The movers who loaded the truck at my old apartment and unloaded the truck at my new apartment were very accommodating and easy to work with, and the process went very smoothly. The morning of the move, the movers drove into Chicago from Arlington Heights and said that the total travel time was estimated at 1.5 hours (45 minutes each way). I understand that I am responsible for paying for the travel time of the movers, but looking back, I am not sure why my move wasn't referred to the Chicago location of College Hunks, as that would have been way more convenient for both parties. When I first called and scheduled the job, I was emailed a quoted range for what the travel time plus the estimated 1-3 hours of labor would be, but when the movers arrived the morning of the move, the estimated quote that they gave me had an additional entire hour of labor and was more than $200 over that. I don't blame the movers at all, they were just doing their job, but I am frustrated that the quote I was initially emailed was not at all similar to what I ended up paying.

I reported these damages and filled out the repair and settlement form back in February 2026 and have yet to receive a response and/or my refund from Jake F after multiple following up. The business is an absolute joke and I wouldn't use their services even if it was for free.

They were prompt and professional in those dealings. The unfortunate part of this transaction is that the movers chipped our concrete stairs on the way down, one 4 x 2 inch section and the next step just a nick. They were aware of it as they removed the piece from the porch. When the business owner got in touch with my husband and asked him to leave them a good review, my husband mentioned this chip. No response. I reached out through their business website to also tell them, and crickets. This disappointed me and was not very professional.

I thought my husband had paid so did nothing right away. He said no one had asked him for a credit card. That evening they tried to call me five times in less than 10 minutes. I was busy and didn't answer the phone. Next thing you know, I got a message, threatening to bring my stuff back and put it in my condo hallway. This, by the way, is less than eight hours after they picked it up. The invoice mentioned check so checks take some time to be delivered by US mail When I tried to call back, I got a voicemail several times. So I sent them a voicemail of my credit card number, which made me very nervous. Anyway, I would not do business with this group because it sounded like the man was inebriated or else whyon earth would they be so afraid of not getting payment in such a short time.
