It was loaded with wings, nachos, fries, mozzarella sticks, meatballs, and several other appetizers. The presentation alone made it worth ordering, and there was plenty of food for the group. We sat outside and really enjoyed the patio. Scottsdale is hot, but the constant water misters helped a ton and kept the seating area comfortable. I don't often go to old town, but Barstool Scottsdale is the official venue for the University of Michigan Alumni Club, Phoenix's football watch parties. Which is no surprise because Dave Portoroy, the owner of Barstool, is a Michigan grad. I've checked out this sports bar twice, both on football Saturdays. With it being old town, parking isn't easy, but I've been able to find street parking both times a few minutes away by foot. Ambiance (4/5): Pretty awesome for a sports bar. There are a ton of TVs, which is number one for a sports bar. They play the sound during MIchigan games, which is very important. There's both a downstairs and upstairs area, both with their own bars. As well as a patio in the front. There are booths, high top seating, bar seating, and VIP areas. Despite the size of the bar, it gets packed which takes away from the experience for me. And at night, they have a DJ and they start blasting music, so the vibe changes. Service (3.5/5): For the watch parties, we have had our own waitress. She has done a good job both times taking care of a large group, which isn't easy. Outside of that, it can take a while to get your drink at the bar due to the crowds and not having enough bartenders. And the first time I was there, the upstairs bar wasn't open when the game started, so there were some logistical issues there. Food (3.5/5): Pretty solid for bar food. I've had the mozzarella sticks, giant pretzel, and the chips and three dips. The portion sizes for all three of the appetizers were generous, especially the latter two. The giant pretzel definitely lives up to the namesake. Good food to munch on as you're watching the game. Drinks (3.5/5): Barstool has a full bar so pretty much what you would expect at a sports bar: a decent list of cocktails, beer, seltzers, and wine. What stands out to me is their group drinks. I've done the giant margarita (for two people) and the giant Moscow mule (for two people). Beyond the presentation (huge glasses/mugs) that make an impression, it's always fun to do a group drink. The drinks are a little overpriced, but it is Old Town. If you're wanting to watch the game, Barstool Scottsdale makes for a solid choice. Go blue! read more

I was at Barstool Scottsdale during the NCAA tournament. We were looking for a place to watch the games and this certainly fit the bill. Seating is a challenge because the majority of booths are probably for bottle service or have a table minimum. We were able to get seating along the rail upstairs which was fine. Waitress still stopped by occasionally to check on us. I had a few IPAs (Church Music). They were cold. I didn't eat. This is a fun place to watch a sporting event but it is fairly generic. Probably won't have a bad time here but I imagine it is all based on your group. read more

This place looked so vibey when I walked down along and saw it for the first time a month back!! So had quite wanted to try. There were a lot of people sitting in the lounge chairs outside, enjoying the sports games and socializing, and music was loud but not overwhelming on point for a happening sports bar lounge too. So when my friends decided to go here a week or so later I was all for it! It's a really spacious place inside, of course with lots of sports TVs throughout. You hear guys cheering and standing up and fist bumping and all when key plays happen, and it was a great place to be for the World Series games this year. Quite popular on Friday night, and not just for guys too. I wasn't even the hugest fan of Barstool from before or anything but really enjoyed the bar it's a vibe! When we arrived, the tables were very sticky which they were cleaned immediately once we told the server but, having them that way when we arrived was a little bit of a bummer. If only my friend would've been allowed in... this review would be different. She's disabled, walks with a limp and struggles to fully use her hand. The door people, bottle service AND the manager had her do a sobriety test in front of everyone, assuming she was drunk even though she stated MANY times she was disabled. The sobriety test involved standing on one leg (remember how she can't do that well?) and counting on her fingers (this too) at the same time. She failed, because of course she would but she still tried to comply, despite her telling them of her disability. She was then LAUGHED at and turned away. She was belittled and humiliated in front of our group and the patrons of this discriminatint, disgusting establishment. You should not only be ashamed of yourself as a business, but as humans! Nice and clean look from the outside and great location. They opened late but we were second in line and it official opened at 10:04am, TCU Baylor started at 10am. Nice welcoming from the bouncer spitting dip spit on the ground while we waited in line. They didn't have the TVs set up for the games when we came in but they got them on within 10 minutes. We sat upstairs and ordered espresso martinis- very good and I'd order them again. Our server wasn't very knowledgeable on the menu but it was her first day and she was very friendly and trying hard and keeping a positive attitude despite the card reader difficulties. She was nice and attentive. Overall I expected way more TVs for barstool. Pretty nice that they have outlets at the booth tables and would be very convenient for buying a table at nighttime. Was good at the start. We stayed for 2 rounds of football games. By the afternoon games the place got crowded and then the staff at the bar (which is where we sat) became scarce. We went the second half of the bears game (the reason why we were there) without any service. When they finally came and spoke with us I asked of the tab and they charged our card with a 20% tip. It has the potential to be much better but that is going to be up to management to fix things. If going on the weekend, get a reservation. Their reservation process is a joke. Have to email and wait. We're big fans of Barstool Sports and Dave Portnoy. We were excited to go and check the place out. We walked in just as they opened and in less than an hour it was standing room only. The music was great and they had tons of TVs for watching whatever relevant sport was going on. This weekend it was the Iowa women vs S. Carolina championship game. Our waitress was a beautiful girl and handled the crowd well. We tried a few different cocktails and they were all very good. The food was hit or miss. My bacon, egg, & cheese croissant sliders were really good but the Loco Moco was meh and needed seasoning. I'm a little older than what the normal clientele would be so it isn't a place I would frequent if I lived in the area. It was fun for the day we were there and the experience. read more

They required a fingerprint with a credit card and ID in order to walk in to a $500.00 table minimum at 9:30am on a Saturday morning. I told them I would give them cash rather than a fingerprint and they refused. I obliged with protest as I had several friends who had showed up at this point and was feeling extremely embarrassed. About the most uncomfortable experience of my life, what's next you want my social security number for my credit card to enter your sports bar ( business must be really bad)( said they are having lots of customers with chargebacks) Am I a criminal at this point for walking into a sports bar. Wondering when the identity theft will begin and what all the fingerprint will get used for. Won't be booking an event here again do to this invasive policy. With that said we did have a good time as we were with good old friends. Chloe, our server was very friendly and really tried hard to take care of us. Much appreciated! The rest of the staff was nice and accommodating also. They did apply an auto gratuity of 20% which was also unusual for a party of our size. I tipped Chloe additional via cash as who knows what the bar takes. Though we had a good time and the staff did the best job they could.
