phone use in the men's locker room is out of control and violating everyone's privacy. I don't understand why guys bring their cell phone when they are in the steam room and sauna. Don't cell phones overheat in extreme heat? It is NOT ok to have a video call in the steam room/sauna and it is NOT ok to be on speaker phone either. There has to be some basic locker room etiquette that needs to be enforced. There also needs more signage that cell phones are not acceptable in this area, as other gym chains have done. It's OK to leave your phone in a locked locker for 10-15 minutes. One other basic locker room 101 etiquette lesson; guys leave your dirty shoes in your locker. Don't wear them in the steam room or sauna. I can't be the only gym member seeing these things happening day after day.
